Well morning everyone,

Thought I'd post this morning before I jump in the shower and pop off to work cos I am CONFUSED.COM ....

I have had lows on the CBFM all of this cycle so far....... until today when I peaked??? We haven't really BD'd this week cos of everything thats going on, being fraught with worry and super tired it kinda takes it out of ya. Anyhoo we managed to get to it last night so the fact I got a peak after lows isn't too much of an issue - I just don't understand what happened to my highs? I was suspicious last night that I'd not had a result on the CBFM yet so used a cheapy tesco dip-stick OPK, and sure enough it was positive.

Well to add mystery to all of this I've been temping too and I don't think my temps have risen dramatically enough to show OV. Don't get me wrong they recently dripped and risen a degree or so on 2 occassions this cycle, one of the rises in temp was this morning but both high temps from this cycle are 35.97. There isn't an obvious and substantial rise?!?!?

Well I think maybe its time to go and bug the charters annon thread too LOL!!

Me and DP have decided to carry on trying using the CBFM until the end of this cycle and then re-evaluate our situation financially to decided if we're going to carry on - I'm hoping to persuade him too but understand its a joint decision.

Hope you all have a good Friday - its nearly the weekend.

Much Love and oodles of Babydust to everyone

vnewmummy - sorry AF got you. I really hope the combination of accupuncture, Clomid and IUI do the trick next month. As Storm said, don't be a stranger - you'll be missed.

rosie - fingers crossed for your DH's interview. No rain here this evening but at least it's a bit cooler.

Storm - thinking of you. Must have been a tough day for your DH to go and sign on but absolutely what he needs to do in the circumstances. I hope something turns up soon for him though.

choccie* - sounds like you've got a plan. I hate the waiting game and although in the big scheme of things September isn't long, it seems like forever in ttc timescales

Lychees - at Boots putting the price of the sticks up by £2. I might try and check on why as I work for them!

Keziah - hope your recovery continues well

Hello Boba, Starlet, PinkCustard and anyone else I've missed!

rosieposey · 22/07/2010 20:33

Hello ladies, how are you all this rainy evening?

Choccie - just had a quick read through your thread and think that you are doing the right thing by going private, September IS a long way away and when you are waiting to interpret such important results its just silly to be hanging on for so long.

vnewmummy - havent been on this thread very long but wanted to wish you good luck in your Clomid and IUI - really hope it gets you where you want to be in no time at all.

Keziah - hope you are on the mend now

Storm, you and your DH are doing all the right things, it must have been rubbish signing on but needs must and all that crap (sorry im not doing platitudes because they dont help much i reckon) At least its an (albeit crappy) source of income till he gets back on his feet - you are being really positive though, leaflet dropping and so on - its hard to think of it but try and see this as temporary ... Talking of jobs, DH got told about a local contract and they are interviewing next week, my DH's agency have put him forward so i hope he at least gets to interview stage, mind you there are probably about 70 people all going for the same job Ah well fingers crossed.

Hope everyone else that i havent mentioned is ok and today is a good one - tomorrow is Friday which is always welcome, i love weekends!

StormBird · 22/07/2010 20:02

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the kind words of support. It's been really really tough for me and DP this year for various reasons and his job situation is just the icing on the cake!!! Well DP went signed on today for the first time ever, he's so embarrassed about the situation but we have no other option at the moment. I tok yesterday afternoon off work to help him out and we CV dropped as many maintenance and building firms as we could find. You never know, something might come of it. Fingers Crossed eh.

Starlet I would be hugely grateful if you could post my DP's details on your works notice board if you could email [email protected] I will email his details over (don't worry I've asked his permission LOL). Its such a shame he's so low, although I am bound to be biased he is truthfully very good at what he does. Thank you hun.

Choccie & vnewmummy sorry AF got you.

vnewmummy I was sad to read your leaving us. I hope everything goes well for you hun. I have my fingers crossed that it works out well for you. Good Luck with the Clomid & IUI, please keep us posted on how you are getting on. Don't be stranger.

Keziah Glad to hear Op went well. Hope you recover quickly.

Anyone else I've missed sending big hugs.

Sorry for the long post.

vnewmummy · 22/07/2010 19:03

Choccie I think today is day 1 for you hun.

Hi everyone

Well AF got me too today, feel really sad as everything looked good after my scan and the clomid is working. However, we have now decided to stop trying naturally and put the CBFM away.

During the next 4 weeks we are going private again and combining clomid and IUI (Intrauterine insemination) for one last shot at it. This really is it and we are preparing to move on with our lives if it does not happen.

I had my first lot of acupuncture today too so hopefully that will relax and prepare me for this month.

I will keep an eye on this thread and thank you all for your support and sense of fun. Were all having a difficult time and its great that we have each other to let off steam or whatever you want!

Good luck to you all, I want to see some BFP's on here soon. Thinking of you.

chocciechip · 22/07/2010 16:44

DH and I have decided that we will go see a private consultant after I get my AMH results back, just to discuss all the results we've had. Very expensive for just this, but I can't wait until September - I'll go crazy. We have no other option. DH even tried phoning the Duty Endocrine Biochemist at the lab yesterday, who he said seemed very uncomfortable with questions DH was asking him to answer.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm trying to put it out my mind for now, but its hard.

AF is here but I'm not sure when to record AF as arriving....??? I had very very light bleeding (but probably more than spotting) yesterday afternoon, with flow kicking in properly today. Do you think today is CD1 or is it yesterday? For the CBFM I mean.

Thanks again for the sympathy and advice, Ladies.

Glad op went well, Keziah. Hope you are back to good health soon.

Choccie, it's a pain when you can't get some straight answers that make sense from the GP. They can be so detached and out of touch with patients sometimes. So frustrating. Can't help though because I'm pretty clueless about this stuff ... sorry.

Went to get some sticks yesterday and Boots have put them up by £2! I would like to get them cheaper online but always feel like I'm jinxing myself if I buy them early and then I worry that I won't get them in time if I leave ordering them until AF is due.

Keziah glad to hear op went well, wishing you a speedy recovery. x x

OP posts:
boba82 · 21/07/2010 15:24

choccie sorry I can be of no help with your results but that is positive that they are in the normal range overall, not as bad as you expected? Has your GP agreed to refer you now? I know you are in ERI area so should only be a 12 week wait. I know that is still 3 months but not too long. Please try and stay positive hun, I am feeling quite worried about you at the moment. x x x

OP posts:
chocciechip · 21/07/2010 13:46

starlet Yes, I finally got my results. They fall within the normal range overall, apparently, but I asked for the breakdown and the E2 is high - outside normal. I've just read that high E2 is a sign of poor ovarian reserve and could suppress FSH results, which suggests to me my FSH results are probably not accurate.

I've posted a separate thread on these in the forum in the hope someone with more knowledge can help me interpret, because my GP won't and I can't bear to wait months before I get to the fertility clinic. It's at times like these when I could march into my GPs and crack heads with my frustration at the NHS. But right now I am pretty broken, I have to say.

I had another odd experience which I posted about separately as well where I accidentally used an OPK thinking it was an HPT, and got a positive LH surge on the day AF was due ... which I would have thought shouldn't happen. So its all pants really.

Keziahhopes · 21/07/2010 12:09

quick post and run - op went well, just recovering now - and from the sepsis week before.

PinkCustard · 21/07/2010 11:43

Hello,

Lychees What a totally insensitive colleague. People at work are always asking me when I'm going to have another, but it's worse coming from someone who is smugly pregnant. You'd think she'd have a bit of an understanding about such things.

Storm Hope things start to pick up soon. DH's job was under threat of redundancy when I was pregnant with DS and I know what a worry it can all be.

On a cheerier note at least the awful rain has stopped for now - was getting so fed up of it. It's still not exactly summery here though - fingers crossed for a nice weekend.

Morning all

lychees I totally empathise with you on the control freak thing, I am exactly the same. I would hang on though hun and wait to see what is available to you on NHS, it would be a shame to waste money if you don't need to. Also empathise on the insensitive collegues. I'm self employed but I am sick fed up of customers asking if I'm pregnant or when will you be having a little one comments, sometimes feel like snapping that we are having problems just to teach them a lesson

Storm sorry to hear about your bad news hun, . I don't think there is ever a 'right' time to have a baby, hopefully things start looking better for you soon. x

OP posts:
Starlet22 · 21/07/2010 08:52

Storm - so sorry to hear about DH not getting the job. I work in central London and am happy to post his details at work on our virtual noticeboard. You never know - I work in a big office (more than 2,000 people).

Rosie - sorry to hear about your predicament as well. I like your attitude though and agree that you should keep TTC even if it's not the best time financially - who knows what the position will be in 9 months anyway, things may be very different.

Lychees - I know what you mean about wanting to be in control (I'm exactly the same). We go back for DH's SA results next week and if we get a referally to a FC and are told it is a long wait, then I expect we will want to pursue tests privately as well. Fingers crossed re your bonus (and, more importantly, a BFP this month or the next!!).

Keziah - how did it go?

Choccie - did you get your results?

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all have a good day.

StormBird · 20/07/2010 22:26

Thank essense & Rosie. Your support is much appreciated.

It seems to be pretty shit for most financially at the moment. Its so hard to try and keep upbeat. I hope things work out for everyone going through a tough time.

Sorry to hear its not good for you either Rosie

Changed my name again - just cos I can

XXX

rosieposey · 20/07/2010 22:12

Oh Lychees and Storm

Im really sorry to hear about the silly cow at work some people are just so sodding insensitive, fwiw its not been a year yet (going by your stats) and DS took 9 months to conceive and i was your age then - this one is proving even more elusive. It not the end of the world if it doesnt happen although i will be sad not to give DS a little sibling to grow up with but i really feel for you trying for your second.

Storm, im so sorry about the job and your DH its so hard out there, my sister and her DH are holding on to their house by the skin of their teeth, he is a tiler and there is just nothing around at the moment, i really hope things pick up for you (and all self employed people). My DH was on a long term contract last month and finally after 2.5 years they told him (its for a council) that all contracters had to go - they offered him a permanent job but he had to accept a 25% cut (which is our mortgage basically) and we are in the shit too and currently running at a deficit each month of £150 which we are putting on our credit card till he gets another better job (hence all the worry over the estate agent and the hips/speeding fine ect ect). Lol even the CBFM went on that but its a worthy purchase being as we arent going out at the moment i think. given my age i know its not the right time financially to conceive but i am running out of time biologically so sod it - i have things left over from my DS and im not working at the moment (it wouldnt be worth it in childcare) so will continue to try.

I really hope its ok for you both soon though i really do.

essenceofSES · 20/07/2010 21:54

Storm - (((((hugs)))))
Poor you and poor DP
I really hope something is just around the corner for him. It's so difficult - especially in the current economic climate. I have a couple of friends who are self employed and have been out of work for a while but one of them got a short term contract the other day out of the blue.
Feel free to offload here - happy to listen and try and offer some support.

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 20/07/2010 21:50

Hi Everyone

DP didn't get the Job!!! We're in Dire Straights - I don't know what to do now.

Maybe we shouldn't be TTC at the mo!!

I have a good Job, the pay isn't too bad but he is Self Employed and works just drying up. Don't get me wrong he's very good at what he does and usually all his work comes by word of mouth but just recently there's been nothing. In fact its been going on a little while now. No work = no money and no money means we can't even afford to advertise!!! Vicious Circle!

Anyone living in the Surrey / SW London area need a Plasterer or know anyone who might do??????????????

Sorry for the moan, I have to be the strong one so don't really get chance to vent. I had a cry at work when I found out cos he came out of that interview feeling quite positive and we were both praying that this might be the break he needed. No such luck - we have very little Luck on all kinds of fronts. He had a cry about it at home, I could tell when I spoke to him on the phone, though he wouldn't tell me that he did!

I do apologise for going on and on - I know we've all got different issues on here.

Hope your all keeping well, good luck everyone.

xxxxxx

Lychees · 20/07/2010 21:32

Sorry that I am on a bit of a whinge-fest but just wanted to get this off my chest.

I had a conversation with one of the pregnant girls at work asking me when I planned on having my second. She said that I shouldn't let DS put me off [he's boisterous and full of energy and I have often said that he is a bit of a handful]. Honestly, it took a lot of will not to just scream and storm out of there! Just because she got pg twice in six months, doesn't mean it just happens for everyone else! She seemed so smug about it all, too. Grrrrr !

Welcome back, Essence.

Starlet, I could get more tests on NHS [I have already had blood tests twice and DH has had SA] but for scans and stuff ..... I'm not sure I can wait much longer. I'm just not emotionally strong enough. I'm a bit of a control freak and the lack of control over ttc makes me really, really anxious.

There's talk of bonuses this year at work [usually we get paid it in August but we didn't get one last year] and I'm thinking that if I get a decent amount, it might be worth doing using it for some private tests.

rosieposey · 20/07/2010 21:10

Hi all, was interested to see Lychees say that sometimes you dont get a peak day on the monitor at all, thats got to be worth bearing in mind for when i start, cycles are funny things and mine is no different. Hope you get your bfp soon though as its really hard and rubbish hearing about other peoples pg's when all you want is to be pg yourself.

On the 2WW now, well thats if its two weeks, which is unlikely given how late i oved tbh im actually hoping i get at least 10 days post ovulation - we shall see.

Harry really hope its your month, maybe it was reffered pain and it is actually coming ffrom the 'right side' - fingers crossed.

Choccie hope you get the results soon and they are the ones that you want.

Sorry if i miss or have missed anyone out - still getting to know you all and really looking forward to my first month on the CBFM - hope it works

essenceofSES · 20/07/2010 20:04

Hello everyone! Thank you for welcoming me back

Lychees - ((((hugs)))) I know how painful it is to hear about other peoples pregnancies in real life. Fingers crossed we get one on here soon.

Harry - how cruel of the possible ovulation pain! You never know though...

Brewster - as others have said, it is possible. How long are your cycles normally?

Keziah - hope today went well.

Hello Starlet, Boba, vnewmummy and anyone else lurking!

Starlet22 · 20/07/2010 17:53

Hi everyone,

Lychees - once you get the referral, presumably they will still run tests etc on the NHS? What is it exactly that they won't fund - the actual treatment? It could be that there is nothing wrong (just need some time) or that if there is something wrong, a simple fix might do the trick so no need to fork out for a wad of cash. Anyway, boba is right - you may well get your BFP before you have to embark on the private road.

Harry - how cruel to get pains on the side where you no longer have a fallopian tube. Should definitely keep trying though - you never know, it might be your good side that is ovulating (is there any way the experts can work that out for you?).

Essence - woo hoo! Glad to hear you are not TTC - all the best!

choccie - did you go and get your test results yesterday afternoon? I'm thinking that because your GP has not called you, your results are probably "normal". Know it must be tough.

Storm - any feedback re your DH's job interview? Fingers crossed.

Hi to everyone else.

boba82 · 20/07/2010 12:12

Lychees as you say only one more month to go. Everything crossed for you that you get your BFP before you have to go down private road hun x

As you say Harry no harm in trying

OP posts:
Lychees · 20/07/2010 11:34

Brewster, I have my peaks anywhere from CD12 to CD19 and my cycles have been anything from 28 to 34 days. Also, I have gone straight from low to peak on two occasions. Do you have longer cycles?

It is not unusual for the monitor not the pick up peaks but for you still to be ovulating. I think the month that cupc4kes conceived, she had no peaks.

Boba, last time I saw my GP, she wanted me to try for two more months before going back to her for a referral. So one month down, one to go . But I know waiting times are long in my area [how long, I don't know but I am assuming more than three months]. Also, as I am ttc #2, I won't be entitled to any NHC treatment should I need any so I may have to go private at some point anyway .
