Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people[a] in whole or in part. I'm not spreading hate. Hamas is a terrorist group, I don't believe anything they say.

Their numbers have been deemed as accurate by many other reputable organisations.

Also, it doesn't matter. You can see how many people have been killed, homes, schools and hospitals destroyed. The terror being inflicted on Gaza is there to see.

The western world has shown that it’s perfectly acceptable for brown people to be collateral damage, after Afghanistan and then Iraq. It has also shown that white victims of war are more important, as evident by its response to Ukraine.

It’s really not surprising that Israel is doing all this under claims of “war on terror”, and it will get away with it.

Israelis are brown too, there are israelian Arabs origin, israelian Turkish origin etc etc.. is not about being brown or not, is about being attacked in a horrible way from a terrorist group called Hamas.

Well said. 100,000 Armenians ethnically cleansed, and it got a couple of days in the news.

While I can sympathise with the Gazans to a degree, people overlook/ignore the fact that historically, it is the Arabs that have done most of the ethnic/religious cleansing. Whatever happened to the Copts and other Christian denominations, the Yazidis, the Druze and the Zoroastrians - not to mention the Jews of Baghdad and Tehran - all far more numerous in the past? You think they all just decided to move elsewhere? They were killed, converted and generally oppressed out of existence - before the advent of social media unfortunately for them.

So I'm with the Israelis. It's hard and nasty, but what are they supposed to do? "Negotiate" with people that want them dead? Israel is a mere 8,000 square miles compared to the 2 million occupied by Arabs, Turks and Persians - and we're supposed to believe they are the victims?

It seems the whole world is blind. When Ukraine was getting bombed people had a different reaction to Gaza getting bombed. It is also absurd on the Israeli side why you would be bombing Gaza because you are supposedly getting rid of Hamas. Bombing Gaza not only puts innocent civilians there at risk but Israel's own hostages are also at risk.

History has taught us that getting rid of dangerous groups/people does not always work. Look what happened to Pablo Escobar (killed) and El Chapo (jail) the drug wars in Colombia and Mexico has not stopped in fact it can be argued the wars have increased and violence and bloodshed is worse. Same with Al Qaeda what happened then something worse came ISIS. Moral of the story something worse is always around the corner. Plus people need to realize Israel have attacked Palestine before Hamas took power. Bella Hadid's dad mentions how he was kicked out of his own home during 1948 Nakba. Israel has too much power over Gaza imagine a country controlling your trade, utilities, food etc..

In Darkness" has been hidden by Mumsnet probably because it was maliciously reported by some with the opposing view, and instead of engaging in a civil debate they wanted to stifle it. I contacted MNHQ both by email and here:

So the way these threads generally work is:

  1. Excuse my ignorance as I don't know much about the Arab Israeli conflict but could someone please explain to me [insert something emotive]
  2. post some factually incorrect comments and deny certain events took place
  3. when countered / challenged or corrected immediately shift to whataboutery
  4. quickly moving on to conspiracy theories
  5. once seeds of doubt are planted revert back to denial

The thing is both sides of this debate are driven by conviction and will dismiss any factual information that shows their comments to be fake news. Nothing will ever change both sides views and unless we stop emotive opinions and instead stick to the facts then it will be impossible to reach a peaceful solution.

Exactly what I am thinking. I don't even have the words for how awful it is. Shame on every government that silently stands by and says nothing.
