So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

xx

Sorry Lia, I hadn't read your post when I put my long waffle on. Sorry you are feeling down. Hope that BFP is coming next month.

Yes next year does seem a long way off but once we get preg and get past the first really scary bit we'll have loads to take our mind of the wait.

You've got preg straight after a MC before - you can do it again hon. xx

hippychick66 · 05/04/2010 14:49

Hi all. I haven't been on for a while. Sorry, I just find it too hard - everytime a new person arrives I'm reminded of those awful raw days straight after we lost the baby. So i haven't been able to keep up much. I just wanted to say hello to anyone new (and as usual sorry you're here.) There are some wonderful ladies on this thread who will help you through these awful days and weeks.

On a more positive note I just wanted to tell you all that I bought Toni Weschler's book. Taking charge of your fetility. I am obviously not endorsing a product cos that would be wrong but I do want to tell you all that it is fab. If you get a chance to beg or borrow a copy (notice i missed out steal), then I would say it is definitely worth a look.

This month i learnt that I ovulated earlier than i thought I would. Had i not read the book I would have been SWI about 2 days after I had ovulated. Obviously I might have done some plain old shagging for fun at the right time but I do feel that we gave it a much better go because of what i learnt. Also I had some spotting around ovulation which I thought meant my cycle was all cocked up thanks to the MC but fortunately the book explained that it was actually a secondary sign of ovulation and all was ok.

It is a very thick book, so if you take one look at it and think, "Sod that Hippy, I'm not reading all that!"

Then all I will say is this - as soon as you get egg whites, go for it. i got them straight after my period and previously would have thought it was far too early and would have assumed that egg whites come and go. But having read the book i knew it meant I needed to get on with SWI despite the earlier date.

Sorry for the long rant. I just feel like i know my cycle so much better having read the book and I wanted to share it with others.

A Happy Easter to all and big hugs to those who are feeling incredibly sad today . It does get a bit better - I promise.
xxx

Hi all,

Sorry have been away for a while. Think I cingratulated buffy before I asconded but if not. cngratulations buffy

Me? Day 25 and BFN yesterday with fr so am well and truly pissed right off. TBH am really upset and was very tearful and depressed yesterday, tis cycle 2 since mmc now and really thought it would be ok. No chance of 2010 baby now. Next year just seems such a long way away.

RTD not arrived yet, due tomorrow and no signs yet, no aches or anything, maybe it'll be a longer cycle, I don't bloody know.

Sorry for whinging, good luck anyone due to test or waiting on anything exciting.

ElmMum · 05/04/2010 14:24

Thanks muchly, Alba. Feel like I'm off the blocks now, even though I'm only WTTC.

I don't think shinysideup is missing in action, wasn't she off to NZ for a month? seem to remember a post about needing to join the mile high club in order to get a bfp this month... made me laugh at the time, now waiting to hear if she managed it!

OK - had a quick check back, end of the last thread -- she should be on day 15 or thereabouts now.

I think cinnamonswirl is MIA though a couple of chirpy posts, added stats and then disappeared methinks we scared her off. Just occasionally I wonder if newbies stumble on our thread not knowing the acronyms and don't realise that we're post miscarriage (some days we're really quite lighthearted) and then a dark day comes along and they realise what the MC stands for and run a mile.

Right, must go - supposed to be working and this post has taken ages so no doubt crossed with lots of you....

Happy fertile healthy eggs to all!

I suppose strictly speaking you only put 'cycle 1' when it's cycles of ttc? But it's quite handy to keep track of how many periods I've gone through since mc so for me, this is cycle 1 post mc.

Does that make sense?

ElmMum · 05/04/2010 13:00

Hi all,

Been having a very nice Easter weekend. DH actually managing to have a break from work so felt like a real holiday. Hope sun is shining where you are.

I am defo having a proper period. Won't go into tmi but seems like normal heavyish flow.

Could someone move me on the stats list? (I'm too chicken to do it plus I can't nb how to do hash sign on a Mac...)

I should be under WTTC rather than Stats Pending, I think, becaus we're not actually ttc at the mo -

Gi1da · 05/04/2010 11:57

Hello All - g'morning Moofold [waves]

Westyorksgal well done on the medal winning shagathon! I hope you are proudly nomming easter chocolate to keep your reserves up. Have a super break to recuperate, you certainly deserve it!

After a bit of a disagreement over whether to actually try or just see what happens (me TRY dammit I'm bloody 38 now and this is NOT funny anymore, it's taken 4 years for nature to take its course so far FFS, and DH 'oh') we actually managed to SWI 4 times this week which is, well, not normal for us to say the least! When I got pg before (mc) we had only done it the once. What are the chances of it being that simple again eh?
So I have tentatively bought my ticket in this month's baybee lottery and hoping for the best. Sadly I just don't feel like I will get pg again. Can't explain why but have been v depressed as it feels like that was my one baby I lost and I won't get another.

Sorry big me me me ramble today.

Where's Viv? Did the rusty fucker actually arrive or are you still waiting?

Alba hope the cold is easing up. Bugger if you can't taste the chocolate!

Any news Barrenbrook?, Dirtgirl? Tigger it's bloody shite. Sorry it is taking so long for you.

Upduffybuffy waves in case you're having a wander through the thread!

Have added a note of the In Denial BFP's to the list without moving you girls Happy and Zayja officially to the grads. Also stalked noticed Icedlemonmuff was on a another thread with updated stats so have amended here.

Morning all, day 28 and no sign of RTD I did however have a tiny bit of spotting on Saturday night pinkish iyswim

I shall hold out for a couple of days as I certainly don't feel pregnant right now and I've been boob checking for days.. stupidly.

Hope you have all been having a lovely easter full of chocolate and wine! Many thanks moofold for the advice, I did apply and I'm waiting to hear..lot of waiting going on here!

Icedlemonmuffin · 05/04/2010 11:52

Hi can some kind person adjust me please

icedlemonmuffinTTC#2cycle12(posmc)UCL24-32CD11

I did try but just can't do it.

This thread is like a roller coaster with all our ups and downs and I cry if it's good news or if it's not so good news! I also wish I had just an ounce of Cheepz positivity.

Moofold · 05/04/2010 10:15

This thread has gone awful quiet - I hope that means everyone is too busy having a great easter break.

Tigger sorry you're feeling that way - I can totally understand how demoralising it is though. Maybe there's something to be said for stopping actively trying? It does put a lot of pressure on you and I think Zayja said a few days back she had stopped and then got a BFP. Look after yourself.

WYG you will be needing a holiday after that marathon session! You'll need to check out the thread about 'sore lady bits' if you keep on at that rate! Have a good time and we'll catch up with you soon.

Ok, no list since Saturday so I've had a bash below. My first time at updating everyone's stats so great scope for it to go tits up.... Tigger I've not put you on the list - hope that's what you meant?

tigger15 Sorry to hear your disappointment. Maybe you do need a bit of time off from TTC? I know it gets me down a bit too.

Alba I would be really gutted to have a cold at Easter and for the chocolate to taste iffy . I have just broken into my first egg and enjoyed it immensely

Moofold Good to have you back on the thread. We've had an up and down week, but we need to stay positive.

I am pleased to report that my great sex escapade has run it's course! In the last 9 days I've had sex 6 times and have to say thoroughly enjoyed it (as did DH)! . I thought it would feel a bit mundane as we clearly were doing our utmost to get PG but it's been really lovely and brought us really closer together. I have read that the more sex you have, the more you want it and that is def true! I really hope it pays off. I have a while to wait now which will no doubt kill me!

The other exciting news is that DH has organised a surprise few days away at a nice hotel with spa and all my friends and family have been in on it (looking after the dog and pretending to take me shopping so I wouldn't plan anything as I thought I was taking the week off on my own!). I go tomorrow until Weds and am looking forward to it! Then I am seeing my niece and nephews for a full on few days so it's all go this week and I might not make it onto MN too often, but I will think of you all.

ElmMum · 04/04/2010 14:34

Moo and Alba - thanks for the info. I don't feel like I need to see a doctor, I guess I'm just wondering whether to think of this as a period or just a hormonal blip! It's certainly not as heavy as a normal period (and sorry, I know I should be saying AF or RTD or whatever, but I just can't bring myself too!!!)

tigger15 · 04/04/2010 12:14

RTD just came. I did everything right - swi before, during and after ovulation, accupunture the works. Plus I got diagnosed with background retinopathy to round the good news off. I don't know how much longer I can keep on with this. Don't bother counting me for next month because I think I'm giving up for a month or so.

AlbaDeTamble · 04/04/2010 10:38

Hi Elmmum, I had the same 12 days after ERPC. Followed up with Dr and there was nothing wrong. In hindsight think likely was ovulation as period arrived 12 days later. Probably just so many more hormones floating around than normal which caused the bleed which I never normally get at ovulation.
If you're at all concerned I'd see a Dr, if only to put your mind at rest. Though must admit I got no definitive answer, just a scan to check nothing still there. Slight bleeds apparently can also be that your womb still has a tiny bit of clearing out left to do. Did you have a follow up scan? (the worst kind as I recall, seeing emptiness when you should be pregnant).
I remember at the time being gutted at yet more bleeding as I so desperately wanted to be pregnant again. Curiously now I'm wondering if we should wait a little longer just so my body gets more of a rest. Those pg symptoms for a few days last week reminded me just how tough that first trimester is...

Anyway, enough rambling. I hope nothing else untoward for you and you can enjoy the bank holiday.

Snufflingly horrid cold here. Choc not tasting right

Happy Easter to all, whispering congrats to all with two lines on a test and hoping for more good news as the week goes on and hoping the chocolate fix banishes grumpiness for the rest of us

ElmMum · 04/04/2010 10:01

Quick update on last post... definitely a bit more period-y now so have to assume I guess that this is the first period after mc?!

Looking at dates like this has made me realise why I've been feeling low in energy. It's actually only 5 weeks since I started mc and only 2 weeks since I stopped. Feels much longer than that.

Think I'm going to start taking folic acid again and maybe some pre-preg vits, just so I feel like I'm doing something positive, even though we're not going to start ttc until after the next period.

Alrighty, better get on with the day. Cheers all x

Moofold · 04/04/2010 09:59

Mummy I was about 8 or 9 weeks when I got the swine flu jab. When I was 6/7 weeks I had been getting some stabbing pains in the right of my abdomen and they sent me to the EPU for a scan - where we saw our little bean in the right place and a very good heartbeat. I got the swine flu jab about 2 weeks later and the 12 week scan a further two weeks down the line (I was only around 11 weeks but I think the scan was early because Christmas was the following week). At the 12 week scan they told us there was no heartbeat and that the baby had stopped growing about 2 weeks earlier - so I have always worried about that coinciding with the swine flu jab.

Elm I think I got that about 4-5 weeks after the ERPC, followed by a short period a week or so later. I remember the brown bleeding lasting for 3 or 4 days. I was getting fed up because I didn't know if it was a period but a week or so later I got the proper red bleed and knew it was probably just a wee clear out.

ElmMum · 04/04/2010 08:35

Well, some action ladies. I'd appreciate your thoughts...

It's two weeks since I stopped bleeding from mc. Last night before bed, there was a very faint amount of brownish bleeding on wiping, but really almost not noticeable at all). I put a pad on but it was completely clean this morning.

I thought last night that this might be the start of my first period since mc, but two weeks doesn't seem time to have ovulated and got a period, does it?

I have a slightly (very slightly) achy period-y feeling (but it could as easily be in my mind or just a slightly dicky tummy).

So what's all that about then? Could I be ovulating? Would that cause a little bit of bleeding? Never has before for me.

What do you think?
Happy easter, all, btw. Wishing you great mountains of choc

Mummy3610 · 04/04/2010 00:08

Moofold can I ask, did you have the swine flu jab before or after you became pregant? I had it about 4-5 days before I ovulated. I finally plucked up the courage to ask my Occupatonal Health dept on wednesday about it. They said statistically no evidence to suggest any harm to pregnancy. I did point out that I wouldn't be included in the statistics because I wasn't yet pregnant at time of the jab
