Hello ladies,

MisseyRaines - must feel great to have handed in your notice. I know what you mean about not wanting to start your new job knowing you are PG - the thought has crossed my mind (several times). I have drafted my CV but haven't really had much time to get it in circulation due to being too busy at work (too busy to look for a new job .... what a cunning way to keep people!!). Anyway, it is just a matter of time - I am hoping to get my CV out into the big world this week but am also considering taking a bit of R&R in between jobs .... Anyway, just want to say congratulations and good luck with the new job!!

Harry - how are you?? Am so cross about the lack of proper medical care you have been receiving. I assume the bleeding has stopped? When is your next scan? It's not right that you have to pay to receive the proper care but at least this way you will have more peace of mind. Keep us updated.

Keziah - good news re your appointment on 24th! Am sure your egg reserve will be just fine. Your poor DH to have another SA... obviously it's much less intrusive than our tests and treatments but they do seem to find them difficult, don't they (or perhaps it's just my DH!!).

Boba - good luck tomorrow! Our appointment is in three weeks - it's NHS so we'll see what they have to say. Hopefully they can get a move on with whatever tests are needed but I guess we'll see. I'll keep you all posted!

Storm - if you're still around, have a great break. Also, can't belive you're not going to test again till Sat!! That's will power!

Essence - hope you did the deed last night (and don't forget Lychees' tip for 5DPO! - Hi Lychees!).

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all coping with your TTC stresses. XX

Keziahhopes · 01/09/2010 18:21

Menevit - £43ish for 3 months including postage from Australia.

www.menevit.com.au/where-to-buy-menevit

I used Cincotta Discount as the cheapest. Not advertising them, don't know if it is any good, and if dh's SA ok then doubt needed but my dh has poor morphology, viscosity and lower end numbers.

Will report when have his 4th test with 1month of this in his system!!

Keziahhopes · 01/09/2010 18:08

Boba - yes, I think knowing more tests ahead and seeing a new consultant is what I needed - being told 6yrs of ttc#1 not enough by first consultant didn't do much for my mood/the septacemia!! Great you know you have medication to start soon - so hope HSG all clear for you (and if not clear, maybe that is why not preg?!)

Storm - gosh, hope next few days go ok for you!

Oh - we have been recommended for my dh to take MENEVIT supplements for his health and semen by our clinic. He was taking Wellman product but his 3 SA's over 9 months got worse each time, so just got 3 months supply of Menevit. Only thing is you can only get them from Australia, but not over expensive (compared to private fertility tests anyway!!) postage and came within a week of ordering.

Harry2007 · 01/09/2010 17:59

Hi Stormbird

If I was you, I'd have been running to the nearest shop for another pregnancy test! If af doesn't turn up tomorrow, will you do another? Wink

Well ladies, ended up phoning the early preg unit last night and on their advice, went in at half eight. When I arrived, I was basically told off for being there! Even though I was bleeding and in pain. I was made to feel like a complete inconvenience to the staff and ended up leaving without even seeing a doctor and hysterically crying. Mind you, I shouldn't be surprised as when I went to a&e last Wednesday when I was bleeding, I was basically told that there was no-one to scan me and that in any case, ultrasounds cause damage to the baby. Now, unless these nurses have carried out some kind of research on the effect of ultrasound that the rest of the world is yet to be informed of, what they're telling me is totally unsubstantiated - and I informed them as such. So I'm basically in a position where I'm bleeding with period like cramps and no-one will help me. I'm so distressed and exasperated that I've just booked all my ante-natal with a private hospital, who, I might add, will be scanning me a minimum of four times between now and twelve weeks - damaging to the baby eh, cost saving exercise at the risk of the life of mother and baby more like.

Sorry to rant but the treatment I've had is absolutely dispicable Angry

StormBird · 01/09/2010 13:26

Hi Everybody,

Been trying desperately not to obsess over this TTC lark, hence the reason why I have refrained from posting too much.

Blimey....loads has been going on hasn't it!

Harry Hope you are ok. Sorry you are bleeding again. Kepp us posted on how you are getting on. I have my fingers crossed for you that its just 'one of them things' and nothing major.

Starlet Sorry AF got you....soldier on girly you'll get your BFP I know it.

Missy congrats about the Job. Thats great news.

Anyone else I have missed inc. Boba Lychees essence Keziah etc etc etc HELLO Smile

I'm due on tomorrow....for some unknown reason decided to take a PG test this morning. I don't have any symptoms of PG nor do I have any AF symptoms. It was only an internet cheapy dipstick thingymebob. But there was a line!! and it was there I know it was, it was feint tho and it disappeared within a few seconds. Evap line methinks. So awaiting AF's arrival tomorrow. Expecting her as usual at 10am on the 28th day of my cycle!!! Boohoo!

I'm going away tomorrow too, so won't be able to let you lovely ladies know if AF arrives or not until saturday.

I keep going through all these different emotions about wanting a BFP and then not wanting a BFP and then when I don;t get one I'm gutted but when I do I know I'll be shitting myself.

Must get back to work....will post again soon.

Good luck to you all.

Morning all

starlet sorry AF got you hun Sad When is your appointment at fertility clinic? Is it NHS or private?

harry sorry you're bleeding again hun, hopefully you've had your scan by now & everything is ok? Don't you dare leave us!!

Keziah roll on the 24th for you then eh?! Smile great that it's perked you up hun.
If all is clear with HSG tomorrow then I pick up tablets straight away to help me ovulate. They're then going to track progress over 10 week urines. Will find out more tomo if all is clear FX.

Thanks again for your advice CBFM gurus. I tried to ring the helpline last night as you suggested lychees but as I live outside of the UK I wasn't able to. Both my landline and mobile wouldn't connect as it was an 0870 number. I have asked a friend to call today for me so will let you know what they say about whether or not the CBFM will give peaks if you don't actually ovulate. Meanwhile, I have booked a doctors appointment for Monday so hopefully I will get some answers. As I am out of the UK I can go straight to a gynecologist so hopefully I should be able to get some blood tests done.

Thanks again for having me on your thread :)

Keziahhopes · 31/08/2010 22:42

Harry - please stay here, for your support and also to encourage us! Sorry you are bleeding, hope you still able to rest!

Lychees - wow, you got lots done and ordered (so much quicker private isn't it - took me 8months to get to HSG on NHS sadly).. and wow, 5 days post ovulation, gosh maybe that is why some of us not got BFP's, I too give up after 2nd peak!! Ok, roll on next peak!! Smile Great to know you have good reserves!

Missyraines - sorry about BFN, but well done on new job!

Starlet - ouch with work stress. Sorry AF got you too. I have had all basic tests, HSG and bloods and 3 SA's for dh - so now have an appointment at the new hospital on 24th for AMH test to check egg reserve (so scared about that) and a 4th SA for dh!! Only found this out today - so excited, as been so low with waiting for rest of tests and being told issues with both of us by NHS consultant (who incidentally is the consultant at out nearest private clinic, guess why we not chosen that one!!) but keep trying for another 6mths!! Uh, done that for 6yrs now!!

Boba - great you have HSG soon (mine was fine) - what next for you after that?

essenceofSES · 31/08/2010 19:54

Harry - you absolutely should be on this thread!

So sorry for the bleeding. As you've already had successful scans, it is likely to be fine but I know that doesn't stop the worry. Are you able to get a scan tonight or tomorrow to put your mind at rest?
Hope things settle for you soon and the rest of your pregnancy is less of a rollercoaster.
((((hugs))))

Lychees - pleased your appointment went well. Hope the extension of 5 days to the SWI produces results for you (and us all!)

Missyraines - I guess at least you have something to be positive about this month with the job situation :)

Starlet - sorry for work taking over for the last few weeks. Hope things calm down for you.

Boba - good luck for Thurs if I don't get on again before

Harry2007 · 31/08/2010 19:35

Wow - Everyone has so much news!

So pleased to hear about your job missyraines

Very insightful appointment lychees !

Hugs to everyone who has seen af arrive xx

I'm bleeding again, started about an hour ago. I think I'll have some kind of breakdown by the time this pregnancy ends - whichever way it's actually going to end... I know I probably shouldn't be on this thread anymore but I feel that you've been on this journey with me and quite frankly, couldn't bring myself to share the details with new virtual friends at the moment, so I hope you all don't mind me staying put for a while x

Missyraines · 31/08/2010 19:04

Thanks for all the messages. To be honest I'm almost glad AF got me as it would be weird saying yes to a job and then say oh and BTW I'm pregnant. (although it would be a lovely dilemma to be in)

Lychees 5 days after???? Wow. My poor DH!!!! Good to know you've good reserves and tips are always so good to hear.

starlet Hope the job gets better soon. I really feel stress can hold us back. Are you looking for another?

I handed my notice in today so only have 4 weeks left there. I can't stop smiling. Smile

Keziahhopes · 31/08/2010 17:32

Hi - Felicity - great you got those highs, peaks and highs ... it may be an abnormally long period (know people here get them and due to using a CBFM they are more aware of them) - could be worth going to see your gp about, as they can do a blood test to definitely rule out pregnancy.

Starlet22 · 31/08/2010 17:15

Hi everyone! [sneaks back into the virtual room and sits at the back looking bashful for not having posted for a while!]

Gosh, it's been busy on here! Have been absent due to work being crazy busy. TBH, not sure how much more I can take of working crazy hours and serious thinking of jacking it in. Speaking of jobs, MisseyRaines, many congratulations on your new job!! Hopefully this means that your BFP is just around the corner!!

Anyway, here are today's stats....I needed to reset my dates as AF got me a few days ago. I am somewhat resigned to it now (nasty AF every month and no BFP) and just waiting for our fertility appointment but Lychees I read your last post with intrigue - BD up to 5 days after ovulation!! Blimey, we never make it that far!! Pause for thought, definitely and good news re your appointment.

Boba - good luck with your HSG. Let us know how that goes.

MissyRaines, Keziah, Rosie - sorry AF got you as well Sad. Keziah - what is the next step for you in the process? Choccie - you too, how are things progressing? It sounds like you've had a nightmare but at least you are now into the "system" so hopefully you will get some progress in the next few months.

Essence - good luck tonight - let's hope this is the right month for you! Wink

Storm - are you okay? Good luck with the counselling - thinking of you.

Hello to *everyone" else I've not mentioned specifically. I'll try to be more engagaged this week.

boba82 · 31/08/2010 15:05

Lychees that's great news from your appointment. I too didn't want to be unexplained infertility but according to the first consultant we saw that has the best outcome for having an actual baby. Doesn't help the frustration though!

I'm getting my HSG on Thurs this week so I'll try it out for you first and let you know Wink FX you won't need yours. Your appt today was at private clinic wasn't it?

OP posts:
rosieposey · 31/08/2010 14:15

Lychees - good news from your appt :) V pleased to hear you have a good egg reserve too! Oh gawd ... 5 DAYS!!! Shock im literally horizontal with relief after the fertile period is over, maybe thats where i am going wrong though i will join you in your consultants advice just incase he is right - would be worth it for a bfp. Im temping too so hoping that they show me if i have actually ov'ed

Set my M button at 3pm yesterday - im going to have some trouble remembering to poas in the afternoons though so will have to set some sort of reccurent alarm or something for this cycle.

Good luck on your 2ww emmy!

Lychees · 31/08/2010 13:59

You're welcome, Felicity.

New tip from the consultant; you should BD to at least up to FIVE days after you ovulate.

TBH, we're frazzled by the time I get my low after my peaks so we stop. But if you do not actually ovulate until the second peak or high after the peak, then you should really keep going. I'm going to try and do this this month and see if I get my BFP.

Boba, I didn't find a carpet [everything in the shops is beige and I need a nice grey] so I'm back to it again this weekend.

felicityFlick · 31/08/2010 13:50

Thanks ladies for your help. Ringing the helpline is a great idea. I think I'll do that now!

You're all lovely over here.xx

Lychees · 31/08/2010 13:36

Hello Felicityflick, I don't think the CBFM would give you a peak if it didn't detect LH. But I've never come across this before. Perhaps give Clearblue's helpline a ring, they are normally quite good. Sorry, I've not been much help.

Well done on the new job, MissyRaines but sorry AF got you.

Boba, I completely understand your feelings re: RL pregnancy announcements. I thought I'd get better at handling it as time went on but each time I hear one, it's a total shock to the system and I don't know how to react anymore.

Good luck on the 2ww, Emmylou. And good luck with the BDing, Essence.

I had my appointment today. Got my blood results explained properly and the consultant does think I'm ovulating - hooray!

My scan showed that everything is fine, my egg reserve is good and I should be ovulating from my right ovary this cycle.

They took bloods for AMH testing which is a better indication of ovulation and it was recommended that I book in for a HSG and DH has another SA to check for abnormalities as this wasn't checked previously. I was told the HSG had to be done betweeen CD7 and CD10 which means that I have to wait until next cycle now.

Otherwise, all seems okay which is a relief but also a bit frustrating. I really hope we don't end up being one of those couples who has unexplained secondary infertility.

Hi toe everybody else!

Sorry for AF missy, Keziah and rosie

felicityFlick - sorry I'm not sure... Do you normally have regular cycles?

RL pregnancies - it's really tough. I try to be really happy for them but inside my heart is breaking.

CBFM gave me a peak yesterday and today and my OPKs were +ve yesterday and Sunday. Temp still not raised though so I reckon I should ovulate today or tomorrow. DH is under strict instructions for tonight!
(Btw have you notice - CBFM, OPKs and temping? Desperate? Me?!)

Hello everyone else :)

boba82 · 31/08/2010 09:24

Morning everyone how are you all?

Sorry not been on in a few days, been really busy and TBH a bit disheartned after the RL pregnancy announcement last week.

Harry glad to hear all is ok with the little bean. That is shocking no-one was there to scan you. Enjoy your rest Smile

Row your timing sound good to me so FX for you.

Lychees totally empathise with the Envy over RL pregs. I'm off to a baby shower this week, don't know how I am going to deal with it.
Did you get a nice carpet?
Best of luck for your appointment today. I think you'll be having the same scan I got last week. It was absolutely fine, basically a willy shaped probe which they insert. It was over in 5 minutes and much less uncomfortable than a smear. You'll be absolutely fine hun. Do let us know how you get on.

rosie sorry to hear abnout AF Sad

keziah so sorry AF got you hun Sad I'd noticed you seemed a bit more positive last month. Try and not let it set you back, although I know easier said than done

Missy sorry AF got you too Sad however congrats on the new job Smile maybe the fact that you'll be happier there will have a positive impact on TTC?

Anyone else I've missed hi

Well I said I wouldn't test until day 40 as that would be defiantly late. I got to day 38 (which happened to be my 1st wedding anniversary) and resisted. Mon morn (day 40) I took out the test from the drawer went to poas but before I did AF had arrived. So at least I didn't test as those negatives are heartbreaking.

In other news, I got offered a new job. This one doesn't involve going away so at least I'll be in the same post code as hubby at the crucial times. I'm going to hand my notice in today which I feel glad about as I've disliked my going away part of my job for a couple of years.

Sorry about af to Rosie and Keziah
Good luck to Lychees for today. At lest you're getting things moving by finding out. I really think I will have to start the process as it's been a year now.

Hello to everyone else.

felicityFlick · 31/08/2010 05:23

Hello Lovely CBFM Gurus,

I am wondering if I might be able to get some advice from you and your supportive thread ? I am finding myself in a bit of a confuddled state this month and would appreciate some advice from wiser CBFM users than I... needless to say, this is my first cycle with it!

All started off well and I was thrilled to get a high on day 18 , two peaks on days 19 and 20 followed by a high on day 21. I made the assumption that I had ovulated on probably day 20 and that was that. Here I am on day 43, two BFNs later Confused I'm really puzzled as to why my period has not arrived if I am not pregnant and am wondering if the CBFM could get it wrong Shock Does anyone have any experience of this or any advice they could offer?

Thank you so much in advance :)

Lychees · 30/08/2010 23:15

Really sorry AF got you Rosie and Keziah.

Yet another RL pg announcement this evening which takes the count to nine in five months [I reckon that it must be some kind of record]. Again, another blow and Envy. I wish I could stop taking it so personally.

I have my first fertility clinic appointment tomorrow morning and this includes a trans-vaginal scan. Does anyone know what happens?

I'm nervous about it.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

chocciechip · 30/08/2010 18:56

emmylou I chart and use a CBFM, and my chart temps start going up the day after my second CBFM peak (I usually get two peaks per cycle). So I assume that I ov on the second peak, and the day after that is 1DPO. HTH.
