decaf I think you are me two days in the future. Am 15dpo and still no period. It'll probably come tomorrow. Can you tell me when your temps rise this cycle as I will clearly be just about to ovulate.

Have ordered The Guide to PCOS book. I just want to have normal cycles.

Rockbird · 08/06/2010 11:44

Hi Decaf, sorry to see you here I'm also on Agnus Castus, although mine says 100mg x 2 twice a day so I'm up to my ears in them! Add that to the Pregnacare and I rattle when I walk!

I'm back from holiday and DH was back just in time to squeeze in a quickie. Loads of EWCM yesterday (sorry!) so might have another go tonight (it's a chore...) and then I'm symptom spotting kicking my heels till the 25th or thereabouts. Fun fun fun...

debka · 08/06/2010 11:06

sorry

Orchid12 · 08/06/2010 08:28

Hi Decaf,
Sorry to hear your news. I know how you feel . I'm just about to go to the docs myself so have to be quick, but I have taken Agnus Castus for the last two cycles and they have been perfect (aside from not being PG of course!). I bought 1000mg and take two a day until I ovulate and then not again until the next cycle. When I had a long, annovulatory cycle in Feb, towards the end of the cycle I started taking the Agnus Castus to kick start things and I started with 4 a day! My reflexolgist approved of this dose and within 4 days my period started. It may have been co-incidence but given the past two cycles have been perfect too I'm not sure it is.

Also, I only stopped BF properly in Feb, so am now wondering if that has got anything to do with it as I am still producing small amount of milk (apologies if that is TMI!).

Got to dash or I'll be late for the doc!
Orchid

decafgirl · 07/06/2010 22:31

Thanks so much Prinpo I do feel really down but the only way I can deal with things is to try and 'fix' it but it's not always that easy is it?

This is the first time my LP has altered so I was really hopeful this time.

I'm looking into reflexology and seeing the GP on Friday

Also thinking about Agnus Castus - does anyone know how much I need to take?

Prinpo · 07/06/2010 21:42

decaf, I'm so sorry to hear that AF got you. You must be feeling really miserable and fed up. I hope you're looking after yourself tonight.

I can't see what harm a trip to your GP would do. I don't know how old you are but, as I'm sure you know, if you're older then it's recommended to go after 6 months (advice that I'm ignoring at the ripe old age of nearly 39). With such irregular periods it must be incredibly difficult to know when to SWIing. It's all very well someone saying, "Well, just have lots of sex" but life isn't always like that and it's disheartening and can really put you off if you try month after month. You could at least discuss your options and know what's available to you.

I remember from the Feb bus how hopeful you sounded so my thoughts really are with you.

Miffles · 07/06/2010 21:36

Decaf and digi - irregular cycles suck!!! I am not sure whether I'm more or less fortunate that my cycles are super often - the last 4 have been about 17 days apart. But pathetic ones. So not convinced I'm ovulating at all.

I'm trying to cover all bases with weight loss, supplements, going for reflexology soon, exercising, relaxing more and also waiting for my PCOS ultrasound. Yeish - I'm exhausted just re-reading all of that!! Just as well men don't have to do all of this, or we'd never have children!!!

My doc said that since my periods had been irregular for months and we suspected PCOS he'd refer me to get that diagnosed. If it was positive, then I could go onto fertility specialist for clomid. If not, I'd have to wait 12 months before referring - so make sure you tell your GP the longest you can feasible say that you've been TTC!!

And debka - push off!! You're already pg!! You know you'll get TMI about your little sis if you keep hanging around here! x

8rubberduckies · 07/06/2010 20:28

Hi decafgirl, have shared my commiserations on the Charters Anon thread, but, again, I'm really sorry AF got you. I know all about irregular cycles so I know how frustrating and depressing it can be.

Am thinking about getting some money from somewhere for acupuncture and / or reflexology [sneaks off to find money-tree-growing instructions on dodgy website somewhere) if I don't conceive over the next few months and start getting more regular cycles, before I go down the Clomid route. maybe you should give it a go too?

In the meantime my presciption for you is, kick back, get drunk and eat some chocolate

digitalgirl · 07/06/2010 19:15

Depends on how clued up your GP is. I think *you can definitely say your cycles are irregular and get yourself tested for PCOS. If you're not too sure about your GP then ask to be referred to a gynaecologist.98

Am also wondering whether clomid would sort me out. But also wondering whether to pay for another series of acunpuncture sessions. I had them when ttc DS for the cycle before the cycle that I conceived. It's more expensive but a much more gentle way of influencing my body's hormones. 8888

Must dash, DS is attempting to add to this post.

Positive OPK today!!!!! That means I will probably ovulate on Wednesday, going on previous performance. SWIed last night and will do for the next few nights so we should have all our bases covered. Looking like a normal length cycle as well.

Now, this part of the cycle is more interesting....

Thanks digi just had a meltdown on the phone to my mother. We really don't have that kind of relationship. Her advice? Give up for 3 months. Not what I need to hear really but I'm sure she was trying to help

Am just in the process of writing down all my cycle lengths from ttc DS and from August 09 so GP can see how odd they are.

First time round I had (in days)
36, 44, 67, 45, 68, 39, 36, 33

then this time I've had
34, 37, 53, 31, 32, 34, 46, 49

Do you think I'm a candidate for Clomid? I do think I ovulate but it's just really unpredictable...

digitalgirl · 07/06/2010 17:23

decaf so sorry , that's so rubbish. Hope your gp can help. Let me know what happens as I've got an appointment next week. Big medicinal glass of red tonight and a slab of chocolate is in order.

decafgirl · 07/06/2010 15:47

Really wish I hadn't read your post mif... TMI for your big sis!!!!!

(serves me right for lurking on a thread I have no right to be on! )

Orchid12 · 07/06/2010 10:13

Prinpo Oh yes, a tequila slammer or ten sounds perfect - especially given that I'm sat at my desk and it's 10am! Bring em on...

Roll on the SWI in a couple of weeks. At least until then we can sit back and enjoy the tequila without feeling guilty!

Love to all, Orchid

Prinpo · 06/06/2010 22:45

Hi Orchid, sorry AF got you but nice to see you here on the bus. Personally, I've moved on to tequila slammers. Anyone care to join me?

BUnderTheBonnet, I agree about this stage of the month feeling like a waste. I quite like drinking wine and having runny eggs with soldiers but at least when we start SWIing again I can kid myself for a while that I may be pregnant.

Orchid12 · 06/06/2010 20:37

Hi,
AF got me yesterday so I'm over here on the March bus now. This cycle is now one longer than when we conceived DS1 so I'm hoping it's our turn soon . Am trying not to be so obsessed this month, and am being nicely distracted by needing to look for new jobs for DH!

So, pour me a mojito someone and I'll pass you some nice homemade chocolate cake in return.

Gaargh! Amused.

BUnderTheBonnet · 06/06/2010 20:05

Yep, at least the 2ww has all the symptom spotting to keep you amised, and the "am I, aren't I" thing. This bit is just a waste of time.

Nothing to report here. I find the first part of the cycle worse than the 2ww to be honest.

Miffles · 06/06/2010 18:00

Didn't fully understand your explanation, til I read it out loud - a mum to B!! It all makes sense now.
Miffles is actually my childhood nickname that only my closest family used. My sister (debka) is 19 months older and she used to be asked what her baby sisters name was. She couldn't pronounce it and Smith (not exactly hard!!) came out Miff. And so I became Miff or Miffles. When I signed up, I had a total blank as to what to call myself, so decided on that. Unfortunatly it meant my sister immediately recognised me on MN!!

Had a good SWI weekend. Or in my case, that should be S without I, as am not expecting to get pg!! Have my scan on Friday for the PCOS, and will take it from there. DH and I are feeling positive again, which is good.

Hope your DH is able to be patient with you busymum and you can get down to it again soon. Fingers crossed.
