Hello all

Storm - Indeed your DH is fantastic! What a lovely treat.

choccichip - thanks for sharing those stats. Helps keep everything in perspective!

Lychees - hope you caught that window!

This month, I had a high on CD15&16, I forgot to POAS on day17 and then had a peak on day 18. On day 19 it didn't ask me to test and automatically gave me a peak and then automatically gave me a high on day 20 and then automatic lows after that. Is it normal that it will assume that much in the second cycle of using it?

Oops I updated my stats and left old ones in!!

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 05/07/2010 19:50

Thanks for the advice chocciechip its definately made me think twice about testing, in fact its made me more determined not to test until Sunday or Monday if I get there before AF arrives. I have to say though, I've got a gut feeling AF will be here before that!

My dull aches are getting a little more intense so this is why I reckon its not my month!

Thanks again

xx

Lychees · 05/07/2010 15:40

Chocciechip, those stats are really interesting. Especially the one about the average DPO for a postive.

Also, I went from low to peak yesterday so BD'd last night but worried we missed the window because my peak was unusually early and we had not BD'd for a little while beforehand.

Boba, if AF arrives in the next few weeks I shall look into having acupuncture near my office so that I can go after work. Also, good news about your peaks.

Storm, sounds like a good plan to keep you from testing early.

Hello Everyone Else!

chocciechip · 05/07/2010 13:27

Hi ladies .... been very busy recently so not posted much but have been lurking. Boba if you re-set your CBFM at CD 41, and AF not arrived, approximately what CD do you think you'll be ovulating? Might be worth making a note of that info in case you need it later.

Storm At 8DPO I can quite confidently tell you if you test today it'll be a BFN. I'm afraid testing early won't actually help you know anything at all; you'll most likely only be making the test manufacturers richer. Fertility Friend have done a pregnancy test study using thousands of charts on their database and this is what they find.

Average Day Past Ovulation (DPO) for the first positive pregnancy test: 13.6 DPO

Average DPO for the first "false" negative test result: 10.3 DPO

Percentage of pregnancy charts with a positive test at 10 DPO: 10%

Percentage of pregnancy charts which show negative results before a positive result: 17%

Average time between the expected period and the first positive pregnancy test: 0.5 days before the expected period.

Percentage of negative test results taken three days or more before the expected period day on non pregnant charts: 40.7%

AFM, my CBFM almost let me down this month. It went straight from low to peak for the first time ever. Thank god I chart as well, or DH and I would't have been SWI'ing around the right time.

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 05/07/2010 13:09

Thanks Boba he's a Diamond - I don't know what I'd do without him and I'm sure most would't put up with me to be fair .

I am so scared its going to be a BFN no matter how much I tell myself its only the first month, I can't expect miracles etc etc etc. So I've bought some tests from Amazon, a couple of cheapies and a CB Digital one, just in case. But they won't be here for another 5 working days or so, so thats an excuse not to test til AF is due. I just can't stop thinking about it. Its driving me mad!

xxx

boba82 · 05/07/2010 10:43

Morning all

Storm I reset at CD41 to keep track of my cycle but AF not arrived yet. What a lovely husband you have . Re POAS I would really wait until day AF due hun as it is hearbreaking getting the BFN, easier said than done though I know as I am a recovering POASaholic!

Lychees the place I go for acupuncture does evenings 2 nights a week so I go straight after work. Lots of places do a Sat as well so worth a phone around. Congrats on the peak as well, did you get your early night ? My DH can't believe his luck me pouncing on him every night!

Morning Everyone....

Boba I don't think your stats are correct as you reset the CBFM at day 41?!?!?

Lychees

My moods are so swingy......feel quite low this morning for some reason. Those dull achy pains disappeared yesterday afternoon and then returned with a massive YOUCH from me as I drove to work this morning - it was a very sharp pain and wasn't very nice!!!

8DPO - when should I test???
Very reluctant to cos I'm scared of the BFN!!

Keziahhopes · 05/07/2010 00:14

Ooh Boba your peak - that is so exciting!! And Lychees yes I found peaks have varied, that is why I like the CBFM, as well as just reminding me where I am in my cycle as I never was very good at remembering!!

Lychees · 04/07/2010 22:04

Sounds like you've had a lovely anniversary, Storm.

Sorry AF got you, Keziah. Hope Wednesday goes well.

Boba, I am thinking of try acupuncture to relax. Do you have to have it once a week? Sadly, I don't know if I can find the time to go every week.

Hello, Everybody Else .

I forgot to check my monitor after putting a stick in it this morning and when I went to jump in the shower just now, I saw it on the shelf. So thought I'd check but I wasn't really expecting anything but a low. And I got a peak ... on CD12 which is mega-early for me. AF only left me 5 days ago! And we haven't BDd for almost a fortnight [we've just been too knackered] so it's an early night for me tonight. I hope I haven't missed my chance. Seems like my hormones are a bit all over the place, too.

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 04/07/2010 16:05

LOL am I glad you lot are back .....

Boba Yay for the Peak....I really hope this is your month hun x

Keziah Best Wishes for Wednesday, I hope it goes well.

Giraffemummy I wish I could take a leaf out of your book mate, I really do....

Well 7DPO, still got that funny sensation in my tummy and still pretty tired. However had a really lovely weekend so far. Its our 4th Anniversay today so was treated to a Thai meal last night and this morning woke up to Bacon Butties, fresh coffee (naughty caffiene) and an All expenses paid Spa day, with facials, mud wraps, manicures and massages to use whenever I want - oooh it is nice to be spoiled once in a while.
Felt like a right plonka though cos at the beginning of the week we said we wouldn't buy each other pressies..........SO I DIDN'T get him anything apart from a card.. WHAT A COW!!

boba82 · 04/07/2010 14:45

Hello everyone, not been on for a couple of days and has taken me ages to read all that and catch up!

Baby re the ov pain I seem to get it on and off throughout the cycle, moves sides and sharpness so have no idea what it is. How's acupuncture going? I'm really enjoying mine and find it sooo relaxing, totally fell asleep last week which was a tad embarrasing .

Lychees If only life and destressing was as simple as just doing it eh?! I feel like telling people to F off when they tell me to just relax and not to worry. Re your earlier post I don't have an appointment yet but had initial letter and they said it was only a 12 week wait so hopefully by September we will have been seen.

Essence yay! You'll soon be back joining us obsessing over TTC! Glad your DS is ok.

Pink sorry AF got you.

Keziah Sorry about AF and good luck for Wed hun. You feeling more positive about things again? x

Update for me, I reset CBFM on CD 41 as knew AF wasn't coming and wanted to follow cycle. Got my first ever peak yesterday and another today!! Have not mentioned yet to DH as don't want to put him off . FX the SWI works this time. Can't believe how excited I was to see a peak, god help me if I ever do get a BFP.

AF got me, no surprise!
Lychees - my level was 21, but why not ask your Gp to test in one or 2 months time, as it could have just been one lowish month (20's is equivocal for ovulation), and if it is higher next month it will encourage you. Although annoying - lowering stress will help! That is something I have been working on. Though our prob is not just my levels but DH's sperm count and poor motility - which has worsened again on 3rd test for him.

Have HSG on Wednesday, so half a day off work. So not looking forward to it.

GiraffeMummy like your attitude

giraffemummy · 04/07/2010 13:35

Still here Storm. Just trying to act all laid back this month and forget what day I'm on, how many DPO, which days pre-ovulation we SWI, what our preliminary fertility test results might be, if I took my vits......so y'know playing it real cool......I wish ;).

Hi Everyone (waves)....

Well its the start of another weekend and I wonder what its got instore for us all???

Lychees fingers crossed the next few months are productive for you hun and that there will be no need to faff about with the docs. As for de-stressing, although I don;t have a toddler to run around after I know how difficult it can be with a demanding job, so I kinda feel ya. I rota it in and let everyone know they can't disturb me for an afternoon, that way its planned.

Sorry about AF Pinkcustard, how annoying!! Have a drink for me hun

Oooh fingers crossed these few extra cycle days are a good sign for vnewmummy.

Giraffemummy I'm so bored of this 2WW already too - its 5DPO (or 6....depends if you count from the first peak or second...not sure) for me. Although somehow the urge to test has completely disappeared - I don't feel anxious or curious or anything! STRANGE!! However, cramping pain has turned into a strange dragging sensation that can be quite sharp at times and I feel quite tired - not reading too much into it though as I've had quite a busy week.

Essence - nice to meet you! Hope everything goes well for you when you start to TTC again x

Well have a nice weekend everyone. Babydust to all XX

Lychees · 02/07/2010 16:29

Hello All,

Thanks for sharing re: GP tests etc, Keziah. Hope you get an appointment for your HSG v soon.

My GP finally called to say that my progesterone level was 23 when it should be 30+ but she is not overly concerned and said I probably need to de-stress and try for a couple more months before seeing her for a referral.

De-stress!?! I don't have the time to de-stress ... in between working, handling a toddler, organising work on our house, doing my husband's books and housework, I can barely find the time to do my hair or put some makeup on [you should see my unruly eyebrows!]. I would love, love, love some more me time but I don't know how or where I can shoe-horn that in.

Sorry AF got you, Pink Custard. You're right, we do need a BFP on here to keep us feeling positive.

Essence, glad that ttc is back on the card. Good luck for next month.

Sending loads of luck to anyone who's testing soon.

Hi everyone,

Well nasty old AF arrived so I'm back to day 1 of my 7th cycle TTC

I'm reading with interest all your messages about GPs and tests etc as I'm seriously considering going to the docs to get checked out. I know they say to wait 12 months but if it doesn't happen this month I might book an appointment (would it be really naughty to add a few months on and say I've been TTC for a year?).

Feeling quite depressed at being back at the bottom of the list again now - but on a positive note I've just stocked up the fridge with pear cider and wine and will be enjoying a few cold drinks later on

Essence great you soon able to ttc your next child

Lychees - yes I found I had low progesterone. The gp also ordered thyroid and other general blood tests, blood glucose thread (was top end of ok, so changed my diet) and a SA for dh ... as all tests hospital would order. Have you had all of these, plus a recent smear (last 6-12 months) and a chlmydia test (can be done with smear) - to save time when at hospital.
My Gp did try me with progesterone tests at different points in my cycle- had 3 sets of blood, which meant was taken seriously at hospital. When is your appointment?

Yes, clomid is often used dr told me for low progesterone, but before they prescribe it they have to check everything else out - hence still no treatment for me.

Af should be soon, quite a relief as can book HSG then!

Hello all! Sorry I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks - just really busy.

Welcome to the newbies

cyncan - sorry to hear your news. I was there April and June 2008 and I know how devastating it is. My third pregnancy resulted in my gorgeous DS so stay strong and positive.
FWIW, you are doing the right thing in taking some time off work to start to regain your strength - physically and emotionally.
Take care

Lychees - how annoying about your GP appointment! Hope you get to see them soon.

Vikks - good to hear from you. Glad all is going well!

Storm - that waiting to test time is sooo hard. Fingers crossed for you!

Hello Boba, Keziah, BabyHoping, vnewmummy, MissyRaines and anyone else I've missed!

I'm still frustrated that we're not officially ttc. However things with DH are much better and we're going to start ttc next month
I'm also encouraged by the fact that so far this cycle is mirroring last month exactly (first high on CD15) so hopefully I'll at least have a good idea of when I'm going to ovulate as a starting point!

Last week I had my first ever night away from DS (he's 13mo) as I had to go to a conference with work. DH ended up having to take him to hospital DS got sent home from nursery with a rash and so I told DH to take him to GP and GP referred him! They were at the hospital for 5hrs whilst he had urine and blood tests but thankfully all clear. I was waiting at the end of the phone worried out of my mind and preparing to drive nearly 200miles home if necessary. In the end they put it down to a virus (although I think it might have been a reaction to his MMR jab the previous week) and he was fine!

Still no call back from the DR's so I am a bit now. I think I might be better off queuing for an appointment in the morning.

Boba, do you have your appointment date yet?

Keziah, how are you doing? If I recall correctly, didn't you have low progesterone, too. I find myself in the same boat and have no idea what happens next. Did your GP just refer you to the fertility clinic without any further testing?

vnewmummy, were you prescribed Clomid because you were not ovulating?

I have so many q's for my DR so it's been really frustrating today not being able to speak to her.

Hi All,

Hi Babyhoping sounds like you had rough time of it hun......so sorry to hear that.
I have experienced Ovary Pain but not until I was due to Ovulate. I hadn't ever experienced this (or noticed any pain) before we got pregnant first time. But after we Terminated our first Pregnancy (imcompatible with life apparently) and then bought the Monitor so we could start trying again, I started getting strange cramping pains around CD14 - I posted on here (i think) to ask about it and someone pointed out it could be Ovulation Pain - then the next day I peaked! I think maybe its something to do with my previous PG and the termination that I can feel this now.

I'm getting a little impatient now and really want to Test but I know this won't do me any good - still have that dull ache in my tummy. I'm sure its not phantom period pain I usually get this a few days before my period so this is quite early and has been going on since 2DPO.

Boba it was upsetting dear and I did feel ilke letting rip, especially as I would have been 6 months PG today, but I'm over it now. Hope your able to make an appointment with the fertility clinic soon hun and get the ball rolling.

Babyhoping I hope you don't mind me asking but What is a Chemical Pregnancy? I'm learning!!
