Any one due to test from 25th March 2010?

Hi,

Just worked out I'll be able to test from 25th March 2010. I am determined not to POAS any earlier, obsess or eat my own body weight in chocolate before then.

I would really appreciate some support?

This will be month 14...

All this talk of testing would really make you want to POAS wouldn't it!

I'm going out to Asda at lunchtime and I think I'll have to be severly strict with myself not to buy a sneaky test - obviously it would be crazy i know i know but awh how amazing would it also be!

HappyGirl1 · 18/03/2010 11:56

LittleB - ah we all grasp at straws! I think it shows how much we want it!

I've always had relatively sore boobs prior to AF/RTD (not sure which acronym to be using anymore!), then my third month in I had horrendously sore boobs prior to AF and was convinced I was preg, I wasn't.. then the following month v sore again and I was preg (MC'd though).

So now I'm here and like a week to go basically and honestly I'm feeling my boobs all the time.. and hoping i'm feeling something but bottom line is that they are heavy and a bit sore but not pregnancy sore :-( It's comforting reading this thread and realising I'm not the only crazy person who checks their boobs loads!!

I just desperately would love a happy and healthy pregnancy, DH would just be over the moon. I just think we'll both be devastated again if/when AF/RTD arrives next week. We were so so down after MC and then trying again kind of gave us some hope I guess. I know we'll have hope again next month if this month it doesn't happen but oh i dunno. it's a tough process!

Such a good thread with the date we are due to test! - really good idea and sorry for the brain dump - just not having a great day

i'm absolutely ravenous now like tummy rumbling like crazy - mind wanders could it mean something - of course it doesn't at only day 21 though!

LittleB · 18/03/2010 11:38

Hi everyone, I've just been crying my eyes out watching 'one born every minute' on sky+, it makes me so emotional. Dh won't let me watch it with him around and today is my day off with dd at school so I decided to have a rest, work has been manic this week.
Hows this for a new symptom spot - I have a stinking cold, was mild at first then got really bad yesterday, I had several really bad colds when pregnant with dd, so I'm now partly thinking perhaps my cold has got alot worse because i'm pg - I know my logic is hard to fault!
Methinks the phrase 'grasping at straws' might spring to mind, but I'll grasp them anyway!

rosieposey · 18/03/2010 11:06

HappyGirl you are 7dpo so you can probably start testing at around 10dpo if you want to, of course it depends on what you hpt you use and what sensitivity they are but you dont have long to wait So sorry to hear about your MC its rubbish isnt it? I had one 9 months before i conceived DS at 11 weeks and it was shite, doesnt mean anything to subequent pgs though i know you will probably be nervous.

Eggs good luck with your results - let us know how you get on.

HappyGirl1 · 18/03/2010 10:48

Hi Ladies,

Can I join in please? I'm Day 21 and have been TTC for about 5 months now.. Had an MC on 26th Feb at 6 weeks so still very sad about that but got the all clear to try again so we did although it was very difficult after MC. Still naturally now I can't help but wonder and hope could this month be the month!

I'd love to test soon but I guess Day 21 is too early.. I got a positive OPK on Day 14 so presumably ovulated then on Day 15. Basically have to wait another week now realistically.

Waiting Waiting Waiting!

eggsovereasy · 18/03/2010 10:24

Panda test now, I would any more symptoms?

I get sore boobs every month after ov. However, yesterday I did have some cramping, which is unusual?

Been for Day 21 blood test today. So awaiting results anxiously now.

Hi Stiffy there are sooo many symptoms... the main one is googling obsessively anything to do with pregnancy symptoms!

Hows everyone holding up?

OP posts:
rosieposey · 18/03/2010 08:30

Panda im going to start testing at around 9dpo (but then i have no self control) i got a postitive with my DS early and i noticed the day before i took the test that i had soreish boobs (something i never get unless im pg) so no reason why i shouldnt find out relatively early this time.

I dont know whether actual ovulation was on the Sunday that i got the positive opk or the Monday (or even on Tuesday) it is said to be up to 3 days after you get the positive opk but im counting on it being roughly Monday so therefore ill start testing on Weds 24th Its all a bit complicated though isnt it? I havent started imagining anything yet but im sure i will after the weekend.

StiffyByng · 17/03/2010 21:14

Hello. I am completely new to Mumsnet and to trying for a baby. This month is our first attempt. I used an OPK and we did the necessary at the right time of month. My period is due 26 March, so the long wait is in progress.

I don't think I have any symptoms - when might any appear? (So I can start fooling myself into having them...). At the moment, I do have a very mild ache in my pelvis, like extremely mild period pain, but am wary of it as I think I may just be imagining it.

Good luck to everyone on here hanging on till the end of March!

PandaSam · 17/03/2010 19:22

I always get sore boobs pre AF so its a rubbish test for me

What else can I check for?? Currently 8dpo...what should I expect and when can I POAS!

rosieposey · 17/03/2010 16:24

Lol, yes no public prodding (of which i have been guilty of in the past )

I never get sore boobs pre or on AF so if i do i would take it as a pretty good sign myself ...

MrsFC · 17/03/2010 16:04

eggs definitely good signs!!

Make sure no one in the office catches you prodding though. You could come accross a bit weird....

eggsovereasy · 17/03/2010 15:00

Symptom Watch Day 3

I've been prodding. Definitely painful on the left side.

Also feel slightly nauseous but this might have something to do with the junk I've eaten at lunchtime.

Huge appetite.

Don't really fancy a large glass of red as per usual.

Have spent 3 hours reading bbt charts on TCOYF...

Surely these are good signs????

OP posts:
rosieposey · 17/03/2010 12:30

Oh god, only 3dpo??? Its going to take ages till next Weds!

eggsovereasy · 17/03/2010 10:36

get those tests out, lets have a POAS party!

Is it really too early to start on 3dpo???

I've ordered some more, hope they arrive soon...

MrsFC · 16/03/2010 19:48

rosiep I am loving how it's not just me. I have the second FR stick throbbing in a drawer upstairs! But after my slip yesterday I am NOT testing till Friday!

Repeat to self 'I am NOT bothered either way, in fact a BFN would be quite handy actually. I'm not even bluffing, it's the actual truth...'

eggs how about the Canaries? Lots of lovely sun this time of year xx

rosieposey · 16/03/2010 18:57

Lol im no good either - so i need a good kick as well but sod it i am going to start testing early anyway. I got some very dubious tests on ebay last month and had a couple of false positives from them (see the first photo on my profile) the seller said they supplied the nhs and were able to measure 10 mUI of hcg so i figured that i would be able to start testing around day 8 or 9 dpo. Anyway out of the batch of 15 tests there were two clear distinct second line positives (nothing like evap lines) and it seemed to be where the dye had just flooded the test but till it happened the second time i really did think that maybe just maybe.

I bought the first response ones on bogof from Superdrug so will rely on them although i do still have about 5 midstream 'slightly more expensive plastic ones - they look just like s/burys home brand ones so i might have some fun around 8dpo with those god im terrible. I always get really when i get a negative but nothing beats that high and smile that i wear for hours on end when i first find out im pg

eggsovereasy · 16/03/2010 16:36

Rosie we have the same cycle length, same ov day, same obsession with sticks!!! How will we not give in???

I'm going to order some smileyfaces off ebay - double bluff that!

Holidays - definitely relaxing by the pool with my bump - positive thinking!

Roll on 25th.... kick me!

OP posts:
LittleB · 16/03/2010 15:49

Thanks for the tip will get some of those mid-price e-bay ones next month, hopefully won't need them though! Rosieposey I'm planning to test on the 25th too, although I may end up doing one early but will try to resist!

rosieposey · 16/03/2010 14:42

whoops - i meant 9/10 dpo (not 9/20)

rosieposey · 16/03/2010 14:40

Eggs The smiley faces are good - this is the first month that they have worked for me. I really wanted a CBFM too but i just couldnt pay out all at once for that and the sticks. We have just moved house and things are a bit tight for a couple of months for us.

Saying that i did buy some really cheap opks from ebay and they were utter crap - did not show anything and i used them in conjunction with the smiley faced ones and midstream white sticks that i got (the £7 for 10 ones) from ebay and they still didnt show anything even when i was getting strong positives from the CB Digi and the midstream ones.

I usually get 28 day cycles maybe at a push and rarely 29 but last month it was more like 30, i got a positive on my opk on sunday which made it day 16 - well apparently you dont ovulate for around 24 hours or so after an LH surge soooo that would have made it day 17 or 18 which means i cant test till day 28 or 27 at the very earliest as that will be 9/20 dpo ... grrrr its very annoying ovulating later in your cycle as it will defnately curb my poas addiction this month (which i suppose is a good thing) but 10 days after is still the 25th so roll on next Thursday. There is no point in me symptom spotting either as i dont get MS or anything - just sore boobs ... prodprod

MrsFC · 16/03/2010 14:00

Hello everyone!

Yup - definitely holding out till Friday - just before setting off on my weekend away with wine hopefully. (see the double bluff there - ha!)Very very dumb of me to fall off the POAS wagon so soon! !

LittleB & rosieposey I like the smiley faces. I couldn't get them for about six months where I live so I oredered them on line this month - costing me a fortune, but the two times I fell last year they were when I was using them - it seemed more definite than the two lines one if you know what I mean? Also - the smiley face makes me smile - and you know how I feel about positive thinking this month!

I think I'm going to invest in a monitor next month. When do you need to start using them? Should I order it now? (In a whole double bluff, spending sixty quid I don't have on something I hopefully don't need etc etc)

eggsovereasy, I've had the 21 day test & I just went on day 21 counting the first day of my last period as day one. I didn't consider any other daytes - maybe I should have... Iwent for the day 2-3 test this month - but AF came in fits & starts at the beginning and I couldn't work out what day was what and I think I got it wrong because they've called me back for another.

Onto lighter things...
LittleB, how was your night of fun last night?!!

And holidays... Hmmm - do you want a city break, action adventure, or lazing by the pool?

And a present for DH? I find an xbox game normally does the trick!

Not long till Friday! xxx

eggsovereasy · 16/03/2010 12:49

someone please kick me - I'm boob prodding already!

According to my CBFM I ovulated on CD18/19 (2 days later the usual), so today which is CD20 I already have painful boobs hence the prodding. Or is it just my imagination? Sore boobs = progesterone I think?

LittleB its worth trying if you have regular cycles to show ov!

MrsFC kick in the shins for you will you hold out until Fri?

Rosieposey I might try the smileyfaces, surely I cant got wrong with those!

I have to go for a Day 21 blood test but does anyone know if its better to go 7 days before AF due, or 7 days after ov? I've spent hours googling and only getting more confused?!

I tried the cheapo opk sticks but never seemed to get them to show anything, in daylight, squinty eyes or otherwise, so I invested in a monitor and I am now on month 5... months 1-3 were write-offs due to famiy drama/illness/working away unfortunately, but at least its got used to my cycle.

This 2 ww is a nightmare ....

Might have to book a holiday - any suggestions? Also going off subject - might be a good thing - suggestions for a present for DH who has been an absolute rock over the past few months AAAAhhhhhhhh

rosieposey · 15/03/2010 22:03

LittleB - hope you had some fun (or are having some fun) this eve, just to say - i get my opks on ebay, they are about 7 or 8 quid for 10 and its the first month i have used them. I was a bit dubious so i bought some of the more expensive clearblue digital opks that give you a smiley face to use as well. You are supposed to use the clearblue ones first thing in the morning. Most opks say that you are supposed to use from 10am to 6pm (ish) so i didnt really see how they worked but i used the clearblue digi ones and got my smiley face so started to use the ebay ones as backup to see if the clearblue ones were really on the ball.

Sure enough later in the morning when i poas i got a positive from the ebay opks as well (in fact all day as i did three others till i went to bed!) Suffice to say that as of next month i wont use the more expensive smiley face that you get with the clearblue digi but will stick with the £7 ebay opk's to try and see when i am ovulating as they were definately in tune with the Clearblue.

Perhaps you could give them a go if you could get a rough idea as to when you were ovulating next month? I personally have no luck whatsoever with CM as it seems to be the same all month long and i know that meds can interfere with it too - if i didnt know that i had had a LH surge yesterday i wouldnt have known that i might be ovulating anytime soon - if you do get CM though thats a good thing good luck anyway!

MrsFC · 15/03/2010 20:36

Rosieposey you are right of course. What a dimwit I am. You would think after 15 months i would know better! No more sticks until at least Friday morning before I catch my plane! Thank you for your calm wise words for me and Pandasam too xxx

Little B - your lucky DH - have fun!

LittleB · 15/03/2010 20:11

Oh I wish I could tell when I ov. I know I could get a poas but have promised myself I won't do that and temping until I've been ttc for 6 cycles. TMI alert - last time (dd 4.10)I could tell roughly from CM, but in Nov I had a chunk of my cervix removed due to pre-cancerous cells, hence have only just started to ttc (2nd cycle) and now CM doesn't help. Was on the pill until jan so hadn't ov'd for ages and can't remember when ttc for dd as only took 2 cycles, and before that I was on the pill for 11 years! I may give in and buy some opks next month and not tell DH! DD was saying I was really warm when she got into bed with me this morning - so theres me thinking perhaps that means I'm ovulating now?! Or I could just be warm! Will jump DH later anyway.
