So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

Thanks for the welcome, sad to be on this thread but it helps that you are all so lovely.

I am feeling a bit like a robot as i have just picked myself up and continued on as if nothing has happened. Came straight back to work on Monday and am now worried that at some point in the not to distant future somthing will set me off and that will be it, I will be a wreck for days. It may hit home once we are back at the fertility clinic, which should be within 10-12 weeks. I am just trying to lose some weight in the meantime, one because i need too and two, it gives me something to focus on.

Can anyone give me some advice, on Friday and Saturday i had some quite heavy bleeding but it was quite dark and then it tailed off, today it is getting heavier and is more like fresh blood. Does this sound OK?

Lovely sunny day in Norway today, so at least the sun is giving me something to smile about.

digitalgirl · 14/04/2010 11:56

GLB when you say 'make a feature' of it, do you mean you've drawn a little face on it?!

DH has gone off on a two night business trip (he offered to stay, but have got back up with mum today and friend round tonight). So I went to the hospital on my own where I had blood test for HCG levels. Was hoping for a result within the hour, but they're going to call me back. Was also hoping to speak to someone about next steps, but obv have to wait for results.

Felt a bit teary, but haven't had the full-on waterworks that I did last time. Is that normal?

My mum's been great - although she thinks the NHS are rubbish for not investigating till you've had 3 in a row. She said there's no history of mc in her family. The women have all had really long cycles 6-7 weeks long, but she conceived both me and my sister without problem and has never had a mc herself. Her mum (my grandma) had her when she was 45, and my mum's closest sister had a baby when she was 42. So my eggs should be ok at 31.

So, despite beginning to have the sense of 'relief' that some of you have written about (waking up and knowing for sure you're not PG so not having to worry about it going wrong) am having morbid thoughts about ttc straightaway in order to get the 3rd MC out of the way. Perhaps not the healthiest of attitudes, it's only day 3 though I'm allowed to think like a freak for a bit.

VivClicquot · 14/04/2010 11:52

Morning everyone xxx

digitalgirl - hope you're doing okay, lovely.

jolls - it's my second acupuncture appointment at midday today. I definitely think something's working - got my first high on the CBFM this morning despite it only being D10 and (TMI) alert, am producing unholy amounts of cm. My only concern is that we've got BIL and SIL coming to stay at ours on Friday night, and at this rate, I have a feeling Friday and Saturday are going to be peak days... may have to resort to some illicit and very quiet SWI....

MrsG/Pretty, no way is that where you are now? That caused you all that grief and turmoil?? Shocking. Sorry to hear that. Businesses change of course over time, and as they grow (too big IMHO), and the L'Oreal thing will have adjusted the culture also. I joined as a Xmas Temp whilst a student, went into store management, managed Brighton (in the days when Anita would come in to cash a cheque on a Saturday....) and then 3 years in the Training Department. I hardly know anyone there now, a couple of bods in Littlehampton and now London, but probably no one in the stores I would imagine... I had it in my head you worked in fashion? I do remember the benefits were always good for retail... loved the holiday!!!

Hi to all. 2nd acupuncture appointment tomorrow. Day 21 test to check progesterone level next week. No S(WorWO)I going on here... too darn pooped...

Tattiebyes.

Goodluckbear · 14/04/2010 10:37

Meant to say Digigirl - how are you today?

xx

Goodluckbear · 14/04/2010 10:31

MrsPretty - a non-chocolate prize, is there such a thing? Well done, you have done well, particularly not eating the bell. Did you take the foil off first though or would that have taken too much time?

WYG - I'm going to be stalking popping in lots still, still come here on autopilot when I get into work. I take it the trip over the pennines was just a day trip? Can't remember where in West Yorks you're from - I'm a Barnsley girl myself so not too far off.

Spots. I have a massive one on the end of my nose. There's no hiding it, so I'm accentuating it with makeup to make it an interesting "feature" on my face.

PrettyVacant1 · 13/04/2010 23:45

What's going on with this thread tonight?
I posted before and it didn't appear.

digigirl how are you holding up? Xx

Hello to BUnder, LadyBee and NBelle too, sorry you had to join but we're very nice if we do say so ourselves.

Happy so glad to hear things are good, I'll be thinking if you tomorrow.

Jolls not so much ex.
I'm bobbing on a bit and was 18 when you left.
They must have been " The good old days."

Cheepz I'll have to stop reading your posts whilst on public transport, a loud "Hmmmmm, Aaahhhhh" and nodding at my phone makes me look like a loon when alone on a packed bus.
You are quite right bout shifting focus.

I need a prize please
I finished my first Lindt bunny a second ago.
Didn't eat the bell though.
One down, one more and MrG's 1 egg to go.
Prize please.
Not chocolate .

randomimposter · 13/04/2010 21:19

Hi all
MrsG was there probably before you were even born... 1987-1997. Happy times.... Are you also ex TBS?

digital it's lovely your mum is coming to help you out and is so supportive... I know it's hard when people don't really understand the ins and outs of what we are going/have gone through. That's where we on here can help

Off to put flatpack furniture together. OOOO the excitement ... x

clareanna · 13/04/2010 20:51

Hi- has this thread disappeared from the conception boards? Couldn't find it on there ?

Wyg- urggh spots are the worst, still haven't got rid of mine from last cycle

WestYorkshireGirl · 13/04/2010 20:42

Evening ladies, I hope everyone is doing OK.

Digitalgirl Hope you are OK and resting?

GLB Great to see you on the Grads list - will you be leaving us is sticking around for a bit?

Ladybee I was responding to Cheepz as she was asking whether to SWI with/without precautions as she didn't want to get PG. I said I would def recommend SWI with no precautions!

Anyone done anything interesting today? I went to a conference in Liverpool and it was really interesting and in a great location.

No more queasy feelings for me and too early to test - need to wait to CD 37/38. Wondering if it was all a coincidence and to cap it all off, I have a spectacular eruption of spots which is a bit rubbish.

clareanna · 13/04/2010 20:35

Digitalgirl- hope you are ok

Freezingmyarseoff · 13/04/2010 20:07

Oh digitalgirl, I didn't quite realise that you were in the middle of miscarrying. Hope you have lots of RL support, and people taking care of you.

Thanks GLB for the explanations. I quite like the RTD expression!

clareanna · 13/04/2010 19:54

Am now adding fortnums to the list...

wannabeamum · 13/04/2010 17:56

Digital girl I'm so sorry to hear your having a pants time of it. Try to look after yourself - you are very brave.

I did do a long post earlier, but somehow it never posted! The short story us that clearly the pt came in a pack of two and of course I did the second this am - to the same bfn - Im a sadist! On phone now so will wave to everyone- hope all are doing ok in the sunshine today xx

PrettyVacant1 · 13/04/2010 17:05

Hi all , in work on stoopid phone so I'll catch up properly later.
sorry for not name checking.

Jolls how long ago did you work for TBS?

digitalgirl · 13/04/2010 16:13

Congrats on your BFP goodluckbear can totally understand the trepidation at graduating.

Despite it being very obvious that I am miscarrying today I think I'll wait for my HCG blood test tomorrow before adding my stats to the list.

I also think I'll wait till the bleeding stops (probably in a couple of weeks) before deciding what to do next. Part of me would love to get pregnant again so quickly. But another part of me is wondering whether I should get my long cycles investigated first in order to minimise the risk next time. Perhaps a GP appointment first though.

Goodluckbear · 13/04/2010 16:02

Hi guys,

Thought I'd have a crack at doing the list, partly because I have given myself a talking to re: PMA (yes, positive mental attitude, just like in those adverts) so moving to grads. But someone clever (Cheepz, Viv??) can you check I did it ok??!?

(P.S. *Freezing - RTD is "red tide of doom", i.e. your period, 2WW is the 2 week wait, i.e. the average wait from ovulation to period/BFP...)

NBelle and Digital, glad you came here, sorry about your mc and everything you're going through. Would you like your stats putting on the list? BUnderBonnet - I've put you on at the bottom if that looks ok?

Hippy - I've taken you off but please come and say hi sometimes!!

Cheepz · 13/04/2010 13:42

clare or marks and spencers maybe??

Have clearly baffled CBFM, will keep trucking with it - but ignore it as giving any indication until have next AF

I did use it straight away after Jan mc and got pg in Feb - but that was a very earlt mc so no HCG issues and timescales for recovery much faster...

am nearly ready for my 4 o'clock, just need to add a few more smart comments, spellcheck and check I haven't typed any umsnet post inadvertantly into my framework document!!! its happened before!

Gi1da · 13/04/2010 13:06

Clareanna better to nick one from Waitrose surely?

Quick hellos to all!

clareanna · 13/04/2010 12:44

Moo the CBFM is obviously meant to confuse and puzzle - go for it tiger!

clareanna · 13/04/2010 12:43

cheepz the CBFM advice says not to use the monitor straight after an MC - "If you have recently been pregnant (even if not carried to full term) I?d advise you to wait until you?ve had at least two natural menstrual cycles in a row (each lasting 21-42 days) before using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. This is to ensure that you get accurate readings that are not affected by any hCG you may still have in your body just after pregnancy" I think you may have baffled its' brian.

digitalgirl - I had 2 weeks off work after my MMC at 12 weeks - I found my emotions were really quite volatile and i was prone to crying quite randomly, and didn't want that to happen in front of my team. Take Care and as much time as you need to feel a bit stronger emotionally.

Viv - how's the forehead? is it klingon like? hope you got home safe and sound?

I am a bit furious today. DH has been behaving in rather a coy fashion since discovering the CBFM. On mentioning this this morning (there has been hardly ANY action this month) he said "well, we wouldn't want a baby in January anyway" argh - yes we do want a baby - any baby as soon as poss in my opinion! (although obviously not planning to nick one from Tesco.
[gives self stern talking to] relax, breathe, enjoy life, it's fine if it doesn't happen this month...

Freezingmyarseoff · 13/04/2010 12:37

cheepz are you also have your hcg levels tested by the epu or gp? I read that HCG can be used to induce ovulation, but they give 5-10K IU, and since your HCG are dropping I wouldn't expect you've ovulated, what do I know? Perhaps its just the WTF cycle messing with the monitor.
If you're waiting for a while before trying again, maybe just skip the CBFM for a while - but then I don't know if you're meant to keep doing it everyday simply to keep track of things

digital sorry you're here. I've also had 2 MC's (close together) and don't know where I'm at. Some days I feel really ANGRY, and other days just completely normal, and then think I must be some kind of cold-blooded robot because I don't think about it at all. I think it's a very good idea for you to take the week off work

I keep meaning to post but then get scared because it's so busy and I don't want to miss anyone out because I can't keep up so I'll start with a wave to everyone. and then try to keep up a bit more each day.

Almost forgot, can someone tell me what RTD and 2WW mean?

Cheepz · 13/04/2010 11:27

confused

did preg test last night to see about hcg levels dropping and its still showing positive but cbfm is stil showing peak?!! i am pretty sure its not possible to ovulate while hcg levels are still high enough to show positive which would mean i am jsut confusing my fertility monitor anyone know anything about when you can ovulate relative to hcg levels going?!

digital you are doing so well, it took me forever to even get past desparation to be pregnant asap

jolls we are on the same path!

viv take care today eh?! no waling under ladders

ladybee glad work went ok - i am finding work a welcome distraction

right - have big meeting with boss later and need to stop procrastinating! x

VivClicquot · 13/04/2010 09:29

Morning lovelies

Golly, a lot to catch up on - especially with my still sore head!

hippy - good luck with everything honey and don't be a stranger

malteser - I know it's easier said than done but do try and remain positive. I'll keep everything crossed that all is okay.

bunder and digital - I'm sorry you're here but glad you've found us.

Also to nbelle - I have a colleague who is (I think) about to embark on her third cycle of IVF so know how difficult it is. I hope you and Dh are bearing up okay.

moofold - On my first cycle of using the CBFM, I had seven highs before getting my first peak on D18. Then on my second cycle, I only had two highs before peaking on D14. Interestingly, my first high on both cycles was D11, so am wondering whether it will be the same this month.

A big wave to everyone else - hope everyone's doing okay

Much love
Viv xxx

Ladybee yes, I do hope that no-one else from there has to join us. I had the last due date so, morbidly, odds are most people who would have mc'ed have done so now.

cheepz everything you say makes sense. I'm still going through through the stages, you can almost track them through my MN posts. But am sure once I reach acceptance of this i'll do as all you strong women on here have done, I'll just keep going.

Have decided to take the rest of the week off work despite the pain not really being that bad.

My mother is on her way to help look after DS. I'm going to have to explain that 'no, its nothing I did'; 'no, positive thinking will not stop this from happening right now'; 'the doctors can't do anything to save the baby, because there is no baby'. My mother is wonderfully supportive, but doesn't understand the technicalities of pregnancy or miscarriage.
