So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

wannabeamum really sorry rtd got you, you will be a mum!

wannabeamum · 15/04/2010 12:11

RTD bloody got me, am so upset. Thought I was ok but clearly not. Aaarrggghhh just want my baby.

That's it. I'm done. Sorry.

BunnyBaby · 15/04/2010 11:03

cheepz we're aiming for potty training but DS is a secret pooer who won't own up. He is also proud of ablutions declaring to all and sundry 'i did enormous sick on da carpet!' recently.

laf welcome we're a lovely bunch

prettyvacant good luck for today

my work pal who went for scan following ivf yesterday showed me lovely pics of 11+2 baby. So pleased for her that it worked out but still wondering to myself how hers was all fine when my DS2 died at that exact point.

My boobs are huge and sore like rocks which makes it more likely I did ovulate at day 11 and implant at 18 though I'm hopelessly symptom spotting. Fingers crossed eh? Also feel slightly guilty if pg again that new baby is taking space of DS2l. Though mustn't think like that as I also have DS1 who was there too

Goodluckbear · 15/04/2010 11:01

Ah Clare - shit day. Big hugs for you. Hope the posh coffee is nice and warming in both body and soul. Come back and download some more later?

LAF welcome, sorry to hear about your mc and glad you found this thread, it's been a lifeline. I echo that feeling of it being nice to know that there are lots of ladies like us out there!

Cheepz your little boy is ADORABLE. Did snort tea out of my nose reading that though.

Spot as spread, looks like two spots on nose but I'm pretty sure it's only one. I haven't named it yet as I haven't decided what it looks like yet, plus if it is twins it'll need two names. Almost like a second nose now.

Just popping on from work illegally as my email has crashed.

having a surprisingly bad day today. It is exactly 3 months ago that I had my ERPC, so I'm now been not pregnant for as long as i was pregnant IYKWIM. When I realised this milestone was approaching I felt really positive, about the future and embracing my current life and family. But today all i want to do is cry
DH is in a completely different place to me, feels that we can still choose when we have next baby and therefore let's skip this month,so we don't have a new year's eve baby and that it will happen when we want it to. (conceived DS v easily, and last pg in first month of trying) I just don't have that confidence anymore that it will ever be easy, We've been trying since the MC and nothing's happened, a fact which seems to have passed him by. His relaxed approach is really upsetting me. We discussed it last night and I respect his view and thoughts on timing and being relaxed and positive (he was made redundant the week after the MC so there are added stresses around having another one) but sometimes it's soo hard.

Right, self indulgent pity rant over. Will go and have a posh coffee to cheer myself up.
Will pop back on later for proper catch up - thank you for letting me download somewhere- saved me from being a sobbing mess at my desk

PrettyVacant1 · 15/04/2010 08:57

Morning all.

I'm starting at my new store today, doing a late so I'm not in till 11.30.
I've got an hour to waste spare before I must shift and make myself look preetty and presentable.
I don't think that coming on MN is a good idea though
I can see me having to do my face on the train.
I have no shame.

Hi LAF. So sorry to see your news but as you said we can understand what you're going through and this really is a great place for advice and support.

Cheepz oh dear, poor "wee" man.
Bless 'im.
Also made me
(in my inside voice this time)
when I read your post about all the successes on this fred.
Thank you.

GLB I was wondering why my fillings smarted, I am of the opinion that taking the foil off merely slows the whole process down somewhat.
Howz the zit? Have you named it yet?
at digi's suggestion about the little face.

LadyB did you enjoy the pics?
See anything good?

Jolls I have been to H/O and trained a bunch of RM's on the new Make up.
I was this close to meeting Anita as she supposed to have been there but she had a last minute change of schedule.
She still is one of my heros.
Met Chase though.

Off to a top 40 for 3 months to shadow an excellent manager who's been there donkeys years. You would have heard of her.
Looking forward to it

It'll be fine, I'll keep plodding on, and jump through hoops when asked.
I'm going to set fire to the hoops too so they can see how good I am.

Hello everybody peeps to everyone else.
< manic waving >

Right... I'm going to have some brekkie a large coffee and phone Sheffield to demand my baybee.

Have a super day and wish me luck!

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xx

Cheepz your little one, what a wee soul! He'll be grand tomorrow.

Clare here's hoping your peak has arrived then, might be a nice surprise for you in the morning from the CBFM.

Hello LAF sorry to hear your news, take good care of yourself. Hope you find this useful, I found the company here great support in those early days - still do!

Gi1da my God you are good, how on earth did you remember all those namechecks? Photographic memory?

wannabeamum · 14/04/2010 21:26

Cheepz - that story made me laugh out loud - almost like the more pants you give him the more he will wee!! Love it.

Nbelle - you poor thing, don't push yourself too hard to keep being normal- but I salute you being so brave.

Laf - hello, I'm so sorry you are here. I mc our first baby in feb and I can say it has got better - although now I'm obsessed with being preg again, possibly a bit too obsessed but what can you do?! My 2ww is almost over and I can feel the cramps are comi g soon, so will have to swi next month!! Poor dh!!

Hi to everyone else - big hugs- no wine thi k I'm overdoing it, maybe a pot of tea to share instead? X

NBelle · 14/04/2010 21:08

Bleeding is getting heavier now and I am also having quite bad cramps now, basically this is what i expected at the weekend, I had to take a suppositary (sp?) on Friday to start the process off. I think everything is ok just a bit delayed, still not as bad as it could be I suppose.

Freezing that was good advice from your friend, i like that and i think your right it's just my way of coping just now.

Viv I agree that work is a distraction just now, don't think the best thing for me would to be at home as i would just dwell on it and fortunately i feel well enough physically to be in work. At work we are just coming into a quieter time so at least i am not stressed at work. My colleagues are still realtively new so I still get alot of questions etc so I guess in a way I am probably convincing myself i am needed at work....as at least i can get that right, not like this TTC lark!

Cheepz Good luck with the potty training your story made me smile

Gi1da · 14/04/2010 20:39

Cheepz "look mummy i weed in all my pants" that is just THE cutest! What a poppet! Can I hug him? Can I? Promise to give him back.

Gi1da · 14/04/2010 20:36

Hello lovely ladles! (sic)

Sorry not been around much, have been a bit paranoid about logging on at work. Roll on Friday work at home day! Apologies in advance for anyone I've missed, there are so many of us, but just as many on the grads list so that's ok!

Cheepz, Viv special gin cocktails for you both. Cos you're fab. Wiv umbrellas and evryfink.

NBelle just keep an eye on yourself, if you need a break in a little while, take it. Its a hell of a lot to go through and your hormones will be all over the place. Surprise tears / rants / hysteria / good days / bad days all part of the package.

BUnderB you look after yourself too, and take all the time that feels right for you. A supplement might also help you feel stronger, Floradix is really good (Gin is better).

Digi hope its all going ok. Special gin for you too. And yer mum.

GLB imagining you wearing a Red Nose Day nose to mask spot. Vodka I tell you (on spot not down neck!)

Jolls Enjoy the acupuncture. I really do think it makes a difference. Here's hoping it works for you.

WestYorks joining you on the crazy train. Good luck!

Malteser did I imagine it or did you sneak in a BFP?

Urd best wishes to you.

Scotch how's it hanging up there at the top? Elm, LadyBee Hi!

Freezing hang in there. Ocado you likey? Have been toying with the idea since I now have a garden and can't be arsed to spend my precious weekend food shopping.

Moof waves cheerleader pompoms - Give us an S give us a W give us a I. SHAGGING!!! Redhead - good heavens what a fascinating job! Would love to hear more also.

PrettyMrsG glad work got a bit more sorted. Less stress = less comfort food = lindt bunnies breathing huge sigh of relief. Did you start hassling Sheffield about getting on with things?

Allthe8s Fingers crossed for you.

Clare motivate yourself by thinking how fit you'll need to be to swipe baby from outside Fortnums and leg it!

As for me, I am living in fear of imminent Rusty Hag, and feeling pretty low. I've only ever done a pair of pg tests once, (for this last pg/mc). I can't bear the thought of doing one and seeing "You are SOOOO not pregnant you FOOL".

I have an acupuncture appt next Thursday morning so if no RTD by then (which I doubt) I will test just to make sure before needles. I'm back to feeling like it will never happen (3 years no contraception before this). Moved house, had sex once, got pg. This cycle had more sex in a week than in previous 3 months, but I just don't feel like it could possibly happen. Bit like winning the lottery. I am getting twinges, but have no idea if that's how I felt last time as it never occurred to me at the time that I might possibly be duffed. Ho hum

LAF So very sorry. Hope you have lots of support in real life, and there's all of us here.

LAF77 · 14/04/2010 20:23

Hello, sadly I mc on Friday at 8 weeks. It was my first pregnancy. I had a scan with the EPU and they confirmed that the embryo is gone. I have been advised to wait for 1-2 cycles before trying again. The scan picked up a fibroid but it is apparently away from the "business end" of the uterus. I'm going to talk to my doctor about what to do about the fibroid and trying to get pregnant again.

It's nice to know that there are others feeling the same as I do right now.

Cheepz · 14/04/2010 20:10

four - 3 wet pairs and a brown pair [grimface}, i got to nursery and he said, look mummy i weed in all my pants - I had to explain that wasn't the main objective!! bribary tomorrow, if he comes home in the same trousers he gets a prize!

LadyBee · 14/04/2010 19:38

Hi all, I'm off to the cinema tonight, not sure what I'm going to see, got invited out and it's been so long since I've been to our local picturehouse I didn't care what it was we were going to see

Have read all the posts but no time to respond individually. But I did find the observation about all the graduates really positive and encouraging. I think I'm gradually acknowledging to myself that getting pg again straight away might not necessarily be the right thing, or an easy thing. Which is a bit of a step forward I think.

Digitalgirl I think that thought about getting the 3rd MC out the way is completely understandable. Had a long phone call last night with a friend who had 2 MMC in a row and she felt exactly the same about her subsequent pregnancy. Especially, seeing her cousin had 5 MC in a row and was diagnosed with something (not sure what, she now has a DC). She's 32 weeks pg at the moment but this pg has been an enormous mental struggle for her.

clareanna · 14/04/2010 19:27

am supposed to be going straight to the gym after work tonight, but have decided to pop on here to procrastinate before the huffing begins...

Cheepz - what a lovely thought - here's to you and viv and lots of sticky babydust for the future

viv - think that CD may have had me in uncontrollable giggles - look in to my eyes, not around the eyes etc!

moo - oooh v exciting - I'm still on the highs - now 9 days in a row - which is just as well as haven't actually managed any proper action in that time - argh. Forgot to take stick out of monitor this morning, but by dates it should be a peak for me today (if i have a 14 day luteal phase). This cycle is definitely feeling more "normal" than the last few so fingers crossed!

MrsG NO MORE CHOCCIE - ARGH!

NBelle I remember feeling robot like for a good 5 days, then it really hit me and i couldn't stop crying - think there is definitely some delayed shock reaction you can get.

Cheepz (again) although devastated by my MMC, i did rather enjoy being off work, shopping, seeing my NCT gang and being a SAHM for a bit (albeit a slightly crazed one)

Allthe8s let the symptom spotting begin! good luck to you x

Right this update has wasted me a good 15 mins - can't put it off any longer, gym here i come...

Allthe8s · 14/04/2010 18:47

Hi ladies hope you are all well, have had a nice day with the kids at the farm......glad its wednesday, have finished work for the week and its downhill to the weekend and the end of the 2ww.........spent the last 2 days blubbing uncontrollably at any given point and have had a lump in my throat all the time.....(def hormonal) and have had the old stretchy cramps on and off for a week......who knows......

Hope DS did well at nursery Cheepz today

Redhead that sounds really interesting........I would like to hear more.

Glad your needles went well today Viv. Joll how did you get on?

Freezing that makes perfect sense to me.

Bunder I know that feeling...it gets better just take it as slow as you need. NBelle & Digitalgirl how are you feeling?

Apologies for shortening your names, I am shattered, need to go food shopping too bore me.....big hi to everyone else hope you are all well xxx

Redheadgal · 14/04/2010 17:27

Cheepz - I concur with Moo - what a wonderful and uplifting optimist you are. Thank you.

NBelle - dunno about returning to work. As I work from home I didn't tell anyone at 'work' about my miscarriage. There didn't seem much point and as an academic I have pretty flexible hours. The big problem was (and still is) I have to write a paper about medieval fertility miracles! So am spending my days translating accounts of 12th century miscarriages. Not really what you need, but it's oddly comforting reading about experiences written down 800 years ago. Miscarriage isn't something that's just happened to me IYSWIM.

Cheepz · 14/04/2010 16:57

warm welcoming womb lmao - was considering zita west clinic but its sounding a little biit la la land for me

sorry bout outing you viv but i thought at least everyone else would feel better!! and I am still here too - two additional failed pregnancies later, my womb is clearly not warm and welcoming enough!!

meant to say digital and anyone else for that matter - if you want the immune system tests you might as well find a clinic that does then after first or second mc as the NHS won't do them! no point in waiting there.

I have done still no work, but I have posted a blog and played solitaire for 45 mins..... off to get DS shortly, was his first day at nursery in pants, I wonder how many wet pairs of pants and trousers I will be bringing home!

Moofold · 14/04/2010 15:57

Hello, thought I would whack on a list since there wasn't one there (cue for at least 3 others to have the same idea at the same time).

To the CBFM crew I got 4 highs followed by 2 peaks last few days so have been taking action

Nbelle i went back 3 weeks after ERPC but that included the christmas hols. I actually found being backed helped initially because left alone I would spend the entire time greetin. However, just watch out that you are still letting yourself grieve and think about what happened. I think I dove into work at the expense of those feelings and it all caught up on me eventually with unpleasant consequences.

Cheepz that's a lovely thought about all those that have passed through here. You are an almighty optimist lady! Its great.

ok,I'll paste the list. Who will we be egging to test soon, G1lda, WYG - anyone else about close to the top?

Bloody hell Cheepz, that makes me feel old. In fact, I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Acupuncture went well - bizarrely, while she was doing the treatment, my therapist put on the Zita West CD that's aimed at women who are awaiting egg implantation via IVF. Apparently, that was the most appropriate one she had to hand that relates to me being mid-cyle, so now I'm very zen-like and imagining my womb as a "warm, welcoming, healthy haven for my embryo"

nbelle - I was also back at work within days of my two losses, but that's very much my way of 'coping'. I couldn't bear the thought of sitting on my sofa for a week as I knew all I would do is cry, so I found coming to work actually helped me deal with my grief. I appreciate it's a very personal thing though, so don't be too hard on yourself xx

OP posts:
Cheepz · 14/04/2010 15:21

NBelle can't remember if you had erpc or if its all happening naturally, but i ams till having some dark dc and my erpc was two weeks ago tomorrow, i had 2 days heacy, then nothing for a day or 2, then more heavy bleeding for about 4 or 5 days, some fresh, some dark and now for the last 5 or 6 days its just been dark, although some days more than others - more when i am up and down alot at work, or on the treadmill. Agree tha finding something else to focus on like shedding a few pounds is good not least because it is something you can actually control. Going back to work right away is what I did the first two times, when all was happening naturally, this time around I took a week off, mostly to eat paninis and drink coffee, you might crash emotionally at some point and thats ok, or you might not, it takes us all in different ways

digital i was just like that with third pregnancy, waiting for mc and then can get tests - which i can now, but now i am thinking they are not going to show anything! At 31 you should not have anything to worry about egg wise! Push your GP to try and get the sticky blood tests now you have had two - they won't do all the chromosomal stuff but they can do those, they also won't do any of the immune system tests on NHS so if you want to look into that you have to go private, its pricey, but they will test you for the 'bad cells' and if you have them then you can get an NHS referral for the treatment!

prettyv i hope this has caused much ooohing andd ahhhing on the train

so far today i have bunked off work, had a haircut, done an hour in our gym, got the laundry on (since we are away on the weekend - woot woot), updated my linked in profile and done no work at all - yay another productive day working from home, think i might get a coffee and then tidy up my CV to go for this new job, what is wrong with me? I haven't felt this upbeat in ages!! Sometimes I really dont get where I am coming from

passing on happy good calming vibes to everyone - heres some good news - well for everyone except me and viv, everyone else who was on the very first thread last August is now on the grads .. or has departed once they got pregnant and not gone to the grads - thats people with PCOS, genetic problems, blood problems and some not spring chickens, so thats good isn't it!!! And three have had babies so far... so thats great because the threads only been going 10 months. We will all get to the devil in our own way, and then complain bitterly about sore cracked nipples and sleepless nights and how our DH / DP's do f*ck all while we have to do everything

right, coffee anyone?

BUnderTheBonnet · 14/04/2010 14:34

Crikey NBelle I don't think I can face work next week, let alone this week. I still feel awful pysically, and can't stand up for more than 10 mins without feeling faint, and flights of stairs have to be done in two sections with a rest inbetween. Maybe I'm subconciously prolonging all the physical stuff so I don't have to face people though...

Freezingmyarseoff · 14/04/2010 14:27

NBelle I had on and off bleeding for about 10 days after the main part of the heavy bleeding. Just as I thought it had stopped, it started again and this happened about 3 times, so I think it's quite normal. I spoke to the doctor about it when i went back for my blood test last week, and he said if it's like the end of period then not to worry but if a bit more than the end of a period, then he would check it out. So I would say, sounds fairly normal but if you have any concerns then get in touch with the EPU or GP just to be sure.

I also feel abit like a robot about the whole thing, but then a good friend pointed out that the body and mind is amazing at dealing with things. It's probably a safety mechanism, in that you (or I) are not ready to deal with it now, so the mind has shut it out until we're ready to deal with it.
