Hi all,

Brand new thread!

I started it so I must get a BFP before the end - them's the rules.

OP posts:

Ladybee I'm so terribly sorry to hear your news, how unfair and crap

Have managed to avoid thinking about testing all afternoon by (a) visiting a friend for tea and staying until the shops were shut so i couldn't buy a CBD, (b) making a dress this evening and (c) packing for camping tomorrow.

Will use last internet cheapy in the morning, if the opportunity arises (i.e. I can sneak in when DP isn't watching). If it's BFN/inconclusive again, I'll probably have to wait till we're back from camping. Eek! Although RTD due on Saturday, so may not need to wait till we're back if it puts in an appearance meantime...

Will try to race on here in the morning in between packing the car/buying a cool box/buying some disposable nappies (reusables while camping is too hardcore for us) and let you know the result (because I know you're all on the edges of your seats. Ahem).

tigger15 · 21/07/2010 21:52

Ladybee sorry to hear your news.

RTD came this morning for me which means I have to undergo the horrible procedure which may resolve the issue or just lead to pain with nothing happening.

On the positive front I had a job interview today, have another one tomorrow and another one next week and am nearing finding a nanny for when ds starts school so not all bad. (If I'd got a bfp too I was planning on buying a lottery ticket just to see if my luck would hold).

I've updated the list below with my details. Cycle 15. That's depressing.

Ladybee so sorry to hear your very sad news. Thinking of you and your DP and do be kind to yourself

batteryhen · 21/07/2010 19:19

have done the list - not graduated anyone (thought you ladies might want to do that yourselves when ready x!) I have moved digi down to day 2 - I hope thats correct. ladyB I have left you where you are, you can decide in your own time if/when you want to move - I hope thats ok xx

News from me - I tested this afternoon and got BFN, am hoping its still too early. I can manage not to test too early in the mornings but seem to crumble in the afternoon. I am not going to test now until I am officailly late xx

ladybee I'm so sorry

not much to say on my part. Tested and of course got a BFN, don't know why I even bothered. Time to wait for OV now.

PrettyVacant1 · 21/07/2010 18:45

Oh LadyBee I am so,so sorry.
We're here for you whenever you need us.
Be kind to yourself.
Love to you and DP. xx

digitalgirl · 21/07/2010 17:46

loopy you may be right about the not wanting to bond bit. She knows about my mcs, and a few members of her family have struggled with ttc so I think she was gearing up for the same. She's such a strong independant woman that I forget that actually getting pg must also be terrifying for her as it can be for any woman. She's had a tough first trimester with constant sickness and exhaustion, it was just a little hard hearing her refer to her baby as wretched and how she toyed with the idea of getting rid (in a jokey way). But I guess for the moment she'll never really understand how it feels to long for a child you haven't got.
Am just venting niggles really, am sure it'll all turn out fine and we'll remain the bestest of best friends (I hope so anyway).

northerngoldilocks · 21/07/2010 17:31

LadyBee I'm so, so sorry to hear your news. Life is unfair. I don't know what to say to you at the moment as its the thing I'm currently terrified of happening. Thinking of you xx

digitalgirl · 21/07/2010 15:38

ladybee I am so very sorry this is happening again.

batteryhen · 21/07/2010 15:30

ladybee feel so for you. Look after yourself and DH. You are welcome to post any rants / sad thoughts on here any time you want. Big squeezes for you xx

delilahbelle · 21/07/2010 15:30

Hopefully I think I love you... testing 5 hours after a BFN is exactly the sort of thing I would do.
I testing this am (throw the fish at me now), am only 8dpo, but am already wondering whether to test this evening. Damn those internet cheapies.

delilahbelle · 21/07/2010 15:26

Ladybee my thoughts are with you. Look after yourself.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 21/07/2010 15:23

Ladybee I am so sorry. Big hugs to you. x

LadyBee · 21/07/2010 15:13

Hi ladies
I am incredibly sorry to say that I will no doubt be joining you again in the next month or so. Just had a scan due to spotting and discovered bean stopped developing at around 7 weeks (should be about 9 1/2 wks now ). We're going to wait and see whether I miscarry naturally in the next week or so - right now I want to curl up in a ball and not come out for a month. Am having incredibly uncharitable thoughts about the bint sat beside me in the EPAU complaining loudly on her mobile about the wait to be seen and wishing she could go outside for a fag. Argh, just once I would like to be the person walking out of the EPAU with a stunned smile on her face, clutching a little scan picture of a healthy beating-heart, properly-developing bean.

sigh.

I know, there are ladies on here with harder stories. Be gentle, I'll acknowledge other people's suffering just as soon as my heart stops feeling so squeezed.

lucysnowe · 21/07/2010 13:27

moof congrats on heartbeat and like the other say, the odds of m/c now are v. v. small... hope the rest of the pg goes smoothly now for you.

digi yes indeed cycle buddy tho I think I beat you this time, 42 days to your poxy 40 tch. let's hope we get some good news next time.

viv hmm, your temps are a bit confusing but it does look as though you oved when you think you did. Assuming it coincided with your last day of EWCM. You can get the odd 'wrong' temp but you have to ignore them - as long as the general pattern is low before ov, high after...

Hopefully · 21/07/2010 13:26

Right, wet fish at the ready, please.

I just did another test (umm... because testing again 5 hours after a BFN is likely to be a useful thing ), and it was, of course, BFN. Of course, being the weirdo obsessive that I am, I checked it just before tossing it in the bin, and there was the faintest of faintest of faintest lines. Now, this was right on the cusp of the 10 minute time limit, and a bit of googling suggests that internet cheapies are more likely than most tests to suffer from evap lines, so am far from optimistic, but am debating popping out for a CBD to test tomorrow morning. Have one more internet cheapy though, so wondering whether I should use that tomorrow, then get CBD in the highly unlikely event that it's positive.

Slap me now!

DG I know exactly how you feel. Someone I know has a foreign (non EU) partner - they had an accidental baby a couple of months after I had T, ended up together a year later (very sweet, I have no need to think evil thoughts of them). She is currently back in her home country and has just announced she is PG. They have been fairly open about the fact that it only took one try, and they mainly tried because they want her to maximise her visa chances, rather than burning desire for second child. I had a few unfriendly thoughts myself. I also think a lot of my friends (and family) think I am a slave to DS, as I have never left him with anyone but DP overnight (and only twice ever), and DP and I take him pretty much everywhere with us. All our family who are always talking about their next break from their kids, and who they can get to babysit next so they can go on a mini-break think we're bonkers, but we're happy

Battery sorry you had to do the supportive friend thing. I'm hoping none of my close friends announce pregnancies before me, as I will be bitter in the extreme, and probably not nearly as nice as you. Luckily most PG people I know are on DC2, which means that they are less inclined to talk about their pregnancy ALL THE TIME.

batteryhen · 21/07/2010 12:46

moof agree with all the others - the fact you have seen a HB is a really good thing - I know how anxious you are, but please try and relax - your bean seems to be doing fine

viv am bored to death of the 2WW too. I have never known time go so slowly.....

hopefully sorry about your BFN, however, I still think its not over till AF arrives - maybe you just tested too early. I am not preaching here - did a test ysterday afternoon on dpo9 this was also after drinking about a gallon of liquid as I have had a urine infection. Of course it was BFN. However I haven't tested again today - feel a bit crampy so feel I might be getting AF early. The old Biatch

Digi You sound like a lovely mummy to me. Anyone who thinks you are shit is clearly deranged. I have to admit when I fell PG in January - I was very relaxed about the whole thing, fell straight away etc etc, but having gone through the MMC I am now slightly obsessed with getting PG again. Its not that I had a 'don't care attitude' but I just thought - if it happens it does etc etc. Now though, things have changed, my maternal instincts are really strong, I just can't wait to get pregnant. Miscarriage changes you , no matter who you are. It is difficult when your friend has the don't care attitude - but you sound like you are being a lovley friend, which is all you can do I guess. Your bean is on its way - as are all of ours xxx

My friend told me last night she is pregnant - very early, but was asking me about midwife services, what not to eat, blah blah. - I really couldn't be arsed with all the questions etc but smiled and told her what she needed to know..... am happy really, just feeling a bit emotional as I know AF is coming xxx

Wave to everyone else xxx

WildSheepChase · 21/07/2010 12:40

I am going to do a big catch up in a sec, but...

I thought I had a 'normal' cycle (first proper one post m/c) since I had my son (2 years ago). I came on CD38, it made my LP 14 days, I know I ov'd on CD23. All quite positive really, though I had odd pregnancy symptoms but when I 'came on' assumed it was just pmt gone a bit bonkers. I tested on CD35 and got a BFN. So when the period went a bit odd and stopped/ started and had 'stale' bleeding, I tested on what would have been CD8 of a new cycle. It was a BFP. I got another this morning. I am completely confused and seeing my GP this afternoon.

I think I need 48 hour blood test rather than a scan, but I don't see how I could have a succesful outcome if I've been bleeding for 8 days... I've increased my aspirin as advised by GP last time.

If this goes wrong it will be m/c number 5.
