Ok, feel a bit scared actually starting the new thread but here we are, for however long (or short) our time here may be.

Off you go ladies. Welcome () one and all.

OP posts:
randomimposter · 02/03/2010 16:12

Laura FWIW I was CONVINCED after my first MMC that I would get pregnant quickly. (However waited for first period to start TTC - I ALWAYS do what the medical profession say ). Had got pregnant both previous times first month of trying. I tested a couple of times but BFNsss. It was just sadly a long first cycle, 33 days compared to usual 26 days. I then had 2 short cycles and got pregnant on cycle 4.

BUT many people DO fall straight away again. If you're only 3 weeks from MC you're really on the WTF cycle so who knows!? Good luck though. Just don't get too down (like I did) if it's not a BFP. x

VivClicquot · 02/03/2010 16:10

Hahaha. You're all devil women. Maybe tomorrow then. We'll see...

lauraloo09 · 02/03/2010 15:57

oh this is exciting with people thinking about testing I'm only 3 weeks past my mc and i had sharp pains the other night on my left side hip but put that down to the mc. I have been tempted to test, as not been using protection, but worried about getting a BFN...should I test or leave it?!?!

Cheepz · 02/03/2010 15:53

viv I am going to say it!!!!! do an early test I had sharp stabbing pain when I had implantation ... just sayin' (and got bfp - very faint mind - at 11 dpo)

come on, please bump me off the bottom of the grads

randomimposter · 02/03/2010 15:44

Hi Bunny and Laura - welcome and sorry you're here.

Viv I'm not going to say the T word. Out loud anyway....

Polly I think I remember that. How lovely has it been here this week? DS and I had Pret picnic on the beach today - it was SO warm!

Alba believe it or not, March 9th is the quickest at Lewes hospital. If I waited for a scheduled slot at the Royal Sussex it's something like last week in March . I did comtemplate looking at going private but I just resent it. Besides might need to save my pennies for assisted conception the rate I'm going...

Lia don't fancy doing my back garden too...?

VivClicquot · 02/03/2010 15:28

Hi Bunny and hi Laura xx

Liah and Alba - you are VERY bad influences

(About an hour ago, I had the worst sharp stabbing pain on my waist / above my hip on the left hand side. Very very odd. So am now sorely tempted... )

Actually Liah - I think you should test again. I will, if you will...

lauraloo09 · 02/03/2010 15:18

liahgen66 I mc'd naturally just found out I was pregnant then I had a lot of brown discharge then past a clot and tests came back negative so my midwife (who's a family friend) advised I'd lost the baby...even tho I never experienced a lot of pain or bright red bleeding but was told this was because it was so early in my pregnancy that I mc'd, even tho it was really early in my pregnancy i was still devastated but now eager to try again x

BunnyBaby · 02/03/2010 14:55

Hello all,

Swore I'd have a break from Mumsnet, but seeing the familiar names on here has given me the confidence to come back.

My DS1 is now 2 and I concieved DS2 in October, so was on the August thread. I found out I lost him at the 12 week scan and got to meet him following a Medical Management, it was a MMC. We think we lost him at 11+2 according to sonographer, no reason known, my symptoms started to diminish the following day, so I had a suspicion going into scan, but still hoped it was an easier pregnancy. I have a good priest from when I was a child so we took him with us from the hospital, and buried him at the top of the grave where my Great and Grandparents are, together with my still-born uncle, so it feels he is safe with family.

I got my first AF last week at 29 days from the passing of the last piece of pregnancy tissue. The AF was a little heavier but just like normal. I only bled for a week, but then spotted until just past when I think I ovulated. We did have it once, but that was just after that time, and I was worried about infection with the light spotting.

Went back to work last week, and spent most of the time fighting back tears despite 4 weeks off. This was worse than returning after DS1. Am hoping to conceive again soon as DS1 needs some buddies and gets bored with me and DH.

One of my colleagues just got a BFP after 3 years + IVF so really thrilled for her. But like others jealous of those pregnant or about to give birth. As I also wanted DS2 to make it to 9 months.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone who was on the August 2010 thread, NorthLondon, Liahgen, BigMutha, I also recognise Allthe8s and LittleMiss72 but not sure if from miscarriage threads. Apologies to anyone else I may have missed.

I'm feeling depressed about carrying the extra 7lbs since I lost baby as it feels like I should be pregnant with the weight.

Looking forwards to Centerparcs this weekend with DH and DS1 and my brother.

Hope everyone is well?

Hello all, hope you are ok today. I work as a fitness instructor and carried on teaching right through first two pregnancies, midwife said it helped greatly with births and recovery.
Exactly like AlbaDeTample said as long as you keep cool, keep drinking plenty of water and don't overdo it there is nothing better especially to keep strees away as well.Am going back to work next week after ERPC and although I am dreading it I know it is the one thing that will take my mind off it and may help with the ttc again. Good luck all, happy exercising.
(Also I tried for 2 years for#3 done loads more exercise in November and that was the month I fell, so who knows!)

liahgen66 · 02/03/2010 14:38

ah I'm sorry to hear that. Did you mc naturally or have an erpc? (sorry if you've explained all this before)

I'm 6 wks post erpc and no period so wondered how far you were past.

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 02/03/2010 14:36

around 3 weeks now

liahgen66 · 02/03/2010 14:33

laura how long is it now since your mc?

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 02/03/2010 14:29

hiya everyone sorry not been on for ages, just kinda got lost in my own wee world. I would love to update my stats here but as period not arrived since mc I'm not sure what CD i'm on lol

Went back to work yesterday for 1st time in nearly a year and my DD (8mths) was great at being left with family hope this continues. My DD is really keeping me going just now and its great, she's nearly walking now

I think all the time about what I've been through and think of all you lovely ladies that would have been further on than me I often wonder what it would have been like right now if I were still pregnant, but if one good thing has came out of this is that me and DH are actively TTC'ing again still doesn't take the pain away of losing this baby

I will catch up with you all tonight when I get home from work and karate take care lovely ladies x

liahgen66 · 02/03/2010 14:16

viv i would be sorely tempted to test at 11 days dpo. sorry we are absolutely no help are we?

No alba I haven't tested since last Monday when it was a very clear bfn. TO be honest i have no faith in the cheapies and i really really can't afford a good test.

No symptoms to speak of, have gone off food but no extra hunger if that makes sense, and weeing alot as opposed to being able to hold it but that could be anything. Food thing could be anything, just don't fancy anything. Boobs feel a bit tingly on and off but again, all very vague.

Have made the most of the sunshine and cleaned up back garden, kids can actually use the slide if they want to now, and my front garden no longer looks like steptoes yard, (though to be fair, i did pay ds1 to clear that)

I am very tempted to test but hey ho. I hadve doc appt for next monday so we'll see what he says.

hope everyone else is well, the sun does cheer you up a bit doesn't it?

AlbaDeTamble · 02/03/2010 13:41

Hi all, quick lunchtime catchup and there are so many posts!

jollster I still can't get over you being made to wait quite so long... second what someone else said about there maybe being another hospital you could go to? Someone did advise me to go to an EPU out of area as they had shorter waits - actually it was the Eastbourne EPU I was advised to try, if you're in Brighton that's not so far away? Otherwise, I hope you have plenty more forbidden foods to keep you going!

hippy, I think you start to get EWCM a few days before ovulation... so keep on with the sticks a little longer. I love the Isle of Wight, used to go there a lot as a child so has fond memories for me.

CC, have updated you. Here's to starting cycle 1 on the 1st of the month being a lucky charm for us both! Curiously the long list of blood tests I managed to get ordered when I insisted I wanted to rule out anything easily detectable and treatable that could have caused my MC, rubella wasn't on the list.... though I guess I did have it checked whilst pg 3 years ago, so maybe it's not a possibility? I'm kind of happy it's a fresh cycle as I should have blood test results before any possible BFP and can then feel just a little more confident. I like the fresh start idea too. Feeling confident today.

LittleMiss and goodluckbear good for you both with the exercise regimes! And Viv am impressed with the 10k run... I'm feeling a bit pathetic in comparison to you all, I really should do more, but never find the time, kid myself that running round after a toddler, and my walk from station to work are enough.... maybe a nice long spring walk this weekend, if the good weather stays with us that long.

The only thing I was ever warned about re exercise in pregnancy was not to get too hot or let heart rate get too high (so no really tough interval training). And now I've just seen your post Polly, you're all putting me to shame! Maybe I should dig out those trainers...

Viv I tested at 11dpo with my last pg and got a very faint line on an internet cheapy.... sorry, you didn't want encouragement to test too soon, did you - but as Jollster put it, we all need a bfp to coo over... fx for you.

talking of which, liahgen, have you tried testing again? maybe that's why no AF yet...??

Pollybloodyanna · 02/03/2010 13:20

goodluckbear, I think exercise is ok when pregnant, but you shouldn't necessarily take up a new exercise at that time.

Perhaps its something in the air - I also started running again yesterday - I put on weight over christmas/eating through morning sickness and haven't managed to lose it at all.

ooh good luck Viv - sorry being dense about your earlier post!

wannabeamum · 02/03/2010 13:10

I was told by my GP to stop going to the gym once I found out i was expecting. It seemed really weird to me, but I did as I was told and all I have to show for it is a rather chubby belly! I shant be listening to that again. Goodluckbear you have inspired me to hit the gym tonight!

VivClicquot · 02/03/2010 13:04

I am. AF due on Sat so trying to resist doing anything foolish testing between now and then.

Pollybloodyanna · 02/03/2010 13:00

Jollster I think I remember from speaking to you before (may have been in my old name) that you live in Brighton? i do too!

Sorry you ahve to wait for your erpc, I did too, but then it all happened naturally.

Goodluckbear, I've been thinking about the whole swi thing, and don't think that partners should be allowed to be put off if we tell them we are ovulating! I think it is really childish, and also why shouldn't dps share the stress of this a bit? Anyway, I told dh this, and he has been alot better recently - even making the first move sometimes!

Still no period here - i'm about 31 days after mc, and no signs of anything (including ovulation). I just wish af would come now so I knew what was happening. I'll probaby be one of those people that waits 8 weeks though.

Good luck to everyone else - anyone due to test this week?

VivClicquot · 02/03/2010 12:34

ps. 10 dpo here and I'm so frikkin bored of waiting either a) for AF to show or b) to test. Lots of odd twinges here and there but nothing else to report. Bored bored bored.

VivClicquot · 02/03/2010 12:32

Goodluckbear - I did the Manchester 10km run last May whilst unknowingly being 6 weeks pregnant. (We didn't find out until I was 7 weeks.) The midwife I spoke to after I found out said it wouldn't be an issue at all and actively encouraged me to keep running, as keeping fit and healthy can only be good during pregnancy.

Muser · 02/03/2010 12:15

Exercise away Goodluckbear, you won't shake anything loose.

I had huge amounts of bleeding last night, which has calmed down today. I think the methotrexate is working. More blood tests tomorrow to measure my HCG levels. I am hoping for a quick return to Not Pregnant as officially my 3 month TTC ban doesn't start until the treatment has properly worked and I can start taking folic acid again.

Goodluckbear · 02/03/2010 11:51

P.S. I also meant to say, in response to the issue of DHs not wanting to know about ovulation because of "being under pressure" - that's why I think we missed the boat last week, as I made a big deal about it and that put him off. I will not be making a big deal about it next month, I'm just going with the every other day approach and not tell him why.....

xxxxxxxx

Goodluckbear · 02/03/2010 11:37

Hi all,

I feel like I've missed everything and am too slow to catch up - pages of posts from over the weekend! I just wanted to drop in though and say hi to new guys, sorry about what you're going through.

Jollster - I'm so sorry, really sorry, that this has happened again. There are no platitudes, I hope you are getting lots of hugs in RL.

I have a paranoid question to ask - just for your opinions - I am on a health drive at the moment (only thing I feel I have control over!) and am doing a big workout everyday. On the remote off chance (as think we missed our chance actually when I look back on it) that I did conceive, say, last week - do you think it's ok to keep doing loads of exercise, or would it shake it all loose? I would NEVER ask such a crazy lady question before, but now I only have to pull a muscle and I assume I've done myself a mischief and will never conceive again. Er, what's wrong with me, am a loon!!

xxxxxxxxxxx

Hopefully · 02/03/2010 10:42

Hippychick my DP used to live on the IOW, I used to go down there every weekend . Ahhh, the memories . It's a bit bleak in winter as it all shuts down, but it is just the loveliest place from about March till October. As long as you don't have to get public transport - the buses are insanely expensive! FWIW, I count the egg whitey day as OV day, but since we've gone with the 'shag every other day from about day 8 till day 20' method of conception, I don't panic too much about it (I've fallen pregnant twice like this in a total of five months of trying, so it must work a bit!)

Good luck at the hosp wannabe, and ignore your silly male colleagues, they don't have a clue.
