Got a bit bored and wanted to see when my "Special day" was. Looked it up using the calculater on the side. Result: 11 March 2011. I used the due date one instead of the ovulation one. So frazzled today. Watching one born every minute to freak myself out.

I'm taking the chilled out approach, I have PCOS so I'm fairly sure we'll need some assistance. The way I see it is that we have time to kill before we'll be seen by a specialist so we might as well try. Besides, that's the fun bit! One of my closest friends was a nutcase when she was ttc so I'm trying to avoid that if possible. We nearly had to sedate the poor girl and she was only trying for 6 months.
Congrats to you Lucypeanut, I hope you're taking it easy.

Lucypeanut · 29/05/2010 19:30

Just wanted to say good luck ladies, I am 3 months pregnant with twins after being on the pill for 14 years! was pregnant the 2nd month of trying. Apparently right after you come off the pill you an be very fertile

Going to be watching and hoping to hear good news for you all

Nicolaplus1 · 29/05/2010 19:24

You sure can corabear....

how exciting so you are eagerly awaiting ovulation?
whats your approach are you just guna enjoy the trying and see what happens or are you going for the "must not miss the special days" LOL aptly named by my DH when we conceived DD ?

Me personally am going for the latter again, am also 30 this year nd DD is 18 months so now we've decided i would like it to happen asap

So anyway this is my 1st proper cycle after stoping the pill and am currently on day 2, so will be eagerly awaiting ovulation x

Can I join too?
Just finished my period and we've decided to try for our first baby. I insisted on waiting 'til after my 30th birthday (I wanted to get nice and drunk)and now here I am. Up until a week ago I was quietly exited at the thought of ttc, now I'm terrified.DP is very relaxed about the whole thing.

Nicolaplus1 · 28/05/2010 13:07

Well IT arrived 2day as expected with period cramps i had a couple of days ago.

So anyway cycle starts again lol am not sure that those bloody sticks are duff i tested from day 10 up un til 2 days ago.

So plan for this month if BD BD BD...... as much as poss.

am actulally wondering if i didnd ovulate this month, is was the first month off the pill which i actually just stopped mid packet!

NanBullen · 26/05/2010 20:01

update - Just found out i'm pregnant and i only came off the pill in march! I thought it would take ages

MrsElf · 11/05/2010 15:26

Sorry for going quiet, our computer was refusing to connect to the internet, which was unhelpful on so many levels!
All ready to begin, coil came out on Friday! I've no idea where I am at all though, having had light/no periods for seven years. The nurse said that it's fine to start trying straight away (and apparently if the coil came out for any other reason, they recommend no sex for a week beforehand, just in case). I don't really want to start playing with temperature charts etc, especially as DH already thinks I'm getting obsessed!

Nicolaplus1 · 05/05/2010 20:26

Lol mrself i cant beleive how anxious i am again this time i thought id be more relaxed about it.

Any news on the appointment?

It is, what gave it away? The first time terror nerves?! Or is it because I'm clueless ?

Nicolaplus1 · 03/05/2010 21:51

I dont think your body ever completely settles down after a baby any way lol so coul all be different 2 nd time round hense why im not presuming i still ovulate same time.

Ebay is best/cheapest place there are 100's selling em but mostl all the same ones x

No this is my second and last time I came off the pill I went straight back to a 28 day cycle. Will give the sticks a try. Thanks and good luck.

Nicolaplus1 · 03/05/2010 20:59

Hi NK

Is this your 1st?

You will be regular as clockwork while on the pill as this will determine whne your period arrive.

Most things you read will say you ovulate between 10-14 days.

I figured out first time round ( with the help of prediction sticks) that i ovulate late around 17 days.

I would def reccomend them ive just ordered sum more for this time just in cast its changed lol

Hi - I've also came off the pill in March and we are now ready ttc. However, I'm having some cycle confusion - my first non-pill-induced period cycle was 30 days long. But my last one was just 20! I've never had such a short cycle. How do I figure out when I'll be ovulating this month?? I'm normally regular as clockwork...

Nicolaplus1 · 03/05/2010 19:57

LOL i keep thinking about it all the time again!!!

Is this yor 1st Mrs Elf??

MrsElf · 03/05/2010 14:59

Thanks Nicloaplus1, I'm glad I'm not alone feeling nervous, it seems weird that after several years of waiting for the 'right' time to begin ttc I am suddenly glad of any hold up! Now waiting to hear when appointment is, as the receptionist wasn't sure whether I need a dr, nurse, or both.

Nicolaplus1 · 02/05/2010 21:39

LOL i know what you mean the amount of time me and DH get to practice baby dancing concieving may be like themmaculate conception!!

Must make more of an effort i guess ha ha

Well anyway period started today so am now on the coundown to "special days" aka ovulation, DH aptly naed them these 1st time round.

NanBullen · 01/05/2010 22:34

yeah, had ds 2 1/2 years ago now. we thought we'd better get cracking on another one sooner rather than later as we're not getting any younger!

I have a feeling it'll take longer to happen this time though. Probably because I'm nearly 35, and a lot tireder!

Nicolaplus1 · 01/05/2010 22:15

Easier said than done though isnt it

Is this your 2nd baby?

OP posts:
NanBullen · 01/05/2010 22:13

I know! I'm just going to try and chill out and see what happens this month. give my body chance to settle down after coming off the pill.

Nicolaplus1 · 01/05/2010 22:04

I was exactly thesame ovulated late around 17-18 i convinced myself i didnt ovulate for a day or 2 as everything you read says ovulation is between 10-14 das or summat daft!!
