So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

xx

Oh barren lovely lovely news hunni! you stay where you are until your ready. Plenty of rest and tlc, lets hope you have a very un-eventful 8 months x x x

VivClicquot · 06/04/2010 13:11

Oh Barrenbrook, what lovely news. Congratulations honey - I'm so pleased for you.

Funnily enough, my office is above a Neal's Yard where they do acupuncture, so have just been and had a chat with their lovely lady who specialises in acupuncture for fertility issues. I logged on here to tell you all that I'd taken the plunge, so your post is EXACTLY what I want to hear.

Afternoon ladies, sorry for my absenteeism however have had a somewhat busy weekend with dh being home and hogging the laptop!

Sorry to hear a few of you are feeling poo, lia, gi1da, viv. Sending you all some lovely Oyster Bay SB and some lovely lemon drizzle cake I made yesterday.

So I tested. BFP. Holy shit. Was not expecting that and keep frantically knicker checking which is becoming quite stressful! I almost feel guilty getting another one so soon. Third time lucky, fingers crossed.

Viv, I think it was you that asked about accupuncture, I've been having it for the past couple of months and I am convinced it helped me conceive, I had nothing fir a year after mmc and then two bfps in two months after having it. Would highly recommend.

I've not name checked or anything so sorry if I have missed anything, quite hard to do on my phone. I think i'm still in complete shock and am praying all works out. Please can I stay a while until I feel more confident I have a sticky? Sorry for self obsessedness of post!

hippychick66 · 06/04/2010 11:20

Yes everything is very bold today isn't it.

I had reflexology before and am having it again. My lady did an extra course in fertility and she is very careful not to touch the bits she shouldn't after I've ov'd.

It is wonderful. I just hate it if I nod off cos then i miss it

Happygirl, glad you are happy!

If i go by your aunt's rule then I get to do nothing until at least 8 weeks cos thats when our little one stopped developing. Might push it up to 12 weeks which is when we discovered it. Looking forward to the rest

Once again I'm so glad I was of help to you. So many people were great to me when I arrived (all shellshocked and wide eyed with sorrow) and it's lovely to know that I helped someone else as well. xx

VivClicquot · 06/04/2010 11:10

Oooh everything is emboldened!

Anyway, morning all - thanks for your lovely words last night.

The bleeding is heavier now, so can somebody move me back down to the bottom of the list with the following:

vivcliquot TTC#1 UCL28 cycle 5 CD2

Feeling very deflated, although DH is being lovely and full of optimism.

Can you remind me which of you lovely ladies has had acupuncture (or was it reflexology?) for help with conceiving? I've had acupuncture in the past for my eczema so am considering giving it a go - largely as a de-stresser to be honest. Although I don't feel stressed about it all, I wonder whether I am subconsciously.

Sorry Hippy - I got a BFP two weeks ago today it turns out. I'm being a total wuss I know but I Just couldn't face going on the grads list until I passed the same time as the MC last time around (which is yesterday / today). Fingers crossed I get through it.

I didn't 'have' to take it easy all weekend but my aunt (who was a midwife) said that you should literally do nothing for the days before you MC'd last time just to give your body every chance so I tried that at the weekend.. so hard doing nothing but obviously hopefully worth it in the long run.

You really did help me loads and loads so really really hope it works out for you (and everyone here)

hippychick66 · 06/04/2010 10:58

What an idiot I am!

Sorry Happygirl I just read the stats and you got a BFP on 23/3. Many many congrats. That was really quick. Hoping this one will stick around and that all goes well for you.

Big Hippy hugs.

hippychick66 · 06/04/2010 10:55

Thanks happygirl. I'm genuinly beeming now to hear that I was of some help to you in those first awful days - they really are the pits arn't they.

I have totally lost touch with what's going on here so have to ask - Why did you have to lie on sofa and take it easy and why move to grads tomorrow??? Are you preg or just positive and hopeful (like this mad hippy!)

Sorry if you've already told everyone this.

Can you just repeat it again for this poor old hippy pls?

HappyGirl1 · 06/04/2010 10:34

Okay Ladies above is today's list.. hopefully I didn't get it all wrong. Zayja I've moved you down to Graduates as requested.. well done you for being a graduate . I hope to make it there myself tomorrow.

Viv thinking of you loads and really hope you get the news you want and deserve.

CHeepz glad to hear you are feeling a bit better also and glad you have stopped bleeding too. That must be a relief. Glad you had a nice weekend.

Hippy I like your positivtiy . Hope it works out well for you this month. You gave me so much great advice when I joined this thread that I will always remember that.

Me well I've had a very nervous weekend, was just so nervous all weekend. I litereally did nothing except lie on the sofa and take it really easy (and ate some chocolate!). That's so unlike me, I'm just not someone who can sit down but figured I should give my body every chance. So fingers crossed it seems to be okay so far. Hopefully I'll make it through to tomorrow and then I'll definitely move onto the Grads list.

Hello to all - thanks for the birthday congrats please help yourself to left over cake ( and I'll not mind if you dip into the chocolate eggs too).

I'll try and keep this short as I'm supposed to be working and my 4 day absence from here, due to trying to break world records in chocolate eating and wine drinking, has meant things have happened and I don't have time to catch up fully.

I see there are congrats for zayja, always a good one to find on the thread.

There also seems to be a few ladies in waiting - I can almost feel your aprehension and excitment.

Post RTD feeling more positive. I've hit 38, 2 stone over my ideal weight but it could be worse. I have diet and excercise planned, spring has sprug, let the SWI commence!!!!

Right work

hippychick66 · 06/04/2010 09:56

zayja many congrats - how exciting for you.

What fab news that you had mid-cycle spotting and got a BFP.

It does make me very encouraged. Mind you I've been listening to my Zita West CD so much this month that I have become ubber positive. I am currently about 99.9% sure i will get preg this month (heading for a fall maybe!!!!).

Still it's good to be positive and if it all goes tits up - I'll deal with it then .

littlemiss72 · 06/04/2010 08:06

Morning all, happy Tuesday!

ViV hang in there it's not over til it's over if you know what I mean. I'm having the same issues, had a tiny little bit of pinkish discharge Sat night and nothing since. Should have had RTD Sunday/Monday, still nothing to report

Cheepz sounds like you've had a lovely Easter weekend and things are looking up, nice to kick back and relax I bet!

Zayja Good to hear your getting the support you deserve, big conrgats to you hunni, looks like all is going well.

Clare you eaten those eggs yet.. stop tempting us girlies trying to lose a few pounds, pure torture lol.

I'm hell bent I'm not testing, not sure I could face it right now either way. Me boobies are not sore and for me that's a big sign so not holding out much hope this month.

Love to all x

zayja · 06/04/2010 01:57

Hi Ladies,
You're right gi1da, have been in denial but got some reassurance today. Had blood drawn and hcg levels are good for being 4weeks. Due to previous mmc, they're checking levels again on Wed. and also prescribed progesterone suppositories. I'm excited to get the extra support this time around. I'm taking your advice cheepz, think I'm gonna see fertility clinic counselor (free), and also trying to continue healthy diet and exercise to keep stress down. I think I'm ready to move to the grads list, just don't want to do the list again for Mon., would someone move me if they think of it tomorrow?

Happy, hope you're holding up well and progressing happily towards next week.

Polly, sorry to hear your news. viv hang in there, hope things start looking up. You may consider testing for the reason cheepz mentioned. tigger, also thinking of you, have been in your spot for the last several months - just fed up. It really does help to try to focus on other things, specifically - YOU! Take care of yourself, plan a holiday, etc. I daily convinced myself that it would be good if I was NOT pg so that I could continue to exercise and get in shape for a fab summer holiday. Hang in there!

I second (third?) hippys advice on Toni W's book, it's full of good info. She stresses the importance of ewcm for fertility. BTW clare I had no ewcm for months following mmc. Maybe try Preseed?

moofold just wanted to mention that I also had a mmc discovered at 12w scan - very tough. Hope that you are dealing ok. SWI at the first sign of ewcm!

elmmum, a good feeling to finally have a proper period after mc ordeal. Congrats!

hippy, just wanted to mention that I had mid-cycle spotting for the first time ever this month - and got a BFP, so here's hoping!

barren, littlemiss, dirtgirl - any good news? liahgen, how 'bout you, good news?

Cheepz · 05/04/2010 22:29

viv that sucks, seems like you might want to test just so you know - helped me in Jan to know I had been pg even though by the time I found out I was having mc! Also means when talking to doctors they can get a clear idea of how many - if I hadn't tested as far as doctors would be concerned i would only have had 2 mcs and they wouldn't so any tests. big kisses for you though.

I have stopped bleeding post eprc (yay) according to CBFM am on CD5 post ERPC - thought I may as well use it to see when I ovulate this 'cycle' not least to avoid any highs and peaks until have normal AF.

Had lovely weekend with DH and DS, was so relaxed for once I think because the op was over and now we are not TTC which after nine months of trying is a nice breahter. no doubt next month will be nuerotic again about everything - dates, times, mucus, etc, but for now it is a nice break, and I am really enjoying DS. Have given up thinking about age gap and timing, because lord knows how long it will take to have a pregnancy that 'works' but I am definitely going to try and keep my head in this space as its much happier than where I was before, even when pregnant before mc.

clare stop tempting me with your easter eggs I am desparately trying to shift some pounds while I can excercise like a demon and diet!

lia hope you feel better soon hon, the disappointment is always a bitter pill

clareanna · 05/04/2010 21:14

viv crossed posts- sorry to hear you've had a difficult weekend - maybe best not to test and wait and see what happens over the next few days? Take care- x

clareanna · 05/04/2010 21:00

There are SEVEN easter eggs in my house - arrrggh
please take them away!

tigger what a shite time you're having - just wanted to send you a hug

Lia - good to hear from you again, but sorry you're having a tough time. it's such a rollercoaster - the emotions we go through each cycle are ery stressful - I hope to try to be more relaxed this time round, but it sort of creeps up and sucker punches you every now and again with how bloody unfair it is.
hope all goes well at the docs, and you get some reassuring answers.

hippy you can now be official EWCM monitor - I have been very confused by the whole this as not a whiff of anything remotely egglike since my MMC I don't think! Hence my new friend my CBFM - it's very nice, get to POAS every morning at the mo - happy days, should cure any early testing madness I get up to this cycle (based on last cycle this is highly unlikely, but I'm in positive mode at the mo)

muser well done for holding it together. It can be really tough putting on a happy face, so hope you are OK tonight.

polly sorry to hear your news - hope you are feeling OK x

will burn the broccoli so sorry haven't got longer to name check

All fine here - had a good birthday - except for fact that lovely DH nought me personal training sessions - that I hadn't asked for - there's a hint if ever I saw one! To be fair I had been moaning about not finding time to exercise and feeling generally crap and my DH loves to find a solution god love him. Happily the personal trainer is rather fit and aged 28 so at least there'll be some eye candy while I'm working up an unattractive sweat. DH also discovered my hidden CBFM and was rather alarmed! I think his words were "oh god, has it come to this?!" explained that I was only using it to try to see if everything was getting back to normal, and then did some SWOI to reassure him I wasn't going military about things (!!)

VivClicquot · 05/04/2010 20:56

Hey x

So I've had a bit of a rollercoaster weekend and am still not fully sure what the heck is going on.

Quick precis: according to the OPKs and CBFM, my period was due on either Sat or Sun. Got my usual pre-AF browny/pinky cm on Friday morning like clockwork, which prompted my minor hissy fit. Saturday comes. Nothing other than a small amount of pink cm. Sunday comes. Nothing.

This is odd - although my cycles have been a little bit irregular since losing Gracie, I know from using the ovulation predictors that I ALWAYS get AF exactly 14 days after ovulation. Had a sleepless night last night thinking that this could be it.

Get up this morning. Still nothing. Mind going into overdrive. Then had a touch of spotting this afternoon which now looks like it's getting 'clottier' but still isn't what I would call a 'flow' (although I've re-set the CBFM to CD 1). Have been at my parents all weekend so haven't done a pg test.

To be honest - am scared of doing one as I suspect AF is on its way, but can't help but wonder whether the delay is because it's a chemical pregnancy.

Either way, a disappointing end to what started to be a very hopeful weekend.

Anyway, hope you're all okay and having a restful night. Sorry for being a bit self-indulgent - will do a full namecheck tomorrow, but in the meantime, am off to watch The Pacific on Sky Movies.

Love to all xxx

snatches Gi!lda's hand off takes chocolate bunny gratefully.

Thanks for that, very well received. I don't really symptom check either, can't keep track of it all tbh, just try and have sex every other day from end period to about week before it due again, gets very very boring uninventive after a while, as I'm sure we all know.

polly sorry to hear that, a very very early mc. I hate the term chemical pregnancy, it's still a mc however early. Take it easy.

I am 43 now and feeling very old at the moment due to all this. Got docs Weds to see how the sticky blood test thingy came back. See what he's got to say, was kind of hoping I wouldn't need appt but hey ho.

Pollyanna · 05/04/2010 20:16

Oh Liah, I know how you feel - I was sure I was pg this month too (and did have a positive pg test) and then rtd came anyway. for some reason I thought it would happen quickly for me too and all I can think about is that the gap will be huge between ds2 and the next one and my 40th birthday looming...

then again I have never tested positive early so perhaps it will just be a bit later for you this month.

hippy I have that book too - I think it is really good.

Gi1da · 05/04/2010 19:51

Hi Muser sounds like you have a really fabulous family in law. Bet they'll be chuffed to bits when it's your turn again. I know it's still a bugger though.

I think the no baby situation offends the British Queue gene. In the same way I start to grumble when a whole stream of cars will not let me out of a side road, when a new till opens at a checkout and someone behind jumps over to it, and when someone new gets updufferentiated, I just want to yell OI! I WAS HERE FIRST!!!

Taking note of egg white tip thanks Hippy. Must inspect more often! I'm such a novice I've just been going by the mnet ov calendar. I guess as I slowly start going mental over the coming months I will start to be a bit more aware of what's going on in my ladybits. Oh so much to learn.

Moofold thanks for the chinny.

Muser · 05/04/2010 18:13

Hello everyone. I've been a bit quiet as there's not much to say when you're waiting. Period came and went. Had a pretty hard Easter as was with my in-laws and my other sil is now pregnant. So much happiness and excitement and, while I'm happy for them, it did reignite those feelings of loss.

In-laws were lovely though. My aunt and mil made a point of telling me how sorry they were and that they didn't want me to think I'd been forgotten and they just didn't know what to say as nothing could make it better. And my sil was so nervous when she told me so I feel guilty for not feeling happier.

Moofold · 05/04/2010 17:53

Hippy I think I need your book. After giving Elm advice on the brown bloodish stuff encountered after ERPC I have just had some and am now producing eggwhites right out of the blue. Its far too early, I've never ov'd before day 18 and the CBFM says low fertility. So what the hell is all that about? Sometimes I get really fed up scrutinizing my every bodily function like this - then not being able to make any sense of it.

G1lda and Liah try not to get too down in the dumps. We've all been pg before and will be there again. After experiencing my first TWW since miscarriage (coupled with my delusional symptoms) I know its completely disheartening when RTD approaches - especially when you know you have done everything right. Keep your chin up both.

Alba I've caught your cold, feeling miserable. Actually glad to be in low fertility mode because I can't think of anything worse than SWI at the moment. Jammies, pizza and wine for me tonight.

liahgen66 · 05/04/2010 17:47

thanks hippy my cycle is usually 26 days so day 25 should be reliable either way. Not to worry, am bit more resigned today than yesterday.

I would like to read that book, a friend offered it to me couple years ago, didn't think i'd need it then.

Just started to feel as if i'm gonna come on now so just wait for tomorrow. Thank god shops are closed early cos got that stupid overwhelming feeling about an hour ago that I simply must test.

I need an interest.

hippychick66 · 05/04/2010 16:03

Lia day 25 is still quite early. Don't give up on this month yet.
