TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

strike1 · 17/08/2005 18:43

Baggybear, bit slow on the uptake, but I just read your words on the miscarriage thread. You couldn't have said it any better or more beautifully. It is jsut how I felt/feel all the time. Never forgoten.

maddyd · 17/08/2005 17:51

Afternoon all. I only call my period af now, im so used to it. Luckily i dont often talk about af's in RL much. otherwise people would think im mad, well more mad than usual anyway.

Diddle · 17/08/2005 17:15

No thanks needed baggy and it does take a while to understand all the shortened versions, but you do get the hang of it. because i type fo rmuch on here though i often find myself typing it in emails to friends and family. DH instead of husband etc. oops

baggybear · 17/08/2005 17:05

Thanks for letting me know those. Hadn't noticed the list at top of page - derrr!!!! One more though (!) CM???? Again, i know what you mean but wondering what it stands for. Its not on the list. Sorry, you must be thinking "dummy" but just curious

Congrats shelly24. Good to hear all is okay with you.

Decided to ring hospital in the morning and enquire about official complaints process for that dept. After reading your views and those of a few friends, I think it is my duty to complain so other women aren't treated so badly. I have the backing of my GP and now haemotology are involved I think the complaint will be taken seriously - hopefully.

Diddle · 17/08/2005 17:02

Firstly congratulations to peepee and petunia that is fantastic news, brought a tear to my eye, soooo pleased for you both, you deserve it.

maddyd - happy to hear from you and good news that you're weaning yourself off the tabs, can't be much fun for you at the moment though. Get chasing those docs with your results and please stay in touch.

baggybear - Have read your poem and now need to go and get some tissues. Its beautiful lovely words and so true

chocolatepeanut - I've tried to lurk but i'm sure i will miss something important, wasn;t going to login today but glad i ahve now, and have had a chance to congratulate the lucky ones.

hc - Hope your Dh is ok, and recovers soon. You too, i'm sure it shocked you a bit as well, they are worrying. We used to have a motorbike and I was always worried when DH was out on it on his own.

nicmum2boys - hope AF stays away for a bit longer, what cd are you on??

Hello to everyone else i've forgotten.

I'm sure most of you have seen the thread with Miscarriage poems on, but heres a link anyway. I was a right mess after reading them, so be prepared. they really are lovely though.

Hi Shelly,
Good to have you checking in. Glad all well!

shelly24 · 17/08/2005 14:46

Hey girls, hope everyone is ok today!!
Hi to peepee, congrats on your excellent news!I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months ahead!
Also hi to baggybear,so sorry to hear about you m/c and i really hope that this thread is as lucky for you(and all the other girls trying)as it was for me.x.x.
Am currently 6+3 and went to see doc this morning to get the ball rolling, they have registered me under queen charlottes,as i was there for alot of testing and scans before Rhys died,so i thought i'd rather go there where i know i'll be looked after and monitored to the highest standards, plus they've got all my notes, and i just think their generally alot better than my local hospital.
I got really upset about going to the docs and paniced abit about doing all this again so soon,i'm terrified that lightening will strike twice!
The doc was really nice though and calmed me down alittle bit,so i left there feeling alot better.
Is anyone close to testing?I hope you don't mind me checking up on everyone and letting you know how i'm doing?,this sight is just so inspiring for me and i have got really close to acouple of people who have been through similar situations like myself.I'm only sorry i don't write alot more than i do,i always have a quick catch up though every couple of days, and love tracking everyones progress.
C.p:How are you hunny,i have really missed chatting to you lately, sorry i haven't been around, hows the ttc going with you at the mo?sending you lots of (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))),and luck for the months to come(would love you to be in my position VERY soon!!.)
Madds:How are you hunny!?So glad to hear that your getting yourself all healthy for the future months ttc!!!And that your starting to feel abit better.Whats happening with your weekend away? Are you going to arrange it for sometime in the near future?(hope so!!!)
I'll come bk abit later and have a chat.x.x.x
Lots of love, luck and babydust to all.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.

peepee · 17/08/2005 11:15

Baggybear,

Check out the acronym list at the top of the page just under topics etc.......

It is hard trying to work some of the stuff out. I have been on some threads and they may aswell be speaking(writing) in a foreign language.

Anyway, AF = Aunt flow = periods
BD = Baby dancing = having sex

Have fun checking out the list.

Peepee.

spub · 17/08/2005 11:10

WC - have a great holiday!
Hopefully lots of positive news when you get back!

Baggy - AF is Auntie Flo (aka your period)
BD is baby dancing (aka sex!!!)

It's all very confusing when people use these acronyms at first and then you find yourself bandying them around like a good 'un!
HTH

baggybear · 17/08/2005 11:05

Can I ask a really dumb question? What do the following actually stand for? I mean, I get the gist of what your saying but you've got me a-thinkin'!

AF?
BD?

Thanks and sorry for being so stoopid!!

wishingchair · 17/08/2005 10:55

Just wanted to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to petunia and peepee!!! Fantastic news!

Baggy - that's awful, yes I would complain. Definitely. Especially since your GP was very concerned.

And to everyone else ... I'm off on my hols for a couple of weeks so won't be around. Going to relax, start ov testing and bd as much as possible. Hopefully we'll have more happy news when I get back!

maddyd · 17/08/2005 10:39

Thanks Strike, It was good to have a month off really. I feel like im starting afresh. Now im wishing my af would arrive, thats a first!!!!!!!

spub · 17/08/2005 10:36

Baggy,
No wonder you are upset. That is AWFUL bordering on negligent. It's bad enough trying to get pregnant and worrying about miscarrying without any added stress or additional threat of miscarriage because the medics haven't done their job properly. Feel really bad for you.

strike1 · 17/08/2005 10:31

Baggybear, you have every right to be p**sed off! I didn't know my blood group when I went to the epu and they tested me and told me before doing my erpc and let me know what it all meant ( not that any of it sunk in!) You should complain or at least let your doctor complain for you as otherwise the epu's low standards will go on effecting other women!

HC hope you and DH are getting over you ordeal. Scary stuff, my DH used to have a bike, but got rid of it when he scared himself too much!

Glad your feeling better Maddyd, you'll be super fit for ttc next month

Any more testers this week?

baggybear · 17/08/2005 09:34

Mornign all!! Hope you are all well.

Spub - good news on smiley today. Hope it works out his month

HC - Hope you DH id okay today. Must have shaken you both up to say the least. I'm with you nicmum2boys, motorbikes make me uneasy.

Even though I'm Rh-neg, I'm not that clued up on details as I have been looked after so well during my other pregnancies. MY GP was very worried though. SHe said that if this baby was RH-pos and my body had already started making antibodies to fight different blood, Then my body will see any future RH-pos baby as a threat to my body and attack it. So, I may have recurrent M/Cs until I get a RH-neg baby. It won't make me ill, just a baby. I am so angry at EPU. I can't believe they failed to mention something so important. This could be very serious...

...sorry to bring the mood down. I am a happy person really, just a bit p**sed off right now. Promise I will smile now

spub · 17/08/2005 09:17

Hurrah! Fantastic news about Petunia and Peepee!
This is a lucky thread!!

My own good news is that I got a smiley face in my OPK this morning!!!! Looked like this

Been bding before breakfast and plan to do as much more as poss over the next 48 hrs. How much sex do you think is the optimal amount??????

Hope you are all ok this morning.

HC - at your dh.Hope he's ok. Not at all shaken up by the sound of things. Men are really from another planet!

Baggy - Dunno much about Rh neg per se but I would certainly raise the fact that the EPU hadn't treated you at all well at such a distressing time.

maddyd · 17/08/2005 08:12

Oh god i forget Tabs and Chocolatepeanut too, hope you are well

maddyd · 17/08/2005 08:11

Wow Petunia, Congratulations. This is turning out to be a lucky Month. Hello welcome and Congratulations to Peepee.

I have not been around much as ben weak and pathetic. This no fat diet has left me drained and moody plus with not bding this month ive been pee'd off anyway.

Good news is the pain has sussided and im weaning myself off painkillers all ready for September to try again. Still no news on scan which is terrible i think but apparently they dont treat gall stones as urgent.

Anyway af due in around a week. Ive been taking my folic acid, evening primrose oil and Royal Jelly so i have the healthiest cm ever. I also found out i ovulate early so next month fingers crossed is going to be lucky for me.

Hows is Diddle, Humphreyscorner, Hellkat, Cori and nic2mumboys and of course lucky Shelly. I hope your well and that your pregnancy is going well Shelly, i know its only been a week or so but everyday counts in our situation doesnt it???
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

nicmum2boys · 16/08/2005 22:30

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to peepee and Petunia Excellent news, wishing you a happy and healthy nine months.

Thanks Baggybear (and everyone else) for your support. It really helps having you guys to talk to. Baggybear on your behalf, that is really bad how the hospital treated you. It should be routine to ask you what your blood group is. What are the implications for future pregnancies?

HC sorry about your DH, have to say, motorbikes make me cringe. I see so many taking risks (not saying that your DH was, just that I see it alot) esp when overtaking, I just hope and pray my DSs never want to ride one. I think practically everyone we know who has a motorbike has come off it at some point . Hope he (and you) are OK ((hugs)).

Well, I've been for a nice relaxing swim this evening, and had a nice glass of wine too, so now I feel much more chilled out. Still getting backache and period pain already at only 4dpo, so not holding out much hope for a longer cycle this month .

Tabs · 16/08/2005 21:08

I do like a nice bit of happy news. Congratulations Petunia and Peepee.

HumphreysCorner · 16/08/2005 21:02

Off to bed now as still feeling distraught but must say...

CONGRATULATIONS PETUNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It had to be good news for one of us.
