Thanks all for the congrats

v brief birth info, I have written whole thing on another thread, but don't want to put too much here. Basically I did hypnobirthing whole way way through, which worked amazingly. Arrived t hosp 7cm dilated and calm and fine. They thought she would arrive in a couple of hours, and ran birthing pool, which I didn't like, so got out after 30 mins! Basically I did 39 hours with hypnobirthing and some of the start of that with the tens machine on. It was all fine, and was in the zone, but sadly as it took so long, her heartrate started to drop so I had o have epidural and forceps (they prepped me for em cs and warned me it was likely) but that was just the last hour and she then came out fast.

All in all a fab experience, just bit sad about the end, but was for the best.

Am spending much time staring at her. She is just perfect

I'm kinda joining the dieters - have been trying for some time but given up in disgust at lack of progress, so did have free cookies on the train, but didn't have pudding in my gorgeous, relaxing, oasis in a busy life work hotel - just a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc

Think my body has decided to give me a hint re what CD I am on - have got the usual AF 3 day warning - a little spotting, cramps and monster PMT - not good when in the middle of a busy, uber stressful project ...

Oh well - onwards and upwards ...

Love it when it is busy on here Right, have been working since stupid 0'clock this morning - off to bed, without a serial snorting high decibel snorer - hooray !!

CurlyBigPants · 26/07/2010 21:55

MLS - you read my thoughts,, did we miss that in the Ajay birth story?? Where was your DH?

I should be doing the ironing but yet here I am!

MLS have to agree with your DH on Morven. Scottish and not in a good way, all pinced cat bum face and frizzy hair. Well all the ones I've met .

Diet day 1 in the Emmsy's grrenhouse (to be said in Big Brother geordie voice over).

Vjay - great start (tick)

louey - loved your photos!! I would back everything MLS says as she is indeed shewhoknowsaboutthisstuff . Other Acup fan here. got it free from my doc who is very into alternative mediciine. Went for three sessions but had fallen pg by third one...

4ever - big hand squeeze for you and S tomorrow, she'll be fine. You on the other hand may need some calpol.

Off to iron board - hurrumph.

Iggy - Your DD is just beautiful. Enjoy her and these precious first 24 hours xxx

mermaidspurse · 26/07/2010 21:28

vjay
oh god what are food points? I feel that I may not want to know this. Even more worrying what about drink points.

That just reminded me about cupcakes fermenting fruit

we tried lots of names but only ds's fit him if you know what I mean.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 21:12

'Scuse me...... on your own?????

VJay · 26/07/2010 21:00

Day 1 is nearly over, I had 20 points of food, went 2 points over, but I'm not too upset, will make up for it tomorrow. Oh and I'm following weight watchers incase you didn't get that.

mermaid how did you do today, and all my other diet buddies?

louey what is this exercise you talk about? I have been doing some walking, and chasing the ds's around, does that count?

It's lovely to see so many of us on here today

4ever give S a big reassuring squeeze from me tomorrow for her jabs

Thanks for the texts today with babyiggs name, that meant a lot

mls me and dh struggled to agree on a name for Ajay, so after I gave birth to him on my own, I rang him to say he was here and can I choose his name, what else could he say but yes

cupcakefairy · 26/07/2010 19:36

Have to agree i love how every1 gathers for big events still grinning for ig mls thats a lovely name! my dh was exact same about boy names hated everything i suggested, even jude. i eventually had a big go at him and made him decide which one he hated least! he really came round to jude then after a few wks. if we end up with loads of boys tho im so pulling rank & having a teddy & a benedict louey we're having bbq at the mo with pils & sil for dh birthday, v nice & baby is even behaving. mermaid at 'coffee'

BlueMoon1981 · 26/07/2010 19:04

thanks to everyone for your lovely welcomes back, i have missed you all, and i loved blue saying the mother ship was drawing us back in

no time to post properly just adding my congrats for babyiggs

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 19:01

Barbie our boys name is already sorted as it's left over from last time - we really have put zero effort into the boys name! The latest girls name I suggested is Morven which is a lovely Scottish name. He immediately said "No it sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings"!

Mermaid by 'coffee' I presume you mean 'cake'?!

mermaidspurse · 26/07/2010 18:09

louey I had accupuncture for quite a while and would recommend it and even though I never managed to hold onto my lo's it certainly added a good protective layer around me and helped with the stress of it all.
oh and excersise? me and jools are the gym bunnies and I think blue has dipped her toe back in hers too.

I had my ryvitta and then went out wit a friend for 'coffee' need we say more.

vjay how has today been? tis hard.

hoping iggy has counted and recounted toes a million times

barbie1 · 26/07/2010 17:55

Still 10 weeks left, im sure between you you will come up with a good name, and of course you dont have the added worry of having to choose a boys name too
what kind of names does he hate and you like???

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 17:41

Barbie every name I've suggested to dh he hates. He's not prepared to put any effort into it either & hasn't suggested anything. It's such an important decision & so far we've got nowhere.

barbie1 · 26/07/2010 17:17

so mls have you thought of any names since you are at the top of the list?????

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 17:09

Failing that you could start a thread on Mumsnet asking if anyone in your local area can recommend anyone.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 16:59

Louey how about this one? I don't think it's too far from you is it? It is on the association of ACMAC website so they will be genuine & affordable.

barbie1 · 26/07/2010 16:21

louey you should try at your local doctors or hospital, might have info on their websites for acupuncture...they have to be properly registered and if for medical reasons and opposed to relaxation/ treatments they should come under the same governing body, hence the list be supplied by the nhs etc

loueytbg · 26/07/2010 15:59

I think you're right....

You've reminded me that I have been meaning to ask you about acupuncture as I know you are theonewhoknowsaboutsuchthings

I had thought about doing it because I know my stress levels are pretty high at the moment and it will probably help with that at least. I'd rather do that then try the medicated route if poss. But I've never had it done before. How on earth do I find someone who is good?? Don't know anyone around me who has it done.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 15:22

Thinking about it, it sounds like your hormones might be out of whack. If your body doesn't produce progesterone in the second part of your cycle then you won't ovulate. Once again this is something that acupuncture can sort out quickly. It's the progesterone that makes your temp rise in the middle of the month so if you start temping again you may have more of a clue as to what's happening.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 15:18

Hmmmmm it's so frustrating when you have problems like this & you have to rely on the internet as you know the gp isn't going to help you, or that any tests will take months. I had cycle problems after dd was born. Af lasted anything up to two weeks & then every month on day 21 I had a two day bleed. I started taking vitamin B6 which seemed to regulate my cycle a bit but the thing that really made a difference was acupuncture. I had one session after the first mc (& before I started seeing the wonderful accu lady that I have now) & I noticed the difference straight away. The next af I had was much shorter & the blood was bright red instead of the old brown blood I had been having for the past year. I'd say go to the doctor but in the meantime if there is a good acupuncturist in your area then try that too as even just one session can make a difference.

loueytbg · 26/07/2010 15:06

mls was going to start temping again this cycle to see if I could pick up O. Hate doing it though will dig thermometer out tonight. CD21 blood test is not going to be much use on a cycle of 18 days. I had this problem before I had DTs. They sent me for the test and my cycles were around 21 days so they would be testing at the time AF was appearing. Ended up with clomid and then twins!!! Just don't want to be fobbed off by Drs. TMI - also no fertile CM either. Bleurgh. Why is it never simple??

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 14:59

Louey ask the doctor for a day 21 blood test. They take blood on day 21 of your cycle & it will tell you if you have ovulated or not. Do you take your temp? I wouldn't solely rely on opks's as they didn't work for me all the time. The only thing that did tell me without fail what was happening with my cycle was when I started charting.
