So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

xx

This is going to be a long one... Have been in poor headspace recently so thought I would stay off here being a grumpy miserable bastard with nothing positive to say. Having settled down to read all posts since Tuesday (with my large glass of wine) I have realised I would have been in good company! Why were we all so down at the same time? - Cheepz being the exception. Proud of you staying so positive, I'm sure that will be such a benefit for your next pg and hope you get the support you mentioned.

Jules, Redhead, Kalo & Harry - hello to you all. Sorry you're here and hope you are coping. I can honestly say that this wee thread has been a god send since my MMC discovered at 12 week scan. No one can understand this unless they have been through it themselves and being able to vent, give TMI or ask ludicrous questions without feeling bad or ridiculous really helps you heal. Sometimes the things I read from the other ladies are the thoughts in my own head and it keeps me going.

Slim & Clareanna - happy birthday! Hope you have/ had a good one with lots of delicious food and fine wines. The finest wines known to humanity!!

Zayja - congrats, sounds pretty definite to me. Really pleased for you after such a long wait - every best wish to you pal.

Barrenbrook I'm really excited for you!! I'm keeping everything crossed for you, again, someone that really deserves some good news and a very, very sticky bean. Looking forward to hearing your updates!

GLB totally empathise with your post about your mate. I'm in the same boat with 2 friends and 1 relative all due within one month of what was my due date. Also reacted to friend telling me she was pregnant by crying which didn't make her feel awkward at all... I think I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself because I feel that if I am not pregant by the 3rd of July I am really going to lose it. Hope your holiday is going well.

Viv & Clareanna - I was staying in London on Tues night too, down there for work but staying south of the river. We could have had a TTC after MC get together!Viv I am a nightmare at the moment left alone with my own thoughts so the 5 hour journey back up the road was dreadful. Couldn't read my book (travelsickness) and had forgotten ipod so spent the duration looking out of the window feeling dire about what should have been to the point where I was greetin in a public place. Am starting to get a grip now, honest.

Littlemiss I do agree with all those who said you should go for the job. You don't want to end up regretting not applying. That said, I had the same dilema in Sept and applied for an internal promotion which was a fair step up - after ages deliberating whether it was a good idea while TTC and worrying about impact of additonal stress if i did get pg. So I got pg in Oct, job interview in Nov, got the job then MMC the week before Christmas. Lots of guilt about whether I put work before TTC/ pg however, nothing to suggest that's what caused it. Not the only thing I get irrational guilt about either - maybe I MC because i drank coffee/ ran for the train that time/ didn't want it enough/ told too many people too soon/ got the swine flu jab/ took it for granted/ so on and so forth. I think to an extent we just need to accept what will be (wish I would take my own advice!) and believe there is very little we can do to stop things going wrong - unless you smoke crack or go on rollercoasters, etc. Go for it and good luck!

Mrs G - what's going on with your work? Are they treating you unfairly because of pg/ MC? I think I have missed posts explaining this - sorry you have this to contend with too.

Sorry for anyone I haven't mentioned. That will teach me for leaving it so long to check in - my memory is really being tested! Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekends everyone x x

Zayda so sorry forgot to say so delighted to hear ur news.. Im on my phone and it does it own thing sometimes!! I know what u mean Im the exact same.. Thats why im going to stay off grad list til fingers and toes crossed i pass the mc day next week.. Cheepz is so right tho we have to somehow stay positive.. Just so hard cos i keep getting pelvic pain but fingers crossed bean is sticking for all of us xx

HappyGirl1 · 03/04/2010 18:12

Cheepz ur so right re being positive. I had an awful day yesterday was so so stressed, its coming up to same time i mc last time so jst so stressed. Last nigt didnt sleep and realised im causing more damage than good so really really trying to be positive. You are such an inspiration and I really hope it happens again for u soon.

I think cos im pg straight after mc while great its jst so stressful. Need to get thru nxt few days. Has anyone heard of anyone going on to have a successful pg in those circumstances?

Barrenb got everything crossed for u. It def def def sounds promising!!!

Cheepz · 03/04/2010 15:08

zayja in my research i have read that post miscarriage your odds of a sucessful pregnancy are significantly improved with additional ante natal support to help alleviate anxiety, in my case as an example as a recurrent miscarrier with a child my chances of next pregnancy being sucesful are 70% but this increases to 86% if I get support and any counselling I need to relax and manage any concerns, so make sure you get all the support and medical attention you need to feel reassured and try and be positive.

Next time, and I am sure there will be a next time for me, I will be seeking support early and will be as positive as possible as I am becoming convinced this is half the battle and a big reason why women who have had a miscarriage are more likely to have another, I was stressed out about miscarrying every day of this pregnancy and that can't have helped!

hi boo thanks for dropping in - am keeping eye on you gals, given how many times you were there and back you and lee are my inspiration that it will work out eventually.

fingers still crossed for barrenb

barrenbrook · 03/04/2010 14:51

Zayja have left you on main list for now just in case you are still having double line denial

Boodleboot Hey chick! Hope all is well with you and the grads

Still no RTD for me, my slack peanut bladder is filling up alot quicker than normal, queasiness has not subsided, have funny achey pains in the left side of my pelvis-sy type area and a sore lower back. Still holding off testing though, the longer I wait, the less time I have to stress about losing it again!

Thanks for well wishes all! Second line is a bit darker this AM - so I may be a grad soon. Very excited, not sure I want to leave though...may be a week or two before I can join you gals boodle . Seems before mc I couldn't imagine not carrying a baby to full term, now after mc, I can't imagine a full term and healthy pregnancy. Still, trying to stay on the sunny side of the street, I was beginning to think I wouldn't ever be pg again!

FX for barrenbrook n Dirtgirl

Well, off to inlaws for Easter Dinner tomorrow, having rabbit and lamb, how twisted is that?!

Unbuffy · 03/04/2010 13:11

Also dropping by, feeling very sick (already! sooo not fair) and jealous of all your hot cross buns and curries and stuff. Ah well [martyred emoticon. Shame about the great big though, rather spoils it). Have been lurking and keeping an eye on all of you... stalker alert mwahahahaha...

[whisper] Amazing happy news Zayja, please please knock me off the bottom of the list!

G'luck wishes to Barrenbrook, Dirtgirl and any others feeling a bit creamy...

Happy Easter all!

boodleboot · 03/04/2010 11:52

hey all....just want to pop over and say hi...cheepz - glad you sound in such high spirits girlie, you are my inspiration. x

zayja - wooohoooo {very quietly very excited for you...}COms see us when you are ready....xxx

barrenbrook....fingers crossed for you too hun xxx

Dirtgirl · 03/04/2010 08:44

Westyorkshiregirl well done for that level of commitment! Every day since Tues!

Good luck Barrenbrook, fingers and buns (as in currant not bums ) crossed.

I'm holding off testing again until I'm officially late. I still think I could be pg but am less hopeful now the early tests came up with nothing.

Bunny I'm dieting but yesterday I managed a hot cross bun and a curry, and the night before I had a cheesecake slice from Waitrose, and a steak pie. Mmm, yes, back on the salad today. Gi1da lets hope you're right about holiday food.

WestYorkshireGirl · 02/04/2010 21:25

Barrenbrook Good luck!
zayja Great news!

See I knew we were due some good news after our tricky week!

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I have been in chaos all week with major building work in the house and the latest phase is over - just the cleaning up now and the small matter of the sodden carpet when the boiler failed to re-pressurize and the new radiators went awol!.

This really wasn't the best week to hit the sheets, but am most impressed with myself and DH as we have managed every day since Tues so I really have my fingers and toes crossed for me and all of us .

Cheepz · 02/04/2010 21:13

Very quiet but definite squeal of delight for zayja you have been waiting such a long time and for #1 so am rooting for you. best for you.

barren i had lots of cramy CM, just sayin'!!! and that was at the beginning when it was all going swell so fingers crossed for you that there is a BFP en route. BTW nice work on the list - is easier to see whose testing is imminent now which is always good for some Jerry style chanting for that good old test peer pressure!

jolls into your WTF cycle is good - fr told me once have had period post RPC next cycle should be pretty normal, so heres hoping its not too WTF, loving your airborne porcine ... beautiful way with words

Westfield was bonkers, but fun although abit knackering and I am bleeding abit more heavily and wondering if should take to couch and be an invalid for a while, but not very good at that. DS is like captain chaos at the mo, have to stop him from running down escalators or out in front of cars its exhausting, but he is hilarious! 4 pottys today - first time ever - we are waiting for him to tell us he needs to go as i can't be doing with reminding him all the time and he is coming along well.

book and couch beckons. xxxxx

Gi1da · 02/04/2010 20:40

Bunny official holiday food has zero calories during the festivities so nom nom nom away!!

Gi1da · 02/04/2010 20:39

Fingers, toes, arms, legs crossed for Barrenbrook* *Although hope to be uncrossing legs later for easter SWI

barrenbrook · 02/04/2010 20:20

bunny I think I need to come to your house! Your post made my mouth water and have just been rooting through the cupboards to find something remotely nice to eat. I hope you're right in your prediction, I reckon I'm due a sticky after two m/c and no sproglets to speak of. Too scared to test yet though, I think I might leave it until next week as I'm still worried that it might just be a bit of a fucked up cycle this time round after the CP last month.

I reckon you should go and release some of those hornymones on to the husband

BunnyBaby · 02/04/2010 20:05

zayja what lovely good news.

barrenbrook I have to admit, I really think you're pregnant. A really strong hunch that you've got a very sticky bean. (fortune teller bunny scuttles off).

I'm just pleased to have a 4 day RTD finish with 3 days of spotting. Instead of the last two cycles of 17 day RTD-bleedathons. Phew. It would appear the CP has sorted me out (thank you little soul). I think the MMC really screwed me hormonally especially as it was that bit later at 12 weeks.

Damage today is 3x hot cross buns, lots of M&S butter raisin cookies, mini eggs, and about to start on a pizza tonight. The heavy RTD has left me depleted, but that is obscene consumption!

Have managed to lose 4lbs but am likely to add a few more this this weekend.

Starting to feel horny again so hormones must be settling down. Poor DH won't know what's hit him!

Gi1da · 02/04/2010 19:41

Happy Easter everyone . May Oestre and her fuzzy, fecund bunnies of fertility visit you one and all.

Great news Zayja sounds like you well and truly deserve it.

Harry, Redhead, Kalo - hello - sorry it's under these circumstances but pleased to meet you.

Viv sorry you're feeling pants.

Dirtgal. Men. Tsk. WTF goes on in their little heads? Hope he has apologised (in deeds if not in words).

Raises a glass to all, crikey there are a lot of us! Chin chin to birthday girlies.

PS Slim - fab cat comment.

Dirtgirl · 02/04/2010 18:42

Zayja - Hope you get a darker line soon. How exciting.

I'm waiting a couple of days before testing again. It is a bit early. Like you I've been concentrating on getting fit and eating better and have lost half a stone and feel much better. Hope I get results pg wise too.

Goodluckbear the argument is over now . We had a falling out because I was at home with DS (age 2) and DH was at work (he's a landscaper). He was frantically trying to finish laying some turf before the rain and I rang him twice. He was deeply snarly and pissed off with me and complained that I'd made him take off his gardening gloves.

Fair enough you may think, but the reason I'd called was because our bathroom tap had broken in half in my hand and was pissing water everywhere like a fountain. All I wanted to know was A) Where the water turns off and B) if we had another tap or should I go out and buy one. I thought that was reason enough to get him to take his gloves off and for me not to be patronised.

barrenbrook · 02/04/2010 16:53

zayja wowser, how exciting, all is crossed for you chick. Look at you being AWOL and then coming back in with good news!! here's to an ever darkening line and a sticky bean x

jollster have popped you back on list on CD1. Hope that's OK.

Will try and update rest of list with a MIA / AWOL list, apologies in advance if I take someone off who shouldn't be taken off!!!!

zayja that's terrific (whispered very quietly but with a squealy excitement). Hope lines get stronger with imminent effect. Keep us posted.

Happy birthday weekend to the birthday girls.

Hope all eggsellent with everyone else.

Have started spotting today so guess this could be the start of WTF cycle? Checked what my due date would be and it would be 5/1/11, so in that I would probably have a ELCS I could just squeeze a 2010 babe in yet... sorry must dash there's something airborne and porcine floating past my (just cleaned) window....

Cheers to all.

zayja · 02/04/2010 15:52

ooo barrenbrook, you and I are close in cycle and been trying for #1 for the last year, maybe this is our month? Sounds promising.

zayja · 02/04/2010 15:47

Hi Ladies,
Sorry have been mostly AWOL for the last few months, just lurking every other week or so to see what's happening.

Like Dirtgirl, just trying to forget about ttc as it's been nearly a year since mmc, and nothing! Was taking clomid Jan and Feb and it turned me into an emotional wreck.

Decided to try to stop obsessing and start taking care of myself. Was considering taking myself off the list. Eating well, exercising, avoiding stress, etc. Well, I think it may have worked because I got a faint line yesterday and today. We'll see, trying not to be too excited.

cheepz, I agree the list needs organizing. Afraid I haven't been around much to see who's checking in and who's checked out. I'm glad your DH is such a gem, you derserve it. Been thinking about you lots lately and hoping you are recovering ok. Must admit I'm terrified to face mc or mmc again. You've been very strong about it all, don't think I'm as good a woman!

Welcome to our newbies, lots of great support here.

anyhoo, don't get too down about the 2010 thing, I've always thought it'd be rubbish to have a birthday round Christmas time anyway.

Hey Viv - get stuck into the Easter eggs early. You deserve it. I've got PMT and DH is getting it in the neck. Still, going on holiday today.

Welcome Harry - will pass you the wine, glad you found us.

Jules - hope today is alright. You can have the wine after Harry.
