So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

gils was not blessed in the norkage department so would not be much of a selling point so pins a go go for me - just snuck out and bought killer new dress suit from next - which is really reasonable for work stuff! and have my outfit ready, agree with % of body showing at any one time - apparently once you are in late 30s its should always be 2 thirds covered, one third out ... took this approach at christmas party with long sleeve, high neck uber short dress which was abit of a show stopper, nice to feel glamerous on the outside when you have bags of stuff going on on the inside...

magic8 sorry bout that babe, its like snakes and ladders

alba off coffee would be a sure fire 'hot' symptom on 2ww for me so can imagine thats pretty exciting

viv wot no symptom spotting - are you not spotty, tired, thirsty, craving with tingly boobs and wierd cm? i am on day 22 post erpc and on 2ww for RTD - i reckon it will be 35 days post erpc - shall we run a sweepstake?

linda welcome, sounds like you are at a hard place in a hard time, we all understand as we are all at various stages of recovery / acceptance / progress in terms of the whole ttc and miscarriage business, seems like you have a bunch of worries - share and lets see if we can help you work through them, problem shared and all that

dorcas if this was your first miscarriage which I recall it was I think I wallowed for 3 months before I got past the being desprate to be preg again asap, then I was just panicking about not getting preg again, by second mc 7 cycles later i was just relieved to have got pregnant again, and now after third i just feel like why do i have to be one of the 1% of women who has 3 in a row, but at the same time I am more confident I will get pregnant again and have another baby eventually but perhaps now with more acceptance i might have more mc's first!

hang in there

lovely day in the sun

Goodluckbear · 22/04/2010 11:48

Oh man, Dorcas - this is the place to rant, you rant away and let it all out. And feeling like this after 4 weeks sounds normal I think, I think I felt physically low for about 6 weeks (and emotionally low even longer).

Linda - sounds like you are really going through it, glad you have found this thread, lots of lovely ladies here to support you in whatever decisions you need to make.

I just popped in because I've been lurking for news of PrettyMrsG - so have come to give a big wave, really glad to see you here. Will keep stalking you watching out over next couple of weeks for your results, fingers all crossed here.

And a big wave to everyone else!! Cheepz - show us your legs!!

dorcas111 · 22/04/2010 11:29

Okay, I don't think I'm dealing with things very well. So I went out and got very drunk last night and now feel like a total idiot. As well as feeling utterly miserable about life, I am now hungover and miserable. It is 4 weeks today since I started miscarrying- shouldn't I be starting to feel better? I think getting the negative test result on Monday has made it really hit home that I lost the baby. Up till then I'm not sure it had sunk in.
Sorry for being a miserable cow, you all seem so positive and I'm sorry for my self-indulgent ranting, I just needed to get it out.
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the sunshine.
Lindalinda, sorry for what you you've been through- maybe waiting three months will give you time to decide whether to TTC again or not, rather than try and make a decision now. Although I know that feeling of desperately wanting to be pregnant again, it is so hard, take care of yourself x x

Alba magic 8 balls says (no joke here) "You will have to wait"

Redheadgal · 22/04/2010 10:00

Definitely agree re. beaver Another vote here for skirt.

Love the fine-dining wascally wabbits.

Welcome Margie - sorry that you're here, but it's a supportive place to be.

Am with you in waiting for the post-mc RTD. Where the hell is it and when am I going to get back to normal? Grrrr!

Sorry for not name checking, but pressed for time today. Will catch up later on.

Have a good day all! xx

AlbaDeTamble · 22/04/2010 09:50

my coffee tastes really really horrid... and I really really need it after DS woke me at 12, 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6am last night.....

quietly excited (about the horrid tasting coffee, not the sleepless night).

Can't tell on the sore boobs front though, sore rib has been overshadowing everything else, and making it pretty tough to get back to sleep each time DS has decided he's awake and scared of the scary monsters in his bedroom. I think it's actually the scary back molars, the magic pink potion has helped a little, but not enough!

(that's a yawn today)

Can you ask the magic 8 ball for me please, allthe8s?? I'm being good and keeping away from the pesky sticks....

Good luck with the interview Cheepz, I'd wear whatever makes you feel more confident.

And good luck with the long day Viv, rather you than me, the way I'm feeling this morning I'll be lucky to stay awake till lunchtime.

Given that the coffee is horrid, I guess it'll have to be chocolate

VivClicquot · 22/04/2010 09:32

ps G1lda - as I scrolled quickly down the page then, I thought your advice to cheepz was: "I'd say get the legs out but keep the beaver covered"

VivClicquot · 22/04/2010 09:25

Hahahaha loving the Magic 8 Ball

Morning everyone, and a special hi to margie.

3dpo here and I'm beyond bored of the 2ww already.

Work-wise, I fear today could be a busy one as I've come in to find the company I work for is namechecked in amongst the "Nick Clegg is worse than Hitler" press coverage, so the press office phones could be busy. Plus I've got to go to an awards dinner tonight so it's going to be a loooooong day.

Cheepz - I HATE trouser suits, so it wouldn't be a question for me. A skirt all the way...

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 22/04/2010 09:00

magic 8 balls says "who knows".............!!!!!!!

Allthe8s · 22/04/2010 08:56

staying at the bottom on the list - no idea what that was all about......body obviously thought I needed some more fucking torment and dragged it out for a few days before it kicked in. Anyhooooooo! At least I can go back to normal now and stop manically worrying about lifting the kids, dragging the double buggy in and out the house or even breathing in case it causes a fricking miscarriage! I am dreading being pregnant again (well if I am lucky enough to fall again!!!!), it terrifies me, I think I will have to give up work and sleep for 9 months.

Sorry for self indulge - I will be back later to name check I promise xxxx

Off to look into Magic 8 ball for the answers...............

Cheepzy ditto wot the Gi1dster said on assets. GOOD LUCK!

Gi1da good stuff on the gloves - teeny tiny risk I'm sure, but better to be safe. Also my hands are suffering so much at the mo, they look like 60year old hands. Terrible. Really must wear gloves. Oh and actually APPLY hand cream. Not just think product bought, on shelf, job done. Ditto eye cream, body scrub, body lotion repeat ad infinitum....

MrsG you have as many dramatics as you want me lovely. That's what we is here for.

Hi to all. Another lovely day on the coast. Reminds me of that line in White Mischief, when Greta Scacchi looks out on the idyllic African landscape, and sighs, "oh god, not another fucking beautiful day..."

Gi1da · 22/04/2010 06:49

Cheepz I'd say get the legs out but keep cleavage covered, not that I'm suggesting you'd flash your norks to get the job, just working on the theory that you only show one asset at a time. If trouser suit, then norkage a go-go!

Moof not high on the symptom front but a couple of indicators. More CM than usual. Dry mouth and raging thirst for water - this is very unusual for me. I drink water with the same enthusiasm a slug has a salty gargle. Only 4w4 so nothing else to report. I didn't have many symptoms before, apart from definite boobness, and wondered if it was a problem but my mum said that the only thing she ever had was a sudden aversion to coffee.

Bunny re wabbits. I'd leave out some Thai fish paste, lemongrass and balsamic vinegar. They are clearly gastronomes and deserve respect (and it's a bugger to find decent ingredients in the hedgerows)!

malteser1981 · 21/04/2010 22:04

Westyorkshire - we are cut from the same cloth! PIL live in Beadnell and I'm from York but live up north now. Hope you had a well deserved relaxing time.

Pretty, I thought you were rather well composed. You have had more than your fair share of heartache so I have my fingers crossed that the consultation gives positive news.

Cheepz - get the legs out!!

digitalgirl · 21/04/2010 22:02

Welcome margie, so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. But you are in good hands on this thread. Lots of lovely ladies with plenty of sage advice and warm words.

This week is flying by for me. Still spotting a bit of brown but beginning to feel crampy again which makes me wonder if the regular cyclical hormone are firing up again. Way too soon to expect ov, am fully prepared for an anovulatory cycle before having a proper long old wait till my next egg hatches (37 day plus ucl).

No chance of even getting any swi practice as we're in the process of packing my mums stuff up every night. This weekend will be the main move. The following weekend will be repairs, decorating and cleaning. Then hopefully the weekend after that we can relaaaaax. Perhaps my first referral appointment will have come through by then.

Am extra busy at work. Can't complain as I'm now officially on a rolling contract so means more steady income (the holy grail of freelancing).

DS's daily and bedtime routine has been thrown out the window lately with all the upheaval so would dearly like to get some normality back for his sake.

Basically life is doing it's best to carry on and distract me from moping and feeling sorry for myself. Think I'm off for an early night.

Apologies for no proper name-checking. I'm also iphoning . You're all wonderful .

Moofold · 21/04/2010 21:35

Cheepz if you've got it, go for it. Nothing wrong with that.

Welcome back MrsPrettyG - good on you. Enjoy your pints.

Gi1da while I am getting neurotic about lack of symptoms what were yours? I can't remember you mentioning any before stunning us all with your dramtic BFP?

Gi1da · 21/04/2010 21:05

Hey MrsPretty there's a monkfish with your name on it here whenever you need it Have a bloody good night out x

clareanna · 21/04/2010 21:05

Mrspretty - lovely to hear from you, think you were actually very undramatic and are entitled to much storming and raging if needed. Positive Mental Attitude def the way to go x

clareanna · 21/04/2010 21:03

Cheepz - have a South African BIL so know what you mean! I reckon go in what you feel most confident in. What did you have to wear when you worked with him before??
knock em dead!

PrettyVacant1 · 21/04/2010 20:39

< Meek wave >

Sorry for the dramatics
Thanks for all the support and swearing.
I can't abandon our team!

I have taken a fish from the Cheepz shoal of thought and slapped myself about abit.
Went for tests, don't want to research more on t'internet and I'm not losing it till/if they tell me I'm fooked.
Duplication of chromosome 22 is not the best way to go on to win healthy baybees. (sorry )

2 weeks.

On iPod so sorry no naming lovelies.

Welcome Lucy and margie xx

Will catch up properly soon, have to run now I'm taking Brian and Mr.G for a pint and we're going to do the quiz

WestYorkshireGirl · 21/04/2010 20:38

Cheepz I'm a traditionalist so would go with skirt suit over trouser suit if I didn't know the person.

WestYorkshireGirl · 21/04/2010 20:35

Lucy, Clare, Teaser - thanks for info on ov sticks. I will see how I go au naturalle for a while longer, but good to know there are weapons at my disposal in my war against the lack of babies!

Teaser - As I know Northumberland well I did indeed wrap up warm. Some of my coldest experiences have been in castles and country houses in Northumberland and I had to buy special work wear when I first started my job- it's never near as cold in Yorkshire when I leave and come back back home so I have to take lots of layers! It was lovely and sunny though which made up for the cold wind.

Dorcas - enjoy your holiday. I too love the beaches, especially Bamburgh.

Margie- Welcome and sorry for your loss. My RTD took 5 weeks after mc and I think random cycles seem to be the norm.

Bear - Hope the pains aren't anything to worry about and good news about the scan next week. As you'll have seen, it was not a lucky month for me, but onwards and upwards!

Clare & Bunny - I know it's hard not to mark the anniversaries, but I've stopped doing this now and would have to look up my old due date which I think is a good thing.
