So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

I'm sorry I didn't get online over the weekend.

Urd - I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Thinking of you and your family at this time.

Cheepz - I don't have the words to express it properly, can't believe how unfair it is, utter pants. I hope the next few days/weeks go ok and will be thinking of you.

Alba - so sorry about your news, it's sad. I think you have the right idea to book something in to look forward to, you are a brave and strong lady.

Ummmm, want to cry but I'm at my desk!! Might pretend I'm crying because it's nearly quarter end.

MrsG - I haven't read your other thread but I'm already feeling outraged so I might just hold back until lunchtime and then stomp around the office loudly on your behalf. I realise my office is probably not near yours and so probably won't have much effect, but by god I can stomp good and loud.

I agree with Littlemiss about the group hug. I realise I said that would be a Friday tradition and then I didn't come online on Friday and insist on it. So it's to be a Monday super group hug, and we're putting Urd, Cheepz, Alba, and anyone else who's having a hard time in the middle, and now we all shuffle round and hug it out. But gently because we don't want to squeeze too hard.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope this is right but as only changing one thing at the very bottom shurely I can't bugger it up that much??!

Waves to everyone, hope Monday gets better

Hugs to Cheepz

Morning all.

Thanks Mrs G - you are a lovely bunch!
Cheepz - take good care of yourself.
Unbuffy - big congratulations.
littlemiss72 - the significant dates are tough, but a holiday is such a good thing to look forward to. I keep putting off booking something in case we need to go for some fertility assistance and it costs a fortune. But, boy, do I feel like I need some sun.

Waves to everyone else and sorry for not namechecking all.

Thought I'd take it upon myself to attempt The List. Will try not to muck it up! Unbuffy, I've moved you to grads but wasn't sure what date to put for BFP so you can change that.

Happy day to all xx

Monring all, back to Monday all over again!

Sorry to hear we are all on a down at the moment, it's always so when things happen like this however we do have each other to support (((((GROUP HUG)))))

cheepz dito on the advice, go in anyway, no harm in that. Take care of yourself and spend spend spend!

We booked our summer holiday online last night, 3 weeks in August. I was fine until I realised it would have been aroun the time I had my baby - had I not have had a mmc in Feb.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. In the tww stage now although no signs as of yet..

WYG go for it woman!

Happy Monday all x

randomimposter · 29/03/2010 09:01

cheepz I think you should always trust your instincts.... but in terms of procedure/protocol suspect it varies from area to area. Because there was/is such a waiting list for ERPC in my area at the moment, think they were keen to re-scan me so that if surgery unnecessary they could free up the slot.

So I had cramps for a few hours before the bleeding started, bled very very heavily for 5 hours (Thursday), and then it was just like a heavy period for 5 days, then a lighter one for another 5. Was re-scanned on the Monday, ERPC would have been the Tues.

If you think you've lost the bulk of what's there (IYKWIM) maybe phone the EPU and ask what they would advise?

Enjoy your shopping, and make sure you spend BIG x

Wave to all. Off to look at some nurseries this morning for DS, only for one day a week, but will still feel strange .

Cheepz · 29/03/2010 08:35

has lightened up, so i think am going to need to go in Wednesday so they can see whats happening and decide if they need to do a procedure or not. Worth having them check - even if over the next 48 hours it seems to happen by itself. Its a relief that things are moving. Its abit in limbo the waiting. Having said that it did give me time to get over the initial shock which has been helpful

I am going shopping today for shoes, books, fancy face cream and some super big pads!

AlbaDeTamble · 29/03/2010 08:32

Hi all, cheepz hang in there, really the worst, sorry you're going through it all. As MrsG says, if it gets too much go in. Can be cathartic to do it naturally but it can go on a very long time.

Thanks all for kind words, but was so early it's really not more than disappointment of rtd arriving... However, it hasn't yet. Day 29 and still neg tests... WTF cycle was only 24 days... I haven't been this late for many years.... and a bit frustrated. But I guess this is not so unusual, just need to sit tight and wait to see what happens...

unbuffy so glad you got a proper bfp . nice to read happy news on a Monday morning

waves to all

MrsGazebo · 29/03/2010 00:24

Cheepz Go in.

Sorry, that's wrong of me.
I can't tell you what to do but it may take a while and may not be pleasant to experience over a more prolonged period of time.

Cheepz · 29/03/2010 00:07

jolls and yes - Ted has been spending extra time 'in my house' which has been a great comfort. xx thanks for remembering made me

Cheepz · 28/03/2010 23:47

jolls thanks, have started bleeding heavily - i know you did too last month waiting for ERPC - how long did it last? the really heavy bleeding, and did you have to have a checkup to make sure all gone? not sure what to do if it seems like it has all happened naturally - which i would prefer.

MrsGazebo · 28/03/2010 23:42

Ikkle Doogie Howser all growded upded.
Bless 'im.
Don't forget Nathan Fillion Clareanna
Mmmmm...

Good isn't it.
We haven't D.L'd all 3 episodes at all and I would never recommend doing so.

WYG good luck

Jolls you obviously didn't work for the same company as me then.
Don't want to rant on here
< mumble, mumble>

randomimposter · 28/03/2010 22:03

Urd so sorry, what a terrible shock. I have lost both parents, Mum at 58 from cancer, Dad at a good old age of 84 (21 years apart, he wasn't a cradle snatcher...). Neither a "shock" as such, but all losses are awful to deal with. Thinking at you at this most difficult time.

Unbuffy great news - the grads will look after you. Will pop in to say hi. Take care. And do pop back, our other recent BFPs seem to have disappeared

MrsG a million years ago (ok pre-DS) I managed retail HR functions (frankly all the law details were too complicated for my small fluffy brain, so I spent my time designing parties and coaching directors to be better managers), but anyway, will check out the other thread and if I can offer advice I will. Sorry to hear it.... it is the MOST disappointing thing when a business you love shits on your plate. For want of a better phrase...

cheepz SO good to hear from you. HUGE squeeze for you. I can imagine your DS (is it Ted, great name BTW) is an extra special comfort.. is he in "your house"? Was that the phrase?

Hi to all. Have had several LARGE glasses of SB tonight, sadly not Oyster Bay, that cheeky mare Barrenbrook has had it all...

WestYorkshireGirl · 28/03/2010 21:31

Unbuffy Great news! Sorry that other people aren't having a great time at the moment.

Thanks all for your advice re the spa visit. I think I will go, but will reserve final judgement till nearer the time.

Today I did my first un-romantic thing whilst TTC - I got the calendar out at tea time and told my DH when would be a good time to take me to bed! As he often works late (self -employed), I have booked him for Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sat for good luck! I will be amazed if we have all this bedroom action, but we both agreed that we had to go for it and he wanted to know the best time! So, ladies, wish me luck this week. If we succeed, we will never have had so much action in 1 week!!!!!! Oh and did I mention we have the builder in all week and will have no floor in the lounge? We live in a terrace so this will mean going round the side of the house to access the kitchen. I think it's going to be a busy week, but it's only 4 days long!!!

clareanna · 28/03/2010 21:05

Mrsg love it! Love neil patrick Harris!

VivClicquot · 28/03/2010 20:44

My breathing was what let me down. I was trying to channel Mrs Hollingsworth who was my choir leader when I was in primary school - she'd be ashamed of me!

I got just under 9000 points on Said it All, admittedly on the easy setting. I need to raise my game, quite frankly...

And don't even get me started on my pathetic attempt at Band Hero

Not that I'm saying that I can't sing, not that I have ever got top marks on lots of songs or anything.
I don't practice infront of just the cat anymore
No, Not me.

Well I've had a constructive day, had the craptop to myself as Sick Boy is too sick to argue for it.

VivClicquot · 28/03/2010 18:08

Oh Urd, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. You and your family must be devastated - I really hope you're all bearing up as well as you can be.

Cheepz - I've been thinking about you all weekend love. Really hope you're doing okay.

MrsG - what total fuckers. Can you counter-claim for unfair dismissal?

Re: spas. I'd be tempted to have a facial but would probably err against a massage and avoid the sauna and steam. We have a freelance masseur come into our office once a week, and during my first pregnancy (around 7 or 8 weeks), she refused to give me a back and shoulder massage, and also strongly advised me against reflexology during the first 12 weeks. She suggested that the way in which reflexology targets specific parts of the body means it could adversely affect the reproductive system, but I genuinely have no idea if there is any evidence to back this up.

Anyway, hope you're all enjoying the first day of summer. I'm shattered and mildly hungover after staying up til 2am celebrating my best mate's birthday playing Take That Singstar.

Love to all,
xxxx

Well rtd got me again on friday so now on cycle 12 and I have had enough.Dh has said we need to go back to the docs this month and start the ball rolling on the test front.

mrsg we sahll fight them on the beaches ... or wherever it is you work! as you say barstewards

i am ok today. have at least an 8 week wait for anything after wednesday and its actually abit of a relief.

MrsGazebo · 28/03/2010 12:15

Morning Peeps.

I've been having too many late nights and have missed catching up.

Urd Sweets, I'm deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.
You and your family are in my thoughts.
Hippy That was a beautiful, supportive thing to say. It touched me.

Alba So sorry to see your news, that is truly arse's
As we all know, a little trip away is the best bean making circumstance
Bring on the snow.

Cheepz As I said on t'other place I'm gutted for you, as Barren said my stomach hit the floor too.

BunnyBaby how is your poxed boy?

UpBuffs Fantastic !
We'll miss you and Brian.
He really was a jolly good sport at our quiz

Re Joss Whedon I found this
He self funded it during the writers strike.
I think he got fed up with Fox piling on the pressure.
Even though the git kills off everyone I grow to love I do think the mans a genius.

Well.
Hold on I'll pour the coffee/decaff
Are you sitting comfortably as this may be a longish one...
Cross your arms and fold your legs , fingers over lips (never did understand how with crossed arms)

I've had an interesting few days
Won't go into too much detail but if you see an AIBU thread about someone who has loved their Company for a very long time with great passion and is currently being unlawfully shafted and pushed out because of upcoming maternity and knowledge of MMC history apparent undocumented capabilities.
That'll be me!

On the plus side and it may be a bitter pill now but I got a letter from Sheffield to say that my levels have returned to normal!
It advised to still wait till I get another 8 weekly normal results and 2 fortnightly results before TTC again, which will be July/Aug
I have very little intention of following the advice and will be phoning them after 4 weeks of normal results to beg and plead for my baybee.

I'd do it now but MrG has a stonking cold and I know I've just Ov'd deep down I'm not that menkul and know we should see at least a couple of normal results
So about 4 weeks should be good

And I'll be staying put in work to fight this!

Barstewards!

I'm giving doe eyes to sick boy to make me my traditional Sunday bacon butty.
What!
Joking aside, he's really not good, he doesn't do man Flu so when I came in last night and he was on the sofa with my Slanket up to his ears I knew it was bad.
He's not going to the match later either
I still want my butty!

Unbuffy · 28/03/2010 10:33

So very sorry Urd. What a terrible shock for you and your family. I do hope you're being gentle with yourself for a while.

I do hope everybody else is having a reasonable weekend.

On a personal front, I've redone The Test and this time it's much less imaginary! So it's an official bfp and I think it's probably time to go onto the graduates list [petrified emoticon]. I won't totally disappear from here, will keep an eye on you girls obviously, but will be lurking a lot more as I try to get my head around this...

Thank you all so much for all your support and advice over the past few months. You've all been fabulous and I really hope we all end up on the grads list very very soon.

Here's a huge thank-you cake and and a case of wine I can't drink any more. Oh, and lots of tea...

xx
