@Parker231 A very simple question you should probably consider when deciding to go on a fluffy pro Palestine march, is 'do you believe that Israel has the right to exist as a sovereign state?', and if your answer is anything other than 'no', then you don't belong on one of those marches.

Parker231 there is a huge difference between not supporting the current Israeli government and calling for the eradication of the state of Israel which is what much of the pro Palestinian rhetoric is doing, whether by overtly chanting from the river to the sea or by demanding a ceasefire. Hamas don’t want a ceasefire. They want to obliterate Israel and kill all the Jews.

It's worse than that at some of the marches, there's praise for the terror attacks.

The problem is at the marches there are not signs condemning Hamas
There are not signs demanding the hostages are released. There are not signs telling Hamas to stop firing missiles at civilian homes in Israel, which they have done since the start of the pogrom and have not stopped. The one signs people see are ones condemning Israel or some antisemitism ones.

If people don't want the general public and Jewish people to say these are hate marches then a lot needs to change. It is not by a long shot a decent thing to be part of a marches that behaves in this way. People find it hard to believe most supporters are really interested in the Gazens when they only challenge or shout about one side of the issue. When they don't acknowledge on the marches any deaths on one side. When they don't demand the release of babies and children from Hamas.

There’s a huge difference in supporting Palestinians which many of us do. Don’t know anyone who supports Hamas. I also support Israelis but don’t support their government.

Arty, I agree. However I am glad MN has debate on the issues and that those of us on both sides can talk about them, even if there is a massive gulf between us at times.

Terrorists like Hamas will never stop. Israel has no choice but to react to the invasion as it has done. Pakistan is expelling 1.7m Afghans and I believe Iran is doing so too.One reason Pakistan is doing so it that there aer a lot of terrorists amongst the 1.7m who are causing a lot of damage in Pakistan. We need to stand up to terrorists ilke Hamas, Al Q. ISIS.

It is so awful! These barbarians have told us who they are again and again, and yet people who genuinely consider themselves decent are complicit in calling for the obliteration of Israel/Jews. As said the source was from the excerpt in the book which has been published i only put it up as you asked the poster for a source and i remembered reading about it.

Aso just to clarify i have not once debated on the nature of the atrocities that took place on the 7th of October with anybody on this thread or in real life.It'sturbing enough without going into miniscule detail.

It's also quite plausible that the terrorist actually sought to emulate some of the more widely publicised historial atrocities such as the baby in the oven and the pregnant woman.

What is interesting is that there are posters who are very quick to declare some of the worst details of 7 October as untrue. Obviously I don't personally know what did or didn't really happen, but there is relatively credible eyewitness evidence.
The same posters would find any questioning of incidents coming out of Gaza deeply offensive though, even though the two main sources are the Hamas-run Health Ministry and Instagram.

What I have noticed is that the Israelis are far more squeamish about realeasing the worst of the footage and images. When the attack initially happened, it was the terrorists realeasing much of the imagery so they had no control over what went out. Now they are doing it via invited press screenings, or images that have at least to some degree been consored and permission from families sought.

The images out of Gaza tend to be immediate and uncensored.

I think this has maybe given a skewed perception, beyond the obvious differences in number of deaths, of the levels of suffering.
Or maybe people will simply seek out and believe whatever chimes with their existing views, and seek to deny, dismiss and minimise that which doesn't.

That is the reason I got involved in these discussions in the first instance. I was confronted with some raw imagary on twitter that was shocking in its brutality, and the whitewashing and lies that followed that were almost instant, including on here.
