Hi Everyone! I'm a little bored today so I thought I'd post something!! Today is day 8 and DH left today for 4 days. Looks like this month might be a bust... I'm still reading low and I hope I don't peak while he's gone...He will be back for 2 days before leaving again... Just hoping the timing is right!! I guess we'll just have to give it all we've got!! Positive thoughts for everyone!!!

Starlet22 · 28/07/2010 09:09

Morning everyone,

Welcome to Rach and Jenni! Rach, as Boba says, the booklet is very informative. The thing I found slightly confusing was setting the "m" button - but after you've done it once, it all makes sense. Just post any queries that you may have.

Choccie you sound a bit more bouncy in your last postings - hope you are feeling more optimistic!

Storm - sorry I haven't emailed you yet. My hotmail account seems to have been attacked by some kind of virus - it's sending out junk emails to my contacts (although I have now deleted all contacts and it's still sending them!). I've changed my account password (apparently it's meant to stop this) so if that works, I'll be in touch later this week (don't want to risk sending you virus).

Boba - good luck for your appointment today. Let us know how it goes.

Keziah - thanks for the info re tests and good luck on Thursday. Are you going to collect results from previous tests? Hopefully they will have some good news for you and you can feel optimistic and positive about things.

We just got DH's SA results. Apparently motility is good but morphology is 11% (and 15% and above is meant to be normal). So anyway, we are off to the FC (although GP couldn't say how long the waiting list is...).

So in my state of slight panic about not getting a BFP after quite some time, I have ordered a couple of books from Amazon. The first is called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". Some of you may have read it already but for those who haven't, it's proving to be an enlightening read so far! Anyway, it's inspired me to get more serious about charting (I have a terrible tendency of waking up and either forgetting to take my temperature or else going for a wee and then thinking "pants, that will mess up the results!"). So as of this week, I've been a bit better at it and will continue to chart so I have something else to take along to the FC with me.

Sorry this is a bit of a ramble. Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned specifically. FX for a BFP on here soon! X

rosieposey · 27/07/2010 17:57

Choccie Does it stop asking you to test once you have ovulated then?

Funny thing was it didnt seem grey at the time, but got greyer as the day went on - i thought it was because it was drying. Anyway its still visible but ive bunged it in the bin along with all the other tests, have two hpt's left so will wait a couple of days and if no AF will try again with FMU not holding out any hope though - i dont feel pg at all.

Going to get a BBT thermometer, will have to get one pretty sharpish though as i dont think AF can be too far away.

chocciechip · 27/07/2010 17:49

rosie If its a grey line, its an evaporation line. Any other line that is a pale colour is a BFP - or so I was told. I bought my BBT thermometer on Amazon and I chart on fertility friend. If you join us on the charters anonymous thread, we all share our charts and discuss them there. This cycle, because of what happened in my last, I am using OPKs throughout on top of CBFM and charting to see when I get positive lines ... bothered that my LH levels are not right. I've always wondered how the CBFM works if your body tries to ovulate, and you get an LH surge, but then don't ovulate. It won't pick up a second surge, would it?

Keziahhopes · 27/07/2010 16:40

Hope all goes well for you Boba on Wed.

Lychees I don't know where you are but in England if you already have one child then you cannot get any referral on the NHS. If you don't have one and have been ttc for more than 1yr and are under 35 you can get gp testing and then referral, or if over 35 aftre 6mths ttc. This is what I have found. Also before you get the referral or apt with fertility dr, there are lots of basic tests the gp can arrange for you - general blood tests, up to date smear, chlymdia test etc all of which are needed by a fertility clinic. I don't know how all gp's work, but mine wanted basic testing first, to see if low thyroid etc, before referral - so know where to refer to.

I go to see dr at fertility clinic at hospital for 3rd time on thursday.

rosieposey · 27/07/2010 16:38

Aw Chocciechip thats bloody awful I have done something similar with OPK's too as they look just like my HPT'S from the internet.

I was so laid back about getting pg with my son and just thought it would happen when it happened and the only reason i tested (it was 4 days early too) was that i had agonising boobs and i only ever get sore boobs when i am pg.

That evap line yesterday was with FMU and it came up within the 10 mins too, DH and DD1 both agreed it was a positive, you can still see it today but its a faded grey colour now and the lack of any bfp's today or yesterday confirmed for me that it was an evap (did a First Response yesterday and that was neg too, and i tend to think they are pretty bombproof in terms of accuracy.

Next month i would like to just forget about it but i know after ovulation i will be counting the 14 days down again - still at least will have the CBFM to keep me amused.

I am thinking of charting in tandem as well, does anyone on here who charts know the best place to get a basal thermometer? Also the fact that i get up in the middle of the night for a wee, is that a problem?

chocciechip · 27/07/2010 16:19

Swinging by to say good luck to boba for her appointment tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing how it went and what they did, an hoping its all positive for you.

Welcome Rach and Jenni.

lychees I think I am probably starting to POAS tomorrow as well.

rosie evaporation lines.... aaaargh!! Had one of those once and it cured me of early testing! My worst was last cycle though, when I accidentally grabbed an OPK instead of an HPT which gave me a clear positive result. (One of them came free with a PG test I bought and I forgot it was an OPK because I never buy them, having the trusty CBFM). I spent the whole day thinking I was PG before reality dawned , and since then have been wondering every day how the hell I got an LH surge the day AF was due and if there is something properly wrong with me!! My poor DH who was just devastated when I had to tell him how stupid I'd been.

babyhoping I am feeling far too well aquainted with those horrible lows myself. I think each month that goes by with a BFN takes my mood down with it a little bit more.

You know what I wish....? I wish some miracle would happen and every single one of us would get PG this month and go forwards on the rest of the journey together.

I'm just pasting stats again because I need to amend mine a bit.

I have added your stats, Jenni4, ready for updating tomorrow.

I thought Inception was fantastic. However, it made me go a bit funny on Saturday night as I had quite broken sleep so everytime I woke, I kept thinking, "is this a dream?". I don't want to give too much away . DH thought I was mad/being silly.

Start POAS tomorrow. Hoping that this'll be the one. If AF arrives then, we'll be going back to the GP for a referral but haven't decided if that referral will be NHS or private or both[?].

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow, Boba. It'll be such a relief when the DR's start taking action.

How is everyone else doing? I've been away this weekend so I haven't had a chance to catch up with the older posts. Hope everyone is well. Is anyone testing soon? We could use a BFP on here to gee us up.

Hi Everyone...wondering if I can join your group... TTC#2. DD was conceived using the monitor, just bought another one to try again. We have been trying for 3 cycles and this is my first cycle (day 7) with the new monitor. I thought it would be nice to have others to talk about this with... Thanks!!

Hi everyone, thank you for the lovely messages, I feel welcome already.

Me and my partner have been TTC our first baby for 6 months now.

My cycles have been all over the place. I had a let down this month as I was 5 days late with lots of symptoms and then the dreaded happened. Feel ok, sad but ok. I think this monitor will really help me to chart as I have no idea what is going on down there!!

Morning all, how is everyone today?

Rosie sorry about your BFN

Welcome Rache879, how long have you been trying to conceive (TTC)? I would really recommend reading the wee instruction booklet that came with the Clearblue Fertility Monitor (CBFM) as it explains everything pretty well. I'm sure everyone here will agree it is quite useful in following your cycles and making sure you're shag*$ng with intent (SWI) at the right times.

Post your stats and we can add you to the list. We post the following: Name, what child you are trying to conceive (ie no1, no2 etc); what cycle no you are on (eg if you've been trying 11 months it would usually be cycle 11); how many cycles you've been using the CBFM; your age, your usual cycle length and what day of your cycle you're on.

Rachel879 TTC#?; Cycle ?; CBFM cycle ?; age ??; UCL ??; CD ??

Sorry for the mammoth post!

Evening, glad you ladies enjoyed Inception ... We liked it too but the end was a bit confusing [confusued]

AF due any day now, last month was on day 32 which i am on now so shouldnt be too long then i can get started with the CBFM.

Did a quick hpt this morning and got a crappy evap line (which did get my hopes up temporarily) but did another few tests across the day (holding pee all bloody day to make it concentrated) and nothing, nada Anyway just a few days now and i can start on day one again.

Rach879 Im just starting out on the CBFM this coming cycle (in just a few days) so i guess anything you dont understand from the book you can just read back on this thread a few pages or ask someone, i found the booklet pretty good although im a bit confused about the time thing, im sure it will all come together soon enough - good luck with starting it though, this thread is a lovely one with lovely friendly ladies So you have definately come to the right place.

I have been trying for a baby for a while now and today took the plunge and bought a CB fertility monitor. If you can offer any advice or tips on how this can help and how to use it that would be great. Thanks. x

baby and missy sorry you guys got AF, hopefully this month you'll have better luck.

Storm I think if you just turn it on tomo it will ask you to POAS then instead, never happened to me so not sure.

rosie yeah really enjoyed it but very complex isn't it? Some brilliant acting in it though.

Hi to essence, starlet and lychees too.

morning everyone - v. quick post....

will post again later but.....

had my peaks then went to high yesterday but the CBFM is still asking me to test and I've run out of sticks?!?!?!?!?!?!

What to do????

essenceofSES · 25/07/2010 19:58

Hello! Just checking in. Nothing to report for this month yet - no highs or EWCM so next week end mya be our best bet for SWI. Only problem is I'm due to be out both Fri and Sat evenings! Will have to hope we get a few opportunities

Had a busy day today - church, then a visit to my mum for her birthday, into town to look at kitchens (we're building an extension at the moment), pub lunch and then the usual chores. DS asleep now and I've collapsed on the sofa

missyraines - sorry for AF.

Starlet - Inception sounds great but I haven't been to the cinema in ages. Must plan a trip!

rosieposy - fingers crossed for you!

Lychees - sounds like you had a lovely weekend planned. Hope it's all gone well.

Hello everyone else

Starlet22 · 25/07/2010 11:59

Morning all,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend? We went to see Inception on Friday night - I thought it was very clever (who thinks up these ideas?!).

vnewmummy - all the best with the clomid and IUI and do keep us posted.

Storm - I've also gone straight from lows to peaks on one cycle with the CBFM. Was bit annoyed for the lack of warning! Also, will email you separately either later today/tomorrow.

Choccie - for what it's worth, I think you're doing the right thing - waiting till September is just too long to wait for someone to properly analyse your results (I should probably do the same thing given I had no breakdown of my results....). Hopefully the costs of meeting with someone to discuss your results won't be too expensive.

Finally, sorry to all those ladies whose AF has recently gotten them - fingers crossed for the next cycle!

rosieposey · 24/07/2010 21:42

Boba how did you find Inception? DH and i went to see it early in the week too. Hope you enjoyed it

Storm and Lychees will try and bear in mind what i reading on here about going straight from Lows to Peak - the monitor is supposed to measure other hormones as well as LH too isnt it? Its interesting that it seems to behave like an opk sometimes though as you dont really get any warning except for ewcm (if your lucky) that you are about to ovulate.

Well im keeping my fingers crossed - i think i ov'ed either last Saturday or Sunday (most likely Sunday as i got positives all day Saturday and then nothing on the opks on Sunday) so that 7 whole days so far without AF - just keep thinking that if i can go another 4 or so i am in with a chance this month, it will be one of the longest cycles i have ever had though at 36 days.

Will update the stats for today too ... Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. BTW shall i take vnewmummy off the stats? Ill leave her on (good luck vnewmummy!) and someone else can as im never sure what to do - will just do everyones days for now.

vnewmummy, wishing you masses and masses of luck for your IUI/Clomid attempt. You will be missed.

Storm, I have gone from lows straight to peaks twice now. I believe the peak indicates the detection of LH so that means you can ov 24-48 hours later but not sure what your temps would do around this time or what OPKs detect.

Hi Boba and everyone else.

Nearly the weekend [yayyyy!] and have lots planned. Having a break from DIY and going to see Inception at the cinema and we have a wedding to go, too. Also, I have a back up outfit for the wedding but want to check out the summer sales to see if I can pick up a bargain from Coast or Monsoon or somewhere like that.

Anyone doing anything nice? Hope you all have good ones and will catch up with you soon.
