at miffles
I picked my name when I was pg with DD1. We called her "B" when she was a bump (so that I was a mum to B - ha ha). I was really irritable and fidgety when I was first pg and my mum said "you've got a real bee in your bonnet today" and I thought no, I've actually got one under the bonnet. So it stuck. You're the first person who's ever asked, BTW! Where does miffles come from?

busymum05 · 05/06/2010 18:28

Seems great minds think alike, BUnder!! What does your name mean anyway?

Miffles · 05/06/2010 18:16

welcome beckylou, make yourself comfortable. There's a jug of mojitos going around, I think.

Hi,
I've having a confusing cycle this month - EWCM every couple of days, but only tiny amounts, and temps all over the place. Wouldn't expect EWCM in any amount for a couple of days yet, so . Getting fed up the SWI already this month too - too knackered...

(that should read - we dont get enough omega 3. we tend to have way too much omega 6 in our diets already)

Miffles · 04/06/2010 20:43

Ha ha ha!! Sorry, Prinpo I'm not sure if that was meant to make me laugh, but it really did!! That is so funny!

Evening primrose is meant to be good, but I would actually recommend flaxseed oil. Evening primrose has only omega 6, I think, which is not good to overdose on. In the Western world we tend to not get enough omega 6. Flaxseed oil is meant to have omega 3,6,9 in proportions 3:1:1.

Will let you know if it makes any difference....on angus castus (the tinctus liquid stuff), flaxseed oil, vitmain b complex, magnesium, calcium, q10 enzyme and multi-vit and mineral (with zinc). Thought i'd try and cover all bases!! This is all in a bid to get me to ovulate!!

Thanks for the sympathetic words. Much appreciated and helps knowing other people feel the same.

Prinpo · 04/06/2010 16:51

Hi Miffles, help yourself to mojitos. It's a magic jug that never runs out .

Sorry to hear that it's not been an easy run. I do remember debka from the Feb bus. No matter how close you are, it's hard to hear of anyone else getting pregnant when you're ttc for any length of time. I think there are a few of us around who are here for the long run so we'll grit our collective teeth and have the occasional wail at how unfair life can be.

I need to get some Angus Castus. I've started Evening Primrose. I actually heard something on the radio about how people are putting themselves in danger by buying Clomid online and taking it with no monitoring and all it made me think was, aha, maybe I'll get hold of some Clomid . Desperate? Moi?

Miffles · 04/06/2010 14:00

Hi all...been keeping a bit of a low profile, as kind of adjusting. As some of you may know, I'm waiting for a scan to confirm I have PCOS. Appt is next Friday.
DH and I have been having long talks and adjusting to the fact that I haven't gotten pg as quick as hoped and that it may require medical intervention.

Then my wonderful (not sarcastic, I promise, she really is!) sister announced her BFP. Those from the Feb bus know debka. Took me a little while to overcome my jealousy!! All good now, and am naturally very pleased for her.

Have started taking all sorts of supplements (including Angus Castus) to try and help me and will let things be. It helps knowing the ball is rolling. Also doing pilates and exercising more to control the weight.

In the meantime - pass me one of those mojitos!

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/06/2010 22:24

DH's not DH'd. Doh.

Ban caffeine, alcohol and all favourite foods too. Go on! Let us know how it goes....

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/06/2010 22:23

salad I suggest an all-out assault on your DH'd sanity, with obsession about his underwear, bath temperature and banning of laptops being a good starting point. You could then move on to insisting he perform pagan fertility rituals at new moon. Then handing over the pot of swimmers will not look so alarming - see, there's logic here....

Saladbomb · 03/06/2010 21:59

thanks for the tips, i might have to make myself a little mumsnet sticky for my desk top for quick ref of abrvs. :D havent tried liquid iron, but will check it out.

thanks for popping me on the list bunderthebonnet

hmm, wonder how alarmed DH would be if I start bulk buying pee sticks. hes only just getting over the fact he's got to hand over a pot of his swimmers in a few weeks time.

8rubberduckies · 03/06/2010 20:30

Thanks bunderthebonnet, good tip, I may stock up like you have if my next cycle at all resembles the last one. I was waiting around to ovulate for ages and had two false starts when Fertility Friend told me I'd maybe ovulated before confirming I actually had on CD31!

Prinpo · 03/06/2010 19:29

Hello Salad. Dark choc and guinness sound good! Have you tried liquid iron? Doesn't clog you up, so I hear.

busymum the EW refers to, ahem, egg-white, ie the consistency you're looking for. Who'd have thought that it would be a cause for celebration but on these boards it is .

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/06/2010 19:28

EWCM is egg white cervical mucus - basically stretchy and gloopy like egg whites - and it's the most fertile stuff.

AF is Aunt Flo. Other boards use RTD (red tide of doom). BD is baby dancing (sex) but SWI seems to be gaining in popularity (sex with intent), along with SFF (sex for fun).

While I'm at it, CD = cycle day, UCL = usual cycle length, ttc = trying to conceive, pg = pregnant, BFP = big fat positive (on a pg test), BFN = Big fat negative. Can't think of any others off the top of my head...

I'll plonk you on the list Salad.

hey ladies, is there room for a newbie on the march bus? been reading this thread and checking the acronyms, mumsnet has begun to make more sense! AF doesnt appear but I'm guessing its Aunt Flo? :D

been TTC in ernest since the beginning of the year but havent been taking precautions for lot longer than that so not really sure what to put as 'cycle' but will start from the beginning of the year (to make me feel less down hearted!)

saladbomb ttc#1 cycle 6 UCL 27-28 CD1

AF came today after 2 day delay so i was beginning to get my hopes up, trying not to be too disappointed. OH is away and also found out i have anemia yesterday so off to the shop for dark chocolate and guiness to cheer myself up!

busymum05 · 03/06/2010 18:51

hi sorry im quite new to mumsnet what does EWCM mean im guessing CM is cervical muscus...please explain i don't want to be left out lol x

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/06/2010 18:34

Hey, almost forgot - EWCM today! How exciting is that? A bit early in my cycle, so that's confusing. Maybe I'm in for a short one this month...

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/06/2010 18:31

Budge up rubberduckies. Some idiot just ran into my car and it's undriveable, so alcoholic bus riding seems like the only way forward...

As for OPKs, I use a brand called "one-step" (in white and green packaging, they do pg tests too in white and blue packaging) and I have got them from Amazon and Ebay before. They are reliable for me, and are cheap - the more you buy, the cheaper they are. I bought 50 last time, with 15 pg tests too as a bundle - about £15 with delivery . They deliver quickly too. I am going to attempt a link to Ebay ovulation test auction. They also sell smaller bundles if you're not insane you wnat to see how you go with them first. With this brand, you don't use your first morning urine - you do them later in the day - and it recommends not drinking for a little while beforehand to make the urine more concentrated (nice...). They're a bit trickier to read than pg tests, because you're waiting for the line to go darker, not just "appear". You can get digital OPKs but they're a lot more expensive. HTH.

8rubberduckies · 03/06/2010 12:14

Hey Prinpo can I sit next to you and snaffle all your Mojitos please?

I have questions for all of you who use OPKs... Are they worth the money? Can you get cheaper yet still reliable ones on the innternet? I'm not using them yet as waiting for my cycles to settle down, but may well give them a go.

Prinpo · 02/06/2010 21:55

Hey everyone,

Just hopping on from the Feb bus. This month I've brought an extra large jug of mojitos, copious amounts of chocolate and our own beauty therapist who's on hand to offer free manicures, pedicures and massage.

Feeling a tad fed up so I'll keep it brief but here are my stats:
