So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

Morning everyone

Think the bloody bastard RTD is on its way. Am dreadfully upset - the whole 'last chance to have a 2010 baby' thing is weighing heavily on my mind. Plus I'm just SO frustrated as I know we're doing everything right, so can't understand why it's not working. Am just so . Happy fucking Easter.

Apologies to Harry as this isn't quite the cake and wine welcome it should be. I'm so sorry you're here, but glad you've found us. I promise I'm not normally this miserable.

jules hope today goes okay for you. Look after yourself honey. x

Am off to gorge myself on chocolate and mojitos. Sod the wine; it's time to crack open the hard stuff.

Lots of love xxx

Hello everyone. I can't begin to catch up I'll need days. I'm going to write this then settle down for a long read when DS is asleep.

I'm skulking back over to this thread after going AWOL for a while. I think I've been trying to forget about my miscarriage and all things to do with ttc.

So I'm due on on 7th, I've had two cycles now since my miscarriage. This month we started trying again. I was immediately convinced I was pregnant as have had very sore tits since oving and been feeling a bit pg. I tested using a first response test today and it was neg. I was totally convinced it would be otherwise.

Anyway, must go. I have to finish an argument with my nob end husband.

barrenbrook · 02/04/2010 09:39

Morning girls,

Harry Hello honey so sorry to hear of your loss chicken, I hope you are OK. As the others have said there's no right or wrong time to try again, do it when you are ready. I had a CP last month and we tried again right afterwards, awaiting the impending RTD at the moment, it's due today..... no sign as yet though . The first three months after m/c you are more fertile apparently. Glad you have found your way here, feel free to rant at will when you need to

JulesAbs Hope today isn't too sad for you. My sister in law had her baby last month, her due date was the day I miscarried and it took me a week to pluck up the courage to go over and see her and the baby. Be kind to yourself and be selfish if you have to, people will understand.

Cheepz How lush does your DH sound!? What a sweetie. Enjoy Westfield you crazy lady, rather you than me! Buy something nice!

Hello to everyone else!

JulesAbs · 02/04/2010 09:17

Morning all.

My sister in law is in labour today, I am looking forward to being an Auntie but it makes me feel a bit more sad than usual, I should have been 20 weeks if everything had worked out.

Red - House hunting is so stressful! Hopefully the perfect house will just come on the market for you.

Harry - Hello, sorry you have found yourself here, I haven't been here that long myself but i am already finding all the kind ladies here are helping me through it all. I gave myself a couple of months before we started trying again i wanted to feel healthy and ready to carry a baby again (fingers crossed it will happen soon)

Cheepz - I'm sorry for your loss. I know what you mean I have already been getting my self stressed about how i will be when i find out i am pregnant again. Don't think i will be able to relax and just enjoy the experience until i find out everything is going well.

littlemiss Fingers crossed for next month.

littlemiss72 · 02/04/2010 08:17

Morning all, updated the list.

Kaylo added you to the bottom, let me know the rest of your stats and I'll be happy to update them for you.

Only a couple of day until RTD had some cramping yesterday evening but that's about it on the signs front.. nothing to report. I think I'll be heading back to the bottom of the list shortly.

Harry - poor you. I found my way here when I was miscarrying last month. I've been up and down since then, so expect to have bad days but don't beat yourself up about it. It's just tough, that's all there is to it.

As for trying again... I'm not sure there's a 'right' answer. Everyone seems to do it a bit differently. Personally, I'm going to wait til I get my next period and see what it's like/how long it takes to arrive and then have a think. I'm kind of champing at the bit to just be pregnant again, to kind of reverse what's happened, but I get the impression that if you wait a couple of cycles you increase the chances of success. I think perhaps just because of hormones getting settled and the womb lining being properly thick... (someone else probably has more facts than me).

I think it's common to want to just get pregnant straight away but you might be as well just looking after yourself for a couple of months and getting your physical and emotional strength back, however hard it feels to wait.

That's kind of where I'm at at the moment.

Thinking of you, big hugs ((()))

Cheepz · 01/04/2010 23:30

evenin ladies

today my DH sent me flowers, with a card that had a simple and lovely message about how it will all come good for us, he never gets me flowers so it made me blub, like I said - I am lucky!!

bleeding is surprisingly light, kicked off CBFM just so can track things - last 2 mcs had pretty normal cycles after (4 week, CD15 ovulation) so will be interesting to see what happens this time although defo waiting a full cycle - i feel like i need to emotionally this time

this is abit wierd but i woke up this morning and i was relieved not to be pregnant... of course i am not relieved to have lost the baby, but i was finding being pregnant so stressful and every day - every trip to the loo was so fraught with anxiety I was having a really shit time, and today I woke up and I didn't have to worry about any of that and it was a massive relief, don't know if that makes sense but i guess after 2 previous mcs its not surprising i was anxious and to not have to worry for a month is going to do me good i think

on the throwing and shouting - i could, and say how not fair it is ... but it doesn't make me feel any better, actually it makes me feel worse. I will try and post when i am next in a pessimistic state, or wait until DH irritates the crap out of me

now there was lots to catch up on so.....

harry welcome and sorry - I tried right away after first mc at 6 weeks but it took 6 cycles to get pg, then had mc at 4 weeks and got pg next cycle, which just mc at 10 weeks so you can try as soon as you are ready.

red sounds like you had a shocker of a week, mc is a horrible enough thing to deal with but the house stress is something else - ours is on the market at the moment and keeping it viewing ready is a fucking nightmare, having a sale fall through is about the most irritating and stressful thing after a mc so feeling fo you at the mo. xx

clare and slimy happy birthday ladies, kick back and enjoy and i hope you get spoiled rotten

viv i too am allergic to cats, and they love taunting me with their itchy cat dander which gets in my eyes and throat and stops me breathing - ironicallly developed the allergy when pg with DS ands ince then it has nver cleared up

under respect for your decision, its a biggie but I think you know when its the right time to call it quits for you, there is only so long you can put your life, relationships, and self through the whole TTC circus

barren viv and zayja abit excited to have you close to top of list (although I think we need the awol list back to make it clearer who is coming up to test as seems we have some awol candidates at the top - eeeek my OCD tendencies on the list are back) BTW where the hell is Zayja? not seen a post in ages , not hopefully for that matter....

alba hope you are doing ok, its hard when its over before it even starts, there is a moment of possibility then the next month yawns ahead and it can be pretty demoralising - was for me in Jan but I was pg a month later (even though thats gone tits up - it doesn't for everyone!)

pollya don't know what to suggest in your situation - could go either way - the only thing you can be sure of is that testing early is the devils work and does no favours! as someone else has said could be CP as a positive is a positive but cramping and spotting at this stage not great

mrsG mothercare eh? bummer. not just the shop but watching all the pregnant ladies and ladies with new babies going in and out .. gah ... we were in mothercare on tuesday because its the nearest ELC and DS needed more paints, there was a glowing pregnant lady behind me in the queue looking happy and radient, I smiled and moved on in my zen like state and then ate a bar of green and blacks

righto, thats all i can do, bed and book - DH decided we are going to westfield tomorrow to take DS to cinema and then do some shopping - must be nuts - so much for putting feet up and resting post op, nooooo we are going to the biggest shopping centre in the UK on Good Friday - noce call DH, without those flowers you would be in the doghouse for that suggestion.

xxx HAPPY EASTER ALL ...cheepz out....

WestYorkshireGirl · 01/04/2010 22:34

Harry You are in the right place. I too found comfort joining threads as the mc was happening. Crying is a good thing and ranting on this thread. I waited for next RTD before TTC again - it took five weeks to arrive. I am now on my second cycle and making lots of effort! Some people decide to try straight away, but I didn't feel up to that and my body was all askew. I took Floaradix iron tablets to help pick me up again as I was very washed out after the mc. I also took a week off. You need to look after yourself physically and emotionally. I found the leaflets on the miscarriage association website helpful too.

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Harry2007 · 01/04/2010 21:53

...CBFM "thread" I meant to say x

Harry2007 · 01/04/2010 21:52

Good evening ladies,

Just wondering if I can join your thread, or perhaps lurk for a while before officially joining at least. I'm having a miscarriage at the moment - started Sunday evening, visit to epu Monday, couldn't see any sign of pregnancy on internal scan, miscarriage confirmed, feeling rubbish, back and fore to epu for hcg tests.

Anyway, after crying for what seemed like twelve hours solid on Monday night, I've amazed myself with how resolute and sensible I've been over the last couple of days. I'm looking at it from the positive aspect I.e. that it was early (6 weeks) and if there were chromosomal abnormalities etc. Now I'm just focussing on wanting to try again.

So what's your advice as to how long you should wait before ttc? I want to do it asap but I'd be grateful for your views.

Hi barrenbrook I think we were both on the CBFM for a while x

littlemiss72 · 01/04/2010 21:08

get it right woman!!

littlemiss72 · 01/04/2010 21:07

Sorry couldn't help it..lol

clareanna · 01/04/2010 20:58

red bad luck in the house- how frustrating, hope for good house karma coming your way. The week after my mc my dh was made redundant, so know how you're feeling - just one thing after another.

On another note ...
ooh bunnies !! (little things...)

Redheadgal · 01/04/2010 20:36

Thank you ladies for being so welcoming and cheers for the hot cross buns, birthday cake and fizz. Happy birthday to Clareanna and Slim, enjoy the celebrations this weekend.

Thanks also Alba for the permission to rant. Feel very ranty this evening . After all the misery of last week our house sale has fallen through. So we're back to square one without house or baby. It has been a truly terrible two weeks

barrenbrook · 01/04/2010 19:22

Clareanna & Slimyak Happy Birthdays! Have a lovely birthday weekend both of you.

Red welcome, so sorry to hear your sad news I hope you find some solace here with us

Pollyanna I had a CP last month and cramped for two days then started light bleeding then it turned heavy later the same day. Like Alba says, it's not over til it's over. FX.

Allthe8s · 01/04/2010 15:28

Ladies just popping in very briefly with some toasted buttered hot cross buns and say hi to everyone including all the newbies, sorry you are here ladies but you have come to the right place! Happy birthday to those celebrating over the weekend and fingers crossed for some BFPs over the holiday! Will be back at some point and promise to name check properly and all that jazz xx

VivClicquot · 01/04/2010 14:31

Wow lots of birthdays! Slim and Clare - I hope you both have wonderful days x

Loving the Easter / April Fool's Bunnies btw

OP posts:
clareanna · 01/04/2010 14:29

Hi all- managed an Easter glass of wine with lunch so am now pleasantly anaethetised for the hell that is the train on a bh weekend.

Viv - mainly consumer, but also some coorporate and professional. Am in house not agency side. Hotel was just off Oxford st as meetings all west end ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it- had nothing to do with thought of shopping opportunity sans pushchair and toddler!)

comedy moment of the day- forgetting to poas for new cbfm toy mid way through morning ablutions... I'm not proud of what happened next, but suffice to say I rescued the situation

red so sorry to hear your news- I also had an mmc at 12 weeks and that image on the scan still haunts me. It does slowly get easier but it is a tough journey- will be thinking of you.

WTF cycles seem to continue- despite all the literature, although cycle length is normal symptoms and length of RTD totally different still to pre mc- this rtd has gone on for 8 days now- argh!

Pollyanna- my thoughts are with you - fingers crossed.

My b'day tomorrow- so passing round large chocolate fudge cake and fizz to all! Heading to the coast for a few days will celebrate with fish n chips n champagne on the beach (in the snow)
happy birthday to you toooop slimyak!!!!

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 13:42

And happy birthday Slimyak and apols for no more namechecking than that -- I get too confused with so many posts to catch up on!

Oh, but finally - thanks for that beer last night Viv... lost signal so couldn't say at the time... what a pain the whole trip was for nothing. Hope the train back isn't quite so depressing for you

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 13:38

Polly -- nearly a week... but don't go overboard on the red wine just yet, you never know, you could still be pregnant... (slimyak's birthday booze sounds good though!) It's not over till it's definitely over. I did have all the signs for a few days (metallic taste and hyper sensitive sense of smell etc etc) and for the first time, felt like I 'just knew' I was pg. And DH could see the line too on that first test. Didn't last long though. Just knew when it was going wrong too

Red, sorry you've found yourself here. It's an awful time you're going through, impressed your first post is with smiles! Feel free to rant away too....

Not opening the easter eggs yet, or they'd all be gone in one go, but have some lovely little coffee choc cups if anyone wants one (full caff, especially for Cheepz!)

slimyak · 01/04/2010 13:24

Hey Red

Sorry you've found yourself here. It is awful to find out at the 12 week scan.. That's what happened to me last time and although I'd had 2 MCs before that, getting to the 12 weeks and having a scan is a milestone that I couldn't help feeling positive about. It felt like a big come down that I really wasn't expecting. It's early days for you yet so take care of yourself.

I lurked for a while too. I think sometimes lurking is good.

Anyway you're here now - welcome to the rollercoaster!

I'm handing out birthday booze and cake - enjoy!

Pollyanna · 01/04/2010 13:05

Thanks Alba, I did see your situation and wondered whether I was also going through a chemical pregnancy as I also tested positive and did have signs of pregnancy at that stage i think (well sore boobs anyway!).

I have had cramping for 5 days now, so can't really believe I am pg. I am never late though and don't think I have had spotting for 5 days before, but otoh I have never had a mc either, so everything is new for me.

I am also going to avoid early testing in future, particularly since I know I ov late in my cycle and even when I've had successful pregnancies I've only ever tested positive long after my period is due.

I just want bloody RTD to come now so that I can get back to normal (whatever that may be atm).

how many days of cramping did you have before RTD appeared? I am getting rather fed up of it now!

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 12:56

Hi Pollyanna - didn't want to leave your question unanswered... I got my faint bfp last tues, not sure dpo, but on usual cycle stats guessing it was about 10 or 11. A couple of days later had lots of cramping, but no RTD, tested on the Friday because I was convinced from cramps that RTD was about to arrive. BFN. Has carried on in the same way till yesterday (with a few more tests along the way), when at long last (and 5 days late when I'm never, ever more than 2 days late) RTD arrived. Somewhat heavy.

Did cling on to hope that bfn's were less sensitive tests, and therefore wrong, for a few days and hoped cramps were implantation -- this could well be the case for you and I'm crossing fingers that it is.

But if CP, I have read this can delay RTD arriving... often a late and heavy period is what happens after a chemical pregnancy that you may well not have known about if you hadn't tested very early. I've vowed not to buy any more super sensitive tests so I won't know if it happens again.

Redheadgal · 01/04/2010 11:56

Hello ladies. I've been lurking for a little while - was told I had mmc at 12 week scan a week last Monday and had erpc last Thursday. Although I'm still spotting I'm now feeling brave enough to join you all in the fun and games of ttc

My stats are (I reckon): TTC#1, UCL 28-30, cycle WTF, CD ??

p.s. cheers GoodLuckBear couldn't join until I'd figured out all the acronyms

slimyak · 01/04/2010 11:49

Polly sorry for the cross post, your question didn't need my cat ramblings.

I can't think that it's anything other than RTD just messing with you, sorry. Unless you're late and it could be implantation spotting? But I would have thought you'd get a BFP on a test.

I'm terrible for seeing a second line on tests, as in I can always see a faint one, I think I've burned one on my retina.

Hope you know either way v. soon.
