There you go.

Thanks for the kind words [again], ladies. I feel a bit better today and guess what? I got my first peak yesterday and my Preseed arrived just in time!

Apparently, a Mrs Bingham signed for my first lot on Monday. She is not an immediate neighbour of mine as I know their names so whoever the hell you are, you shouldn't really sign for something that is not yours and not take it round to the correct address but, in any case, Mrs Bingham, I hope you are enjoying your "vaginal lubricant for conception".

Rosie, I have no idea about charting so can't help you on that front but someone will be able to.

Rach, I have been caffeine free much of my life as it gives me terrible headaches but it does not seem to have made me more fertile sadly.

I'm soooooooo glad it's Friday. Roll on 6pm ..... yay!!!

Does anyone have anything fun planned?

rosieposey · 06/08/2010 08:52

Meant to add I didn't do today's stats as I think I screwed up yesterdays as I'm using dh's iPad and I'm not as nifty on it as my own laptop so apologies if I messed anyones days up Blush

rosieposey · 06/08/2010 08:47

Starlet was just going to post about the something RE poas so early. Day6 so 1st day the monitor asked me for a stick and it a high - is that normal or do I have dodgy hormone levels?

I don't ov usually till much later in my cycles ( earliest cd16. Latest so far cd23) so how on earth can I be getting highs when af has just finished ...

Don't think I'm stressed - no more than usual anyway :) maybe am just getting old lol.

Harry- I don't think I have said congratulations yet sooooooo CONGRATULATIONS!!! :) that's wonderful news. Keeping everything crossed for a happy and healthy 9 months for you and your little bean.

Lychees :( sorry you are so down - It does help to have a little sob now and again but it's still rubbish when you have stuff all planned out and it doesn't quite go according to plan. Just crack on without the pre seed - hopefully it should arrive in super quick time now.

Essence - the dreaded 2 ww - it's the worst part of the cycle for me I find as in literally counting the days till I get the chance to poas ( but I'm very impatient) Grin good luck though and I hope it whizzes by for you.

Also does anyone have any idea why my temps are all over the place? Fot the last 4 days have been taking them 1st thing and they started higher (36.20 - 36.25) then yesterday they took a steep dive to 35.85 and this morning still really low - 35.90 - I'm not worried about being lower just wondered if it's normal to start off high then go low?

Jenni4 · 05/08/2010 22:17

Hi Ladies! Just checking in...

Ses... just letting you know I'm a POAS addict! So...since we had the same peaks I'm going to try to hang in there with you. Let me know when your testing...we can be like POAS buddies! Lol!! Can you tell how bored and lonely I am!! I would test today just to have something to do! Haha....

essenceofSES · 05/08/2010 20:30

Hello all!

Boba - glad you've been persuaded not to go anywhere

Lychees - sounds like you've had a tough few days. I think you need a treat! Beauty treatment, chocolate or something else?!

Rach879 - I think caffeine can affect fertility a little. I don't think it's necessary to completely eliminate but may be worth reducing. How many cups of tea/coffee do you have? I don't drink tea or coffee but I do drink diet coke and drink the caffeine free stuff at home.

Starlet - I think the only time I had to POAS that early was the first cycle I used CBFM.

Rosie - I also wondered whether stress is affecting your cycle? Are you feeling stressed? Do you get any "me" time?

We're now on 2ww. Trying to be realistic though as we only managed SWI once at high or peak fertility

Hey everyone, does anyone know the true impact of caffine on fertility? Should I cut it out completely? No sign of any increase in fertility yet, as this is our first cycle using the CBFM I feel quite impatient and just want to see a peak or at least a change! Did anyone else feel like that?

I hope everyone is ok.

xx

Starlet22 · 05/08/2010 13:53

Hello everyone,

Pinkie I agree with Lychees - expect you are recommended to wait one more cycle but am afraid I am no expert. I wonder if it's so your hormones can settle down before the CBFM is of any use.

Rosie - hope your cycles settle down soon.

Lychees - really strange that someone signed for your preseed - it did make me laugh though thinking that someone would be opening up your parcel to find......sperm friendly lubricant!! Anyway, sorry to hear you are feeling rather low with work and TTC and everything. I know what you mean though - I'm finding it v hard to concentrate at work. I have a little bit of news though - we have our first appointment at the fertility clinic in September. We got the appointment at the weekend (something like a 52 day wait) so not so bad. We'll see what happens next. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it as we are in London so to those of you in London who are wondering what waiting times are like (Lychees, maybe this applies to you?), they should be pretty good. I think you can choose where you go (although our GP just said I'll refer you here as I know they are good and I used to work there...). Go figure. I did a bit of research using the HFEA website and discovered that the unit we have been referred to does not carry out all types of treatment so we'll see what happens.

Re CBFM, I am on CD6 today and it asked me to POAS. I ignored it as I still have AF and the thought of wasting one of those sticks wasn't too appealing (not that I'm tight, but I have a low supply this month and am not sure if/when I'll manage to get any more any time soon!). I doubt this will affect anything as I will POAS from tomo (provided AF has gone). Anyone else had the same thing happen to them?

Hope everyone is okay.

Lychees · 05/08/2010 10:33

Morning Rosie and all you other ladies.

Rosie, might be just stress affecting your hormones [?]. Hopefully, your cycles will be back to normal or you'll get your BFP.

I got my first peak today and my Preseed has still not arrived. I'm having so much hassle lately with post and couriers. I'm starting to think my new address is jinxed . One courier lost a parcel. One courier left my parcel in the recycle box ... and guess what? It got recycled that day! This time, apparently, someone signed for my Preseed on Monday when no one was at home so they are resending it but I will probably not get to use it this cycle. So who signed for it?!? I think I have a dodgy postman. I hope he is enjoying his sperm-friendly lubricant!

I'm really miserable at work lately. I guess I imagined I'd be looking forward to going on maternity leave or actually be on maternity leave right now. I had a little cry on the tube into work behind my shades [it makes me feel a little better to release it].

How is everyone else doing?

Well will have to start poas tomorrow with the monitor, looking forward to that as its boring as hell at the beginning of a cycle.

Some people are just so damn insensitive and put their feet in their mouths when it comes to discussion about babies, ttc, ivf and suchlike. I try and always be mindful that not everyone is in the enviable position of being able to get pg straight away and of course for some people it is a hard and long road. I think when it comes to chat about that sort of thing opinions are just that, opinions and some people are quick to judge even though they have never walked a hard path themselves. Ignorance is no excuse for stupid statements and im sorry that so many of you have been at the receiving end of them.

AF was really short this time, usually i am on for a good 6 days but this time its only been about 3 - combined with much longer than usual cycles for me im wondering whats going on.

Afternoon All!

Thanks for understanding, ladies! I know we've all probably had the same feelings.

I have had my fifth high today and there is still no sign of my Preseed so I have asked them to send this out again to me as its been a week now. What is it with Royal Mail lately?!? At this rate, I won't get to give it a go this cycle .

I emailed a private clinic today about an initial consultation and they emailed back telling me what I would need to do and also to let me know that they have fre appointments available in two to three weeks; I just need to consider whether we can afford to go down that route. I haven't had an annual bonus but I am expecting a little extra in my wage packet in each of the next three months for taking on more work whilst a colleague is on sabbatical. It's not a huge amount but will certainly help a little ... lots to think about and lots of sums to do to see if we can manage.

Hopefully, it'll be our month and we won't need to consider it.

Good luck to all.

pinkie, I'm not sure of the answer to your q but one of the ladies might know. I would assume it meant two cycles since the mc so one more cycle to wait but I'm not sure.

Harry2007 · 04/08/2010 10:14

Thanks vikks x

I'm feeling absolutely shattered - I went to bed at ten past eight last night! Nice though

I'm a but anxious about the scan next Wednesday, I just want to know that everything's in the right place this time.

Vikks · 03/08/2010 21:47

Congratulations Harry!!!!
I love to see new additions to the CBFM graduates. Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months!

pinkie08 · 03/08/2010 20:48

Hi

Advise please ladies.

I have a 9 year old dd and a 8month old baby boy (ivf) without even noticing I got pg but mc 6 weeks ago. I would never have been trying at this point cos of the ivf and didn't think it would happen now am woman possessed again. So with monitor in hand wanted to start using only to read must wait 2 cycles before starting again.

Does that mean month of mc is one and last af was second or do I need to wait another?

Please can someone help I know that the baby is only 8 months but I am desperate now

Thanks anyone out there

boba82 · 03/08/2010 12:28

Thanks Lychees and choccie, don't want to go anywhere.

Lychees I know those and feeling very well. People just do not think before they open their mouths. Sure he'd change his mind if it were him having trouble TTC. One of my close friends is expectinh #2 and she fell preg when DC1 was only 1. I had awful for first few months and I am ashamed to say I probably did avoid seeing her aswell. However I prob am most open to her now about our problems TTC and find she is most understanding and least patronising when giving advice etc. Don't know how I'll feel when the baby arrives though. Have a sickie love and enjoy it!

choccie I have had months like that. It is really tiring SWI every night isn't it. I think it's really hard to stop it feeling like a chore sometimes when you're TTC.

I was watching a Friends last night where Monica & Chandler are TTC & they've just had sex and say "just think we might have a baby in 9 months". I remember having practically same converstion with DH when we first started TTC, oh the naivity. . .!

OP posts:
chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:14

lychees I have a few friends who believe the same thing. One talks about the 'overpopulated world' and how IVF is just wrong. I also have a cousin who thinks its cruel - yes cruel - for older mothers (i.e. about my age) to have children at all. All of this hurts like hell. None of them know I am TTC. They are all, as far as I am concerned, sanctimonous ignorant twits.

I started this journey feeling ambivalent about having children and we had an 'If we do get PG we do, and if we don't we don't' attitude. We only tried because we knew we may have regrets one day and wanted to at least say 'Well, we tried'. I have never had a burning maternal instinct.

Until I got my first BFP and everything changed. I started imagining my family, deciding where the cot would go, start knitting booties etc -- and then had a MMC. Broke my heart. The whole dynamic changed for me.

I think all of these people who say these things need to walk in our shoes first. I know for a fact that they have NO IDEA how they will feel about these things when its them in the firing line because I had no idea how I'd feel. My DH has probably been even more ambivalent about all this than I, but the last couple of months reality has hit him hard. Not realising how much he was feeling it, I said to him yesterday, 'If that first PG had worked out we'd have a 6month old now', and he just welled up.

People who say these things.... they simply don't have a clue. Don't let them get to you.

chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:01

x-post lychees ....

chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:00

Congrats harry. That's such good news after everything you've been through!

boba don't go anywhere please.

storm I hate to think what your pregnancy cravings will be like when you get your BFP.

I've been trying to give preseed a skip this cycle lychees, even though we did get a BFP in Dec using it. We just thought we needed to try one cycle without since we've had so many with, and see if it makes any difference. Instead I've been drinking copious quantities of grapefruit juice inthe hope of boosting what nature gives me just a bit more. Pure desperation really.

AFM - I'm on CD14 today and usually get a peak around today, but still on high despite second day of EWCM. In fact, I have had nothing but highs from CD8 when I was first asked to test ... has anyone else had that?

We decided to throw everything at this month and have been SWI'ing every second day since CD8, and every day since CD12, and I am tired already ... was really hoping for a peak so we could begin to see the finish line! But no, tonight's another night, and tomorrow, and the one after ... Knowing my luck it will be annovulatory and the only finish line will be AF arriving.

Lychees · 03/08/2010 11:48

Boba, don't go! Of course, you should be on this thread.

No sign of my Preseed yet and another high for me this morning [four days in a row ... more than I have ever had before].

Also, I found out today that my cousin is expecting #2 [#1 is only 8 months old] so feeling sad and .

It doesn't help that I've been feeling low lately as work is horrible ... my manager is away so I'm getting lots of extra work, my best work buddy is away so there is no-one to cheer me up and I'm getting some of her work to do, too. And I had a terrible meeting with the VAT men on Friday. Also, I had an argument with a guy in my office the other day when we were chatting about cloned cows. Basically, he said that he didn't believe in IVF, his exact words were "if you can't have children naturally then you shouldn't have children" .

I feel a sickie coming on.

Sorry for the rant. I'm sure I'll be in a much better mood soon.

P.S. Hello everyone!

Angelgirl79 · 03/08/2010 10:48

Hi All still keeping an eye on things with you all and hello to everyone new.

Congratulations Harry - Im so pleased for you and delighted to see another BFP on the posts!!
