vnewmummy, many many congrats to you. So happy for you. Keeping my fingers crossed for a super sticky one.

Boba, hope HSG went/goes well today.

Harry pleased everything was fine at your scan.

Tango and Storm hope you manage to DTD at the right time.

Choccie, sorry you're back at CD1. Go and treat yourself. It always makes me feel a bit better if I indulge in retail therapy/cakes/chocolate.

Still no AF for me and feeling no different apart from really sore (.)(.). They're really painful when I try to hug DS/DH ... like burning pain that takes a while to subside. Could it be a sign? Know I shouldn't be symptom spotting but vnewmummy, do you have any symptoms to report?

Good luck to everyone else.

vnewmummy · 19/08/2010 09:54

Hi everyone

OMG I scared to type this as so early and dont watn to jinx it but I got my BFP today. (2 days early)I am of course really happy just a bit nervous.

I have done 3 tests just to make sure and all positive although lines still a bit light.

I think it was a combination of the following:

Clomid and IUI - privately at CRCH
Acupuncture - 3 sessions over last month
Relaxed, as not long back from holiday and took time off work too.
Decaf coffee and no booze which was the hardest thing for me.

We still BD every other day from day 9 and waited 3 days before IUI was carried out.

I will keep testing over next few days as last year i had 2 BFP but after 10 days AF arrived. So FX.

xx

StormBird · 19/08/2010 08:56

Tangotime congrats on the high and good luck for the SWIing.

chocciechip sorry AF got you hun. I'm definately up for a bit of dancing too when you get your BFP.

Well got a smiley face on a CB Digi OPK yesterday and was all set to get down to business when me and DP had a mahoosive row and then he broke my laptop screen. Stupid git! Anyway, he's grovelling now and I've told him I can forgive him but for the time being I'm still mad at him Grin . So we'll prob make up tonight and get a bit more BD time in, I just hope I haven't missed my window cos of a silly row. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose. (I'm pretty sure I've got OV pain today though)

chocciechip - sorry for cd1 again, I felt awful this month - 24mths for us. I must be unusual too - as the same thing hurts me!!
I will dance too when you get your bfp - why not arrange our bfp's for same time - when do you fancy? Grin

TangoTime · 18/08/2010 19:52

I've not had much to report until today but see that there have been some highs and lows.

My first event on the CBFM is that I've had my first recorded high on CD 11. Funnily enough it coincided with a skin outbreak (I've always had good skin but since coming off the pill I keep getting spots with all my hormones).

Unfortunately DH is out of the country on business. He lands back tomorrow morning so I'm planning an ambush when I see him in the evening. Do they need to be awake for an ambush? Grin. I'm just hoping the tactic will pay off!

Hi ladies and hullo all the new people.

I've had a cr*p month with loads of work and also had spotting constantly from 6DPO until today, when AF as just arrived 2 days early. I wasn't PG - -'ve on all tests. I do think something might be wrong though so am fretting a bit.

harry I would have cried with relief too if I was in your shoes. Great news for you!

boba good luck for tomorrow. I've had an HSG exactly where you'll be going. It's not as bad as you think it might be - period crampy, if that. For me, the worst part was that ^&*%$ thing they use when they give you a smear test... for some reason I find that really sore (but think I might be unusual in that regard). Take ibuprofen and paracetemol before going in although I don't think I did that and don't think I needed to. Only thing that surprised me was I couldn't have DH in the room with me - I have become very used to having me hold my hand through everything and hated not having him there too. He came and waited in the waiting room, and I felt a bit emotional afterwards (I always do around hospitals and all this is stressful, isn't it) so was glad he was there when I came out. But very good luck - honestly ... it'll be fine. x

vnewmummy would love to hear more about your IUI experience and how it works. DH very keen for us to try that before IVF if we get to that stage of things. Really hoping you get a BFP!

keziah I'll dance around the room if you get a BFP. You've been through the mill. Hang in there.

I'm off to get drunk I think, finding each CD1 harder and harder to get through as the months roll by. We'll have been TTC for 18mths now, and there's no doubt now that I will be over 40 when I have my first child..... if I ever get there.

Keziahhopes · 18/08/2010 17:10

Congrats Harry - let us know how 9wk scan goes.

row - I went from lows, to one high to peak this month, so if you can bd every other day right now I am sure that would be fine, and you will probably get peak very soon anyway. I was told to not bd every day anyway to improve semen numbers etc.

row78 · 18/08/2010 15:46

congraulations harry!

Can Ihave a bit of advice from you ladies? I think I usually ovulate on day 15, but can't be sure. I'm on CD 10 and CB is still saying low fertility, however yesterday I have quite a bit of ewcm. We BD yesterday but should I keep doing so? My niece is staying and last night she got stung by a wasp just as we were getting jiggy with it so it's not that easy at the moment! Should I trust the ewcm or CBFM?

vnewmummy · 18/08/2010 15:25

Harry i am so pleased for you. Hopefully now you will be able to relax a little and enjoy your pregnancy. Big hugs xx

Harry2007 · 18/08/2010 13:32

Well Boba I can't believe it! No telegram! I think you should complain {grin}

I've just had my scan - was expecting another internal but she did an abdominal. She warned me beforehand that I wouldn't really be able to see much difference from last week but that she would check that the gestational sac was growing. It was obvious that the sac had indeed grown - it had doubled in size. As she was prodding around she said, see that white flickering light there, that's your baby's heartbeat. Needless to say I cried Blush She said it was a shock to see it so early because I didn't actually ovulate until day 17 so although I am 6 weeks by last LMP, I'm actually only 5 and a half according to ovulation date.

The sense of relief is absolutely amazing.
Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I'm going back at 9 weeks for another scan but as the heartbeat has been seen, the risk of miscarriage is greatly reduced.

vnewmummy · 18/08/2010 11:44

Hi Boba and Keziah I think I will just have to test early tomorrow morning as I am not know for my patience!

I am on cycle 15 but CBFM cycle 5 or 6 i cant remember now!

We really need to see some BFP's on here soon as i think Angel was last in early May... FX for us all. xx

vnewmummy OMG I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed for you! How on earth you're managing to hold off POAS I don't know?! I agree about the energy levels after acupuncture. I had to miss my session yesterday :( Good luck hun x x x

Thanks Rosie hope your CBFM or cycle sorts itself out soon. Maybe new sticks'll do the trick.

Thanks for the well wishes storm

Thanks lychees how are you doing now?

Well I am very disappointed to say Harry I did not receive a telegram from the queen for reaching CD100. The bloody cheek!!

How did your scan go Harry? x

Hi Ladies!

Harry, baby is in the right place now so I am sure it'll all be good tomorrow.

vnewmummy, wishing you masses and masses of luck for Saturday.

Rosie, hope the CBFM detects your surge next time [that is, if you don't get your BFP which you still have every chance of getting].

Boba, good luck for you HSG on Thursday [in case I don't manage to check in here tomorrow].

Keziah, hope your first private appointment comes through soon.

Hi to anybody else, I've missed .... Starlet, Row, Jenni, PinkCustard* ......

StormBird · 17/08/2010 19:32

Hello everyone,

vnewmummy I have my fingers crossed for you that this is your month.

Still hanging about girls, just not CBFMing this month - which is proably not advisable as it is still learning my cycle but needs muct eh!! I have set it though so its on the correct cycle day.

Harry can't believe its 6wks WOW, thats gone quick. I have every confidence all will be ok for you.

Lychees Keziah - good luck going private, I hope it works out well.

Boba Best wishes for HSG, here's hoping your experience is well worth it.

Well I'll check in again soon. I hope to see a BFP Smile

xx

vnewmummy · 17/08/2010 18:48

Hi everyone! Gosh its great to see so many new names in just 3 weeks. My PC has been broken so not had a chance to catch up and read all posts yet.

Boba good luck for Thursday and Harry I am sure everything will be ok hon. Will be thinking of you.

Well a quick update from me, if you can remember this is the month the DH and I have done clomid and IUI privately.

It all went well and all I have to do now is wait until Saturday before I do pregnancy test. FX. I have also had 3 sessons of acupuncture and feel such a difference in my energy levels. I expalined that we were doing fertility treatment this month so he focused on that.

It has been the longest 12 days ever just waiting to find out.

It feels good to be back.... xx

rosieposey · 17/08/2010 14:04

Boba, just googled HSG (have been offline for a few days and didnt know what it was) good luck with that - really hope it throws up some clues for you - it must seem like ages and such a long road but when you get that bfp it will be well worth it :)

Harry, keeping everything crossed for you - 7 weeks already! Its flying by (well probably not for you i guess as i remember the first 12 weeks being a bit of a grind.

I gave Clearblue a call and she agreed it did sound a bit Confused although she said i shouldnt use the cb digi in conjunction with the cbfm, i explained i didnt and it was a good job i took notice of my body and took that random opk otherwise i would never have seen that surge. They are sending me another box of sticks to use as the likelihood is that i will get highs for the rest of this cycle (she said it is waiting for my surge) but of course its probably already passed. I will send it back next month if it does this consistent high thing for the whole bloody cycle.

boba82 · 17/08/2010 13:35

So will I Harry Wink

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 17/08/2010 13:06

Harry hope your scan tomorrow reassures you.

Boba I took painkillers before the HSG and to be honest I was absolutely fine after it. The painful part for me was at the start of the procedure, opening the cervix (think that is just me though!) - the actual test was fine, just mild discomfort and it did pass. The staff were so lovely. I had an early night, hot water bottle and all was ok.

Starlet Know what you mean, have to focus on "now" ... and testing process is part of that. I am waiting for referral and wait, but know once get seen there is no more waiting lists Smile.

Harry2007 · 17/08/2010 12:22

Hi Ladies,

Lychees and Keziah I really hope you're private treatment will result in a BFP for both of you soon x

and good luck Boba with the HSG (let us know if you receive the telgram from the Queen tomorrow - I'll be mighty disapppointed if you don't get it {grin})

Those CBFM reading sound odd rosie I'd definitely give them a call to see what they suggest.

I have my second scan tomorrow at 10.30am. I'm really nervous about it because it was 6weeks to the day that I started bleeding last time and I'll be exactly 6 weeks tomorrow.

rosieposey · 17/08/2010 09:53

Starlet, i might just do that. The :) on the cb opk was the day before yesterday and i was hoping that my temp would have gone up this morning in accordance with ov perhaps yesterday but my son woke up at 4am and although i took a temp (it hadnt risen) it was much too early - i woke up again at my usual time two and a half hours later and took it again and it was higher than all the others but perhaps that was because i had a disturbed night - ill see what tomorrow brings. Starlet i think even a small up in temperature can indicate ovulation has taken place from what i have been reading, i will have a nose at the charting thread later on today as well for more info.

Yet another high on the CBFM today, might give them a ring and ask if thats normal - i know sometimes you dont get peaks but i never seem to get a low either - im glad i tested with those two opk's otherwise i would never have known about my (very short) surge.

Rosie - sorry to hear things are abit all over the place with your CBFM, OPK and charting. I've just started charting properly, although wondering if I shouldn't have! I always get a peak with the CBFM but I'm not convinced I am actually ovulating as I got a mini temperature surge ... I might pop over to the charters anonymous thread and ask them for their views (you might want to do the same).

Keziah - thanks for the info. Do keep us posted as things progress. I am in a bit of a similar position in that DH and I got married nearly 9 years ago. We haven't been TTC as long as you but I am starting to have regrets that we didn't start TTC sooner. DH brings that up (he wanted to try earlier) but I wasn't ready before and, after all, there is no point in wallowing in the past (at least that's what I'm telling him and me!). Anyway, please do keep us posted and good luck! X
