Ok, feel a bit scared actually starting the new thread but here we are, for however long (or short) our time here may be.

Off you go ladies. Welcome () one and all.

OP posts:
liahgen66 · 23/02/2010 13:53

buffy echo what dortgirl said re hair loss, probably just hormones settling. If it goes on however, get it checked as could be a hormone imbalance perhaps.

polly I am "lucky" (?) that I don't have to face work colleagues, I did have to do the school run and ds's dance school so i know how you feel. It's lovely that people are concerned but feeling on the verge of tears anyway is not helped when well meaning people are asking how you are. Yu'll get through it, just take it a day at a atime and if it gets too much, call in sick, it's ok to feel low and surely that counts as sick if you are struggling. ((()))

dirt TTC#2 UCL28 cycle 1 (post mc)? CD? (insert number of days since period started, cd1 is first day of bleeding). I shall add you to list once you have completed.

sarah I'm sorry you are feeling crap, that's the beauty of this thread, we are all going to have easier days, good days and completely shitty days and that's ok. If you want to rant, then please do. If you would prefer to disappear for a few days then that's ok too. We are here when you are ready to come along. I hope you start to feel ok soon. Give your dh a hug, he might be struggling too. It'll make oyu both feel nice.

gina I am so so sorry you have had to make that heartbreaking decision, (echo viv, not at all a choice ) The other thread she mentioned is lovely too. Please feel free to come here whenever you are ready.

Would you like to tell us about your dd? what is her name? (tell me to bugger off if it's too much at the moment) . I hope you find some comfort here.

VivClicquot · 23/02/2010 13:37

Hi Gina

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. I went through something similar in November when my baby girl was discovered to have Turner's Syndrome at 13 weeks. My DH and I are now back to ttc, but the pain of losing her and coming to terms with our 'choice' is still quite raw.

(I say 'choice' as I really don't think it's the right word to describe what I / we have been through, as it implies a voluntary option between two different outcomes. There's no way I would have chosen to go through what I did, which means to me, it wasn't a choice at all. Rather, it was just a really awful and heartbreaking decision. Hope that makes sense.)

Anyway, if it helps, I flit between this thread and the one for women who have chosen to terminate for abnormalities on the Antenatal Tests and Choices section of the site. The ladies over there are just as wonderful and supportive as the ones on this thread, and I feel very lucky to have found them all.

Much love,
Viv xx

SarahMumtoAlex · 23/02/2010 13:37

Goodness, gina xposts earlier, I sure hope it didn't read that I was ignoring you. You clearly are a very strong woman to be looking forward so well, welcome, hope its a supportive place to be

Dirtgirl · 23/02/2010 13:36

Unbuffy, I can only assume that it is the normal pregnancy thing. You don't have your natural hair shedding thing when you're pregnant so you get lots of hair. Then afterwards it falls out, you're not going bald, just shedding the extra.

SarahMumtoAlex · 23/02/2010 13:34

unbuffy hair falling out is quite common after pregnancy, don't worry.

dirtgirl CD is Cycle day; If you are having the first AF after your mc then you are on cycle 1 (you were on WTF till now)

Dirtgirl · 23/02/2010 13:33

Gina, glad you've made it here. I hope you find the support you need, and the place to start hoping for the future.

Dirtgirl · 23/02/2010 13:32

Just trying to put my stats in but don't really know what to put.

dirtgirl TTC#2 UCL28 cycle? CD?

What does CD mean? Also am on 1st AF since mc. What number cycle does that get me on?

CCBloom · 23/02/2010 13:03

AlbaDeTamble the only stats I can share at the moment are TTC#1. I'm not actually sure about my cycle because I have just come off the pill after being on it for 3 years and I actually conceived in December despite being on the pill. Hoping that is a good sign and that when we ttc again things will be fine but after one bad experience I've lost my naive innocence. Will share stats once AF returns and I have a better idea. I have been opened up to the world of measuring BBT so hopefully this will help me get an understanding quickly.

pollybloodyanna - there is nothing easy about coming back to work. I spent my first two days on the verge of tears dodging questions from colleagues about whether I had this bug or that when really I wanted to just be left alone. Third week back now and after having confided in 2 colleagues who are good friends the days are passing easier. Hope your day passes quickly.

Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 12:54

Oh Gina that must be so hard. I think you've been through everyone's worst nightmare having to make that choice. Not everyone on this thread is ttc (see the list) but it's a great place to be for support and the grads list proves that it gets better. Best wishes.

A question (slightly weird) for everybody. Has anybody else had this post pg/mc: my hair is falling out. Not in clumps and patches but much more than normal is brushing/washing out. Hopefully not all but still... Any suggestions?

SarahMumtoAlex · 23/02/2010 12:51

Just checking into this shiny new thread. Sorry to have been so quiet these last few days, finding it harder this cycle, so I'm not much company.

Welcome to all the newbies, though sorry to see you here. Sorry I feel too fuzzy to namecheck everyone but particular thoughts for bigmuther hope you can find some solace here when you are ready

GinaFB · 23/02/2010 12:45

Hello everyone.

I am new here from the June thread. Our DD was diagnosed at 20 weeks with spina bifida and it was felt that as it was so severe we should end the pregnancy. It has been totally devastating but it has totally re affirmed how much we want a family hence I am here!

I know its probably too early to start TTC but mentally I feel like I need to be here so I can start trying again ASAP.

Hopefully that makes sense.....

Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 12:31

Red wine is good for iron too, i've been told...

Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 12:28

I've been eating spinach wraps over the past week to try to bring my iron levels back up. Suprisingly tasty, even if the texture's a bit slushy... Better with cream cheese too .

I can pass some around if anyone fancies... or there's chocolate fingers instead (my parents came for the weekend and brought enough food for 40 people)

And yes wibbly pig is eeeevvvvviiiillll - ever seen him and Dr. Evil in the same room at the same time?

Pollybloodyanna · 23/02/2010 12:23

Hi all, it is my first day back in the office, and I am finding it much tougher than expected. And also exhausting.

Trying to put on a brave face, but people have commented that I look tired (I'm not sleeping particularly well, and was also extremely anaemic). So I could particularly do with at least 2 Gu brownies please.

Oh well. I'm sure I'll get back into it soon.

Hippy I only have the (ahem) back passage shooting pains, and not every time, but i will mention them to the dr when I go to see her (need to check my iron levels are coming back up).

Hello bigmutha, I'm really sorry about your mc - I was also on the August thread, but under a different name.

(Was that thread particularly unlucky do you think?).

I have 2 January babies already, so I feel I am destined to have another. and just to make sure, I am booking a skiing holiday for April (well here's hoping anyway!).

Wibbly Pig LIKES Bananas. Oh God...

Allthe8s · 23/02/2010 11:58

Am here Unbuffy & Alba - have got no cakey things to share today though Trying to be good which is boring.

Bigmutha just sent you a note on the other thread - am thinking of you today x

I have made a boob that a feel guilty about. My stats should read TTC no 3 (sorry no idea where the hash key is on a mac!). I am not trying to forget about DD2 obviously and I have no problem talking about her but when I was on the August thread lots of people kept asking how old she was Anyway seeing as I think most of you know my story now would one of you kind ladies please change the stats when the list is next updated???? Thanks x

Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 11:54

funnily enough feeling better now af is actually here. was getting very gloomy and uncertain before - at least now i know where i stand. but company gratefully accepted as at home alone with grizzly toddler - you girls wot work don't know how good you've got it! If i have to read Wibbly Pig Is Happy (all 6 pages of it) one more time i think i'll go bananas. it's nice to talk to anybody over the age of 2!

Roll on the next month...

AlbaDeTamble · 23/02/2010 11:29

Hi Unbuffy, last thing you need when you're feeling miserable is to find no-one else around, so have some of my morning snack biscuits and I'm off to boil the kettle (working from home today - so I can cry as much as I like)

Thanks to all for getting me through yesterday. Keep telling myself it can only get better... each time I update the list hoping for a new BFP to keep us all positive.

Bigmuther very very best of luck getting through the next few days, I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you and here to hand hold when you need it

CC - welcome and sorry you had to find us, I don't think you noted stats, if you let us know, can add you to the list

hi all

First cheepz I am such a numpty, I was thinking about it in bed last night, (i know I really need to get out more) and realised what you had meant. I almost came back downstairs to post what a fool I am.

Well hopefully i will keep up the trend.

unbuffy sorry you are feeling crap, gu brownies over here if you will thank you very much, Wouldn't like to see them go to waste. I know it's good we know ur bodies are working but "hey Ok, I know now, now get me preggers"

Hi to everyone else. Lets get some positive vibes going on around here.

bigmuther I'm so sorry you will be joining us but we're a lovely bunch of ladies and when you are ready there will be loads of support over here for you. I hope the next few days are as gentle as they can be, and you are able to say goodbye to your little one.

For me, no period today so am hoping i'm going back to 28 days. When I had mc Dec 2008, I was having nice 28 days to the day, after the mc they went to 26 days and last couple were 25 days. When they were 28 days I fell very quickly, once they reduced it took over a year and it didn't work out so am hoping that my cycle becomes back to 28 days and a lovely little sticky bean.

What i am not hoping for is a WTF cycle.

Tested with cheapie today and bfn so quite sure it's not that. Has anyone else been to docs when their period didn't arrive after erpc?

Have good day everyone, amgoing to Ikea tomorrow, will get there in time for cheap brekkie. Have no money but my friend has and it's fun looking around.

OP posts:
Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 11:19

Anybody there today or have I done my usual?

Welcome (sadly) bigmutha, it's so horrible to have to be here but we can all empathise. talking helps, and everyone here is very good at hand-holding. Good luck.

bigmuther65 · 23/02/2010 10:37

Just popped on to say thank you to liahgen66 for the lovely message you left me on the august thread just wanted you to know that i had read it also thanks hippychick littlemiss and Allthe8s sorry if i forgot anyone.
Will come and join you lady,s soon just want to get through the next few days.Shame that we all have to meet in such horrible circumstances

Unbuffy · 23/02/2010 10:22

Morning girls, how is everyone on this shiny shiny new thread?

Can someone please sling me waaay back down to the bottom of the list please - not even going to bother testing as af has made her prescence known with a vengeance this morning. Not quite sure how i feel about that, but at least it explains why i've been such a miserable cow for the past week and why dh and i had a screaming row all yesterday and why i've been so hungry and craving chocolate brownies.

Craving now past (mostly) but there's lots left . Actually i think i ate too many over the weekend... slight sick feeling...

just phoned dh who is in Ikea (he's on an off shift, we are trying to fit a new kitchen, you get the idea) to give him the news and he went all shocked and said 'oh, well, not the sort of thing anyone usually says over the phone, etc' but i think he got the idea that it's a sort of excuse for being horrible recently. we're both trying to be positive, that at least (as he put it) 'everything's working'. hmmmm.

On the baby dates thing, I was looking forward to a summer/autumn baby as dd was born new year's eve and i didn't want another Christmas baby. but. Don't want to wait another whole year to get preg if i can possibly avoid it. Even if it does mean the horrors of swi regularly (have sex issues ).

Appologies for long post, also for not namechecking, hello everybody, will try to be less lurky and more present now i know what's going on and am (hopefully) less misribull.

It's snowing!

Cheepz · 23/02/2010 09:26

liah I meant what hippy said - Totally started 1st thread - she now has baby, can't remeber who started 2nd, thisk it was TFLS - she is now pregnant, Lee started 3rd, she is also now pregnant, sooo bodes well for you ! xx

Allthe8s · 23/02/2010 09:22

Morning everyone!

Well done liahgen66 for starting a new thread.

I wish all you lovely brave ladies a better more smiley day today

That is great news about the lady that started the thread.

xx
