So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

morning all

viv sorry but was laughing at thought of you throwing skinnyventimochachoccabullshitlatte all over yourself - sounds like just the sort of thing I would do

I have a hormone headache and CBFM says I have gone from nowhere to PEAK today so am now in two minds, I need to not get pregnant (!!) this cycle so will be avoiding SWI for next few days, but it doees mean I would be free to SWOI at our weekend away this weekend without taking any precautions, however, I am not sure whether the CBFM is reliable this cycle (am 12 days post ERPC, 16 days post onset of bleeding) and still have some very dark 'residue' coming out (sorry tmi) so how can I be sure about reliability of ovulation prediction ....

I am hoping to avoid the rather dampening effect of suggesting to DH that we deploy alternative forms of contraception, but seems a shame not to take advantage of a lovely grown up weekend away without DS.

thoughts?

happy hope you are ok

bunny lets keep fingers crossed for implantation - will make the 2ww more interesting - optimism helps!

Redheadgal · 12/04/2010 13:02

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Bunny, you definitely could go with some good news after all that stress!

Got my BFN today - woo! My body has figured out it's not pregnant and we can try again. Just weighing up the pros and cons of waiting a month or just going for it

HappyGirl1 · 12/04/2010 12:58

Viv sounds like you have had a terrible start to the day you poor thing.. hopefully things are starting to get better now.

Sorry for not being on yesterday.. just back now and going to catch up on the thread so will namecheck properly later this afternoon.

I'm just super confused, so had that test that said 3-4 weeks on Sat (I should be 6 weeks), boobs just not sore and deflated on Saturday also. Then yesterday we were at a christening and decided to do another test (i've given CB digital a small fortune this month!) and this time it said 5+ weeks which is correct. I rang the hospital and asked what I should do and they said if I've gotten the pos test with 5+ weeks then that's good news and to see my GP today. She's got no appts today so having to wait until the appt I had already scheduled for WEdnesday. So another waiting game. Boobs defintely a bit sore today again but not as bad as they were.

I dunno it's just so stressful. I was scared beyond belief on Sat cos the suddenness of the whole boobs thing just disappearing and then the test. Oh I don't know. I desperately want things to be okay and I'm really really trying to be positive today. I am wondering in my total non expert medical way was it just because I had some kind of crazy sickenss bug on Saturday that my hormones went all over the place for 24 hours. That's all I can hope I guess. It prob makes no sense though but still Fingers crossed. ANother waiting game now though til Wednesday and who knows if she will even take me seriously.

I will namecheck shortly sorry for being toally self indulgent just had a horrible few days.

Thinking of you all loads. Hope the better weather is somehow helping xx

BunnyBaby · 12/04/2010 12:37

Good morning all!

viv that's really pants. I hate trying to be discreet when I've hit my head and really hurt myself. Grrr.

Me, I'm well into non-fertile cloudy mucus (sorry if tmi) this morning a spot of brown blood in a small patch of ewcm amongst the normal stuff. I would normally be over the moon in my normal cycles where I ovulate around day 12 as this would indicate implantation bleed .

However 2 previous cycles were screwy compared to normal and longer, which could indicate this is ovulation. However, as I had rivers of ewcm last week fingers crossed it's the former.

Dontcha just hate the 2WW!

Diet panrlts as parents down, will try and be a good girl this week!

Also we went to court last week as an odd character decided to sue my very honest husband. This chap wanted £25k from DH and we fought the case( no other option really). The judge heard and considered the case then dismissed and awarded us our costs back. Best possible outcome but stress tore at our marriage and we lost Gabriel so you can't out a price on it. Anyway we are so happy and I got very pissed both Fri and Sat night (would be rude not to). Who wanrs a bet the first time I let my hair down we get lucky (am normal tee-total for TTC). Fingers crossed as I believe everyone on this thread deserves a BFP this month.

Have a lovely day and baby dust being scattered over everyone xxx

Morning lovelies x

A big whoop whoop whoop for goodluckbear - lovely news to start the week.

happygirl - hope you're doing okay today honey.

So I've had a really crappy start to the day. Am in London for the day so was up early to catch the train from Manc. Only I accidentally took both sets of house keys, therefore leaving DH locked in the house. I was half way between Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent when I got an angry call from him, so could do absolutely nothing about it...

So I then arrived in London and went to catch a cab from Euston to my office. As I climbed into the taxi with a steaming skinnyventimochachoccabullshitlatte, I smacked my head on the roof of the cab, which sent me sprawling backwards onto the floor of the taxi rank. Thankfully, I was caught by one of those taxi wardens but not before I'd thrown a glug of skinnyventimochachoccabullshitlatte into my face and hair.

I'll leave you all with that thought, while I go and comb chocolate dandruff out of my sodden mop...

Morning All,
Happy sweets, thinking of you.
Let us know how you're getting on.

Catch up later, really should be making a move now.

Byeeeeeee x

Gi1da · 11/04/2010 22:12

Hey Clareanna, LadyB, PrettyMrsG, Cheepz, WestYorks, LittleMiss, BunnyBaby and FantasticNewsBear hope you've all enjoyed the sunshine today.

HappyGirl been thinking of you and hoping all is well. x

BunnyBaby · 11/04/2010 21:57

Congratulations GLB! really good news. My parents are still down so a bit quiet on here as out and about a lot.

Goodluckbear · 11/04/2010 19:37

Thanks for the messages guys, really appreciate it. I did another test this morning and the line looks like a definite line now (presume doing it first thing in the morning helps) so feeling a little more confident, although every slight ache has me running for the loo, knicker checking like a loon.

Might move to grads in a bit, just got to get used to the idea...

WYG - fingers crossed for you, when are you going to poas??

Littlemiss - glad you are feeling better than before, you are a tough cookie.

Happy - how are you today?

xxx

littlemiss72 · 11/04/2010 15:05

Hello all,

What lovely sunny Sunday! DP is frantically tidying up and getting reading to move in with me .. I just hope he clears out all his junk before he arrives

After a sleepless night Friday I'm feeling much better thankfully. Was bleeding very heavy however that seems to have tailed off now.

Sounds like you've had a wonderful relaxing week WYG good on you girl.

Good to hear your also feeling he benefits of the sunshine cheepz god knows you've been though it over the past couple of months. I'm taking a leaf out of your book and kicking back a bit

GLB oooh quite congrats to you hunni, hope all goes well.

Love to all x

WestYorkshireGirl · 11/04/2010 14:28

Hello all

Am back after my travels and see there is a lot to catch up on. Welcome to the newbies.

Littlemiss - hope you are feeling better after your disappointment.

Polly - my 2 periods since mc have been heavy and painful with clots and also a bit random in length. From what I've read this is normal, but it is a bit frightening. Hope things are improving.

GLB - Your news is very exciting as we were MC at the same time. I hope this month is lucky for us both. Hope you had a nice holiday.

Happy - agree with other posters to try and stay calm - I hope things are OK.

I am still having random episodes of car sickness and tiredness, but not queasiness in mornings. Am trying not get too positive as have quite a while until will be able to test and it could all be nothing.

I have found this week off really did me good. My SIL said to me when I had mc that we should make the most of our time without children and at the time I thought how could I when all I want is a baby; however, this week with DH, having the spa break then time with my nieces and nephews would all be things that would be harder with children so I just made the most of them. I also enjoyed wine and stilton .

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow as the weather is so lovely, but maybe it will distract me away from other thoughts!

Cheepz · 11/04/2010 13:22

the sun just makes everything seem way better

having fab weekend, feeling better than in months?! think it must be this not ttc and not pregnant state I am in after all the mc's and all the anxiety being pg i feel liberated!! its almost enough to stop me trying again .. but not quite

happy try and hang in there and be positive. go to an epu tomorrow and ask for a scan - they will be able to tell you about size for dates which is a good indicator, hadn't really thought about it but when i had 7 week scan last timei knew i was 7 1/2 weeks and she said 6 so if i had thought about it would have realised maybe baby not growing at right pace

glb whisper of quiet joyous congrats - heres hoping

gilda and mrsg alias pv am loving the diatribe, keep it coming

right off to bask in the glory of pottering domestic bliss in the sunshine ..

PrettyVacant1 · 11/04/2010 12:13

Sounds like a plan Gi1da
I'll give them a ring Tue/Wed after they've had chance to test latest offerings.

It would be nice to have offical go-ahead but as you said accidents do happen.

And I thought I hid my fetishes well

PrettyVacant1 · 11/04/2010 10:01

X post Clare boy stolen craptop so it's taking me ages on iPod.
Erm... Results: If normal wait 6 months from mc
If not normal wait till normal results are seen then 6 months.
Does that make sense?

Got normal,
MC Jan
1st result back March.

Was normal Feb too as negatory poas tests.

I'd be very unlucky for it too happen again as it's approx 1 in 1200 pregs.
They've sorted the nk cells with steriods which I'll definitely get next time.
Without those I'll mc again anyway.

It's all good, honestly!

Gi1da · 11/04/2010 09:56

MrsG, you may not be able to hold your own water but half the Sheffield post service has!

I think you should tell them that you're getting impatient and little accidents might happen.. and see whether they actually freak out or just roll their eyes at you and pass you the Holy Sceptre of Imminent Diffment.

Gi1da · 11/04/2010 09:52

Sorry gallows humour I know but rouge cancerous cells makes me think of little cellular bastards running round with pots of blusher.

My name is Mrs Pedant and I'll get my coat......

PrettyVacant1 · 11/04/2010 09:40

Well done for staying sane at the party LadyB not sure I would've when suprised like that.
I've been told I wear my heart on my face not sleeve like people who actually have emotional restraint!

I pee in envelopes and post them to Sheffield General as my last mc was a molar preg and my hormone levels need to be monitored for a while incase there were any rouge cancerous cells floating around me.
But there's not, it's all good.

Gi1da I literally can't hold my own water!
There's nothing wrong with me! If they tell me to wait till Aug I'll scream.
Should I ?
Go on, tell me I can...
< jumps up and down clapping hands >

I likey PrettyMrsG
Better than VacantG

I love my PIL
They give me lots of wine and spoil me.
They like me more than MrG

Gi1da · 11/04/2010 09:27

As far as we know.....

Gi1da · 11/04/2010 09:26

And a merry bollocks to you too on this beautiful spring day LadyBee . Nothing worse that seeing +s when you know you need a -. It's another of the bloody indignities that we really don't need. Leave it as long as advised then you get to save the sticks for when a + is good news again.

And don't worry, MrsG's not a urine/stationary fetishist.

clareanna · 11/04/2010 09:21

PIL - parents in law

PrettymrsG - hmm is a tricky- why do you have to wait that long after levels returned to normal and rtd ? Is it because risk of another one is higher ? Or risk of mc is higher for a while? Are there statistics you can peruse on these things ? Maybe now is the time to google (if you haven't cracked already?!). Cats and dh definitely in cahoots - my old cat had a blocked tear duct and every morning at 4.45 she would jump on me (never dh) until a great big fat tear would drip from her nose onto my face- this was then followed by furious face butting and purring (cat not me). was a lovely way to be woken up- I miss her..

LadyBee · 11/04/2010 09:15

Oh bollocks should have read thread first!

Goodluckbear congratulations! how lovely, and I'm sure the wine just gave it a nice old warm welcome (a housewarming!!) - who wouldn't want to stick around?
I'll let you decide whether/when to put yourself on graduates - but yay!

Happygirl really sorry you're feeling worried. Were the tests from the same box or batch? I'm sure there can be variation in their sensitivity. I think the advice to try get blood tests done at the EPU is good. Hang in there.

PIL - parents in law, right?

But MrsG why are you peeing in envelopes?

Mixed day yesterday for me. We had a birthday party for a friend's boy to go to, place was full of my nct group who I haven't seen much of lately. Walked in to find one had a 5-month pg bump and another was announcing her pregnancy. Couldn't do much about it, so just walked straight up to the first one, gave her a big hug and got it over with, then spent the rest of the party concentrating on DS to stop myself dwelling.
Stopped off a good friend on the way home while DH took DS home for the evening. Drank wine, sat on couch and talked and talked. She was brilliant and I am very lucky to have such a wonderful friend.

This morning, peed on the first of my strips - ordered from amazon they arrived yesterday. Showed a +ve result which made me sad again. Think I'll test again on Wednesdays and a weekend until I get a negative.

Clareanna gawd if my PIL were coming I really would be on the sauce! Good luck.

PrettyMrsG I wonder about you sometimes. You may fold under questioning.
Atleast droid is on schedule, and I think the Sheffield post service will ardently petition your cause to just get on with ttcing and bugger all the testing if things look like they are getting back to normal.

Heavens what will Jolly peeing on spuds and you peeing in envelopes it's a whole carnival of wee.

GoodNewsBear Tentative warm fuzzies to you. Quiet hoorah.

And a fingers crossed for Malteser may you be on the way to baybee win.
