Just wondered as it seems most are totally underwhelmed when it comes to mentioning IVF on these threads. It could be that folk dont know enough about it to offer thier genuine best wishes. Anyway if you are like me and embarking on IVF, would love to hear your experiences.

sleeplessinhants · 28/11/2006 19:05

Hi all, just wanted to update you unfortunately we were not lucky this time but hope to try again sometime in the new year. In the meantime I wish you all the very best and will watch to see how you all get on. Take care x

sleeplessinhants · 24/11/2006 21:46

i don't remember being told to drink lots and i never drink enough at the best of times. Keep to water and avoid diuretics, sorry that's a bit too obvious. Good to hear injections are going okay did they give you one of the auto injectors, made life easy for a needle phobe like myself.

Schmauskin · 24/11/2006 21:23

Day 2 of injecting ( which is easier to do than I expected) but having trouble drinking the required 2-3 litres of water every day. I just pee all the time and have to stop any fluids at 7pm, otherwise ill be up all night on the loo! any tips....?

Transfer went well. First two defrosted ok leaving 3 in the deep freeze. Here's hoping the next 2 weeks go quickly

EllieHsMum · 14/11/2006 14:29

Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck been there 5 times & know how hard it can be
I've got everything crossed for you

Schmauskin · 13/11/2006 21:41

Hi sleeplessinhants - when I told my dh to expect me to be an hormonal bitch over the coming weeks he just rised an eyebrow and asked "so what's new"!! Madigan, I'm using the Lister Fertility clinic although I live in Wiltshire. How has the sniffing been going? Side effects? Do you feel better now you've started, 'cos for me waiting to start has been the worst!

Madigan · 13/11/2006 21:00

Schmauskin
I am in same boat as you .... been sniffing for about 10 days, and due to start injecting at the end of this week. where are you having your treatment? and how are you feeling?
I am coping ok - but can definitely feel the effects of the hormones.... excited too, that this might actually work (after 3 years of BFNs)

sleeplessinhants · 13/11/2006 16:24

Schmauskin, I didn't get to experience the sniffing but in answer to your question to some extent yes. But its a great excuse to be as rude as you like to people you don't

Schmauskin · 12/11/2006 20:16

Hello, I start on sniffing on Tuesday, first attempt (ICSI) - nervous as hell and anxious about side effects. I have 1 dd of 2.4 yrs but dh had mmps + orchitis last summer, so this is said to be our only chance of conceiving again. To those of you who have been here and done it - will I becoming a sobbing, raging hormonal bitch during the sniffing and injecting phase?

sleeplessinhants · 11/11/2006 20:49

Alip, How are things going?

sleeplessinhants · 28/09/2006 19:32

AliP, good luck! I am due to start preparation for GEEP next week, very nervous this time because I know how lucky we were the first time.

AliP · 26/09/2006 21:09

not been on mumsnet for ages - just started my injections to down reg so glad to find a thread i can be on - LSS how did it go?

Wishing you all the best.

had DS just using clomid but had numerous health problems since then so told IVF only chance so fingers crossed for all of us

sleeplessinhants · 25/09/2006 09:27

Littlestarsweeper, Have only recently found mumsnet, I see your message is somewhat dated !However if you are still interested I have one DS as a result of ivf icsi and am about to try again for second DC

hungryhippo · 31/08/2005 21:40

So no needles involved? Sounds a whole lot better than IVF already! I almost fainted the first time I had to stick that needle gun in my thigh.
Good luck with it all... it is stressful, but as it worked 1st time before, I guess you're going into it feeling relatively positive, which I think helps .

successful · 30/08/2005 11:25

Hi hungryhippo - FET is supposed to be easier . Which in comparison to IVF/ICSI it is!!

This is the 'plan'

on contraceptive pill 4 Aug - 14 Sept
15 Sept start sniffer 2 x a day 8am + 8pm
19 Sept 1st scan
28 Sept 2nd scan
3 Oct 3rd scan
7 Oct FET 'the transfer' down here we are only allowed 2 transfered.

DS is 20 mths and was a 1st attempt IVF/ICSI babe (did both so don't know which egg took)

hungryhippo · 29/08/2005 21:12

Good luck LittleStarSweeper

I have a DS through ICSI - he's now 7 months. I told everyone what was going on except my work colleagues / boss, as I didn't want office gossip spreading and people pitying me "behind my back" if it didn't work.
Have some frosties which I think we'll try with next time... successful, will you have to go through the whole drugs cycle again for FET, the same as for IVF?

Monstersmum · 29/08/2005 13:04

Hi LittleStarSweeper
Fingers crossed for you.

I had DS (now 4) through IVF/ICSI on first attempt. Haven't been able to try again for various reasons but now hoping to give it all a try in Nov. Sadly I didn't have any to freeze.

New doc tells me it's all different now - much shorter protocol apparently.

Will be thinking of you. I had 3 implanted and at the time the doc said they were just OK - not great quality. But he's gorgeous now!

successful · 25/08/2005 18:47

Only just caught this littlestarsweeper.

So sorry this is happening to you, hang in there, hopefully one will have made it.

I'm about tonight if you need to download.

Littlestarsweeper · 24/08/2005 20:42

Went to doctors who said to test again in two weeks in case one of the three embryos have hung on in there.

More waiting, but doubtful.
