You were directed to the post specifically by another poster before it was deleted. They said “I support Hamas”. It was the post at 22.35 which unfortunately is the only post MN has seen fit to delete - even though they also said they want the destruction of Israel

All the innocents killed in the last month didn't deserve it, not just Palestinians.

Hamas might have said it. The thousands of innocents killed did not. Isreal have clearly stated their aim and they are literally evidencing it before our eyes.

I know the innocent thousands of civilian Palestinians are nlt deserving of this. Its disproportionate mass murder and purposful eradication.

@Redlarge , I beg to differ. An abject atrocity was visited on Israel. Hamas have very publicly expressed their intention not to rest until the Jews and Israel are irradiated. What exactly do you consider a ‘proportional’ response to that?

I made that point in my very first post. I just don't think many people actually support Hamas.

It's not funny but the majority of posts on this subject are like a pantomime, 'oh no she didn't' 'oh yes she did'. Both sides just cite what the other side has done- there is never any engagement in details.

I don't understand how anyone can think either side are unequivocally in the right. Both sides have committed terrible attrocities over the years.

People are supporting Palestinians and feel shocked and helpless at the war crimes, collective punishment and mass murder.

Ask yourself this. You’ve got two and a hapf million people, mostly young men and children who have known nothing but Gaza’s poverty. Then on the 7th, the Hamas armed brigades perform a mission that breaks down completely that walled prison perimeter while they go about getting leverage for what was to come. Are you at all surprised that, maybe, some of those angry youths went and committed those acts?

No. I'm not. You won't find a single post from me defending Israel's behaviour. It's like the Israeli (former) peace activist I referenced upthread- people who've suffered react in anger. Gaza is a gigantic Ghetto.

But I think there is overwhelming evidence that the slaughter on 7/10 was real and it can't possibly be justified.

All we are seeing is the embodiment of 'an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind'. Wanting Israel destroyed isn't just wrong, it's a laughably unachieveable goal. All that happens from all this hate is that more innocents suffer.

The thread is about whether people in general are making excuses for/supporting Hamas. We often get new posters joining to post extreme views. I'd be more accepting of the idea that a significant part of the UK population support Hamas if you were a long term poster. I'm currently still inclined to think it's a very unusual position.

There are countless videos, photos and live footage online. Israel is slaughtering innocent people and children by the thousands. When you can shrug at that, cry whataboutery or claim complete ignorance because you haven’t bothered to search online for footage (Instagram, it’s not difficult) then you have lost all humanity.
