We're getting serious this time BESHies. Welcome to the Palace, where the emphasis is on sophistication. Cast your eyes over the plush carpet, admire the oh-so-carefully worn leather armchairs with sidetables and little green lamps. We have the Bonds of the ages as barstaff, waiting to serve martinis and the finest champagne.

To your left you'll see the Pit, which hopefully we won't be needing much. To your right the Cave of Gloom, and straight ahead we have our special space for the 2WOOFL. You'll find beanbags and gym balls there, the walls have been specially painted to allow you to write your symptoms up and wipe them off if they disappear. It's all the rage for Blue Sky thinking these days. And there are donuts and coffee to keep you going as you try to shift that paradigm.

I promise too Bangertastic, will be absolutely fine. They just want an ETA so they don't have to hang about for you all day, if you aren't going to arrive until later. Do you see?

Cass - I know it's a bit late in the day, but I vote NO to POAS. And have a drink anyway. I'm with Muse on the 6 week theory (think Cunty told us that and Rastus is perfick).

Scorpette · 02/07/2010 22:56

Head, do what I would do - LIE. If they're in anyway weird about it (which I don't think they will be - bet people forget the 48 hrs bit aaaaall the time), say you texted on Thurs and presumed they didn't text back cos they only required your one text as confirmation

All will be well and all will be well and all manner of things will be well. Our mate Julian sez so. Now go have a fantastic holiday!

Medee, be strong. We are all rooting for a pristine gusset all weekend and beyond

Try to enjoy the wedding despite the inevitable internal menkulism. And remember - the napkins provided for the meal make ideal cigars

Cass, I never get to a stage where POASing could be a consideration so I have no wise words on the matter. But I hope it's a yes if you do

Headbanger · 02/07/2010 22:54

THANKSALLFORBEINGNICE

My anxiety disorder and I will now go to bed.

MWAHS.

Medee · 02/07/2010 22:48

I love the southwest, Heady, and would happily have lots of holidays there; pity it is so far from the northeast (the actual northeast, not the Newcastle area.)

Casserole · 02/07/2010 22:47

Head I absolutely PROMISE you won't lose your holiday over that. Just ring em in the morning. I've done that loads of times.

Have a lovely time

Headbanger · 02/07/2010 22:46

Thanks M'dear, thanks all, I know I am being idiotic but 'tis a sore point, that we can never go away owing to combination of abject poverty, absence of transport, astonishing bad luck and the OM's stupid job, so a week in Devon which prolly seems pretty shabby to normal people is like the single glowing spot of pleasure in an otherwise bleak, grey and hopeless existence.

disclaimer: I wonder from the above sentence whether I have PMT...

Headbanger · 02/07/2010 22:44

Oh do you think Muse ?

I couldn't bear it. I love London but if I don't see trees and sky soon I might go insane. I haven't seen the sea in over a year. And we're so tired. Oh GOD.

Medee · 02/07/2010 22:41

You've paid for it, so don't panic. Could you call en-route, say about 9am just to confirm you are on your way?

I'm barely drinking, but don't think it matters much Cass. MrM actually said to me this morning "now, no peeing on sticks"; as I had just returned to bed from my first morning pee, I assured him I wouldn't!

Muser · 02/07/2010 22:39

It won't happen Headz, you'll have a lufferly holiday.

OP posts:
Headbanger · 02/07/2010 22:37

AAAAARGH Now I'm not going to get any sleep...the cottage we're staying in was booked via an agent and is all paid for etc. and I've only just fucking noticed that they said please ensure you contact the owners to confirm & arrange to pick up keys 48 beforehand and I didn't I didn't I bloody bloody didn't. I just texted but I can't exactly call at this hour and we;re supposed to be leaving at 6am and I fucking bet we'll get there and be turned away and I am now going to get NO sleep at all...

I realise how cripplingly neurotic this sounds but we've not had a holiday in 2 years and haven't been away for a whole week for about 4 years....

Pliz to tell me there's no way we'd lose our cottage and our money because of a missed phone call?!

Muser · 02/07/2010 22:34

I am of the belief that drinking does not need to cease completely until week 6, so I would probably not POAS Cass. Nothing like a boozy weekend for diffment.

OP posts:
Casserole · 02/07/2010 22:30

surely this whole sentence thingy cannot be true

Sorry not been around much today all, been getting ready for going away for the weekend. Having to drop ministew and stewdog off first thing in morning and they seem to need more luggage than me!

Well, no-one commented on my to POAS or not POAS dilemna so I shall just see how the mood takes me in the morning... see if I remember before I stumble blindly into the toilet! Actually I don't even know where my one remaining pissstick is....

Back Sunday evening, hope you all have good weekends.

Aries so glad the mister called

RunLyraRun · 02/07/2010 22:29

Hee hee. Phone sex, RieRie?

Ariesgirl · 02/07/2010 22:07

God Lyra give us a chance. I only said he'd phoned! Imagine if the answer had been "Yes we are!!"
Give us a bloody chance Does it work? Yay!

And yay for the thus far pristine gusset Meds

Medee · 02/07/2010 22:00
Medee · 02/07/2010 22:00

I am still here

Marvellous!

Scorpette · 02/07/2010 21:59

You just put an asterisk at the start and end of the sentence

Muser · 02/07/2010 21:54

Have a lovely weekend.

And hooray for a safe return from the Ariesfella.

OP posts:
Medee · 02/07/2010 21:47

I'm going to be away tomorrow overnight, so won't be back till Sunday pm/night. Will report as soon as I am back to my computer as to the nature of my gusset (current status: still pristine.)

RunLyraRun · 02/07/2010 21:42

PHEW. Are you shagging right now, RieRie?

Ariesgirl · 02/07/2010 21:38

Thanks for your support during my menkulness everyone. It distracted me for a while! I LOVE YOU ALL

Where's my Casserole? Are you there? Are you alright?

Scorpette · 02/07/2010 21:32

PHEW! He could probably sense a gazillion BESH eyes glaring at him and nagging him to ring! Hope it put your mind at ease... for the meantime, at least!

I daren't tell my Dad you liked his Croaka-cola joke; he must receive no encouragements for his groan-worthy quips and puns.

HeadGirl, fanks for the hat flattery (hattery?) It sounds all go round yours. I hope you ended things off nicely by getting every into the pub for a proper knees-up raaahnd the old joanna

Gin, we is all here for you and you're not crap at being supportive. You can't put us off that easily, Missus. And to prove it, please to accept this lucky 'Brizzle Is The Shizzle' t-shirt I've bought for you to wear on Tuesday

You know you want to.

Medee · 02/07/2010 21:27

Good news, AriseSirGirl, what a relief.

I wanna know how to do bold sentences.

Ariesgirl · 02/07/2010 21:20

He just called. Phew does't begin to cover it.

ginhag · 02/07/2010 20:47

Hello...popping head in to send love to all. Aries hope you hear from him soon. Lyra if you still worried about text then maybe go for coffee n a chat? It's out in the open now after all. And I think what everyone said about her understanding why you found it hard and upsetting is very true.

everyone I heart you all loads and thanks for the support. Sorry I am currently crap at supporting back. Normal service will be resumed etc.
