just popping in to welcome QA to our thread, i'm so happy we have new recruits

tew is due any day, i actually had to go and count my cd, as this month i have tried to not think about stuff too much, cd 29, so an arrival is due any time, perfect timing would be at tomorrows party

your thoughts on a matter would be welcomed... df and i are setting a date very soon for the wedding, working out when we could afford to do it at the earliest, and i just casually said, 'well we can do it then, but just remember something else might crop up in the meantime' meaning a baby, and he said i ought to go back on the pill for 2 years cuz whatever we are doing now isnt working i just ignored him and sat quietly, he knows how much it means to me, is he being an arse/just does not get me/looking after me in his own way?? i feel so sad now

VJay · 26/03/2010 19:55

Thanks QA, it says that what I'm taking is moderatley safe, not sure what to make of that really.

cupcake glad you're still connected. Fish and chips sound good to me, yummy, hope you're not over doing things

Sorry Vjay, still not working...anyway just follow the link on Kellymom to the safe medication when breastfeeding link on the left side.

QuestionsAnswered · 26/03/2010 19:50

Sorry 2nd link not working,

2nd try

QuestionsAnswered · 26/03/2010 19:44

Vjay, just thought, there is a good site that may be able to give you some info here

They also have a link to a site that gives you info about the safety of specific drugs, so if you felt that this was a bit rushed and you would prefer to stop in your own time then this is worth a read about the effects of here Sometimes it is good to look it up and decide for yourself and then make your decision.

cupcakefairy · 26/03/2010 19:22

I'm still connected

Surrounded by mess and sneezing from dust but lovely dh and one of his friends have taken most of our heavy stuff over already, yippee! Starting to feel a bit sad now even though I've wanted to leave this crummy flat for ages...

QA you definitely deserve that wine- drink up! Know just what you mean about RL friends not knowing what to say, and then it just makes you feel worse for making them feel awkward.
Surprisingly, two of my RL friends remembered today's anniversary & texted/emailed me with no prompting...I was quite touched, so I'm sure your friends mean well really, we British just never know what to say!

Hi Vjay sorry I can't give any advice on bfing but seems to me one would stop gradually...bit of a dilemma for you though if you want to take the painkillers hope docs can shed some light for you.

Hi MummyKate love the nn JD and well done for even popping in here!

Right, better make some tea get fish and chips for my hardworking dh.

QuestionsAnswered · 26/03/2010 19:21

Vjay, I stopped very gradually, but DS was older, You could try starting a thread on the breastfeeding section, they usually have some good advice on there. It must be stressful for you trying to work out what to do for the best.

VJay · 26/03/2010 19:02

Sorry to bang on, but those of you that have breast fed before and then stopped, how did you do it? Did you just stop one day or stop gradually, dropping a feed every day or so? When I stopped with ds1 he was under 2 weeks old so I just stopped one day and didn't suffer any problems, the milk went quite quick, but Ajay is 7 months old next week so I'm worried about mastitis and painful boobies.

QA you enjoy that wine tonight, you so deserve it

pfj hope you are ok, thinking of you xxx

neeks how are you doing?

blue how did you get with the bf councillor?

QuestionsAnswered · 26/03/2010 17:30

Thank you all for the warm welcome

Cupcake, thank you for the tip I should imagine that the anniversaries are difficult to deal with, I know I have got what would have been my due date etched in my memory. 32 weeks is so very nearly there and you will have some positive anniversaries once your baby is born, birthday, 1st smile, 1st steps

vjay thank you for adding me to the list, sadly is is the only time I will get to wear small pants. In RL they are slightly more roomy Have you tried an osteopath or chiropractor before, they can often work wonders in a shorter space of time. BF is such an emotional issue so I can understand what a difficult decision it is to make.

blue It is a lovely age, both the pfj and I have been talking about how much it has helped to have a funny little one around, they do make you laugh, even against the odds.

louey hope the NCT meet up went well and you managed ok, it is so difficult having to just carry on as normal at times isn't it. I hope you are managing some time for yourself and that having friends over has helped. Wish I could say more to you

MLS You're right, people really don't know what to say in RL. The very few people we have told have found it difficult and seem to prefer not to refer to it now, almost as if it hasn't happened. I am glad we didn't tell more people because of this.

littlebellesmum and curlypants, sounds like you have both had tour hands full today in different ways.

Pfj really hope you are ok, let us know how are you if you are up to it

Wow, that wa shard work, hope it gets easier to hget my brain in to gear, otherwise future posts will just say 'hello'

Right have done, way too much cleaning and sorting today so deserve a bottle glass of wine this evening. Going to try and relax more this weekend as I'm aware that I am on edge and finding it difficult to unwind. the wine may help

MrsKate · 26/03/2010 17:26

hi all
sorry not been on jd has been on a feeding frenzy the last few says . i need to catch up talk soon xxxxx

littlebellsmum · 26/03/2010 13:50

vjay and if you stop bf'ing, DH could do some night feeds and you could get some much needed sleep? Your back counds just horrible - not what you need with two active boys at home

loueytbg · 26/03/2010 13:41

Thankyou all for the lovely welcome. Having a rough day today which I guess is to be expected. DTs are playing up too which is not helping at all. Still it takes my mind off things a bit. My NCT group are coming over later on for a mini-tea party for DTs birthday (which incidentally was on Neeko's due date). I am hoping not to descend into floods of tears. We only have 5 mums in our group, so its more manageable in our houses but hopefully we will be out in the garden if it stays dry.

I was going to plump for 1st April but I see Lion's got there first. So I'm going for 31st March, but I hope for your sake Neeko that you don't have to wait that long.

Littlebells sounds like you've got a busy day

Vjay back pain is a killer. I had similar problems when DTs were about 9 months and it was linked to carrying them on one side of my body. I had physio (although I had to pay privately, NHS were useless) and it has gone now but it took a while. I hope you get some pain relief soon. Try not to worry about the BFing too much - you've got to 6 months which is fantastic. Most people don't get to 6 weeks. If you need to switch Ajay onto formula so you can get some pain relief then please do.

QA I'm sorry that your MC turned into such a long process but I'm glad you are feeling a bit more normal. Gives me hope!

Right, I'm off for a lie-down before the masses arrive.

PS love Greys Anatomy

CurlyBigPants · 26/03/2010 13:33

Hello new thread where does the time go? The totally gorgeous curlygirl is kind of wearing me down at the moment and much as I adore her I just need tsleptep so bad!!! Writing this on phone as she feeds and she is so making me laugh when she latches off and tries to suck milk out of her hand instead

sad welcome and massive hugs to our new joiners and it's lovely to see thePFJ still here. Massive hugs to moon mermaid Jools and our smallpantets too xxx

Neeko hope you are not going crazy waiting. Ver excited for you

lots of love to all. Sorry for lack of personals. Someday I can get back on laptop to catch up properly!!!

OP posts:
VJay · 26/03/2010 12:54

Thanks mls it does get confusing I'm a southerner living up North and I get well confused

blue dh wants me to stop bf because he doesn't want Ajay to be getting stuff through my milk that he shouldn't, he's confused with the doctors because one said it's ok to take this and another said it's ok to take that but not the other and so on. I'm in a right old pickle over it all, I feel it's a waste as I've got the goods, but if I stop then I can be pain free, happy muumy = happy baby/family and all that. I have just done a 7oz bottle for Ajay and he's had 2ox so far, I think I will rewards myself by taking 2 cocodamol .

littlebellsmum · 26/03/2010 11:53

Just checking if "BabyNeeko" is showing any signs of coming out - but not yet - boo, hiss, I can't waiti untill "Cupcake" is to of the list and we get to meet "BabyNeeko"!

Will lurk whilst kids at school - in baking mode today - cakes and biscuits for scholl easter fair and cheese straws for 80's night at school tomorrow. And then it will be onto the curtains - blinds are now up and I will try and add a photo!

Back for personals later

Neeko · 26/03/2010 11:31

Morning Blue I'm lurking on here til the battery goes on the laptop. I actually watched that thing on channel 4 about rescuing injured soldiers.
I've never been able to make my mind up about that actress. Lipstick Jungle was cancelled after season 2 - and I liked it to.

Was reassured to see Grey's is back next week. Don't see why they need a whole evening about ghosts!

Well done for cancelling night out. It's good to hear you putting yourself first.

Right, off to hoover...

bluesatinsash · 26/03/2010 11:19

Morning too!

Welcome QuestionsAnswered and so sorry you have mc its just heartbreaking... Take comfort and sneak extra cuddles from your DS, it does help. My DS1 is 3 too, well 4 in June. Its a great age isn't it? They're really coming into their own, ans so funny unintentionally half the time. Pull up a bean bag and settle in .

Neeko - loving the cardy, hand knitted ones are just delicious! B is still in his although getting a bit ticht on him now. what did you watch instead then? We caught up on CSI.. BTW yes the new bird in Grey's was 'Nico' from Lipstick Jungle - I assume they cancelled that show? I can't make up my mind it she's attractive, something to do with her nose and nostrils in particular. She also has a bit of the 'Celine Dion' about here (what's with the long face ).. anytway, get scrubbing again after you've put the messages away.

Vjay - honey your back must be giving you so much jip. Backache is the worst. Has your DH suggeted formula to give you a break? Will he do the night feeds instead? As you have said to me, only you will know when you want to switch over but you have given Ajay 6-months of gold top and that is just amazing. Really hope you get your physio appointment soon and they get to the bottom of what is causing the pain.

MLS - how are you baring up after your 5am start/? Its a killer. Does your Dd still nap during the day? I deleted OBEM from planner as couldn't bring myself to watch it as I knew I would be too upset as it was all about the neo-natal ward. The trailers alone were too . I think it was a good outcome though... I had a peanut butter sarnie last night, first one in ages.

Having a nice chilled day as DS1 is at nursery all day. Even managed to rustle up some celery and courgette soup for friend coming round for lunch. Have pulled out of night out tonight. Just getting too stressed with it all, the planning/feeding etc. for 2 hours at the most in the pub. My friend is coming round on Tues so will see her then. If only she was over six months from now...

Later ladies x

Neeko · 26/03/2010 11:15

Morning! Sad days when you can't even get to Asda without being stalked! And from the complete opposite end of the country no less!

Welcome to Questions Really sorry to hear of your MC but glad you found us. So nice to have more small/no panters on the thread. (I hope it brings some of our AWOL ladies back) You'll know if and when you're ready to TTC again and the ladies here know EVERYTHING about TTC and surviving the weebly moments. We'll look after you. Most of us have been on here for at least a year and we should have all signed the official secrets act for the things we know about each other! I was very impressed with your knowledge for a 1st post.

Cupcake Don't leave us!!!!

4ever How you feeling today?

Moon any news?

MLSthestalker Sorry to get you all excited for nothing!

Vjay Oh that's a hard one. Only you can make the decision to stop feeding and if the doc says the tablets are safe, then either choice should be ok. Can't remember now, but did you have an epidural? It gave me a sore back for about a year after the birth last time - though the medical profession would deny it!

Just fixing the list as Vjay missed Lionthe famous Tsk! Tsk! That's worse than one contraction!

Hi questionsanswered and a welcome to you, but glad you feel more normal and have joined us. Yes the anxious feeling is normal, I had 2 mc's before ds2 came along, I was so so scared but at the back of my mind I kept thinking, if this one goes tits up at least they'll start doing some test, it was a threatened mc, but now he's rolling around next to me sucking on a toy . I would never have got through my mc's and pg without the fabulous support on here, and as you can see we all stick around to continue the support, so hope you stay too so we can help . Feel free to chat, cry and rant on here whenever, I still do I've added you onto our lists, hope you don't mind.

QuestionsAnswered 29/03

Right I need some more advice, I rang the doctor yesterday as I'm in even more pain with my back, it feels like a trapped nerve (I think, not had one before ) and it's more in my hip than my back, anyway she said to stop taking the ibuprofen she doesn't recommend it with bf, and has prescribed me cocodamol instead, which is better, but dh says maybe I should stop bf and give Ajay formula instead. I'm so blinkin tired Ajay was up 4 times last night, then I couldn't sleep because of the pain, so ended up taking cocodamol at 1am then again at 4am, only 1 tablet each time so didn't think that was too bad, but it did help me sleep. Any suggestions/advice? Oh and the doc said it sounds like my back need manipulation as it's been put out during the birth, OUCH! so is trying to get my physio rushed through.
