The day started so differently. The Lord Mayor's Show was a celebration of London and its diversity.

The Remembrance events are peaceful.

The Palestine ceasefire march today is peaceful (and massive) - and there are Jewish groups there, as well as the Hamas-leaning fringe (Met Police have confirmed they are seeking to identify a few wearing objectional headbands). Even the Jewish spokesman on SKY says it is right for the march to be going ahead (though he wishes elements within the demo were different). Not sure how representative he is.

The shits of the day are the EDF and others of their type.

They didn't need to protect the Cenotaph. That's the police's role, and the only people they've had to defend it from are the far right.

What can I say? It’s hideous. And terrifying.

I support those who march because they want the bombings on both sides to end. And I also don’t want my Jewish friends to feel scared and unsafe. I don’t know how to make that happen.

And of course I don’t want anyone to feel scared by those ‘go back to your country’ chants.

Can someone actually articulate just how they are "protecting" Remembrance by acting like little shits right by a key and normally solemn place?

The only arrests so far are 82 far right protestors; most/all at a pub on Tachbrook Street (which for people who don't know London is close to the Vauxhall Bridge Road part of the route)

There seem to be a range of views, all co-existing and marching peacefully.

It's an absolutely massive demonstration. The head of it is at the US Embassy, but there are still people joining it at Hyde Park Corner.

I really feel for any Jewish people who view this march, as a march against them. In my eyes, it isn’t, and I’m sure in the eyes of many protesters, it is not.

And yet they'll look at the newspapers and see a photo - as I just did - of a protester carrying an antisemitic placard showing Netanyahu with devil horns. And there are hundreds of thousands of people happy to march with this shit. So your words sound just a little bit hollow.

Whilst I am pro-Palestine, (and if it needs saying, anti-Hamas and pro-release of all hostages), I really feel for any Jewish people who view this march, as a march against them. In my eyes, it isn’t, and I’m sure in the eyes of many protesters, it is not. It is largely people who are traumatised by the death of more and more Gazans every day, and who want the UK/US-backed democracy of Israel to stop bombing Palestine. Of course there will be an antisemitic element there and I hope those kind arrested and ejected from the march asap.

But it must be pretty awful to be Jewish and feel persecuted whilst these marches go on.

The UK government are not supporting Hamas though. I can’t believe this still needs explaining to people.

I am a Londoner of many years, and know plenty of people here who support the march, even if they are not joining it. They just don’t support violent protests, and also want the violence in Israel to stop.
The more peaceful protesters joining the march, the better.

GB News are shits - just watched their headlines and they're showing footage of waving flags and red flares going off in Trafalgar Square - small writing in the top corner '4th November'.

Also, there was a 'little disruption' at The Cenotaph - if that had been pro-Palestinian marchers, instead of the Far Right, can you imagine the vitriol!
