"But Israel gave them prime waterfront land, and they still wouldn't accept a two state solution". A poster said this on another thread and I literally can't get this out of my head. It's probably the best (and worst) case of gaslighting hasbara I have seen on any of the threads. Just incase anyone has the notion that Gazans were reclining on their sunloungers, admiring the sea views from their luxury penthouse apartments, this is a thread to discuss life in Gaza pre 7/10. I understand completely and I can only imagine what you must be feeling.

I've never been there (even though I'm pretty good at the history/ politics of the region and always knew about the reality of Israel and its apartheid) and I always actively avoid watching videos/ seeing photos, but still feel haunted by what I read and the very very few photos/ videos I accidentally saw.

I am in awe of those brave Palestinians. They've been treated horrifically for over 75 years. Not just by Israel's treatment but also by the West's silence.

I'm here from time to time. Very selfishly and self absorbedly, I need to take a step back sometimes. The scenes are so harrowing, particularly the hospital and as I said it has brought up a lot of painful memories of my time there, witnessing the human rights violations and feeling so helpless to do anything. I'm here from time to time. Very selfishly and self absorbedly, I need to take a step back sometimes. Not as far as I’m aware. You can do whatever you wish (unless it breaks guidelines of course). This thread was about what life is like in Gaza so people posted articles and videos on that subject. I’m not sure why that’s a problem?

Feel free to share your thoughts then? Complaining about the "deluge" of clips/links and lack of discussion, with your post devoid of any discussion is a tad ironic in itself. I really like discussion, but have stopped trying to engage because it's pointless. Posters like yourself coming on to derail is highly annoying, but I suspect that's entirely the point.
