We're getting serious this time BESHies. Welcome to the Palace, where the emphasis is on sophistication. Cast your eyes over the plush carpet, admire the oh-so-carefully worn leather armchairs with sidetables and little green lamps. We have the Bonds of the ages as barstaff, waiting to serve martinis and the finest champagne.

To your left you'll see the Pit, which hopefully we won't be needing much. To your right the Cave of Gloom, and straight ahead we have our special space for the 2WOOFL. You'll find beanbags and gym balls there, the walls have been specially painted to allow you to write your symptoms up and wipe them off if they disappear. It's all the rage for Blue Sky thinking these days. And there are donuts and coffee to keep you going as you try to shift that paradigm.

LochNessBeshie Glad that the spotting stopped...still think you should get it checked out .

Hi everyone else. Am made almost entirely of menkul, so will be lurking but v v quiet. Fingers crossed for everyone who needs such things...

Muser · 21/06/2010 09:31

I think it's possibly not odd. I think what I did was count a day too early. I counted day 1 as the day I had just the tiniest bit of spotting. If I counted from day 2 then droid would be due today. I am only day 30 of 28. Not like I'm a week late.

OP posts:
laurielou · 21/06/2010 09:26

bess glad all is well.

polly really? I'm not totally sure how to feel about it. Am going as good friend wanted to before hitting 40.

muse hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Not words of wisdom here. Tis odd, just odd.

PollyPoo · 21/06/2010 09:24

xpost Bessie. Glad to hear all is ok.

Muser · 21/06/2010 09:23

Glad to hear it Bessie.

Day 30 in the Muser Gussetwatch and there's nothing showing on the cam. There is a rather lovely chunky spot on the chin, which could be a sign of droid.

Today's menkulness was staring at the el cheapo PIAP stick and deciding the very thick control line looked like 2 lines joined together. Sheesh.

Lozzer I am v at Glasto.

Bessie123 · 21/06/2010 09:19

Good morning, my favourite hags. I have had no more discharge or blood so all ok this morning, thanks for your concern

laurielou · 21/06/2010 09:07

Morning everyone.

muse how are you feeling this morning? I'm sorry you're having to put up with this. Have a stern word with your ovaries!

oca its hard receiving happy news & not being 100% happy about it, isn't it? Some of my friends have now started to have the snip, baybees well & truly done & dusted. That makes me feel v v v v v v left behind. Ah, fucksticks.

aries Although I love my mum to bits I don't want to turn into her either. However, I think its inevitible, sorry. Is there any more news about your sister?

I'm on CD22 so started necking the pineapple juice now. Am off to Glastonbury Thurs, so am making the most of my comfy bed with crisp cotton sheets & pristine toilet. Am also praying to the droid Gods that if it must arrive this month its a longer cycle, as droid + Glasto portaloo = gibbering wreck. (No, I'm not one already, thank you very much).

Champagne & strawberries all round........

PollyPoo · 21/06/2010 08:16

Morning all. Muse any droid news this morning?

Bessie how are you feeling today? Any more discharge? Hope all is ok.

Fish slaps and bitch slaps all round. And speaking of round - barman, a round of slippery nipples if you please.

Scorpette · 21/06/2010 00:16

Bessie, I echo getting that checked out. Is 99% sure to be absolutely nothing to worry about, but why take a chance on anything other than 100%. Sending you lots of luff

OckeyStick - Just remember that they've only got diffed to mock you and will then be saddled with unwanted children

RieRie, don't worry, your Mum is just taking her anguish out on you and doesn't mean it. Is totally unfair, but also totally human. And everyone turns into their Mum. The trick is to try and just do it a la good stuff (even if you think there's not much of that). You did what your sis wanted and needed at the time, so cling onto that. It's about her and the baby, not your Mum.

Ocarina · 20/06/2010 23:04

I'm sure I remember reading that in general women's luteal phase stays the same length and it's the bit before ov that determines cycle length if it changes. Which would mean late ov = late droid. But then as other people clearly say otherwise (see Scorps' googling) that helps not one jot.

Bessie hope everything's OK. A+E may sound over the top but if you need reassurance I'd go and pester them, it's what they're there for.

I've had a day of getting baby news from lots of places (partly what comes of phoning my parents because it's Fathers' day). The one which has made me weirdly sad (as well as happy for them) was meeting up with a friend and discovering she's 4 1/2 months pregnant, which thinking about it I'd guessed when I saw her 2 months ago. I think it's realising that she and her husband are the latest in a long list of friends to go from 'couple' to 'parents' and I feel like I'm getting left behind Not sure that's at all logical, but it was weirdly hard.

Muser · 20/06/2010 22:20

I am going to take a leaf out of Scorps book and chill the hell out.

OP posts:
Scorpette · 20/06/2010 22:02

Just looked this stuff up via Google and some folks say OV does affect cycle length, some don't. So, as clear as mud then

Ariesgirl · 20/06/2010 22:01

Apostrophe shame

Scorpette · 20/06/2010 21:58

Well, I Ov on CD14 most of the time and only have a 27 day cycle, so I'm proof that droid doesn't come 14 days later. Once, last year, I OVed on a crapulent CD22 and droid still started on CD27. I was seeing the doc about something else and asked her about it and she said Ov shouldn't necessarily determine cycle length. However, seeing as I have ishoos with early spotting before droid and therefore a touch of the ole LPD, things might be different for me. Everyone's cycle is unique to them - which is what makes 2WOOFLing so menkul

As for my 2WOOFL, have decided not to indulge. Droid should be due in a week, so let's see what happens. Am determined to try not to get so anxious about anything (trusting Ye Olde Chestnutte 'relax and it'll happen').

Meddler, will invite ya

Medee · 20/06/2010 21:26

I'm not sure I understand how Oving late doesn't affect cycle length. Last cycle I ov'd (or the CBFM indicated I did) on day 24 and my cycle length was 38 days. Unless the LP is long or short, your period will come 14 days post ov?

Ariesgirl · 20/06/2010 21:25

Muse, if your family and your in laws are as nice as you have shown they have then absolutely no one will hate you. And you wont' be horrible a) because you're a lovely, strong BESH-laydee and b) because you're not horrible full stop.

Better get it checked out, GoodQueenBess. All's probably fine though.

In Other News, Mother now knows about Sister's poorly baby, having returned from holiday, and is all mardy because we had the selfishness not to ruin her holiday with worry. She said "You could have told me" . Firstly it's not just "me" it's "us" given that, somehow, she still has a husband. And secondly, I was asked not to.

This is a serious question: if I ever am a mum, do you think it's inevitable that I will become more like my mother. Because that concern's me more than a little.

Muser · 20/06/2010 21:22

And I bet the droid turns up tonight and all my "where is it" whining will look very foolish.

Fingers crossed for you Bessie.

Now, aren't you in the 2WOOFL Scorps? Anything to report?

OP posts:
Muser · 20/06/2010 21:10

I hope there is no more and I am sure it's fine. If we all trusted Google Diagnosis we'd have cancer, schizophrenia and ebola.

OP posts:
Bessie123 · 20/06/2010 21:05

ah shit. I will go and see if there is any more - if nothing I will just rest. If there is more I will call doc.

I am keeping everything crossed for you getting a line this week. Don't feel bad for your natural reactions. I'm sure if your family knew how difficult this is for you they wouldn't be judging.

Muser · 20/06/2010 21:01

And my googling may not be as good as yours, as I don't know what you saw. There is normal discharge you get as well, so it may be you had the normal stuff.

I PIAP this morning, not even the faintest whiff of a line.

OP posts:
Muser · 20/06/2010 20:59

I did a little google Bessie. Dr Spock suggests it's a "seek medical help now" thing. www.drspock.com/article/0,1510,23726,00.html But please don't panic, Google is a bad way to diagnose.
