So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

I think my maudlin started this afternoon when I was told that a girl at work (with whom I've had a couple of run-ins over the last week) has been telling all and sundry that, "as soon as she gets married in May, she's going to get pregnant right away and never come back" ... Oh to have that sort of optimism! I almost want to slap her for being so naive. Sigh. The worst thing of all is that I'm sat here quite bitterly thinking, "Yeah, knowing her luck, she probably will."

Alba - You can have the other beer in my room service fridge! Saves me opening both!

all went well, apart from all the waiting around, but not much bleeding and no pain so that was good - was more worried about never waking up from anaesthetic and never seeing DS again (morbid but I am deeply suspicious of hospitals!) anyway feels like a milestone, am going to start folic acid again tomorrow and reset monitor, even if not trying want to track the cycle anyway and see if I ovulate - although definitely want to wait a cycle. Having got pregnant straight after last mc have read some stuff and sometimes your endometrial linig is insufficiently robust to support a new preg straight after mc so don't want to risk it. I am ok with not having a 2010 baby - but would love to leave the year in some state of pregnancy!

feeling happy and optimistic about the future, the dr was lovely and i have a follow up appointment to schedule tests and talk about things in 6 - 8 weeks. I am going to see him and go to a private clinic - more the merrier I say! take the tests the nhs will do and use insurance to pay for the ones they wont!

glad its over, and in a wierd way was cathartic

Jules welcome, we all feel for you here. its a difficult time, but you will recover and try again

PS if I have one more sympathy text saying 'i just know it will happen for you soon' i will deck someone .. i mean i don't know that so how on earth can anyone else? i know it makes them feel better and maybe they think it will make me feel better but really not!! small rant, now over

love to all

WestYorkshireGirl · 31/03/2010 20:26

GLBear I too am known to get a bit weepy when I don't expect it. It's natural seeing your friend would upset you, but I hope know that the chocolate would help . Someone at work was all happy after their 20 week scan yesterday and I went away feeling a bit low and wishing it was me. She is going on maternity leave in July which is when I was due so was doing the whole 'if I was still pg I would be x weeks by now'. Anyway, a bit of rustling under the sheets later made me feel better .

Hi to Jules. Welcome and sorry you are with us, but this is a good thread for working through things. We have all been there and know exactly what you're going through.

AlbaDeTamble · 31/03/2010 20:24

Well, looks like it's a good evening to be grumpy. Welcome though sorry you're here Jules. Sorry you're stuck on your own feeling bad Viv... I'm on the train home after late one at work... Finally RTD got me today and is getting quite unpleasant, I guess only to be expected if it was a CP. Thankfully working from home tomorrow. Was so chilled and 'what will be will be' about it all till now, hadn't expected to be pg so soon so it had been a little brief excitement but no more, I thought. But I'm really sad and grumpy now. Maybe it's just hormones and it'll pass soon enough.

Do you have a spare beer Viv? Don't want you drinking too much, you may yet discover you hit the jackpot this month, I'm crossing my fingers for everyone at the top of the list. There's some been there a while... I wonder if there's happy news we just haven't been told yet ?

Anyway, enough rambling from me... Just finally, stay positive HappyGirl,
and Cheepz, I hope you're not feeling too dreadful either from the anaesthetic or the hormone rush. Thinking of you this evening. Hope your little one being gorgeous and helping you and your DH through it.

VivClicquot · 31/03/2010 20:05

Evenin' all, and hi jules - like everyone has said, I'm so sorry that you're here but very glad you've found us all the same xx

I'm stuck in a hotel room tonight as I'm working away from home. Have just been out for sushi, have the football on the telly and am contemplating a beer. During the journey from Manc to London, I convinced myself that I once more won't be pregnant and so am feeling quite maudlin... amazing what a couple of hours of solitude can do to one's spirit.

welcome Jules... sorry for your loss. It's truly rubbish, particularly your first (was this your first MC?). The great thing is this is one place you REALLY don't need to apologise about moaning or letting off steam. Hey it's what we're here for. And the teasing, sarcasm etc.

Signed DS up for nursery today - just one day a week. The plan had always been to have a day to do one-one things with #2, you know like swimming, music class etc etc. But there IS no #2, nor one on the way. . So I will have to do housework and chores and food shopping. Arsicles. Pants. Bowlarks.

Hope all well with everyone. Thinking of Cheepz particularly - hope all went well.

GLB and clareanna... I feel your angst. Have one of those catch-ups tomorrow.... MMMMM, can't wait!
x

JulesAbs · 31/03/2010 19:42

Hello thank you all so much for the welcomes. I have been reading through some of the back log and some of the other threads it really does help to hear people have similar experiences.

This will be the third month since i miscarried, I was pregnant before i even realised that was what i wanted. It didn't even cross my mind that the baby would leave, i had names picked out. Made me realise how naive i was to the difficulties that exist.

It's been tough and a bit harder of late because my sister in law is getting induced with her first child tomorrow. I feel like sometimes all i do is smile and nod and try not to cry.

Sorry for the depressing hello i really am usual an upbeat person and look forward to getting to know you all better.

Jules

clareanna · 31/03/2010 17:12

barrenbrook talk to me lady! What is this magic cream?! I currently have mini replicas of mount etna, Krakatoa and Vesuvius residing on my chin-
They are so large you can probably track them by GPS.
I always get a massive spot with my RTD (this time 3 of the beauties - lucky me). They are obviously hormonal, as were ok when I was on the pill - any advice/ info gratefully received

clareanna · 31/03/2010 16:18

cheepz thinking of you today- hope you are in and out quickly and you get lots of hugs x

GLBear went out with my nct friends last night, 2 have dc2s, one just started mat leave. Drank through the 'fun' of listening to them complaining about how tough it is with 2 children! I hope one day to be able to complain too!

jules welcome to the thread, and sorry for your loss, this thread has been a lifeline for me and
hope it is some support for you too.

symptom spotters anonymous (you know who you are) nothing like a bit of boob squeezing in public I say! Love viv's explanation of it- ignorance coupled with the feeling of endless possibilities - remind me of that in 28 days time when it's my turn again!

HappyGirl1 · 31/03/2010 14:05

Jules so sorry to see that you have found yourself here.. really hope you are getting all the support you need at home. the ladies on this thread are just awsome, absolutely awsome and just fantastic when you are having bad (and good obviously too) days.

Me, well I'm still a nervous wreck, don't get me wrong I'm thankful but I'm a nervous wreck. Still got 7 days to go before I'm at where I was last time. I'm boob checking constantly like every few minutes and I'm sure someone caught me in work just to make sure they are still sore.

Think I might get some pregnacare too just to give me an extra boost. Obv been taking folic acid but agree pregnacare would help too.

Cheepz hope all goes well today - thinking of you.

Okay well best go get some water and hope to get the afternoon

littlemiss72 · 31/03/2010 13:33

Hi girls, afternoon check in from me to you! Anything is better than working

Why the heck do I keep boobie checking.. absolutely no point in it as they are not sore! I'm driving myself a little nuts here.

Welcome Jules sorry you have found yourself here hunni however we are a lovely supportive bunch.

Bear loving the chocolate theory..seeing as it's Easter I'll be joining you!

Goodluckbear · 31/03/2010 12:45

Thanks Bunny!!

I like it when people say "you'll have one soon" (i.e. no "if you have one" - rather "when").

Hope spotting stops soon.

I'm going to get chocolate. I think it's rich in iron, that is probably good if you are washed out from spotting, perhaps your iron levels are low.

Or in other words: iron levels low = you need chocolate.

I will bring some back for you.

xxxxxxxx

BunnyBaby · 31/03/2010 12:00

clareanna good to hear you're on the pregnacare, there's almost too much choice.

cheepz my thoughts are with you today.

barrenbrook, vivcliquot, littlemiss1972 how exciting and fingers crossed for the symptoms. Not long to go!

goodluckbear stop all negativity now (in a friendly buggy way). I always have pmt symptoms when pregnant followed by no period and BFP. Though understand how difficult it is meeting pregnant friends without your bump. Though you will have one soon.

Me, I'm busy avoiding post-natal friends as many are pregnant or already have number 2's so it's a bit much. Oh well, at least you have DS1 is a common bleat. Yes I'm eternally grateful for that, but it doesn't make it any easier to handle the fact I lost my 2nd son. I know I'm being a wuss, and need to pull it together. Just not ready yet.

Hoping, hoping spotting stops before Friday as I feel washed out from this weekends blood loss, and that doesn't help mood etc.

Speak later xxx

Oh my gosh, last time i logged onto this site it was all happy news, and i am so sorry to see (wont name check) so much sadness for everyone. I hope that everything starts improving for all soon.
I am really cross with myself, I bought some Ovulation sticks at the weekend.. it was £20 for 5 or £30 for 20 - so I went for the £30 pack as it seemed sensible - but you have to use them within a month or they go "off" - who ever heard such rubbish!! Who would test straight after to see if they are ovulating?! Ive been had.
And I also think I have missed our window this month for SWI as I was a grumpy cow last night and DH is away tonight... and its left him upset too as he knew it was a good time and now he is disappointed too. I feel like such a cow. And no 2010 baby for me either now.

That said I will jump him tomorrow night when he gets through the door just in case!!

Goodluckbear · 31/03/2010 10:46

Hi JulesAbs - welcome. I will let someone better at list-maintenance add you as I am afraid to mess it up!!

I met my mate last night (the one who is same number of weeks pregnant as I would've been) - she has a really nice bump and looked really well. So I started crying. Nice. Also doesn't help that I've got PMT type very mild cramps. I was thinking - well, it's a week before my period so maybe that's a good sign! And then I checked my diary. Last month, in order to stop myself symptom spotting every month, I wrote down how I felt everyday so I would know how I feel in a normal cycle. And at the same point in my last cycle I had written "mild PMT type cramps". So it's just another normal cycle. I am so fed up of this, I really wanted a 2010 baby, I have no explanation for why.

God I'm a right moaning mini today!!

Morning all

Will be thinking of you lots today, Cheepz honey - hope all goes well and sending you lots of love x

CD25 for me too and still no symptoms. No cramps. No backache. No nothing. (Although I'm really trying hard to ignore the tiny voice in my head who keeps reminding me of the spotting I had between 3/4 and 5/6 dpo - that way only disappointment shall lie!)

I think I've learnt to love these few days in the run up to or testing. It's a brief but wonderful period of blissful ignorance where anything still feels possible. It's getting to the point where I don't want to test for fear of breaking my zen-like calm.

OP posts:
littlemiss72 · 31/03/2010 09:02

Morning all, hope your all doing ok despite the miserable weather! CV polished off and sent woohoo!

Cheepz hope today goes ok for you, good to hear you being positive about it all hunni. Thinking of you today.

Late night last night.. bowling woke up this morning with a terrible thirst so know I've had way too much to drink! I'm sure someone will fill in the blanks later..

Working from home.. sod going out in that weather feeling the way I do this morning no symptoms at all for me, would normally have sore boobies by now but even that hasn't happened this month. I have a feeling things are not in synch the painful ov pains earlier this month could be a sign of something else.

Test results last Friday came back all clear so no infection however smear test pending

Happy Wednesday all. x

barrenbrook · 31/03/2010 05:46

morning all, apologies for my absence.
cheepz honey, hope today goes ok for you. Thinking of you, you sound like you are very upbeat about it all. I too raise my hat to you. Incidentally, when i typed your name on my phone it came out as cheery!

urd so sorry to hear about your Dad lovely, hope you are ok. I lost mine at the not so ripe age of 65, one week he had a bad back, 6 weeks later we were at his funeral. That was 3 1/2 years ago now. I totally agree with hippy that the desperate, empty feeling passes. The old cliche of time being a great healer is so very true. Thinking of you x

Hello to everyone else, sorry for hogging all the OB!

cd25 for me and no sign of anything apart from a few very mild cramps. Accupuncture lady got me on the progesterone cream this month which I think has something to do with lack of RTD symptoms, suits me though! No break out, no bloating, no sore tits so I don't have to hold them while I am out running. Splendid!

Right, i fear I may have gone on for a little too long and have pissed many a commuter off on the train with my phone button clicking! Have a good day ladies x

clareanna · 30/03/2010 22:40

Slimyak - it's my b'day on friday- understand how you're feeling x

Cheepz · 30/03/2010 21:47

just oredered kotex on amazon!!! along with cbfm sticks and 50 cheapies - it was cheaper to buy 50 than 25! and under a fiver!!!!

clareanna know what you mean about hiding the cbfm - its a real passion killer 'hey honey we got a peak' doesn't cut it for my dh either

randomimposter · 30/03/2010 21:38

Cheepzy I raise my hat (and indeed all the hats in the house) to you. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Much love xx

Hope everyone else doing ok wherever you are physically and emotionally.

WestYorkshireGirl · 30/03/2010 20:19

Goodluckbear I'm with you on the wine and choccie mousse! I treated myself to a nice wine at the weekend and it was lovely.

Cheepz I am glad you are experiencing the restorative powers of shopping, My 2 Ebay purchases arrived today - one is a lovely red jacket I got for £2.80! I had to get it when I bought a red spotty handbag - I love to justify other new items when I buy something else - you do need to be coordinated is what I tell myself! Oh and thanks for reminding us all of what we do have rather than what we all want and can't have right now.

Happygirl I loved your ref to 'having a good run at it' which made me sound like we were climbing a mountain not making a baby! Although right now I would def say the latter is the hardest! Am feeling much better tonight and poised for action once I've made by sarnies!
