I literally just saw on the news now about how EDL members were "disruptive" yesterday and the "Pro Palestinian march was peaceful". I'm assuming from what I saw that the EDL members are not "newcomers" and yet they are attempting to impact on how "we" see "our" history. Just something to think about.

It also illustrates an issue in the UK too about our ancestors and the world wars, a huge part of the psyche and background of most of the 67m of us in the UK, but not for some some newer incomers to the UK and how those newer people affect how the UK remembers its past and what is "the past". I suppose it is still pretty de minimis as most of the 67m are from the UK and have a shared history but as more people come that changes although probably never enough to be anything other than minimal against the 67m residents.

Going back however to Hamas terrorists invading Israel and causing the problems for those in Gaza - I am sure Hamas knew exactly what it was doing and has probably achieved what it wanted - no rapprochement between Israel and Saudi etc. Hopefully the Saudi/Israel peace deal planned before 7 Nov will still be on the table and Hamas will continue to be the losers that they are.

There are also plenty of reports that Hamas/Gazans dressed in the IDF and police uniforms of those they killed. I imagine the whole situation was rather confusing.

what ive been saying for a while. They can kill every hamas supporter … but unless the conflict is directly fixed with a solution that works for both countries… the problem will continue

Thousands of people sheltering at Shifa hospital have fled after strikes

Palestinian evacuees fleeing Gaza’s northern combat zone have told the Associated Press that thousands of displaced people who had sheltered at Shifa Hospital in the heart of Gaza City have fled following overnight explosions there.

The hospital had been sheltering nearly 80,000 people

Some of those fleeing Friday said only a few hundred badly wounded patients and doctors remained behind. Doctors at Shifa Hospital could not immediately be reached for comment because of phone and internet connectivity disruptions.

The Israeli army has alleged that Hamas hides in and under hospitals and that it has set up a command center under Shifa — claims the militant group and hospital staff deny.

Gaza health officials said strikes were carried out near four hospitals overnight and early Friday.

A senior Israeli security official told the Associated Press that a review was being carried out and that initial findings indicated that one strike at Shifa was the result of a misfire by militants.
