Hey ladies has anyone else just tried the "having sex everyday" approach? im also ovulating this week not really sure when, but peed on an ovulation stick this morning and got a positive, does that mean today or should we be at it for the next couple of days

QueenofDreams · 27/04/2010 14:52

Hey booty alll the best to you
AF = Auntie Flo (period)
BFP = Big fat positive (pregnancy test)

acronym list

babylove2 · 27/04/2010 10:44

Hi ladies, congrats to you queenofdreams

I have started the ovulation process, me and hubby are going for the "try" everyday approach. not sure if that will work and he will run out of sperm? lol

Anywhoo keeping my fingers crossed for everyone

xx

BootyMum · 27/04/2010 10:40

Hello everyone, can I join too! Have been reading about QueenofDream's fantastic news and hope this may be a lucky thread
Am ttc baby number 2, have DS of one year old. 36 years old, nearly 37, and still BF...
First period following birth of DS started on 11th April - so now in fertile period...
Sorry for not using more abbreviation as not sure what some of them mean - AF, BFP for example??? Sorry for being so ignorant but am relatively new to Mumsnet!
Best of luck to everyone else ttc!!!

itsjustclaire · 26/04/2010 20:53

QueenofDreams - Congratulations on your fantastic news!! I am so pleased for you.

Yumosh - I know exactly what you mean, I can't help thinking about TTC all the time. I too have been told by friends not to think about it too much and it will happen...but it is so much more difficult than it sounds.

Lib76 · 26/04/2010 12:41

hi girls thought i would join this thread. Been ttc for 5 months, baby number two. Cycles had been pretty much 30 days but last cycle 35 and currently on day 36 bfn yesterday and sure af is on her way!

QueenofDreams · 26/04/2010 12:30

Hi ladies, how are you all doing?

yumosh I just ignored the fact that we were ttc. I know it sounds strange. The downside to that approach is that I was really shocked when I got my BFP, and I've been panicking a bit about it all.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 25/04/2010 12:15

yumosh Pineapple is supposed to help - although I heard it's actually pineapple juice (something about when its juiced certain chemicals are broken down). Also brazil nuts, both of these are high in selenium which are supposed to help with implantation.
You are only supposed to have one small glass of pineapple juice and one small handful of brazil nuts a day.

Would be keen to hear from others if there is anything else we should be troughing on

yumosh · 24/04/2010 23:34

hi..

been ttc for about a year..

cycle all over the place..

anyone know of any foods that is supposed to help? i heard pineapple!?

and if anyone else tells me 'not to think about it too much' ill have to stick an ovulation stick up their noses!!!
I do exist in my body and it's very difficult to 'switch off'... especially when AF is due and the tww..too emotional to ignore it..is it possible?

hope all you ladies best of luck

bossyboop · 24/04/2010 10:30

cd17 actually, double checked, how i dont know that off by heart i dont know!

bossyboop · 24/04/2010 10:29

Fingers crossed and positive hopes for everyone! Im on cd 16 and have cramping and lower back pain on right side, too early for af, fingers crossed its implantation!

QueenofDreams · 24/04/2010 10:18

thanks ladies
Truth to tell caija I'me finding myself incredibly nervous suddenly. I guess because we're so settled with one DC there's the worry of how we'll find a new balance with two. Also hoping this pregnancy a)sticks b) is not as hideous as when pg with ds!

bossyboop · 24/04/2010 09:14

congratulations, lovely to see some good news!

OP posts:
QueenofDreams · 23/04/2010 20:34

Can't yet - haven't got another test. Will be popping out to buy one as soon as DP gets home. lady on my pn thread is convincing me that this is a bfp. - the blank part of the cross corresponds to the control line that isn't there, so it looks llike the inking didn't work - in which case bfp.
Not going to get excited till I've retested and got a concret + or - though

caija · 23/04/2010 20:32

OH MY GOD QOD!!! HAVE U RETESTED? XXX

OP posts:
QueenofDreams · 23/04/2010 20:16

Argh just POAS
Have 3/4 of a cross in the result window but no little line in the control window. So I'm going to have to retest. Argh. was fully expecting a bfn, now this has me wondering.

caija · 23/04/2010 13:47

Hi QOD, it is very hard, I am having such a hard time recently, Jack has just turned 3, so no longer "a baby" if you know what I mean? So, it is obv he is not doing what other kids are doing, whereas when he was a baby he was just like all the other babies....I just find it extremely hard to deal wth that he will most probably be like a baby forever, when my dd is gonna grow up, leave home etc... I just feel for my lil man soo much..xx

OP posts:
QueenofDreams · 23/04/2010 11:30

caija I can't imagine how hard it is to have a disabled child. My older brother had severe down's syndrome along with all the health probs and complications that go along with it. (He died before I was born though) when I had a miscarriage my dad was very upset at first, but then said 'usually if you miscarry it's because there's something wrong with the baby, and I wouldn't want you to go through that'

Glad you ladies get to do every other day! doesn't happen that much here what with DP's long hours and long commute

bossyboop · 23/04/2010 09:44

Weve gone for the every other day approach and managed a whopping 6 times since af, have noticed a pattern around ovulation so think we have hit the right time just a case of seeing if it works, fingers crossed!
