dot1 · 24/07/2003 10:23

thanks everyone! Being pregnant obviously means I can't count, 'cos I'm only 4 + 2 weeks....!

Getting v. mild tummy ache on and off, so am worrying a lot (of course), but just spoke to my friend (only person I'm allowed to tell other than dp) and she said she got that aswell.

Right, I'm off - really don't want to turn into a v. boring person (yet!)

Marina · 24/07/2003 10:09

LucieB · 24/07/2003 09:30

Thats tremendous news, Dot, well done! Take good care of yourself

dot1 · 24/07/2003 09:26

Oh My God...... I did a test this morning (after my temperature had gone up on day 30!), and I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't begin to explain how I'm feeling - because I think I'm in shock!

I honestly never thought it could happen to me!

So, I make me to be 5 + 2 weeks at the moment!! Lots to do - I need to get book in an ante natal endocrine clinic so they can keep an eye on my thyroid stuff, and I was told to stop taking my Metformin, so that's done!

Right, I'll stop wittering.... v.v.v.v. worried about the next few weeks, so I'll stick to this thread if that's OK, before moving on to a pregnancy thread. Also feeling a bit bad that I'm deserting my original thread 1 people! But if it can happen to me......!!

niknik · 24/07/2003 09:07

HD I do think that for me when/if I do get the O it is a reliable indicator of ovulation as I do get a definate temp increase two days later. I think the problem is that with the unreliability of my cycles, it gets me to use the 8 tests sticks to early some months. I am going to continue to persevere with it though.
Good luck at the doctors next week Caydeb

quackers · 24/07/2003 09:02

Just a thought - bigbird, is it today you are due on??
HD that O symbol should be spot on. Check the lines on your test sticks for reassurance!

quackers · 24/07/2003 09:00

I will, thanks Bunny and HD. Miss you!!!

bunny2 · 23/07/2003 22:35

Quackers, it is only natural to be nervous. I know my next pg will be fraught, having had a mc. Keep us up-to-date with your progress here on this thread wont you? love Bunny

hewlettsdaughter · 23/07/2003 20:22

Thanks Niknik for your reply re Persona. I wonder how reliable the first 'O' is, judging by your and caydeb's posts. Bunny2, how's your lounge looking? Try not to worry, quackers! (easy to say, I know).

quackers · 23/07/2003 08:49

Hi Bunny2 thanks for asking! I'm ok thanks. Iam very nervous every day and don't feel pg particularly at the mo. I am about 5 weeks today, so still really early. Glad the Clomid has not given you side effects this month though. I didn't realise it had such a success rate. Sibble I'm sure will want to ask you all about it. Hope you get pg soon. They say don't think about it but if I hadn't have put so much effort and worry in last month, I wouldn't have got pg. Now I'm worrying even more! It never ends does it!!
Lots of luck and Luuurve evryone!

niknik · 23/07/2003 08:31

Morning everyone
HD - Re. Persona yes and no. When I first used it (with the 16 test sticks) it told me that I ovulated on Day 18 (of a 27 Day cycle) which obviously made me panic. But then the next cycle I had my O on Day 9 of a 21 day cycle so I think the poor machine is in confusion and it is almost constantly red.
I'm on Day 13 today and have no test sticks left to test, but there are two blue lines so I am hoping I will ovulate in maybe 2-3 days.
The same thing happened last month and I had a definate temp increase on Day 15 of a 28 Day cycle. I am having my progesterone checked next week so hopefully I will be able to get a better idea of why my cycles are so varied.

caydeb · 23/07/2003 00:57

I have been using persona for the past month and I got an ovulating sign this week on day 19 so no wonder I've been having problems with ovulating so late, but at least I am ovulating and have booked to see Dr next week for a check up.How is everyone else getting on with the persona?

hewlettsdaughter · 22/07/2003 22:44

Thanks bayleaf for reassurance - sorry things are not happening for you at the moment. Quackers - Persona is going ok, I should be doing my first test stick tomorrow. Welcome niknik, have you found Persona has helped you to know what's going on in your cycle?

bunny2 · 22/07/2003 22:32

Just checking in to say "hi", having a break from painting my lounge pink (pinker than I expected).

Sibble, I have recently started fertility drugs to start me ovulating. I dont know how long I wasnt ovulating for, but now I am. The Clomid worked first time and I did ovulate last month (though I didnt conceive). When I took Clomid last month (for the first time) I reported back some unpleasant side effects. I am now on my second course of Clomid (taken for 5 days at a time, day 2 - 7 of your cycle)and am happy to report no side effects at all. Good luck if you start on this treatment, it is apparently very effective in about 60% of women.

Quackers, how are you feeling?

bayleaf · 22/07/2003 20:29

HD - don't get down about not ov - it's far from automatic - I certainly think I ov'd after early miscarriages - both times I was pregnant again within 3 months ( oh for the days when dh's sperm swam!!)

OP posts:
BigBird · 22/07/2003 17:01

good luck dot1. At least the temp is still high and you can kind-of use that as an indicator instead of the tests.

dot1 · 22/07/2003 15:59

Bayleaf - sorry you're sounding a bit down aswell...

Meanwhile I'm on day 28 and temperature's still high so I'm still obsessing!

I've got some Acon tests, but I don't think they're as sensitive as Boots/other ones, and the really sad thing is that money's so tight I can't afford to go out and buy a Boots test!! This is probably good, as I'm probably not and it'd be a waste of money anyway - just have to wait and see. Pay day is in a week's time, so I'll know by then anyway!

Much luck to all on this thread..!

quackers · 22/07/2003 10:54

Oh Jemma7, bad news! However, Tillysmummy has defo proved these are not the best, so why don't you try a clearblue/first resp/boots?? No sign of AF either. Any symptoms??
Sibble, despite conceiving, my periods after m/c have been VERY irregular. I was using Persona so knew that they were funny. Started at 32 days and then 29, 26 and then it would have been 24 but I got pg. Very irregular and I was always so clockwork 28 days.
Is it worth asking for Clomid, like Bunny2. maybe she can shed some light on how long you have to wait to have it? Is it poss to have an earlier appointment with a consultant, or if you were impatient even go private.
Take carexxx
Hi HD, how's it going on Persona??
