enough with this bloody height thing now

yes call her everyone is gone all relaxed with the sun, she may just be finishing elevensies.

It was against the dr I saw this morning professional somethingorother to give me a script. I felt like a bloody drug addict
she is ringing the golfer I opined that he was probably on the golf course.

I actually got read a snippet of his letter which noone had bothered to let me have or share before. That the only options were either to St Marys to help their research, not actually help myself as such or to take asprin before conception it could maybe possible help.

do you think I am hormonal?

MummyLovesSadie · 15/04/2010 11:32

Aaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhhhhhh I fecking hate this waiting.

MummyLovesSadie · 15/04/2010 11:29

waiting waiting waiting. I've been a cleaning demon this morning & I'm waiting for the phone call with the results of my combined test.....

Welcome back Barbie, Mermaid I hope you get your cyclogest today, 4ever you are probably in your office, surrounded by leaving prezzies crying your eyes out.

Seeing as we are doing our heights, I'm 5ft10, dh is 6ft & dd is 3ft3!

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2010 09:11

mental note not to go round 4evers for afternoon tea scuse me can you poke me with a needle? cucumber sandwich?

5'8"! no wonder she is big. blue 5'7 I can do nothing but look up to you both!

have a lovely leaving lunch

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2010 08:56

barbie have to put that down in barbie classics along with my personal favourite, the tree story.
Glad you got home before they grounded all the planes though and so lovely to hear that Devon is flourishing. You must indeed be exhausted.
And thank you for being excited for me everyone, I am trying but in the meantime if you lot do it for me that is a good feeling.

I am going to gp in a wee while after finding out they wouldn't give me my cyclogest on repeat and not letting me know. humpf. It's not my regular dr so scared they won't give me my cyclogest. Will not move till they do.

Spent all my points on tres expensive clearblue conception sticks yesterday and it came up 3+ which I think is bang on making me 5+6 today Sooooo while I do an Arthur Dent in the surgery I may as well ask for an early scan for sometime in the next few weeks or so.

blue bugs on peppers..... I have a truly dreadful slug problem which I really should solve with some of those things you pour into the soil but never get around to it. This year I am going to pinch loads of dhs copper wire in the vain hope of frying the little buggers. You could try sharp gravel around everything egg shells are reputed to also work, beer traps? havn't done that since I murdered a newt, was very upsetting.
marigolds intersperse them through everything as flying bugs don't like them, and encourage ladybirds to munch greenfly.
If all that fails send dh out at night with a torch

cupcake oh lovely that is a bit of a worry for you but I am hopeful as others have said that you have just had so many variations on your measuring. wow at you finishing work, hope you had nice leaving pressies. Tis very exciting, engaged????

mls any news? hope you and dd bruises are ok too, arnica lots of.

louey you ok today, thinking of you. That goes for qa and also pfb too cos it's early and difficult time and it's a horrible struggle some days.

vjay at vjays quaffing habits. You must have been so worried. lovely vision of him ambling after big brother

opps better go scrape myself together so I don't look at all desperate and unhinged

4ever you poor pin cushion. I think it may be your last dfat at work? So if it is have a weepy happy sad day. waterproof mascara today maybe?

4everhopeful · 15/04/2010 08:52

..... So dh this morn whilst rushin to get to work, tried & stupid machine kept sayin error, he kept squeezing as much blood as poss from orig prick & tryin new strips, but had to reprick me about 4 more times, by this point hes gettin stressed & frustrated cos hes late & im now in tears & gettin all paniced, anyway did it till we ran out of strips so had to give up! So stupid that hosp only gave 1wks worth with no spares or instructions so dh will have to in hosp to get more today... [grr] Really did not set day off well considering my big leaving lunch is today & i get redundancy pay too so should be an exciting, happy, albeit emotional day, not started ideally at all, huff! Anyway, gonna have a soak in the bath & roll into work 4 11ish so will hopefully chill a bit by then! Busy busy day so will be back to lurk this evening... Love & thanks again to all 4 the lovely reassuring words re GD situation.. Blummin needed like a hole in the head for a weeble like me! As per usual u lovely ladies helped me feel better about it with warm words & pearls of wisdom! Thanks again & love ya lots x x x x x

4everhopeful · 15/04/2010 08:34

Neeko soothing cuppa, muffins, daytime tv & sofatime for u lady, take 5mins wherever u can get it! BTW, found ur birth story, eventually(!) & sounds so serene & lovely, fast too! Such a shame about the traumatic time after with the clot & HDU but also v pleased H renal thing is ok after all.... Most massive squeezy handhold & thoughts to Monkey for op today brave lady... Sabs hope tues passed peacefully & thoughtfully for u with lots of hugs from Saara.... Vjay & Blue hope ur not covered in volcanic ash up there?! Oh &yea Blue im 5ft 8 & dh 5ft 11 so hopin big size dd is that, not GD.... Qa & Lou hope things finally physically healin 4 u both? Big waves to everyone else, am on pho so scuse lack of punctuation! .... Well the blood test kit is a right mission 1st time i braced myself for dh to prick me with needle & didnt work, after 3rd attempt realised he had it wrong way! Then he drew blood, but then machine kept sayin error, so 3 finger pricks later we finally got a reading, which, thank god was really low! Yesterday all 3 attempts went ok (got friend who visited to do lunch one as cant bring myself to do it!) & again all readings were really low so am holding out im gonna be ok please god! However this morn Dh attempted..... (Tbc silly pho!)

CurlyBigPants · 15/04/2010 08:19

Barbie you are priceless!!!! Don't ever go away again

barbie1 · 15/04/2010 06:02

Gosh what a roller coaster of a ride it's been reading the last few pages of the thread. All these emotions at once

Im going to have to slowly break myself back in, so my posting might be in pieces...

Firstly i want to say sorry to monkey for what has happened and for not being here to offer the support when needed. I did manage to read the thread a few times while back in the uk but never found the time or energy to post. I was truely overwelmed at all the love and support you all gave monkey as im know she is too....such a lovely group pf ladies here, each and everyone of you
Everything i wanted to say to monkey had been said by you all already so i wont repeat, just want you to know you have been in my thoughts constantly and i hope the sun will shine for you again soon xxx

mermaid Half of the emotions i felt were just from reading your posts!
Well im back in the dessert now so if you are in need of more sand you know where to look...Im another one is very excited for you

jools hello again, glad to see you back. It means i dont have to stalk you on fb Im v at your holiday, i know ive just had one but going home somehow just isnt the same i need a holiday to get over this holiday!
I dont beleive you are too old to try ttc, however it doesnt matter how many people tell you this only you can decide, i for one will be willing for that miricle to happen for you x

cupcake fret not about the size of your bump...if you remember my post pre birth the very same thing happend with me. My growth scan said i was only 34 weeks pregnant when in realitly i was 39+4 the main thing to look for is that the baby is the same size all over, you might just be one of the lucky ones who (like me) carries small babies...no need for the scary scissors that 4ever has been taking about in the ante natal classes

neeko did i congratulate you on the birth of H? im sure i did? If not then a belated congrats from me!
H sounds like Devon, re sucking the life out of my boobies. I too tried inficol while back in the uk and it worked so well that i smuggled a further two bottles back in the case with me. It has also stopped the cluster feeding too curly take note it really does work!

4ever i find myself holding my breath while reading your posts I am leading you some stablizers until you give birth! I hope the doctors are reassuring you re the GD, it really is very common in late pregnancy so please try not to worry yourself too much. As for induction, it really isnt that bad, and if it means a safe delievery for summer then it's more than worth it.

mlls forgive me, im not entirly sure what has been happening with you i think i have skipped a page somewhere along the line (i will go back and check) the last i heard you were in hospital, i guess you are out now and feeling better? ill get back to you once i re read!

Once i do re read ill be back to catch up with you all again, as for us we are all fine...slightly tired, achy arms from carrying back extra cases full of Devon's new gifts and slightly drained from such a busy two weeks but on the whole nothing to complain about.

2 weeks has made such a big difference to the baby, we left with a 5 week old, cluster feeder who had to be comforted when not sleeping or eating to returning with a 7 week old who is more than happy to be passed around to thousands of relatives or left on her play mat, she smiles and coo's all the time, has finally accepted that she cant spend all her time sucking my boobs and will take a dummy if really tired or windy. Oh and she can fart for england not sure if its the inficol (sp?) or whether she has finally managed to work out how to ease her discomfort?

One barbie moment of the trip....dh bought us the new babyborn carrier, which he strapped to me and placed devon in..It was a warm day do had a vest top and cardi on so my upper chest was exposed, Devon was facing my chest.......all going really well until someone asked to see her face.........
my little girl looked like she had spent a month in st tropez......
my tan had worn off my chest onto her face!!!!!

I had only put on a little tan as i was feeling tired and washed out on my trip back, thankfully we spotted it before it developed and washed it off.

So lesson number two in my parenting wisdom is never apply fake tan when you have a baby, that comes after lesson number one which is dont try to catch a newborn baby poo!

CurlyBigPants · 15/04/2010 05:17

Lol... Didn't expect to do a x-post at this hour of the day mornin Barbie!!!

CurlyBigPants · 15/04/2010 05:07

Morning all. I've been writing a post on my phone since tuesday but in the end it got too big and I had to copy into an email and send to myself so I could do on my laptop instead which of course hasn't been opened yet

hopefully I'll get to it today but in the meantime just wanted to send monkey a massive hug and hairstrokes for today and also to say a nervous but very excited congratulations to mermaid I loved jools post about embracing the pregnancy and I really believe this might be the one. Lots of love to you dear mermaid I know it must be very anxious times for you xxx

back on later hopefully to catch up properly!

barbie1 · 15/04/2010 04:57

Im back

Just marking my place while i catch up...be back soon!

Sabs1981 · 14/04/2010 23:19

Evening vjay

Thanks to those who checked my photo's for me. I've amended it now - so hopefully you can see them all again

Will be back tomorrow - still need to find neeko's birth story - I'm just not looking hard enough!

VJay · 14/04/2010 22:41

Oh blue don't say that , I am clinging on to his babyhood, but he just wants to be like his big bro

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 14/04/2010 20:31

cupcake - try not to worry about the size I've heard so many incidences of babies measuring too small/big according to the not entirely scientific inch tape method . Glad to hear your getting scan though just to reassure.

monkey - really hope your now through to the other side and are getting looked after. I though of you the other day when I was in Waterston'es and there was a book "why bad things happen to good people" life is just so unfair... Sending much love xx

4everwobbling - how are you today honey? How are you managing the kit? Re: size of your DD, are you and your DH tall? I was huge out the front with both boys and I'm 5ft 7 and DH is 6ft 1.. B also measured a whole week ahead in terms of size but was just a big baby..

MLS - your poor DD . Your heart must have been in your mouth when she fell. Sending positive vibes for your results. BTW I'm a complete novice in this veg growing malarky just winging it so can't suggest anything for your peppers - you can always googledoodle it?

Jools - really felt your pain reading about your BFP last year. If its any comfort my doc reassured me that you could run a marathon/stay in bed and it wouldn't affect outcome of pg.. I know you know that no bd = no pg but only you and your DP can decide what road you want to go down. 40 is nothing these days and you are so fit and healthy.

mermaid - loved reading about you literally covered in sand. One day at a time pregnant lady x

Iggy - bumpy looking loud and proud

Vjay - man Ajay is going to be walking before the summer is out

Welcome back barbie -hope D was OK on the flight and her ears ddn't get sore.

Hi to everyone else. Moon we need to start googling grecian empire line etheral wedding dresses that suit a spring complexion.... hmmm...

cupcakefairy · 14/04/2010 12:26

Oh and how could I forget our lovely monkey so so sorry to hear this is still going on. We're still here in the greenhouse for you xxx

cupcakefairy · 14/04/2010 12:25

Hello lovelies,

mermaid you are so wise and just generally lovely and so deserve this. Like 4ever I believe in miracles and will be praying this one in for you!

jools so lovely to hear from you and what you said about believing in the pregnancy was beautiful.

sabs MN friends feature doesn't work... gracie and I both tried it a few months back and when I did a search on mn to find out about it I found some posts that said it was a feature that had never quite got off the ground. Rubbish as I'd post more pics if I knew only you lot could see them!
Not sure if/when I'll return to work; all v complicated as I work 2 part-time jobs and we wouldn't get free childcare as our parents aren't local so we're just going to see how it goes

MLS lol, I know transition is evil but our nct teacher did say for some women they call it 'rest and be thankful' cos their contractions completely stop for an hour or so. Here's my hand for blood results tomorrow.

4ever I can't believe yet more worry and more appointments for you when you are soooo close on the bright side, if you're induced 2 weeks early maybe our los will share a birthday (not much comfort I know!!)

iggy lovely bump pic!

blue I'm v impressed with all the gardening!

buddha lovely to hear from you but ewwww to poo-covered hand! haha!

moon holding out for you to be next in the bfp batch!

Well, news from me is that midwife yesterday could only get me to measure 30.5 when I am 35 weeks so going for a growth scan on Tues. She said it's nothing to worry about as it could be a) cos I've seen so many midwives they all measure differently or b) baby's head has dropped to 3/5 engaged so scan just for reassurance and complete information on maternity notes. Didn't stop me having horrible dreams last night about baby having some illness/disability that's making it not grow though

VJay · 14/04/2010 09:51

It's barbies return to mn day today! Welcome back to you and D xx

sabs I can't see your pictures, it's not working!!!

mls fingers crossed for good results today. Ajay is getting up onto his hands and knees and rocking back and too, quite rude really , but I think he'll start moving soon, other than that, he rolls and drags himself along. Had a the other day, he managed to pull off my plug in airwick, just the bottom off with all the nice smelly poison in it, and started to chew on it , I rang the hospital, but all is ok

mermaid such a shame for that poor lady you posted the cyclogest too, and it will make you feel all weebly, here's my hand to hold, the other one is grabbing Ajay

monkey so sorry you are back in hospital, thinking of you loads xx

jools it is a personal decision, but I don't think 40.5 is too old at all .

Big waves to everyone xx

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 14/04/2010 08:46

mls your post is not half such fun.
I have everything crossed for your results. You are doing very well in keeping so upbeat as you seem to have a family season ticket at your hospital, poor dd, I hope she is ok.

Rather oddly I posted all my cyclogest to someone on saturday morning she sadly began mc on sunday and I got a bfp on Monday. So now I have to wait till tomorrow to get a new script which has upset me alot (think I am very hormonal dh can't say anything right at all)

4ever I hope you have managed the prick test thing this morning without too much trouble. I can't remember if you are going into work today so I hope you are ok.x

monkey masses of thoughts.x

hope everyone has an ok day, barbie must nearly be home so hope you all had a good journey and freddie is pleased to see you.

MummyLovesSadie · 14/04/2010 08:17

Hello lovely ladies, I'm on dh's laptop today, so no missing 'e' & 'r' keys! Thanks for updating everyone Neeko. Yes I had my blood test yesterday & I was feeling quietly optimistic all day until bedtime when I let the demons in my head take over one again . Ah well I'll know tomorrow what my new odds are. Also my little dd now had a face-full of scratches & bruises after falling down my decking steps .

Monkey so sorry this is dragging on for you & you are back in hospital. I hope your Dad is still around to look after your ds. I'm glad you managed to post in-between though, please come back to us as soon as you can & let us try & get you through this nightmare.

Jools really glad to see you posting. You are not too old, we all have stories of people we know in their mid 40's having babies. I think your main problem is the lack of bd action, something you & I have had in common. I don't know anything about taking viagra if you have epilepsy but wouldn't dp be willing to talk to his gp? At least if you had a couple of successful bd every month under your belt then you'd be able to see a glimmer of hope.

Mermaid once again wooohooo! Have you got the cyclogest?

4ever I hope the blood checking gives you good results, am I right in thinking that gd usually goes away when you have given birth?? Also yes the final weeks of pregnancy are really uncomfortable, especially the bigger you are. For me it was my feet that took the toll & I ended up on crutches.

Blue Have you planted peppers as I need some tips to stop the beasties eating them?

Sabs it sounds like you are keeping very busy & enjoying every minute with Saara now she has reached that magic age where she takes everything in & is a proper little person.

Neeko I too loved your birth story, it sounded very serene, just like I'd like my next one to be. I'm glad you said it's easier second time around too. How is dd2's wind?

Barbie are you home now, I expect you were sad to leave?

Iggy any news on your house?

Moon yes bfp's definitely come in three's !

Louey have a big squeezy hug from me too. A lot of us have been there with our misguided dh's trying to protect us by not wanting to try again. Unfortunately mc is an all too common fact of life, as you know it has happened to some on this thread many many times but in the end we somehow find the strength to try again. As the wise Neeko once said 'my need for another baby is greater than my fear of another mc'. All I can suggest with dh is to try & not let him see how much the miscarriage has so deeply affected you, it's hard but I had to do that with each of my mc's as I think if dh knew how deeply wounded I was with each one he wouldn't have wanted to risk putting me through it again.

Cupcake transition is the bit when you are saying 'I really really can't do this' & you mean it! Usually not long after that your baby is born!

PFJ are the stitches out? Those dissolvable ones never seem to dissolve - I remember doing a bit of home surgery after I had a laparoscopy & taking my own stitches out !

QA has the bleeding stopped now?

Cupcake last day of work for you tomorrow, yay! Don't forget to pack some lipbalm in your hospital bag.

Vjay glad your back is feeling better. Is ds2 crawling yet or is he still at the rolling stage?

Curly have we seen a pic of curlygirl yet??

Gracie well done to your dd for having such a well
working & powerful digestive system .

LBM do you think that high & neat signifies a girl then? I don't understand how my bump is right under my ribs if the baby is still way down around my pubic bone??

Right gtg & have a shower. Ta-raa for now.

4everhopeful · 13/04/2010 19:19

Tis quiet on here today.. Have lit a candle for our babys 2nd birthday, what a long road its been.. Cant wait to go to bed tonight...

mermaidspurse · 13/04/2010 17:52

jools thank you for those words you are right and I have very much missed you posting here.

I don't think we are too old until our bodies finally decide it for us. It is however such a personal decision and a terribly painful process to think these things out.
I, we all want you to have whatever makes you happy. I always end up stampiong my foot and wishing I had a magic wand.

I have spent the day on the beach and conveniently come home with shoes full of sand so am going to cover myself up and think some positive thoughts.

4ever I don't blame you for freaking out you poor holey lady. I had to once inject my neighbours diabetic cat while she went on holiday and it was truly horrid. Thinking of you.

Neeko · 13/04/2010 16:40

Hi 4ever an induction doesn't mean you can't have the birth you want and after all you've been through a few needles is truly nothing. My friend had GD and was induced yesterday at 38 weeks. result was a healthy 6lb 10oz daughter. Remember also my DD1 was a 2 vessel girl and she's bouncing on my couch right now!

MLS has had bloods done. Results on Thursday but she's feeling a bit better. Her DD fell and bumped her head badly today so ended up at walk in clinic. She's ok though.

Jools My aunt was 43 4 days after she had her DD and MLS will be 41 when this one is born... Have a fab hol with the girls -you deserve it.

4everhopeful · 13/04/2010 16:30

So good to see u back again jools u have been missed.. Sorry to hear ttc it still a battle.. ur never too old tho, my mum was 43with me... Any news from mls yet? .....Neeko am gonna try & find ur birth story in a min.. ..... Mermaid = ......Sabs been thinkin of u today, poignant that our lost angels would of shared a birthday, cant believe mine could of been 2, will be lighting a candle for our angel babys birthday when dh gets home.. .... Iv had a crap teary day, was at hospital for a few hours, poor dh has to make so much time up for all the apts lately... Got a high glucose result again, spent ages with specialist midwife, more bloods done, then an hour with a dietician in the diabetes unit, & sent home with self monitoring blood sugar kit to be done 3x a day for a week.. Am such a baby i freaked out when shown how to do it, quite a few tears, back next wk for confirmed diagnosis, may end up with induction... I just feel f'd off & weebled out...
