Hello quiet ladies! Hope ur all enjoyin the sun? quick update, back for personals asap! Im officially unemployed a lady of leisure now! Leavin lunch on thurs felt a bit of anti climax as felt overshadowed by GD/testing saga, had to go back to hosp 2 days in a row 4 more supplies cos kept comin up error so using several strips & needles for 1 reading.. Left me sobbing wreck most of thurs & a sleepless anxiety ridden night with v high levels.. However very last day on fri was lovely, only went in for a couple of hours & was all very relaxed & loving from lovely ladies that have become true friends over the years, several brought us very generous gifts, laden baskets & bags of cute clothes, blankets, bibs, bootees, toys & suchlike, as well as mothercare voucher from rest of dept, flowers & countless cards! I felt very blessed & honoured! As i walked out of doors for final time it felt enlightening & right, think i had got rid of all sadness, tears, fear & anxiety the day before! (Poor dh! ) My GD readings were right down again so sure its anxiety induced! Celebrated by seein good friend not seen since xmas, amazed by size of me, then dh & i went to spend mothercare voucher on baby bath, yet more clothes & mobile! Thats nearly everything now & nursery is packed to the ceiling! Have enjoyed a much needed weekend of chillin & sunshine with dh & lookin forward to ante natal class 2moro.. On tues we have growth scan re 2 vessel issue but will be lookin for signs of GD now too, followed by GD midwife so can hopefully have something definitive to go on instead of headf'ing 'what if' scenarios of last week! Am expecting our girl to be 6lb min, maybe more & not even 34wks til fri! Anyway.. Thats me! Back to catch up with the rest of ya asap but huge hugs & lots of sunny love in the meantime! X x x x x

Tis true , I am the grand master of sand. It's lovely and warm and you can completly forget that you are ever pregnant. > V scary when you come out though! Iggy is also good with the sand trick!

VJay · 16/04/2010 18:26

Hiya QA, sand is what we stick our heads into, especially during the early weeks of pg, I think lbm had her head in the sand for the first 20 weeks or so

Hi All

Have been busy this week and I am looking forward to a quieter weekend. Just on briefly, before I go out, as I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Just a quick few messages as haven't time for my usual paper and pen notes , so this is just what I remember, i am warning you all, my memory is shocking!1

It seems that as usual there are a fair few ups and downs. monkey I hope you are holding up ok and your op went as well as can be. Have been thinking of you a lot this week.

MLS I know how worrying things can be and how massive they seem during this period of waiting. They had serious concerns about DS when I was pregnant, which turned out to be no problem at all, but while you are going through the process it is horrendous. Lots of luck and strength coming your way too.

mermaid massive congratulations to you! Your last post sounded much more positive too, as if you are starting to really feel pregnant iyswim. I thought what jools said was inspired, it made me think about things too as I think I am afraid of trying again as I am worried obviously about MC again, but also that I won't enjoy being pregnant because of the worry, so it was lovely to read that and I hope you are starting to embrace it a little more each day. I wish you so much luck, and something about sand??

jools as everyone has said 40 is nothing, but only you know how you feel amd I won't attempt to add to the already great words of wisdom already given. Enjoy your break away and hopefully I will get to hear more from you, now they have sucked you back in

4ever I love your posts, every time I read one and think of all the problems you have had and the ongoing problems, I still know that every day you are another step closer to having your baby and although I haven't been on here long, I can't wait to read your post when you finally reach that moment. I know that sounds odd, but can't really explain it any better You are like a marathon runner heading to the finish line.

cupcake woo hoooooooooooo to starting mat leave. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! It is a special moment and I loved it. Just checked back to the list and realised how close you and LBM are to your due dates!

louey hope you have a better weekend with your DH and that things settle down for you. I feel for you as I know I am still trying to decide, but would hate to have the decision about ttc taken away from me. You have had some good advice on here, and I really hope that all your DH needs is some time.`

Pfj how are you feeling about TTC again?I have started on the vitamins too, though still not sure. I hope your stitches have sorted themselves out now? It is not good to have them as a constant reminder. May seemed a long time when we first talked about waiting until then to ttc, and now it seems ever closer. Bet you will be relieved to start ttc again and have something else to focus on? I keep feeling like a holiday, just to have something else to focus, may check the bank balance this weekend

sabs your DD is just gorgeous, glad you sorted the pictures out I love being nosy-- speaking of photos, iggy bet you're getting impatient being at the back of the big pants queue, nice to keep taking regular bump photos to look back on.

To all the saggypanters, hope you are all enjoying your babies and the sunshine. neeko your birth story was great.

Sorry for no further personals, that's longer than I anticipated already and I am now late and have tested my brain way too much for a friday

VJay · 16/04/2010 18:22

louey I've just stalked your profile and looked at your thread in special needs, hope you don't mind. I was only asking because my ds1 has ASD. I pop up on the boards there sometimes, and have had a lot of help there

OP posts:
VJay · 16/04/2010 18:15

Fingers crossed for Monday louey, and glad the bleeding has stopped. What was your ds1 being assessed for? Fingers crossed for him to that he gets the support he needs.

cupcake I'm as to who to vote for too, I'm lazy and do a postal vote So glad you had a nice shiny first day on mat leave

mls how are you?

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 16/04/2010 18:02

Hi louey glad the bleeding has stopped, hope you don't need an op. And good news that your ds will get some good support

Ha, just posted about the debate cos it's all I've heard from all corners today...and everyone seems to love Clegg (including Gordon ) but will they actually vote for him?
I have no idea who to vote either.

loueytbg · 16/04/2010 17:43

cupcake x-posted. Hooray for internet access Hope you have a lovely few weeks of rest before babycupcake arrives and lovely weather to enjoy it.

Only caught the very end of the debate last night. Am a bit about the whole thing, it would have been more interesting if it was a question time format. Am truly floating between all parties at the mo. A large part of me wants to vote the opposite of DH just to piss him off (he will vote conservative).

loueytbg · 16/04/2010 17:40

mls how are things today? Did you get any where with the consultant?

mermaid 6 weeks - fab. You made me laugh when you started posting just after your bfp - now you've told me your history, I can totally understand your reaction. Hope the counsellor survived your session today

iggy lovely bump, am very (in a nice way )

pfj rock city?? do explain - I think I've missed something somewhere?? I'm glad you had a good time though, having people around does take your mind off things.

barbie looks like you got out of the UK just in time. Glad you a good time and barbiegirl is happy to be passed around now. It really helps. I'm v impressed that you had even the time to think about fake tan with barbiegirl occupying your time. Its been a long time since I had any sort of a tan, fake or real.

4ever I'm sorry about the possible diabetes. You will get used to the pinpricks I'm sure and it will all be a distant memory when baby4ever arrives. Hopefully it How did the last week at work go?

littlebells 2 weeks to go - yippee. Hope they are stress free.

Neeko finally got time to read your birth story. It sounded serene - the sort of birth we all want I think (she says having had a c-section.... )

Sabs have had a peek at the pics of Saara and she's gorgeous

Jools I LOVE greys anatomy....I'm further on in the series than you though (I think series 4 or 5). I promise no spoilers

Cupcake those bump measurements are notoriously unreliable - makes you wonder why they still do them. Hope you get some reassurance from the scan.

Hi to ruby - that's a fab story. Thank you for posting it.

Waves to blue, buddha and moon and everyone else I've probably forgotten

I'm ok, still finding it very hard to concentrate on any work and still internally seething at DH. I am going to give it a couple of months and then try and persuade him to try again. The bleeding has stopped, so I'm optimistic that I won't need another op. Will find out on Monday, keep your fingers crossed. Had an educational psychologist around to assess DS1 yesterday and she thinks he will need 1-1 support in school. He behaved appallingly - which was great. However, she didn't realise that the main reason he did was because I had given my iphone to DS2 to keep him occupied during the assessment and DS1 would much rather have been playing with it than organising stupid blocks with an ed psych . Still, it will hopefully get him what he needs.

cupcakefairy · 16/04/2010 17:32

Hello lovelies; I am finally connected in the new place even though I got some funny looks from the Virgin men answering the door at 8am with wild hair, pyjamas and big bump... currently perched on the stairs with laptop as we haven't set up the wireless yet

But I'm here... hello!

MLS just feel so so sad reading your posts but want to echo that a girl on my an thread was given 1 in 20 and had the amnio, all clear.
I opted against having the blood tests at all after reading of her ordeal so could be blissfully unaware of something wrong... as moon says, that was how it always used to be so I just hope and pray you and baby will come through this just fine. How is dh reacting now? And fwiw, even though we obviously all hope your darling lo doesn't have ds, you would be amazed what you can be 'cut out for'- you are one of the strongest women I've ever 'met'. Massive hugs to you.

ruby congrats on your ds3, what a lovely inspiring story

4ever so sorry the needles have been such a horrible ordeal hope it improves. Glad the results have been low so far though.

mermaid6weeks yay for no pain and for lovely docs! and I'll definitely say when my lovely bro is on UC, sometime after July apparently (Oh my word, I'll be a Mum by then )

barbie welcome home, glad you made it before all this palaver with the ash cloud! Loved the tan story

Very lovely first day of maternity leave today...sun shining the world and his wife keeps telling me this baby will be early so I'm making the most of every second while I can!

So who is voting Lib Dem now?

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2010 15:31

ig fantastic bump hope you are ok and blooming.

Yay to mermaid, 6 weeks today , and to being unbearably smelly

Will catch up properly later xx

ThePFJ · 16/04/2010 10:01

Hi everyone, have been away and installing windows 7.

Rock city was excellent, I forgot what it feels like to be around people having so much fun.

Soon be time for me to make preparations for ttc again. I think pregnancy vitamins are in order.

Missed you all. xxx

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2010 09:12

mlseventaller I hope you got a bit of sleep last night. You must be feeling exhausted with this constant rollercoaster.
I knew that vjaytallerthanme would one day come in useful with all her swatting, top of the class results and incomprehensible course titles
I am keeping everything crossed for you today and hope that your consultant can calm your fears.

ruby wow what a story with a lovely ending. You have made me feel better re all these stats and %. None of this was an issue when I had ds and I have never got to the stage in any further pregnancies to think about the tests.

bluethetall ah yes quite right it was, I get mixed up, have major confused brain. I hope you are getting a wee bit of settled sleep.

lbm 2 weeks left! thats fairly whizzed by - for me at any rate.

louey hope you are winding down after hectic week looking forward to the weekend. How are the stitches?

jools I dare not watch this programme, think it is on tonight though. Am thinking of you amidst your hotel hopping and busy days. You are certainy far from too old lovely lady.

4everanotherlankylady did you have a lovely afternoon, sure hope so. It must have been very bitter sweet. Also fingers crossed that dh picked some more supplies up and has mastered the knack of the testing kit.

well no pains, no wierd pulling sensations or painful to walk. boobs making up for my vertical challengedness, sense of smell is unbearable. 6weeks today. have my councelling appoint. today may just take a packet of biscuits and thermosoh and a cushion. poor councillor

Masses of love to monkey thinking of you as ever.

littlebellsmum · 16/04/2010 08:03

Just a quick message to say hello to MLS Try and look at the positives if you can - I know it's so much easier to say than do.

Hopefully, you'll get to speak/ see your consultant today. As you know there are many people who have had scary test results and babies born with no problems - life needs to make you one of those

Be back to post for everyone else over the weekend - just 2 more weeks left at work, yipee
