TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

Excellent news! All the doctors at my surgery are female which is good. 2 are excellent and have been great about the ttc and m/c thing, so I just avoid the other one. It makes such a difference when you feel someone is listening and hearing you. You'll probably find your pg this month now, after all that Lets hope so!

LunarSea · 23/08/2005 13:30

hi strike - "interview" about sums it up. It wasn't actually with a doctor just one of their healthcare assistants, and was basic stuff about medical history, and checking BP and urine etc. But she did tell me which of the doctors she reckoned would be the most sympathetic to us, so at least I know who to try to see - just need to wait for the records from the old place to come through now. Actually the new practice has 5 youngish female doctors out of 8, so I'm almost spoilt for choice.

Am seeing a consultant tomorrow though (have to pay for it, but after all this time I'm just glad to be getting somewhere at last), so who knows, perhaps we'll start seeing some progress even before I actually get to see the new GP.

strike1 · 23/08/2005 12:42

Fantastic day here too. Isn't everything nicer when the sun shines....god I sound like my nan!

Have you given in yet Diddle? Try and hold of till the morning as you'll have more hc thingy in your system (technical term)

Just come back from the gym, as I to am try to shift a few pounds before all the baby weight goes on (Please this month!!)

Morning All!
Xena - I'm not doing too bad thanks, things have been quite up and down for me lately but am trying to get back on track so fingers crossed i'll get back into this whole saga of TTC. Hope the weight loss is going ok? Are you eating healthily? Silly question, i presume you are! Where are you at at the mo then, CD days, testing etc! xxx
Diddle - Morning hun, glad i made you grin yesterday. Yeah this whole AF messing me around was really getting me down, i dont know where i am from one day to the next. I do feel quite bloated at the mom so i'm guessing she'll be rearing her ugly head any day now. One thing i haven't been getting is any pains with my AF so thats a good thing.
So what CD are you on now?
I do need a holiday, i'm in desperate need on one, we are hoping to get away for a week next month so fingers crossed nothing comes up so i cant go, i will be more than annoyed.
I have my brother staying with DP nad i for a few weeks, he's in between places to live so we offerd him our spare room - the kind sister that i am! Tis stressful tho but a helping hand and all that.
Hows your DH and family, yours your grandad hun?
Ooohhh it's good to be back! xxxx
Need to inject some loopy lottieness into this thread! xx xx

Mojo - I'm sure I can guess the question you kept asking! Unfortunately it seems there is really no answer for any of us but at least that means we can keep trying and hoping!

I'm like you but with lovely DH and DS instead of DD.

Lunarsea - So glad that you've met someone in the know who's been able to reassure you that you're absolutely in the right to keep trying for referral. You go girl! Best of luck tomorro I'll be thinking of you.

Cori - good on you for joining what I lovingly call 'fat birds club!' I lost a lot of weight with them a few years ago but fell off the wagon when became ill and lost too much. It seems I worked too hard at putting a bit back on! I'm off there for ritual humiliation tomorrow. I love it really. I hope you'll not be a mamber for long and that baby dust sticks to every bit of you!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 22/08/2005 21:17

HC Hope your AF stays away xxxx

Lunarsea Glad thinks are looking more hopeful on GP front.About time eh?!

Evening to all other ladies.Hope all is well.

I am still feeling off.Got a headache that wont go away.On CD 21 and been ov testing since CD 15 and no result yet.Got a faint line tonight and although I know thats not a positive its the most I have got this week and feeling twitchy pains so hopefully could come yet...

Thing is cycle was 28 days since I was listening to Duran Duran (1st time round) and reading Jackie. But since I lost Philippa it has gone to 31 days and and then 33.If getting longer could mean thats why no ov yet or if reverts back to 28 days then tested too late and missed it.But no clear and stretchy cm this month so WHO knows.....

Anyhow got plenty of chocolate in so at least I should be able to refrain from murdering anyone..as feel pmt too!!!

cori · 22/08/2005 20:54

Have decided to something postive as I am (probably) not pregnant. I have joined Wight Watchers. When I was pregnant I some how managed to put on almost a stone ( in just four and half months) I was hungry all the time. Hopefully I wont have to be a member for very long. ( I may get BFP+ yet). It will give me something else to obsess about abd take my mind of TTC. Of course it cant help getting pregnant as well.

Diddle · 22/08/2005 20:38

night night humphreys, hope the "evil withc" either shows her face right now, or she stays away for a good nine months.

Mojomummy, I never spoke to anyone from the miscarriage assoc, but now wonder if i should have. sounds like they were a great help. mumsnet was my therapy, just being able to write down all my feelings really, really helped.

Maddyd - Very sensible of you, you should have a holiday too, maybe you should start a holiday fund, and even if its just a weekend away to a cottage in the middle of nowhere, at least you can relax.

Evening ladies

Welcome sunnyside-hugs to you hun. We will look after you! ((xx))

cori- on your BFN-know how it feels ((xx))

I really haven't much to say as still waiting for the return of the evil witch-4 days late. Have the usual symptons-huge tender boobs strongs smells and feeling sick and discharge like you wouldn't believe! I think these are called 'all in my imagination' symptons

And finally-my thought for the day:

IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS BEFORE STICK TESTS I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD EXCITED WITH MY PERIOD BEING LATE BUT AS ALL TESTS ARE BFN I'M PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until tomorrow girls-good night.
xxx

Mojomummy · 22/08/2005 19:39

Hi Sunnyside, yes miscarriage association were excellent. Spoke to a nice kind lady, not at all patronising & had a little cry to her. I kept asking the same question in different ways & she was very patient.

I was/am wondering if it was to do with stress as in my 5th week I was very stressed, I could feel it buzzing around my body & I read somewhere that it can just be too much....she said maybe, you never know...age of course is the other thing - I'm 36.5.

I'm feeling positive because there is hope (I think) for another pregnancy & if not I've got a lovely DH & DD - I read some stories & I thank my lucky stars

maddyd · 22/08/2005 19:14

streak

maddyd · 22/08/2005 19:12

Holiday??? whos offering. Im in deperate need. Dp says we can go abroad last min at begining of school hols but i said no. Weve just cleared all our credit cards and i dont want them getting again. We will spend a fortune on day trips instead. Went to Hayling Island yesterday and we had the best day. The toddlers loved the sea especially ds. he stripped offf and was straight in there. he then continued to strak across the beach shouting hiya to all and sundry. Bless him, he does make us laugh.

(thing is, i felt guilty as he had no clothes on, where have the days gone when it was perfectly innocent for there to be naked kids on the beach)

Good Luck Lunar, i do so hope you get refferred. Fingers crossed xxxxxxx At least you have movement on that front which is good.

Diddle · 22/08/2005 15:11

lunarsea - sounds positive, i hope all goes well tomorrow for you, please let us know how you get on, you'll be in my thoughts.

Xena - good to see you on here again, hope you're doing ok.

Lottielou - glad your back, you made me grin. Thanks matey. Hope they're not working you too hard, You're not tired with another hangover and late night are you
Sounds like AF is messing you around a lot. Mine was 42 days last month, my hopes were so high. I hope she appears on time this month, the wait is horrible isn't it.
Maybe all the stress you're going through is causing it to be so irregular, they do say it can effect it.
You need a holiday.

Xena · 22/08/2005 14:25

Hey Lottielou how you doing? I'm despretly trying to lose abit of weight and get abit fitter, joined the gym and trying to swim 20 lengths aday (only managed 10 aday in the last 3 days though)

Lottielou · 22/08/2005 14:12

Cori - Sorry bout your BFN hun x

Lottielou · 22/08/2005 14:11

Good Afternoon Ladies!
How are you all today?
Diddle - Sorry your feeling a bit down huni! Try thinking of chickens wearing little scarfs n bobble hats eating ice creams in a hot tub! Oh dear.... I'm back!!! Hee Hee!
Having a crappy day at work, so tired!
My AF is all over the place, i dont know where i'm at anymore. Last month my cycle was 34 days, the month before was 45, i'm now on CD 28, havent' had any sign of AF comin but it could be another 2 weeks yet! My body is all over the shop! Arghhhhhh
xx

LunarSea · 22/08/2005 14:09

Am hopeful at the moment that things might finally be looking up.

I was talking to the mum of one of ds's nursery friends on Saturday at a birthday party. I don't know her that well, but she happens to be a GP (though not in my area) - I knew here dh was, but didn't realise that she was too. She asked if we had/were planning any more, and I said I'd love too but it didn't look like it was going to happen. She was really shocked at us still being refused a referral or even any investigations after trying for so long (just ds to show for it, and it's almost 9 years since we started trying), so I'd hope it's a good sign that the new GP's (where I have an "interview" tomorrow) may feel the same and be a bit more helpful.

And finally seem to be getting a cycle where temp chart/OPK/ferning test/CM all agree with each other, and DH in co-operative mood at the right time too, so even if nothing happens this month at least things seem to be improving slightly on that front.

Diddle · 22/08/2005 13:59

yes it is disheartening Cori - sorry about yor BFN, you're right though, there is still hope.

OP posts:
cori · 22/08/2005 13:39

Well did a test, BFN.
A/F isnt due til Thursday so there is still some hope.
Diddle, sorry your not feeling too good today.
Reading through some other posts, I didnt realise you had been trying for 5 months. It is so disheartening isnt it? Especially when you got pregnant so quickly in the past. DS only took two months.

Diddle · 22/08/2005 12:57

Bit down today, started having a few achy feelins in my abdomen, think AF must be getting ready to appear.
I have also popped the buttons on two pairs of trousers, i'm getting a bit podgy, must do more exercise and eat less biscuits. But i can't avoid them.
My belly seems to be sticking forward since i was pg, and putting more pressure on my trouser buttons. So i have resorted to wearing my maternity trousers that i never got to wear when i was pg. They came the day after i m/c.
