TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Diddle · 27/07/2005 15:15

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

Mojo so sorry to hear about your trouble but you sound really positive. I should probably follow your lead and head for health food shop. Good luck!

Did miscarriage association have any good advice?

Mojomummy · 22/08/2005 11:43

Hi Sunnyside - sorry to hear hear your story. I know how you feel as I just miscarried last week & had an ERCP last Tuesday.

I was told 2 different things in the hospital, so have been seaching for info. I rang the miscarriage association & asked their advice. They said whenever you are ready - if your body can ovulate, you can make a baby.

Have been to the health food shop & stocked up on Agnus Castus ( recommended on here), selenium (for me & hubby), zinc, because apparently when you have a miscarriage you lose a lot of zinc ( for both of us - helps make good sperm)& of course pregnacare. Not sure if it will help, but better to have tried. Also looking out for a good supply of royal jelly/propolis/bee pollen.

sunnyside · 22/08/2005 11:05

Added my stats, I sound like a proper sicknote! I'm not, since my miracle DS arrived have been as strong as an ox . Unfortunately I have obviously been eating like an ox too and have been piling on the pounds! Need to get a grip if I'm to have a chance of PG I think.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for welcoming me.

Diddle · 22/08/2005 10:53

strike1 - glad you had such a good weekend, you lucky thing. Yes not sure why i'm more relaxed, could have something to do with the fact that i haven't had a spare second to even think about ttc, I have been busy from the time i get up to the time i go the bed, and even then i read my book. I used to have time to sit and watch tv, but not anymore.

Keeping busy works.

Hi all. Welcome Sunnyside, so sorry to hear of your m/c. I know that feeling of really wanting to get pg again, don't worry it'll happen and here there's loads of support and laughs to be had in the process.

Had a fab weekend, went out to a Salsa club with the girls on Saturday night and had a great time! Came home and good old dh was up for a weekend of bding so hopefully we can catch the right time this month I feel much more relaxed about it all....so far, but when it gets to testing stage I'm sure I'll go mental again. You seem much more relaxed this time diddle, I hope I can be the same. The way I see it, there's know use getting to worked up, cause it doesn't help.....I'll keep repeating that to myself the closer I get to testing time

Diddle · 22/08/2005 10:27

sunnyside - we have a stats thread where you can leave a bit of info about yourself, please feel free to fill us in, the link is below.

welcome sunnyside - I think it depends on you and how you feel, as to when you try again. It also depends on your circumstances and your doctor, they all give different advice. I m/c at the end of Jan 05 and tried again straight away, and was pg before my first period. That pregnancy (pg) also ended in m/c at the beginning of April. So this time we waited and we stil are waiting, it will have been 5 months next week or trying.
Doesn't sound like a long time but feels like a lifetime.
Very sorry to hear about your m/c, hope you're holding up ok. How far along were you, and did you m/c (miscarry) naturally or have a d&c?

Hellkat,

I was really pleased to hear from you. A lovely surprise.

So sorry u are having a crappy time at the moment. AF does get us down sometimes. After my last m/c in April A/F was all over the place. There were 14 days between periods. I was really down. It's no fun. I would go and see your doctor or go to casualty if the bleeding continues for so long. How long have you been bleeding for now? There were lots of clots in mine too, until my last period. I had to stop with tampax and move onto towels.
I really hope it sorts itself out.
Relax as you said you would and take it nice and easy.
Thanks for popping over to say hi!
Take care......
Hugs

Hi Sunnyside,
Welcome to our thread. Sorry to hear about your M/C
I think most of us here have had miscarriages this year. Some of us multiple ones at various stages. I think it is quite natural to want to try again quite quickly. I had my miscarriage at the end of April. I waited for two cycles to pass before trying again. I was told by my acupuncturist that I should wait until I had a normal period.
I have been trying again for two months. (seems like longer). I think the general advice is to wait for one period to pass before trying again. I have read( dont know how reliable the source is) that there is a slightly higher risk of M/C if you get pregnant straight away.

sunnyside · 22/08/2005 09:57

hello ladies I have been lurking since 21 July (m/c) and was determined not to be thinking of ttc for a few months but I can't stop thinking about it. Do people just get straight back on with it or is there a set wait time?

Have you all been ttc for a long time? You all seem v knowledgeable and the acronyms are just something else!

cori · 22/08/2005 09:56

I havent tested yet. I am trying to hold off as long as I can as I am not really feeling very positive anymore.
I have had few symptoms, but probably just premenstual signs. Might test later.

maddyd · 22/08/2005 09:52

Good actually thankyou for asking. Can control the pain with my diet which is healthy, but then an odd thing like a cup of tea will set it off.

Looking forard to trying again, thats for sure. I cant believe how long its dragging out now. Mind you, you know that feeling. Its gets very dishearteneing doesnt it

Diddle · 22/08/2005 09:26

OP posts:
Diddle · 22/08/2005 09:26

There's always a chance maddyd but the there has every other month, and nothing happened, so we'll have to wait and see.

maddyd · 22/08/2005 08:34

Morning Everyone. Hope you are well. How you doing Hellkat? Diddle no point me testing as no bd action in my house last month due to me being poorly. Temp dropped today so af should be here in a few days, thankfully, its been the longest month ever. How about you? I know your af is due but any chance you could be pg?

Diddle · 22/08/2005 08:11

Hellkat - sounds like you're having a really rough time, i don't know how you keep going after losing all that blood, hope its easing off today, definitly get it lasered, you don't need all this hassle.

Baggybear - Hope you had a good weekend away, and are feeling a little more refreshed.

Humprheys - i wonder where AF is, have you had any symptoms??

Nicmum2boys - I'm trying to ignore any symptoms, i always read too much into them, and since the m/c's I seem to be having my pg symptoms when AF comes. Its so annoying. Yes i'm due Friday too, fingers crossed for us, although i'm really not holding out much hope, and this time i;m not kidding myself. I really don't expect anything.

lottielou are you with us today???? sorry i missed you on Friday, hope you're ok.

Spub - have a good holiday, enjoy the break and come back with some good news.

Maddyd, Cori - have you tested yet??? hope you're both OK.

Evening ladies-phew, bought a new computer tower and DH has finally got it working (but bits have blown on it but at least it's not stopping me talking to you all)-felt like I had lost my right arm not being able to get on mumsnet.

Well-still waiting for AF-was due Thursday so did another test today and nope-not a thing. I am fed up now as just want to get on with it for next month. HellKat-are you being greedy again and borrowing my AF? Hope you manage to get rid of yours soon ((xx))

spub-have a lurvely holiday and let's hope you bring good news back with you ((xx))

Diddle, nicmum2boys, cori and maddyd-good luck with testing and anyone else that might be soon((xx))

CHOCOLATEPEANUT-hope you feel much brighter soon ((xx))

Hello to Mojomummy, baggybear (on hols), LunarSea, strike1, wishingchair, shelly24, petunia, peepee and welcome back Lottielou. Also hello to anyone else out there.

Right, must catch up with E-Bay and order some more sticks. Bought two tests £1 each from Tickertboo today-negative of course. I keep thinking I have duff tests but we all know that they must be right.

Anyway, byee for now and will speak tomorrow.

XXXXX

spub · 21/08/2005 18:04

Good luck to all the testers! Off on hols tomorrow til 1 Sept. May not get online during that time so fingers crossed for you all.
My AF due the day before I get back so my next post will be about whether of not a BFP has been achieved....
Good luck and have a nice few days (if at all posible!)

HellKat · 21/08/2005 17:56

nic- thanks hun! fingers crossed for testing!
ds2 is chucking a huge paddy! Think he'll be in bed soon!

nicmum2boys · 21/08/2005 17:14

Hi all, hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying the weekend.
Diddle well done for not testing, I am due same day as you I think (friday), so I'm counting down the days too. I can't decide how I feel this month symptoms wise. I am 9dpo, so pleased not to have seen any bleeding yet after last month, but I keep rushing to the loo thinking AF has arrived, as I keep getting really bad period pain, and just that moist feeling down below like she has arrived (sorry tmi ), but so far nothing, much to my relief. I'm also feeling really tired, and have very sore boobs. I'm kind of swinging one way one minute that these must be pg symptoms, and then the next that they are def signs of AFs imminent arrival. Only time will tell I know. Either way, unless AF arrives tonight, I am pleased to have had a longer cycle this month as I feel like if there was a little bean it would have had a chance to implant (if that makes sense??).

Hellkat your periods sound like a nightmare. No wonder you are feeling woozy loosing that much that quickly. ((((hugs)))) hope you can get to the doctor and he can do something for you really quickly.

HellKat · 21/08/2005 16:30

Well done!!! Can't test here. Ran out and decided not to bother buying anymore, especially whilst af is being so horrid. Thinking about going to the dr tomorrow if it does'nt ease up. TMI coming up, going through super+ pax and nightime pad every hour and a half! Also losing (apart from loads of blood) what looks like tissue. I'm presuming this is yet more stuff left behind from the last d&c. Definitely looks like I'll be asking for the laser surgery sooner rather than later. Feeling really woozy. So hot bath planned plus a night curled up with a blankie watching Sky!

Diddle · 21/08/2005 10:12

Hellkat - All fine here, DH is good, working hard as always, DIY today, putting a new floor down in the utility room, as I STILL have no washing machine plumbed in. i'm sure it has been about 4 months now.
I'm very proud of myself this month, by now I would have been through a few tests and wasted loads of money, but i honestly haven;t done one yet. well done me.

Madddyd - how about you, have you managed to stay away from testing?? no porkies please, tell the truth

OP posts:
HellKat · 20/08/2005 18:17

Diddle-All good here ta! How's you and dh? Ds1 is away for 2 weeks with his dad to Devon so very quiet here. Making sure I'm playing lots of peek-a-boo with ds2 (ds1 and him played it all the time together) so he doesn't miss him too much. Yep af's driving me crazy. painkillers are'nt even getting near the pain so planning on a soak tonight. Bang goes lots of bd while ds1 is away hey?

Diddle · 20/08/2005 14:51

Hellkat - good to hear from you, hope your family are all ok and doing well. sorry about your AF, shes a pain isn't she!!!

Mojomummy - glad you're in a positive mood. does some good to try and stay that way, but don't be surprised when another bad day comes, you've been through a lot.

Maddyd - How you doing today hunny??

Cori - I'm testing next week, due Friday, trying to wait until then, not feeling very positive, so not going to waste any tests by starting early. might not need to tests at all if AF shows up. Good luck to you though, and let us know what happens Monday.

OP posts:
HellKat · 20/08/2005 11:24

Nope Maddy. Can't be bothered to. My body's always been really good letting me know when I do so going au natural. Yep af's being a royal pain in the ass!
