Oh monkey you poor thing, I do hope everything is ok and like neeko says it's just a blip, but can understand why you are so upset, I would be too. You've had far to much to deal with lately. Stop apologising for lack of personals too, you come first just now, and please let us know how you get on. Here's my hand to hold over the next few days

cupcake your dh sounds fab, big gold star for him, and so glad you are settled and not had to put on your steering lock yet

neeko that is a fab idea with the bottles, will try that, you are a clever neeko, now lets work on those contractions, you've had one, lets try another one

Had a fab time at the soft play, ds1 bounced on the bouncy castle for the full 2 hours, while I chatted away over a coffee he is now so tired and will probably end up in bed after his dinner

Neeko · 29/03/2010 16:13

Cupcake Glad you're in and semi-settled. I'm too lazy to get a prescription for Gaviscon so just stick it in the trolley at Asda. How exciting putting up the cot tonight. It will feel really real then.

Iggy Glad you enjoyed the spa day and are doing ok. Well done on the bra bargains too.

Louey well done on the huge post. Have already tried your suggestion which was a gymnastical feat of a whole new level with no result!

Barbie Love, love, love that cartoon. That's so how I felt when I stopped feeding DD - like a tangerine at the end of a football sock! Did you try dipping the dummy in your milk? Don't give up straight away.

4ever Hope you enjoyed your ante-natal and made some new friends.

Hi Gracie How's the gorgeous Isabelle today?

MLS are you lurking? Hope you're ok for tomorrow.

Vjay Glad the stopping feeding has gone so well and your strspping, gorgeous boy is fine. Hope you get some relief from the back soon. It sounds awful. When feeding DD formula I used to make the bottle up with two thirds of boiled water and chill it in the fridge, then when it came time for the feed I'd make up the water with boiling and then add the formula. Worked out the right temperature and was much quicker than making fresh and cooling or making in advance and warming.

Neeko · 29/03/2010 16:00

Monkey You poor love That's so not what you need. I really hope you get some answers on here and this all turns out to be a blip. We're all here for you whenever you need to talk, rant or cry. Now stop apologising for the lack of personals and focus on you right now.

GracieGirl · 29/03/2010 15:48

Hello! Just catching up, back soon!

monkeybumsmum · 29/03/2010 15:16

Hi ladies, firstly I want to apologise for only ever popping in briefly, I feel like I'm not giving you all enough attention - sorry... I will do a mega-post at some stage in the near future, honest!

Anyway, this is just to update you before I hit the antenatal tests board - we got our blood results back today and our combined risk for a chromosomal abnormality is 1 in 30. Not good. We are so upset, and I just feel like this year has thrown almost everything it can at us. Am being rushed in for a CVS tomorrow morning as close to cut off point, so should have some results on Friday. I can't stop crying, am convinced it's going to be bad news. I can't believe that yet again we will have gone through these months of hell and all for potentially nothing.

I really hope you're all okay, sorry again for not having had chance to read back through all your posts. Love to all and lots of support to the newcomers, it's an awful time for you and I'm thinking of you xxx

cupcakefairy · 29/03/2010 14:27

Hi iggy x-poost (mine took an age to write!) glad the spa was lovely.
I definitely need new bras will have to look into Hot Milk.
Packing up all my pre-pregnancy bras was weird; I haven't worn them in months and they're all so pretty! I hope I can fit into them again one day

cupcakefairy · 29/03/2010 14:24

Hello girls! I am still alive!
Sneaking on at work but will try to catch up...
Everything went really really well. Dh was an absolute STAR and didn't stop all weekend- packing, lifting, driving, cleaning, reassembling furniture. He was being so so lovely & kept telling me to sit down and not do anything. (although I did do lots of cleaning of old place and totally shattered from it! But apparently all that leaning forward is good to get the baby into the right position!)
So we are now in the new place; it's very lovely & already coming together nicely despite loads of boxes still around. Our friends brought round the cot we had delivered to them so dh is going to make it up tonight, yay Thanks for all your thoughts and good wishes!

Moon sorry about what your df said I agree with MLS that he probably thinks you'll 'forget about it all' for 2 years if you go back on the pill. Men don't seem to realise we never forget I also totally agree you WILL get what you want. I can totally relate to looking at friends wondering why you haven't got it all- I spent months always saying to dh 'why can so-and-so have 3 babies no problem' etc but just remember they will have their own troubles too even if they don't share them. Massive hugs to you, it is so nearly your time. (has af come yet? )

4ever my lovely, so sorry about all the rubbish with work, doctors and stupid strangers making comments on your bump I hate that; they don't realise how much they can affect you! Really hope antenatal was fab today and you met some lovely people. Really glad you got some sleep too!

Curly yay for getting to the hairdressers! I'd been looking forward to bringing my lo to my salon in a few months for the stylists to coo over but maybe I'll want a break to get my hair done! Aw, that's sweet of you to notice my excitement over the NCT classes, hehe...I am still really excited to know more first time Mums; one of my main weebles was being all on my own when dh goes back to work.

blue hope B is settling a bit more now? Friends of ours have a daughter who's lactose-intolerant and was just not putting on weight in her first few months. They ended up having to give her this manky formula made from powdered fish guts or something - her Mum added a bit of Nesquik as it just smelt so horrible Hope Ben doesn't have to have that

louey so sorry about the infection, that really sucks. I'm on iron tablets for anaemia too and actually not finding it too bad. It's turned my bowel movements a rather 'interesting' shade but I'm making sure to drink loads and loads of water too so haven't been constipated yet.

QA no we haven't moved far, just from the south of Cardiff to the north...about a 20 min drive. V different area though, much nicer! We haven't even put our steering lock on the car yet
Totally relate to saying the word 'miscarriage'. I remember a few weeks after mine telling a friend about it and just spontaneously crying when I hadn't for about a week. It's a very strange feeling. You're doing great by the way.
And yeah, it takes a while to learn everyone's 'place' on the thread- I remember referring back to the list loads too when I joined but you'll gradually get to know everyone's story.

Vjay really glad you are a little happier about the weaning Ajay off the boobies sounds like he is a happy bunny so I'm glad you're not worrying too much.

and finally...NEEKO! I'm glad I haven't missed the big moment but seriously, you're still here??
Really hope you don't have to get induced I've just finished my giant bottle of gaviscon too - what great timing as I now don't have a doctor and may have to actually pay for a new bottle! (free prescriptions in Wales! Probably is in Scotland too...?)

Loving all the wedding planning talk too...I loved planning mine! In fact, just had to throw a load of stuff away from it with the move as it's just pointless to keep (I've kept my big planning book though!) dh and I even sent our pics off to a wedding mag and got featured in it, what geeks!

Can't believe I only have 7.5 weeks to go. I have now bought some big cheap granny pants and dark towels (although I am intrigued as to why everyone recommends these...is it actually impossible not to flood your knicks after birth? ) and dh has agreed to have another big name talk as we are still clueless! Baby is wrigglier than ever though and I love it- echo 4ever that I will really miss my bump

Right, think that's a long enough post!!

iggypiggy · 29/03/2010 14:05

Afternoon everyone!

That just took ages to catch up on!

louey and QA welcome - but so sad you having to join us in these circumstances - however it is really nice to have new people join the thread and everyone here will look after you

pfj so sorry about your migraine - the last time I had one was after my MC xx

That's everyone for asking about my house hunting/ selling - is going ok! MLS part of the reason we thought about selling now was cos i thought it would be easier to keep the house tidy now rather than in a years time

barbie poor Devon working that einstein look

moon your post about your MCs made me feel all emotional about mine - I am coming up to the anniversary of the MC - which was Easter Sunday last year... I would go for it with the wedding planning - is quite all consuming and might be a good distraction for you? Hope you ok. xx

jools baking and mermaid thinking of all of you at the mo. xx

Oh yes - I just bought some new bras - this time I went with MLS's suggestion of Hot Milk and am liking them alot - combined with Neeko's suggestion of buying nursing ones - so that is what I have... and they are lovely They were 70% off int he shop I went into - so also v. cheap!

No other news - Except I had my day at the spa on Friday - which was lovely!

VJay · 29/03/2010 11:38

loueytbg you have just made me lol, what with you and barbie I'm having a very funny day As for physio I'm hoping I will get an appointment through this week.

OP posts:
loueytbg · 29/03/2010 11:29

Morning, I'm going to attempt to do some proper personals finally....so here we go, in no particular order

barbie ooh a 1 month old baby they are scrumptious. How are you getting on??

neeko c'mon babyneeko. I agree with the others, sounds like sex is the way forward Get it on for those of us who can't at the moment

iggypiggy how is the house sale/hunting going??? I love moving, just not all the bit beforehand. Planning a new house is so much fun

Pfj how are you doing, has the migraine gone??? I think the waiting is the hardest (but I'm VERY impatient). If it makes you feel any better, whilst TTC DTs I ended up with appendicitis and had to wait months before I could TTC again. Did my head in. I think you need to see how you feel and sod the docs suggestions of waiting 3 months if you want to try again sooner.

Sabs haven't been watching enders but I think I know what you are talking about and its probably just as well I haven't been watching it!

GracieGirl fab news about your brother. Hope Isabelle is giving you longer between feeds now, 1-2 hours is a killer. It must be so lovely to have parents nearby to help. Mine are miles away (in one case thousands of miles...)

MrsKate belated congrats to you on baby Jack. Hope the feeding frenzy has calmed down a bit. I remember that stage when you weren't quite sure that it actually was your baby (or in my case, babies). It does pass and there are times when you will wish it wasn't your baby

Vjay - i'm sorry you are still suffering, how long do you have to wait for physio? Well done on making a decision re weaning Ajay. BTW I thought he/you were Indian until I checked your profile and saw pics of a very un-indian-looking (but very cute) baby. And then I realised that he was actually called Alexander [thicko emoticon]

Bluemoon Thank you for posting your story, it must have been hard to do and it sounds like you've had a dreadful time. I'm sorry DF is being an arse about the wedding/baby. I would definitely organise the wedding (and you would have lots of help here ) as that is guaranteed to get you up the duff. Sods law. I have a friend who was TTC#3 for 18 months and had put off booking a skiing holiday the previous year. This year she decided to sod it and book it anyway. She promptly got up the duff and went skiing last wk with a 19 week bump.

4ever How are you doing today? It sounds as though you have really been through the mill with your MCs and this PG. BUT you are in the home straight. Try and take it a week at a time and come and vent on here whenever you need to.

Bluesatin Confession - I still suck my thumb too and I think DS2 is going to be a compulsive thumb sucker too. I also have a friend whos 1 yr old is on dairy free diet. I think she gets soya milk on prescription but can check if you like.

cupcake I think you have to take the NCT classes with a pinch of salt - some bits I found really useful and other bits i knew they would try and put an earth-mother type slant on things. The main reason I did it was to meet other mums-to-be and for that it was brilliant. We are all very close and meet up most weeks (3 years on). I think if you can start meeting up now it really helps. Hope the move went well.

MLS am keeping everything crossed for your scan tomorrow. I sort of feel really protective of all my October group (even though I'm no longer part of it) because I want you all to have happy and healthy babies at the end of it. That goodwill doesn't however extend to celebrities who are currently announcing they are 12 weeks PG . If anyone else does I'm going to scream.

Monkey I'm so sorry your nuchal didn't bring the news you wanted. Is it worth going private to get a second opinion (if you can?)I know people who have done that and have got very different results. 3.1 is only just over the cut-off and 0.1mm is a tiny tiny measurement. Did you get bloods done at the same time? Hope the sickness stops soon, its really rough when its constant.

QA how are things today? I'm glad your curry/wine/dvd evening went well.

Littlebells how did the cake-baking fest go. Am very of anyone who bakes. I managed to stick casserole to the base of the pan last night.

Curlybigpants so pleased you love your hair. Just getting some me-time is lovely. Have got some activia bio-yoghurts in the house, hopefully they will do the trick. Really don't need thrush to add to the mix.

Just adding my guess to the Neeko Sweepstake

Very attractibe barboe

Forget to say, COME ON BABY NEEKO!!!!!

OP posts:
VJay · 29/03/2010 11:14

loving the weeble barbie , that has put a big smile on my face

blue thanks for thinking of me this weekend, my boobs were a bit sore but not too bad, I expressed a bit on Saturday and Sunday, then woke up today and they don't feel as full, my milk must be on it's way out , I'll be glad when it's gone then I get get on with it. I feel a bit about the way I've gone on about it as it's not exactly the end of the world is it .
I do symapthise with you over B's feeding, the poor wee might. So you are trying to help him and figure out what's causing it all whilst being extremely tired, and emotional I bet. I think you are right to continue as you are. Ajay still wakes up twice during the night, I'm a bit naughty as you are supposed to make up the formula as you need it, but I make up 2 bottles before I go to bed, cool them really quickly and pop them in the fridge. It never did ds1 any harm...now I sound like a granny
As for my back, well it's still bad, the only way I can sleep is on my back with a very hot hot-water bottle under my hip and a pillow under my leg. When Ajay wakes up for his 4/5 oclock feed, I redo the hot water bottle and take more painkillers as I'm in a lot of pain by then. Roll on physio

moon you poor love, you are another brave and strong lady on here. It's time for you to have some fun, so put ttc to the back of your mind, though still do it, get down to Anne Summers, pick up some things and suprise dh , Dh won't know whats hit him . That's what I read somewhere to do

Right need to go , I'm not even dressed yet, and we are off to ds1's soft play today, it's arranged by the national autsistic society and he can play and go mad with like minded people, and I can chat with the other mums

OP posts:
barbie1 · 29/03/2010 11:05

neeko just went and got the advent dummies as you recommended....still didnt work seems she would much rather just suck on my nipple suprising how much nipples stretch!!!! she has a thing about turning her head and taking my nipple with it...
this will be me when i finish breast feeding!

Any more ideas....

barbie1 · 29/03/2010 10:59

for you 4ever

4everhopeful · 29/03/2010 10:55

No no neeko u didnt offend hon, i just sometimes feel a bit when i have an outpouring, then feel that i feel iyswim? Its more of a Rl thing & i know that thank god, i can do it on here without those emotions.. U are very right about that loop in my head at the moment, im def in a bit of a wierd weebly & anxiety ridden hormonal place at the mo, desperately tryin to shake it off, iv alot of monica in me too & find it hard to not control my emotions, also think ur right that once i finish work it should help.. Am freaked ill take my redundancy & itll all go wrong & ill be left with nothing.. Its every little thing right now, after my spotting last wk, i was scared to use the thrush treatment, finally did last night but been constantly worried since & got up with dh at 6am & cleaned kitchen & put washing in so gravity would take affect as just wanted it out of me! Im hoping our first ante natal class at 1.30pm might re inspire a little confidence & make me feel a bit more me again... Apologies again for waffle or misunderstanding! x x x x x

Neeko · 29/03/2010 10:36

I totally agree 4ever I have a few friends who have had MCs and have more or less said it's in the past and done and dusted, but mine changed my attitude to everything and redefined who I am and what my priorities are. When I said about it being cathcartic I genuinely meant it as everything has been looping in your mind recently and I'm a big believer in writing things down. Sorry if I offended. I know I couldn't have coped with what you've been through and I'm really pleased you'll have your happy ending soon.

4everhopeful · 29/03/2010 10:29

Barbie repost ur link cos they always make me... Id love to find the pink weeble u got when u christened me! .....Neeko gosh a whole week late? Ur poor dh being used for only one purpose! Hope u managed to enjoy it a bit! The monica in u must be going mad to not have any control over this! How come they havent even offered u a sweep yet? .....Yea sorry to bore those that already know my story, know iv rinsed out my sympathy quota & wasnt expecting to invoke tears like moon did, just wanted to let her know i knew how horrendously painful it was to have ur dead baby stuck & forcibally removed while ur dh watches, i read her post & cried & it took me straight back, that baby would of been 2 in april.. Once i started writing i couldnt stop, it will always be raw & painful, i remember some other recurrent mc'ers sayin, how very grateful we are to have managed to get this far along, but the fear never goes, neither does the guilt, neither does the pain, id feel like a cold hearted cow if i stopped remembering & think its very healthy to not bury emotions in a box & pretend it never happened..

barbie1 · 29/03/2010 10:07

yep induction for you!!!!!

hope thats frightned little neeko enough to get a move on

It wasnt a link, i just tried to do a comma !!!

Neeko · 29/03/2010 09:37

Morning Barbie Still here, after trying everything Have resigned myself to idea of induction next week because all of this will I? Won't I? is driving me crazy!
BTW Devon is making you lose your touch as that link didn't work either.

Moon Don't apolgise. It's sometimes good to remember where we've all come from. This is going to be your year. Has the evil witch flown in yet? If not test??

4ever Hope the heartburn went and the posting was cathcartic for you. I finished the dregs of my Gaviscon last night and I'm a bit that I'll need more.

DD is happily demolishing my living room playing dress up so I'm off to browse MN and gnore the housework!

barbie1 · 29/03/2010 08:31

Still here neeko......

sorry i have one hand only again, one day i will get the use of both hands and do a proper post and welcome the newbies waves to the new comers]

lurking for news and will try to perfect my one handed typing.....

4everhopeful · 28/03/2010 23:05

Evening! I actually slept last night & felt amazing for it today but after a big meal the heartburn is keeping me up now! Thought id do a post rather than just laying there, as really must sleep we have our first ante natal tomorrow!

Barbie you made me with that pic, Im of 39 degrees though! How very dare Devons beautiful name be tarnished!

Neeko all I can say is get bouncing tonight lady, and not on your ball either! I echo Blue though, I LOVE my bump & already thinking how much will miss it, so embrace your last days!

Blue must be very frustrating with the clocks & kids routines, specially as B is having trouble with the feeding at the mo, must be so hard monitoring your own diet too just in case of thr lactose intolerance, hope your HV can confirm one way or t'other soon? You made me laugh about my post 'with paragraphs & everything' its cos when I post on my phone, even tho I leave spaces & try and do new paragraphs it wont somehow so I just use loads of......

Louey so crap to hear you have an infection, they should of given you antibios after your erpc as standard.. Unfortuneatly Im an expert on erpc as I had 4.. Just take it easy & let them kick in.. and sorry I gave your DT too QA!

See QA we are all impressed by your ability to keep up, cos we all struggle ourselves as you can see..! I love weddings too, after planning mine I wondered what I was going to do with myself!

That brings me onto Moon I echo all that Barbie said, sex for fun, and other things to think about are key to healthy recovery and ttc.. Therefore I also think its really cathartic to talk through our experiences and you took me right back with your so sad story.. I came back from honeymoon in Aug 07 pregnant for the first time & overjoyed, but had natural mc at 9wks, went to A&E & sent to EPU for scan who told me baby small for dates, but carried on bleeding through the weekend & presumed that was that, by tues I was in agony & called ambulance, took to a&E put on morphine, and when gynae assesed & scanned me again, same as you, it was stuck in my cervix so had to have speculum inserted & was removed that way in front of DH who saw it all.. My heart goes out to you cos I relived it all or you when I read your post.. Thats why the following 3 MC I had that I had scans for and saw heartbeats & growth on all of them, I opted for ERPCs as couldnt bare to go through that horrific pain again.. However then had the insensitivity of pre op assesments done at the ante natal dept each time, with all the big pregnant women, before we got taken to the day surgery unit.. Then there was the 3rd 13wk MC which Id had loads of scans for & presumed ok (the nuchal one) where I had the ERPC, but like Blue a week later had contraction type pain, went back for a scan & was told I had 'retained product' I spent another 4wks waiting for it to 'pass' and ended up having a 2nd ERPC for it 6wks after the original ERPC..
It was after that, Sept 08 and 3 MC in 10 months, that I found you lovely ladies thank god! Anyway, take faith and inspiration, cos despite my 4th MC in Jan 09, and then 9months to concieve again, here I am, 30wks pregnant! Admittedly, I had the immune issue and had to research treatment andhave a ton of tests before it was discovered, but each horrendous MC made us more determined not too give up.. Im lucky that DH really is my best friend and we truly supported each other & still manage to smile together, thats why he is at my side at every apt and is such an absolute diamond & I know Im v lucky for that... Its all about counting blessings but Ill never forget my 4 angel babies, and when I stop and think Im on my 5th pregnancy in 2yrs, it still makes me but we do survive te heartache and the pain, and eventually, dreams do come true, so keep the faith..
That wasn't intended to be such an outpouring either sometimes when you write you just cant stop...!

BlueMoon1981 · 28/03/2010 21:41

hi blue and neeko didnt mean to make you both sad. i dont think i originally shared much of my 2nd mc with anyone as it was so horrific i blocked most of it out, even df doesnt know the half of it, as i know he wouldnt want to put me through it again. thats why i had so much trouble with my emotions around nov/dec time because i was dealing with it all again, all the stuff i had blocked out.

blue the clocks going forward has put my routine out too so goodness knows what it must be like when you have dcs to look after as well. hope you're snuggled up with your dh now

Neeko · 28/03/2010 21:25

Moon Your post made me cry I remember being on the MC thread with you and persuading you to come here when you got your BFP. I had no idea the 2nd MC had been so awful. Big hugs, honey. Let's all plan your wedding (I still have my file )

Blue Glad you're feeling a bit better bout the feeding. The clocks set bed time back for us too - very frustrating.

PFJ Don't worry bout doing personals all the time. we all struggle at times. This thread could take over your life!

Barbie naming your baby is like buying a new car, you think you're reasonably unique and then everywhere you go it's there! Hope Devon has got over her bad hair day.

I'll no doubt be back tomorrow

bluesatinsash · 28/03/2010 21:11

Hi girlies,

On a bit later tonight as the clocks going forward have put our timings out re: bedtime asif I don't get few enough hours!

Moon - hope you felt a sense of relief writing your mc experiences down and that it was cathartic in some small way. what an awful time you had. Ona happier note I LOVE weddings too and bought bridal magazines AFTER my own wedding as still loved looking at the dresses/flowers/venues featured. Then moved to House and Garden mags and now no time to read anything!

QA - gold star for keeping up with us hope you're doing OK. Its always been a very unique thread in that we feel listened too and answered and thought of which is so tricky when there are so many of us! Thanks for tip on lactose free formula (and Vjay thanks for going to speak to the Mum you know). Going to keep exclusively bf for now (although it is so hard some days i.e. B was up every 2 hours from 7pm to 7am last night...) and limit by own intake of dairy to see if it eases his fretfullness. its so as some feeds he is an angel then others he cries, arches his back, is sick...

Vjay - how are you today? How are the (.)(.)? And your back? Been thinking about you all weekend...

Louey - so to hear you have an infection, it just drags every on doesn't it? I had a natural mc back in Aug 08 and got the all clear from hospital after scan showed everything was away only to have what can only be described as labour pains two weeks later two mornings in a row. Couldn't understand what the hell was happening then I passed a plum sized clot that night - it was awful just took me back to mc in the bathroom two weeks before. Phoned gynse who reassured me that it was just the last of the pg coming away. I felt knocked for six as me and DH had been ttc that week after getting a +ve on the OPK's but I later found out on here that you can get false +ve if you still have pg hormones .

barbie - Devon could never look anything less than beaufitul

Neekooooooooo - going to try different tack - are you savouring your bump? Take a few moments to OK? When you get overdue you just want baby out so much but then once baby is out you can be a bit wistful of you bump and the clam before the storm

curly - you're going to give yourself a heart attack missy trying to keep up - don't fret about personals just chill girl!

4ever - lovely to have one of your massive posts with paragraphs and everything . Boo about your appraisal but as you say its not your priority at the moment. 30 weeks is just fantastic x

MLS - so thinking about you this week and wiling you onto that big pants bench x

Right better sign off if I've to have any quality couch tme with DH x
