So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

Morning all. Thank you everyone for lovely congratulations. Of course I feel a bit guilty as I know its a bittersweet moment, we all deserve the same, and I know I queue jumped a bit.

I feel very relaxed this time. I know a + does not necessarily a baybee make, but my rollercoaster experiences this year have taught me that what will be will be and I may as well keep calm and deal with crap if and when it happens and not before.

MrsPretty thinking of you today.

Cheepz congrats on the house!!! We moved last October and its was a nail biting finish. I am never moving again unless I am miraculously so rich that I don't need to sell this house when buying the next. Chances eh?

Jolls good luck with your house too, and with the job stuff. You are so bound to get duffered just as it all goes into hyperdrive!

Viv keep going with the acupuncture, I am CONVINCED it helps!

Clarea LOVE the pom-poms! and Dark Horse Eights fingers crossed for you.

Digi hope things settle down for you this week. Lucy hi!, Freezing, Bunny, Dorcas, Teaser, Alba, Moof, Littlemiss, Yorks, Gonnabe and anyone I have missed sorry, I wish you all a happy, sunny day with a spring in your step.

VivClicquot · 20/04/2010 08:55

PrettyMrsG - Oh lovely, I am so utterly bummed for you and DH. I can't believe how shitty life can be at times. Really hope you get some answers from the hospital - I know that you'll be able to pick yourself up from this so be strong, my love x

clareanna - No WAY! I grew up in Matlock so know Cromford very very wel indeed. Had I known, I could have given you all sorts of hints and tips

Morning all x

The CBFM didn't explode in a fit of pique (geddit?! groan...) last night - it just gave me another peak and was done with it, and then back down to the usual high this morning (although the test stick still had two definite clear lines with the 'important' one slightly darker than the control line... )

DH and I did the deed before work yesterday morning (another reason why I forgot to pee on the stick - haha) but am now utterly paranoid that it wasn't enough and we should have done so again last night too.

Still, nothing I can do about it now - it's Day 1 of the 2WW so strap yourselves in ladies for some more surreptitious symptom spotting, all the while pretending that I'm doing nothing of the sort, honest guv...

Thanks for the acronyms clareanna! AF always sounded a bit too mumsy, I feel :-)

digitalgirl I am going to try a low-GI diet this month since I'm prob not pg - have got All Bran for brekkie

Scotchontherocks · 20/04/2010 03:13

Hi Ladies,

[creeps back into room with bottomless jug of Pimms to share around]

Been off not obsessing (yeah, right), but to no avail. Back on CD8 (well, looking at the time more like 9 - damn this insomnia!)

Sorry not to namecheck, but way, way too many posts to catch up with properly.

Hurrah for the BFP's and big hugs to those feeling as down as I do and worse.

Off to count some more sheep.....

digitalgirl · 19/04/2010 23:49

Wow, so much has happened in just two days.

Gi1da huge congratulations

malteaser hooray for reassurance

Lucy and dorca so sorry you've joined us, but do know that these ladies are amazing.

pretty bloody hell, that's shite. Really hope that you get the all clear soon (and for good).

cheepz how exciting about moving house! We're currently trying to squeeze my mum into our house...but I have dreams of doing the mother of all extensions to add another two bedrooms to the house. Or we could move. But that might actually be more expensive in this area.

Bleeding has almost completely subsided. Thought it might have stopped today, but I think it might drag on in a half-hearted way for the rest of the week. Am going to test on the weekend (as it'll be 2 weeks) to make sure that it's negative. Asked DH (who has returned, yay!) to buy me some pregnancy tests and he came back with ovulation tests . I don't usually bother with those as I've had false positives before...but now they're in the house I imagine I'll be tempted to use them.

Feels really odd to be thinking about ttc again. I do want to be pregnant again, but all the excitement of it has gone.

Got GP appointment tomorrow and DH is coming with me to back me up. I'm going to ask what kind of early ante-natal care I'll get if I get pg again. And ask to test me for PCOS. I eat far too much chocolate to be able to go on a low-GI diet. Anyway, am delirious with exhaustion, night all.

clareanna · 19/04/2010 23:04

AM not cam - geez - not even drinking tonight

clareanna · 19/04/2010 23:03

MrsPretty not sure why I cam telling you this - was meant in useful way for Dorcas and Lucy!
Doh

clareanna · 19/04/2010 23:02

helllloooo all! back from weekend away (viv - in Cromford) where I was made to do extreme cycling type activities.

WYG big hugs, totally understand how wrung out and tired of ttc you are feeling. Hope you get some answers on wed. Def change docs - a sympathetic doc can make all the difference.

cheepz glad spa break was magnifico, and fab news on the house sale - things are looking up!

malteser - so glad you got some reassurance today, and that you've found some great support - so chuffed for you

Gi1da - my flabber is gasted! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! how are you feeling?!

Alba and pollyanna glad you had a good relaxing break, lovely to hear from you

Muser not long now - hope you've got something special planned!!!

welcome to Dorcas and Lucysnowe -it's a tough tough journey after mc - hope we can help you through it

MrsPretty - I'm so sorry - what a total arse - hope MrG is giving you plenty of hugs
CD means Cycle Day.
RTD - Red Tide of Doom (more appropriate than AF!)
SWI - Shagging with Intent

Viv CBFM should be OK with a missed test - will prob ask you to test again tomorrow and will be a high. I had 2 peaks and one high before going back to low.

bunny well done on the weight loss and the warm spot in uterus - hope it means something good. FYI my reflexologist knew I was PG with DS before I did!

As for me - delighted to get peaks on CBFM as it shows my body is working again, after 2 cycles post MC of knowing I probably wasn't ovulating (no CM etc) It was worth the money just for that peace of mind. DH and I didn't act on the peaks, so I'm out of the action this month. Actually feel pretty good about it now, nice not to be going through the pressure of 2ww and I can get on with trying to lose some weight, without thinking, well I might be pg in a few weeks, so what's the point - might as well eat the cake.
So, this month I will be chief cheerleader in a Glee style, and encourager of POAS action (allthe8s - can't be long now?) before getting back to the crazy next month.

BunnyBaby · 19/04/2010 22:45

mrsprettyg really sorry to hear all that news, and you're always the chipper one keeping us amused with sausages and the like. Am happy to (bore) amuse you with my tales when you're ready to pop back. Hope they give you a better explanation soon and you can jump back on the bandwagon xxxx

lucysnowe · 19/04/2010 21:58

Thanks all for the welcomes. Good to read about some bfps and sorry to hear the bad news too. You are right, it's good to get support.

I would like to add my stats, if that's okay, but what does CD mean? I think I am

lucy snowe TTC#2 UCL 40+?? cycle 2

NB does anyone have PCOS and take metformin?

randomimposter · 19/04/2010 21:31

bejesus it's all happening... in NO particular order (thank you Dermot...)

Gilda.... whoop whoop WHOOP. So pleased for you. But beyond words too. My (usuallyD)P is a 27th Dec baby. Lovely time for babes...

malt1981 (please tell me that's not your DOB, you little cherub you!)... you must be so relieved - consultant sounds lovely. Chuffed you're getting such support.

MrsG so sorry on the setback - here's hoping it gets straightened out soon. You are a strong, assertive, positive woman (and touched by the pod..) - you WILL get through this. x

oooo Cheepzy get you with your in-house (ok garden) gym.... and you're leaving that for....? Millionaire's row? GET YOU me lovely! Delighted you had a fab break - you deserve it SO much.

viv hmmmm, interesting acu update - have another appt on Thursday - let's share notes!

welcome dorcas and lucy - sorry you're here but it DOES help.

Been welcoming (?) estate agents into my home today for valuations. Had forgotten how amusing they are... Have treated myself to some SB and G&B as a reward. Bugger there goes all the good intentions...

Love to all (sorry if I've missed anything else big).... off to pour another glass.

Moofold · 19/04/2010 21:22

I see everyone has been catching up from the quiet MN weekend! Allthe8s, you are made of strong stuff - the memorial must have been so hard but a nice way to remember your little ones. Fingers crossed you get a nice wee suprise soon x

Hello Dorcas and Lucy, welcome to the thread, hope you are coping alright through these early days. Dorcas I think almost all of us will tell you that getting pregnant again consumes you initially (and only marginally less now!) - what you are feeling is understandable. I felt pregnant for a while after and had started to show - which made it even harder to accept the baby was gone. As the others have said, it does get easier with time, I know it won't feel like that now though.

Great news Malteser about your scan. You can try and relax now and enjoy your pregnancy. I'm glad you took the plunge and got checked out.

Viv not been using my CBFM for long enough so no idea what will happen. You just HAVE to go for it just in case!

Glad you enjoyed your break Cheepz, hoping Polly's travel hell ends soon and Alba is healing nicely.

You sound in a bad way WYG. Some difficult decisions to make too by the sounds of it. Take your time and look after yourself x

Gi1da!! Bloody hell, that was a sneaky BFP. Hurrah! Goood on you pal. Here's to a really boring pg until Christmas.

Bunny you are putting me to shame with your dramatic weightloss. Wish i could get my act together, I seem to be going in the other direction sadly...

Oh fuck MrsPrettyG, just after getting your good news as well. What a shitty blow, that must be horrible to deal with and more bloody waiting. Like the others said, everyone is here for you if you can face staying on here. You and Mr PrettyG take good care of each other x

Well, I'm at the start of week 2 in my TWW and couldn't feel any less pregnant. I actually feel pre-menstrual but not even in a 'could be implantation pains' kind of way - if that makes any sense. I also fell apart watching Desperate Houswives of all things, when Lynette lost her baby and had that little sequence where she imagined what his life would have been like. Even DH had a wee greet. Its so hard because that's how we've always felt about losing our bean, that its just such a missed opportunity and a great wee soul that we'll never meet. So that made me miserable all weekend and reallly very low again. It never fails to amaze me how it can all come flooding back with the same intensity again. So I'm a big misery guts but trying to boot myself up the arse to get on with it and dry my eyes.

Hello to anyone else lurking about of an evening.

Gi1da · 19/04/2010 20:40

MrsPretty bugger bugger bugger. I really hope that new tests give you answers and although there may be a bit more waiting, this journey gets you your healthy baby in the end. You so very deserve it.

Freezingmyarseoff · 19/04/2010 20:19

Just want to add the messages PrettyVacant, so sorry that you've had this bad news.

Cheepz · 19/04/2010 19:19

PV xx nowt to say that'll do any good, hang in there, theres good times and theres rubbish times, you are in mid rubbish times, big girl love to you xx

malteser1981 · 19/04/2010 19:14

Gi1da, Gi1da, Gi1da! Woop woop!

Cheepz, good news. The best bit about moving is the snooping around houses whilst 'viewing'. Or am I alone in this?!

Allthe8's - fingers crossed.

Pretty - don't really know what to say. How devastating for you, but (and remember this is the new and improved postive Malteser)there might be some really useful information and advice given at the consultation that may help in the long run. In the meantime, have a drink, a large one, nobody deserves it more. xx

Muser · 19/04/2010 19:05

I'm really sorry to hear that PrettyVacant, big massive hugs to you.

Allthe8s · 19/04/2010 18:58

Oh Pretty I am so so bloody sorry, nothing anyone can say can make you feel better I know but we are all hear for you - please keep in touch don't stay away. Will keep my peepers on you on FB too xxx

Goodluckbear · 19/04/2010 18:24

Pretty - I'm so sorry. That's crushing news, it's really unfair. I know there are no platitudes at a time like this, hope you know we're all here for you and will be rooting for you to get the results you need from these tests.

Hope you are at home now and getting lots of hugs from MrPretty, thinking of you guys.

xxxxx

Hey,

gi1da wow, reading the last few posts in a daze and nearly missed that.
I'm so pleased for you.

As Dorcus said congrats also for all the lovely news/house moves/weight loss.

I'm sorry, I need to go away for a bit.

LW Hospital rang and said they'd flagged futher results back from cytogenetics from mc in jan.
Ironically the Dr had just got back off Mat leave and checked my file as I was taking part in the NK cells study.

Something about a duplication of chromosome 22.
Dispite what Sheffield told me (seperate) I can't try again and I have to go in for futher tests tomorrow.

Of course today I have tons of EWCM to boot and was planning my damned hardest to do it this month.

No point getting hysterical till I get results but I'm thinking what else can fucking be wrong with me.
All I've ever wanted is to have a baby.

I feel sick

Sorry for lowering the mood

Goodluckbear · 19/04/2010 17:19

Hi guys - popped in to snoop catch up - congrats Gilda!! OMG, that was THE BEST way to drop that in, right at the end of the post, I did the best comedy double-take. Brilliant!!

Good news on the scan Malteaser - I am having one in two weeks to see if there is a heartbeat then (will be over 7 weeks then) and I think it's really good that they offer these things, I am hoping for reassurance then. (I know they don't offer it everywhere, so I also know I'm really lucky to get an early scan).

WYG - nice doctor needed, I wish you could have the one I saw on Friday, she was super nice. I don't think it's just that he's not saying what you want to hear - you need a supportive one, you deserve it too. Hope you feel better soon, being ill on top of everything is just shit.

Welcome to Dorcas and Lucy, sorry you had to come here, but these ladies are the best.

Muser yay to month 3, nearly there!!

Cheepz - fantastic house news!! That is so exciting, and no chain is really good (we are in crap chain) - soon it will be new job AND new house AND up the duff!!

Hi to everyone else, sorry not to namecheck, but waving like mad to all of you.

xxx

dorcas111 · 19/04/2010 16:57

Thank you for the lovely welcome and kind words everyone. I keep telling myself that the negative result is better, at least for my sanity, and it's good my body seems to be recovering etc... but seeing the empty window on the test stick has hit me harder than I thought it would. I feel very down now. I still have a drawer full of positive results from last month which I can't bear to throw away. Oh well, I think I will have to chalk up today as one of the Bad Days and hope tomorrow is brighter. I was trying to get some work done in the garden but all I could hear was my neighbour and her friend playing with their babies... retreated back inside before I collapsed into a sniveling heap! I do think I may be going a little demented- if I'm not thinking about the mc then I'm thinking about getting pregnant. I am driving myself insane!
Congratulations all those of you with good news- about babies, 5 pounds, selling houses and whatever other lovely things have happened to you this week.

Cheepz · 19/04/2010 16:14

we have agreed a price... we are moving and no chain anywhere so we could be moving soon!! eeek and big excitement too, would be better commute if take job move too, love it when a plan comes together, now just need to hold out for a few months then get royally preggers once moved and in new job - although might just try in the interim just in case

allthe8s dark horse - watching and waiting

bunny 5 pounds - thats more exciting than Gilds BFP - well not quite but its bloody good - go you! and top job on the managing the prego lady in the pool - more powers to you

i can't focus on anything because we are moving hurrrrahhhhh

VivClicquot · 19/04/2010 15:35

Bloody hell G1lda, love - way to casually drop that into the end of a conversation . Seriously, that is bloody fab news.

allthe8s - I'm keeping my eye on you, missus...

And hi lucy - sorry you've had to find us but welcome to our lovely home
