So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

Barrenbrook sorry I didn't say hello to you when waving to our other grads, I never even saw your post!! Good to see you again too pal. Its nice that everyone checks in to see how we're doing. A few of us are on Facebook too so let us know if any of the grads, or anyone else, wants to keep in touch that way.

WYG keep your pecker up. A few lovely ladies have bumped you off the bottom spot over the last few days so you're moving up the list a little.

Littlemiss hope you're doing ok today. The things that remind you what should have been are so hard and can cause a setback when you're cruising along. Sending a hug your way x

WestYorkshireGirl · 25/04/2010 16:52

Alba that's great news! I made some choc brownies and am sending one through to celebrate.

NBelle I agree - any part of the baking process is zero calories.

Hope everyone has nice weekend.

I am a bit demoralised at the bottom of the list, but hopefully the days will go by quickly!

barrenbrook · 25/04/2010 16:15

Woop woop Albaduffedtamble splendid news indeedy!

Right, who's next????!

littlemiss72 · 25/04/2010 16:10

Yay Yay Yay ALBA wonderful news hunni heres to healthy 9 months. x

Nice to see some positive news on here, things are looking up girls woohoo!

Moo dito, fingers crossed for next month for you I'm sure your time will come as will mine we just have to be positive.

Very sad moment today, watched the London marathon earlier in town. I pulled out this year when I fell pregnant, I was quite emotional as I should have not been running and 5 months gone..

Hey ho, happy Sunday all x

LadyBee · 25/04/2010 16:09

Hi everyone, am back from my lovely week beside the sea - instead of a lovely week in Spain (curse you oh ash-filled volcano!!) Feeling refreshed and relatively sane and even a little excited at the idea that my body might be starting to head into normality again.

I did another pg test last Saturday, which would have been about 10 days after the ERPC, and it was -ve. I did plan to start temping again but my waking times were all over the show while on holiday I gave up - will maybe get back into it now I'm back and will be setting an alarm for work (boo hiss).

Have been throwing myself into wine and cheese heaven, but I guess I'll need to start on a more sensible diet if I'm to go back onto Metformin - it doesn't like a high-fat diet .

I spent some time yesterday reading through the last week's posts - so much has gone on sorry I can't remember it all. But some really big news

Gi1da and Alba - Woohoo!!!! congratulations!!! I'm chuffed for you both. Well and truly.

Muser well done on reaching the last month of your wait. It won't be long now before you're missing the freedom of not worrying about symptom spotting etc

dorcas111 I'm really sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I had a MC before having my first - it was really early, but I found it much more devastating than this latest miscarriage which was a lot later into the whole thing. I literally howled with rage and pain and felt in despair for a long long time. I'm sorry you're going through this. Enjoy your holiday!

prettyvacant, can't believe you're getting whacked again with the crapola stick. Hang in there lady.

hello lucysnowe, see above - I'm another PCOS lady and went on metformin to conceive DS, and my latest pregnancy. I'll be starting back on it this week in an effort to get ovulation on track asap.

Freezing, plan to cut back wait to 2 months sounds sensible if you're worried about needing to switch meds. Sounds like you had some down times last week, hope you're feeling a little more positive now.

digitalgirl I'm not sure whether to hope you find something through the referral or not, but am pleased you're getting proper (if slightly confusing) attention.

cheepz am dead impressed with your exercise discipline. I have none. Where do I get it??

Margie32, I'm so sorry for your loss. I find it impossible to imagine how it feels to lose a baby so late. I know there are others here who have experienced it though and hope you will find the support you need.

lindalinda it's really early days to be making decisions about whether or when to start ttc-ing again. I know you probably feel very conscious of time passing, but really a bit longer won't make any difference at all. Take care of yourself and go easy, won't you?

aly323, sounds like a rough ride - must have been fairly dramatic to get diagnosed with gestational diabetes so early.

So I have one small worry that's nagging away at me. I returned home to find a letter from my GP saying he'd received a letter from the hospital who did the ERPC and asking me to make an appointment to see him. Is this normal??
When they did the ERPC they asked my permission to analyse the tissues (sorry ), and I'm worried they've found something wrong. But maybe it's just a standard 'checking you're ok' appointment. Of course actually getting an appointment with my GP will take forever with their stupid booking system so will have to fret on for a little while longer.

clareanna · 25/04/2010 15:45

upduffy yikes- didn't know about bleeding scare- poor you that must have been so scary. I had bleeds with ds at 6 and 9 weeks and all was ok. Keep thinking positive x

brook sorry missed waving at you too - how goes it?

gi1da fanks- it was either that or have to lose a really good friend.

Lucy agree with moo about agnus castus- helped me regulate when I came off the pill

Big chicken v successful (thank you mr Oliver) now just taking a few moments to myself before heading back to all the rellies fighting over the tv in the drawing room... Raining here...

Unbuffy · 25/04/2010 14:21

Hi Clare yes all is well here despite bleeding scare earlier in the week - had scan and all well though. Sickness better since drinking lucozade and avoiding bread (makes me feel bloaty therefore sick).

Feeling very sympathetic towards moof and others still suffering rtd. Let spring get on with its springing and give everyone nice big bellies, I say!

Looking forward to seeing Gi1 (and others!!) on t'other side - grit yer teeth and come on over, gal! Need some ranty company...

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 25/04/2010 13:46

Alba that is bloody fantastic news! Magic 8 ball was right about waiting! Big smiles!!!! xx

Sorry it wasn't your month Moo - fingers crossed it will be our turn soon!

Sorry not been back to namecheck everyone (as I promised ) been busy with work and home stuff - will try to be more attentive this week!!! Big hello to everyone and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend xx

Moofold · 25/04/2010 13:35

Crossed posts Clare - a wee bit bummed out but could feel it coming a mile off so no big shock. I knew from about 3DPO it hadn't happened. This makes me wonder though about last month where I had sore boobs (only experienced before when pg), a senstive sense of smell, those familiar aches inside followed by a horrendously heavy RTD. Maybe I had a chemical pg then?

Away back to tend to your chicken. We're having some lamb later, mmmhhh..

Moofold · 25/04/2010 13:31

Hey, congrats Alba - you knew that BFP was coming didn't you!!! Here's hoping everything works out with this little bean, you deserve it. Take very good care of you both x

Good to see Unbuffy and Gi1da doing so well and popping in to see us.

Lucy hang on in there with your horrible cycle - I know that feeling though that it will never end. I started taking Agnus Castus supplements and cycles have definitely settled down.

It is good having some normalcy back but there's a small part of me wondering if everything is ok. That's 2 attempts getting it spot on in terms of timing and effort if you know what I mean. Hopefully next month will be third time lucky.

Passing round some Irn Bru and sausage rolls from Greggs for MrsPrettyG and Muser

clareanna · 25/04/2010 13:24

Moo - here's to next month mate - hope you're not too down

Alba - amazingly fab - well done for hanging on and not testing earlier - far more satisfying to get a big fat definite BFP!

waves to unbuffy> how are you keeping? still pukey? what news?!

independent midwives - hmmm, I went to prenatal yoga run by one, and she was totally lovely. When I went back after my DS was born and told my birth story, she was very disdainful of the fact I had to have an epidural (prepped for possible c-section) and was adamant that next time I wouldn't need a c section. I shan't go into all the details as it's lunchtime, but her having said that, after hearing that I had shoulder dystosia with DS left me feeling rather scared of her!

now, I must go back to tending my big chicken.
have a lovely weekend all!

Gi1da · 25/04/2010 13:19

Hoorah for Alba-Diff-Tamble!! Absolutely delighted for you. I knew it when you said the other day your coffee tasted off

Waves to Upduffy glad everything is ticketyboo with you

Muser and MrsPretty very quiet hellos to you gals - hope you had fab Saturday nights!

Moo sorry Ol' Rusty got you. Hope the spring vibes are lucky for you this month.

Clarea bless you for being so lovely about your friend's little one to be. Inspirational.

Well wishes to all x

lucysnowe · 25/04/2010 13:03

Congrats Alba and hello all! Sun has started shining again after rain today.

Moofold sorry to hear about RTD getting you, I suppose that confirms what you said about cycle getting on track tho so good luck for next time. 68 days tho... the think is I haven't been keeping track this month but I think it's been at least seven weeks and counting... so actually for those statting you might as well leave me off for a while! Thanks for adding me though.

PrettyVacant1 · 25/04/2010 12:52

Hello!
Very quick before craptop dies again!
3rd time tried to post!

Yeah Alba
Made up for you!

I'm also hungover.

Unbuffy · 25/04/2010 12:03

Hello hello,

Just drifting by dropping in to say Hi, have been keeping an eye on you and congratulations ALBA! Woohoo! And if I've missed any bfp's this week, more woohoos! There's been so many recently - Spring has clearly Sprung... Christmas babies rock btw, dd was a New Year's Eve baby - one set of presents/wrapping paper/ etc and big parties, plus the option of summer party as well!

Bestest to Pretty Mrs Vacant G, hope it all gets sorted soon,

Also cheepz do I gather there is now a thread beaver as a pet?! You go lady!

Manic waves to everyone else,

x

Muser · 25/04/2010 11:48

Yay! Wonderful news Alba. I'm a bit hungover so I shall toast you with tea. Here's to a healthy, uneventful 9 months!

AlbaDeTamble · 25/04/2010 11:42

Really sure this month -- it wasn't first pee of the day, and it was a CB and it was very definite very quickly.

BFP

Cakes all round.

Refuse to get anxious just yet, am enjoying the nausea, exhaustion and coffee aversion for now.

Just to check, anything you taste or lick off the bowl while baking is actually zero calories isn't it?

BunnyBaby · 24/04/2010 21:18

barrenbrook hello, lovely to see you!

pollyanna I've heard that chemical pregnancies can make the next cycle shorter and I think I experienced that myself a while ago.

independentmidwifes by all means trust your instincts BUT I used an IM and he arrived 18 days late following induction. She urged me to wait, despite carrying out a sweep at 7 days late, where she asked me to lift hips and he turned posterior. As a result he could not get low enough in my pelvis to trigger labour without inducement.

One of my best friends is a NHS midwife elsewhere in the country and said I was very lucky not to lose him. Especially after a 72 hour labour (that's posterior for you) I would never ever delay again, especially given posterior presentation. However, I trusted her and she was a bit naive.

Anyway, DS1 perfectly healthy, but don't forget NHS midwife does several births a week. Independent may only do a few a year, and NHS get to deal with things at their most extreme. She told me several stories about well meaning IM's but they're not really for retelling. Anyways, agree it's good to not let NHS dictate, but I should have listened at the point of 14 days overdue and didn't, but was very lucky.

WestYorkshireGirl · 24/04/2010 18:42

bunderthebonnett Am glad that are a few of us radicals out there going for independent midwives and challenging the system. I don't think the local mf knew what to make of me when I turned up for my booking in appt with my notebook, questions and refused all tests etc. I was quite open about the fact that I was simply registering with her to get the bloods done and anything else that I wanted from the NHS and then use my ind mf. I secretly liked being a rebel!

Hope you have all enjoyed the nice day - I went to a spa in the centre of Leeds for a whole day of pampering and relaxation. You would never have guessed I was in the middle of a city!
