Still lurking around and will update you on my situation when I have some news...

Thinking of you all!

Afternoon All,

Hope tomorrow goes well, Keziah. I agree that perhaps when I last got my bloods done they were done at the wrong time. At least that is what I'm hoping.

Boba, I know what you mean about putting things off. I've done the same but have now vowed to get on with things.

Morning all keziah best of luck for tomorrow.

vnewmummy yeah I'm fine thanks just had no news to post. Booked a holiday yesterday for September. We've been hanging off booking for 9 months or so as keep thinking "oh might be pregnant by then" but am totally fed up of putting life on hold when nothing happening and really need some sun and a break so really looking forward to it

I sometimes wonder about the CBFMs accuracy also. If AF doesn't arrive by CD32 then I am going to reset to see if it picks up a peak this time as last time AF arrived CD64.

I've always wondered why it makes you POAS first thing when other OPKs say in the pm?

So far it's been right about me not ovulating but I agree if AF arrived then surely you must have OV?

Hi,

Keziah - hope all goes well tomorrow at least you will find out somemore info. x

Shaggy - I LOL at your list! What is softcups?!

A little bit of info, my fertility consultant called me yesterday to discuss increase in dose of clomid. I explained that last month I had no peaks but 19 days of high. I said maybe I didnt ovulate. Well she said because my cycle length had not changed I would have ovulated. Therefore maybe the CFM doesnt pick it up all the time? Its only if my cycle had been much longer that then it was likely I had not...

Well off to work now.

Boba - you ok hon?

xx

Keziahhopes · 09/06/2010 00:19

justshaggy - your list made me smile - have done all of your list, apart from hot water bottle - and what is Guaifenesin? All best in two week wait.

Lychees - you may well have ovulated, just took your blood test too early - hence a later test. Worth getting 2 later tests also to compare date I found. Was it your progesterone level that was low on 1st test? Mine was 26 on first test, then 24 on 2nd test. My consultant said to bd every 2nd day - and actually dh can't produce much sperm if everynight, so it is better for us every 2 nights as his SA showed just below normal.

Nervous now - see consultant for 2nd time on Thursday.

justshaggy · 08/06/2010 14:16

Lychees I think ever second day is perfectly OK because sperm lives a while. It used to be thought bd'ing every day was bad for sperm (i.e. reducing count) but the opposite is thought now; they think it can improve it. However, I believe that this is only ok for men with a healthy sperm count - so unless you know your DHs count, every second day plays it safe too.

vnewmummy Well .... I'll rattle off a few top of my head ones, you can ask me for more info if there's anything you haven't heard of : Guaifenesin, pillow under bum, don't move for at least 15mins min after bd'ing (preferably a bit longer), upsuck theory, preseed, softcups, grapefruit juice, CBFM .... and recently read a warm hot water on the tum after bd'ing, but I don't know why? There you go (anything I missed that you can share with me). Very good luck!

My took a weird turn recently when at my GPs. I saw a woman with a brand newborn and was dying to ask her if I could hold it ... which is just a bit too freakishly weird even for me (I am capable of immense weirdness). I told DH who was with me, and he said he knew I'd be feeling that because he did a bit too!

I'm now on the 2ww. Sigh.

Lychees · 08/06/2010 13:51

I think we all know that feeling. I hate myself for being envious as I've never been an envious person and it's not a nice trait but I can't help it.

I've been comfort eating just lately which is not good .

We gave bd'ing a miss last night but I had my second peak today so will prob bd tonight and tomorrow. Going for my second bloods next Tuesday but need to think of a new excuse for being late to work.

boba82 · 08/06/2010 10:20

Morning...

Lychees, we were advised to only bd every 2nd day. Although I must admit when the peaks on on monitor it is a hard choice. See how you feel tonight maybe!

Baby - that happened to me last month - 19 days of highs. I know I still ovulated so we kept bd'ing every 2nd or 3rd day. Its bloody exhausting!

Shaggy - look forward to all your tips. Hee need as many as possible! How you doing?

Well one of my best friends came around to tell me she is 3 months pregnant yesterday. I was so green eyed monster. I think what made it worse is that I had shared with her that we were TTC and when I asked her she said they were not. However, she told me yesterday they had tried for 9 months. Of course I am happy for her but I
was bit shocked at my reaction inside.

Hope everyone else is doing ok too xx

Lychees · 07/06/2010 17:48

Afternoon Everyone.

I got my first peak today but I bd'd last night. Should we save bd'ing again until tomorrow? I was thinking that we should as bd'ing every day just means less sperm each time? Am I right or should we just go for it ?

Sorry about all the highs and no peak, BabyHoping. I can't remember but have you had any blood tests? Would it worth going to see GP with the findings from your CBFM?

My blood test last cycle showed that I had not ov'd despite peaks on CBFM so who knows what's going on? I have to go for a second lot this cycle on CD25 to check again.

Speak soon.

Thanks, ladies, for understanding and for the words of support. I am now on CD16 and have got my first high of the cycle this morning so I am feeling a little bit more positive.

LadyBee, I believe LH is normally present 24-48 hours prior to ovulation [this is the hormone that gives you the peaks on the CBFM] so if this is the case, the gap does seems a bit big to me.

LadyBee · 05/06/2010 20:01

Hi ladies, I'm hoping you might be able to help me with a 'when did I ovulate' type question. This is my first cycle after a MMC, and I decided to go in with all guns blazing, bought a CBFM and started to temp as well. I got peaks on day 13 & 14, then a high on day 15 and then it stopped asking for sticks and went down to a low. So I assumed OV probably happened day 14/15 or so.
Stupidly, I forgot to temp on those days, so I'm missing a couple of days, but I've just entered the rest of the cycle to date into fertility friend and it's showing that I ov'd on day 17. Do you think it's possible for there to be such a big gap between a peak and ovulation?

essenceofSES · 05/06/2010 14:17

Thanks for your kind words girls. I am v disappointed but trying to dwell on the positives. If it's ok, maybe I will continue lurking...

One of the reasons for that is that I can really empathise with what many of you are going through.

shaggy - I have a fear of scans too after my 2 mmc. I'm crying before I even get in the room and I'm sure they look at me as some mad, neurotic woman. When I did have lively scans with DS I was in disbelief to begin with and then cried anyway as the wonderful reality hit! I really hope you get a good scan experience soon.

Lychees - it is an emotional rollercoaster and don't feel bad for that.

vnewmummy - I've not got age on my side either as I'm 37. You need to do what's right for you and your family and having a plan like that may help instead of rising stress levels. Don't be afraid to change your mind though if it comes to that Obviously it won't as you'll be pg this month

Keziah - thanks for answering. Maybe this month off will help for next month for you? . Seriously though, I hope you're feeling lots better.

Hello to anyone else lurking!!

justshaggy · 05/06/2010 13:37

Lychees Whew - I have days like that too. Someone who had been trying for 3yrs told me she visualised her baby and worked on feeling positive before she got her long awaited BFP. If I imagine myself PG, the next picture that enters my mind is of the scan room, and seeing a non-viable pregnancy on the screen. So I understand how you feel. (I hope visualisation isn't as powerful as some think or I'm headed for more heartbreak!)

vnewmummy I understand the stress. We've been trying for about 14 months now, if you include my two MCs, and there are days when I yearn for a release from the pressure and from the heartache. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I already had one - probably just like you do - but right now still can't bring myself to stop TTC, despite being 39 . If these are your last two months, then we'll have to help you chuck everything at it! I'm happy to share all my obsessive old wives tales tips with you if you like.

keziah Hope you're feeling better hun. So sorry you have to take such hectic antibiotics.

Morning all*

Keziah - all that you say is really true. Thanks, you kkep that hope too xx

Keziahhopes · 04/06/2010 22:56

essence - yes, you can keep using your CBFM and press m, without using sticks ... that is what I have had to do this month, as on very nasty antibiotics that stop foetus' bones from developing, so couldn't ttc, but still used CBFM.

Lychees - it is emotional ttc ... I have times of real sadness and despair too. Looking at your stats this is cycle 8, and I was told that it often takes 12 cycles to conceive. I am still trying to hope after 2yrs - hugs for you x

vnewmummy - I can understand wanting a time limit. I think if I had one child I would seriously consider stopping ttc after a 2yr attempt that I am having (albeit for my 1st), although I would not go back to using contraception [grni]. I hope you are both able to make that decision, if it comes to it, which is best for you and your family.

Morning all lychees I think it's perfectly natural to get down. I have weeks where I get really down and feel totally useless. It's awful and I've been finding it harder to pull myself back & stay positive but that's where we all come in as we are all in a similar boat and can spur each other on. x

essence sorry to hear that, it must be disappointing for you? You're doing the right thing though, marriage is all about compromise isn't it?! Why not stay and keep on the list until you're trying again so we can keep track on how you're doing?
