The IDF have traditionally used live ammunition against stone throwers - the stone throwers have been children as young 5. Reports can be found back in 2015.

I believe it had eased up a bit recently but they’ve resumed. The sky report show’s teenagers but generally it tends to be young primary age school kids because obviously all the teenagers are in prison.

I refuse to lose sight of one side that is suffering. The appalling suffering and death to civilians in Israel and Palestine is appalling. To feel sickened by an show of solidarity and sympathy to the citizen’s of a country that suffered such appalling and deliberate depravity is, well I’m genuinely lost for words. There had been no counter attack then. There was just an appalling terrorist attack.
The level of dehumanization of ‘one side’ by being sickened by an empathetic display in the immediate aftermath of a terrorist, depraved attack, that is something I refuse to do and will never condone.

The difference is that Israel was previously operating under the belief that they could co-exist with Hamas. On Oct 7th Hamas have shown quite categorically that the Israeli government were wrong. That’s quite the game changer.

In previous posts you seem to be arguing that Israel’s priority should be to garner public sympathy. Here you seem to think words of condemnation should be Israel’s goal. But words of sympathy or condemnation will not keep Israel safe.

I have no idea what will.

It wasn’t passive aggressive. It was genuinely pointing out that you seemed to be arguing Israel should not counter attack. And you confirmed that you were saying that in a subsequent post.

It’s perfectly normal in debates to point out to people where their arguments actually lead.

You clearly have not honestly read what I said if you have interpreted ( distorted) my statement that I don’t know what the solution is but that I object to Hamas not being held to any responsibility for the ensuing death and destruction, as me supporting said death and destruction. That’s clearly an entirely unsupported, to put it politely, conclusion to draw of what I said.

Serbia has a smaller population than that yet a gunshot from one of its nationalists brought about WW1.

As a politician with access to the highest calibre information and intelligence, he should have given more thought to the decades-long mistreatment of Palestinians, caused by the settlement agreed by the British state and the zionists in the Balfour Declaration; and also the likely reaction of Netanyahu, who was a known quantity.

He rashly made himself a hostage to future outcomes and placed this country on the side of a warmongering colonial state, that’s now committing the most horrific war crimes as we type.

The IDF released a video a few hours ago to provide evidence that Hamas are using Shifa Hospital as their HQ. I hope that doesn't mean what I think it does. At this point I couldn't care less if Hamas were on the roof sipping coffee with ISIS, Al Qaeda and the devil himself, there is no excuse for bombing a hospital.
