If Israel didn't exist (for arguments sake, let's say the area had had a totally different history since ~1917), there would be another country there. Who knows which, there's no way of knowing that.

And for accuracy sake, Gaza hasn’t had a free election in 17 years and there is zero evidence that they unequivocally support Hamas. They are a terrorist organisation that has also terrorised Palestinians.

Of course the conflict is about more than that. THe conlfi t started about 4000 years ago in a fight over land then over holy lands and on and on it goes.

However right now, at this moment Israel has capitalized on the Hamas attack (which the IDF allowed to happen and may themselves have added fuel to) to try to wipe out Gaza. There is a callous indifference to human life in Gaza. The warnings are not warnings when people have nowhere to go and when safe / refugee gathering spots are also bombed. Palestinians are in a Gaza cage - they can't heed warning. In addition to those killed, the number injured is in the tens of thousands now. For some people - the loss of human life on a mass scale of primarily innocent people is not okay. Be it in Ukraine or in Gaza or anywhere. Others are accepting it as the price of war. Others see Israel taking opportunity to do what they have wanted to do for a long time. Israel is methodical. It has to walk a fine line. The west will turn a blind eye to Israel commiting war crimes to a certain degree as long as they keep deflecting intention and ill motivation, however that isn't a blanket approval to obliterate all life in Gaza and so Israel knows they have to move slowly. This war will go on for awhile. Given the death, injuries and destruction we have seen before the real war on the ground has even started - this is the tip of the iceberg.

Having seen the interview with their leader on Saudi TV this morning, they appear to be shrugging and saying that millions died in Russia and Vietnam and the Palestinian people need to make the same sacrifice... they don't care about their own people and are happy to use them as human shields.

I don’t think there’s strong support for hamas, no. Is there strong support for Israel? From western leaders yes (there’s a bigger agenda there) but from the population? I’m not convinced. Most of us stand with the incident civilians on both sides of this utter shit show of humanity.

I don't have purple hair, Palestinian flags or a twitter account. I never watch TikTok either. What I do have is enough knowledge to understand that we are witnessing now is not something that started on 07/10/23 but in 1948, i.e. the systematic oppression of the Palestinian people.

They have only managed to kill 7000 in Gaza. Israel, if genocide is your aim then you seriously suck at it.

despite the thousands of hits on Gaza they have warned civilians where they will be thereby endangering their own troops to protect civilian life. They have only killed 7000 hamas fighters and civilians shows that they are warnings. If the bombing is indiscriminate then in a populated area it would be much more than that. With such low civilian casualties, bearing in mind hamas inflated figures we can only logically conclude that Israel is going above and beyond to protect civilian life.
meanwhile the government of Gaza, hamas, have shown that they have no problem with killing babies. They cannot now pretend they care about their own babies being killed, they don’t. Good they can get more aid money for their estates in Doha.

can I also point out that the figure of 7000 from hamas also includes hamas fighters not civilians therefore even less civilians have been killed as we know hamas is a full of shit and inflates figures.
