Ok, feel a bit scared actually starting the new thread but here we are, for however long (or short) our time here may be.

Off you go ladies. Welcome () one and all.

Sauvignon blanc, yes please! But still an hour and a half to work. Boo.

Urd, love your poem and nearly cried over yours and Vivs Chinese lanterns. Just heard a colleague and his wife due 3 days after I was... Just when you think you've stopped needing to sob at work.... V happy for them though, they've been through it, more than I have, baby is by surrogate...

VivClicquot · 12/03/2010 15:40

Hahaha

And no more googling for me. It's Friday, it's nearly four o'clock, it's time for a nice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc, non?

xx

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 15:37

See, that was supposed to read 'c*ck it up'.

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 15:36

Has anybody done today's list btw? I would, but see previous comments about srapness. I mean crapness. I wouldn't dare as am bound to cc it up completely, or lose it, or somefink. [stupid emoticon]

thefatladyscreams · 12/03/2010 15:32

Oh Viv - just popped in briefly and read your honeymoon story with tears in my eyes. That's beautiful - I reckon Gracie was trying to cheer you both up xxx

Urd - that poem is so beautiful. Really sums it up for me. Thank you.

Sorry haven't scanned back - this thread is moving so quickly nowadays which is great.

Hope everyone is doing OK. I've noticed SWI getting adopted all over MNet at the moment!

sakura28 · 12/03/2010 15:30

Haha thanks unbuffy - I am also a bit rubbish with computers so no need to apologise! I'll go and have a look on that thread now, think I may need it in next few days, eek!

Will also have a look for tesco cheapies next time I'm in, fab.

off to step away thread now xxx

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 15:25

It's called 'I'm back to help all you premature testers STEP AWAY FROM THE FIRST RESPONSE!'

Sorry again about crap computer skills

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 15:24

Hi Sakura i use cheeepies (Tesco offers!) as am broke, but can slip those into the trolley when dh is paying and he don't complain. bless 'im. Have just joined a Step Away From the Tests thread to attempt to keep me on the straight 'n' narrow - would do a link if i could but total computer ignoramus - come see... hang on, will find title and get back to you [puts Sakura on hold, here's the musak]
da da daaada da...

sakura28 · 12/03/2010 15:20

Hi again all,

unbuffy just wanted to add to symptom spotting - I have to wait 1 more week to test and am also looking out for symptoms like mad, currently I think I have to wee more, been feeling a teeny bit sick now and then, oh god its hard not to get hopes up isn't it?!

If you don't mind me asking unbuffy, do u use the first response tests where u can test a few days earlier or do u wait until missed period? Just being nosy really!

Thanks xxx

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 15:20

Viv STEP AWAAAAY FROM THE GOOGLE!!! Tis the devil's work.

VivClicquot · 12/03/2010 15:01

I'd be surprised if it's ov pain as I'm only on day 6, but I suppose it's possible. My one brief look at google suggests it may be a cyst due to the egg not being released like it should, but I'm too scared to look any more as google 'ovarian pain' and you get reams of scary stories!

HappyGirl1 · 12/03/2010 14:50

I'm all weepy here reading the latest posts. Urd that poem is just beautiful and just sums it all up perfectly.

Viv lovely story of your honeymoon, sad story obviously but a very thoughtful thing to do.. Re the pains I'm not sure.. potentially early ov pains? I do personally get left pelvic pain all the time but that's just crazy old me and there is no real timeline to it..

I've now given up alcohol and caffeine.. getting the lack of caffeine headaches today but hopefully it'll be worth it!

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 14:44

pps waves to all non-name-checked folkses, and best to all - yummy Friday pastries, let me add some high cocoa solids, low fat (due to conversation earlier in the week) brownies to the table!

Unbuffy · 12/03/2010 14:40

Afternoon everyone.

Hippy I would complain. That's what the Patients' Charter is there for - and how are doctors/consultants ever going to learn if they make mistakes that are not corrected? He will probably never discover that he mistook a corpus luteum for a cyst unless he is told so - in which case it's only a matter of time before the same thing happens again, to some other poor person. But that does not in any way stop it sucking for you. A lot.

Urd also nearly a wreck and a mess at your pome. but holding it together, just about.

Viv, no ideas but sounds v. peculiar. Have you poas again/ done ov test? May be late ov?

On the Buffy front, we're still all colds-a-gogo... urgh - pass the decongestant (that word just took 8 attempts to spell. and still not sure it's right. think i'll stick with lemsip in future.) dh and i went out (!!!) to dinner last night - v posh restaurant we never go to, v delicious food I'm certain, and could taste none of it . He kept telling me how good it was. ah well. Would have put it off but babysitter booked etc.

Also, i know it's stupid to symptom spot on, like, day 18, but i've had indigestion for some days and i feel really sick too. plus constant need to pee. must keep blaming the flu... must keep blaming the flu... must not get hopes up...

ps don't tell anyone in rl I'm being a wishful thinking numpty - it's all part of the **ing jealous stage -

VivClicquot · 12/03/2010 14:11

Aw Urd, that's lovely (and has made me cry)

On the final night of our honeymoon in Thailand, DH and I had a private dinner on the beach during which we let off two chinese lanterns in memory of the two babies we'd lost. The hotel staff kept saying newlyweds should only light one as it's for good luck, so in the end I had to expain why we needed two.

So we lit the first one in honour of the baby we lost in July (mmc) and watched it go; by this point, I'm a sobbing wreck.

Then we lit the second in honour of Gracie who we lost the week before our wedding at 14 weeks. We let it go. And the little bugger got stuck in a nearby tree.

It sounds awful when I write it down - especially as the hotel staff had to try and poke the lantern out with a pole before the whole tree caught alight - but it made me and DH laugh through the tears as it very much felt like our little girl was trying to tell us something.

sakura28 · 12/03/2010 14:01

Hi everyone, I am clearly not logging on enough to stay up to date with this thread! however will try my best to in future...

Urd, I love that poem you have just posted, was very close to having a little blub except for the fact that I am at work and might have got some strange looks from colleagues! It really sums things up for me, hope u don't mind but I have made a little note of it in my diary

Anyway, I have an appointment at the EPU at the end of this month ( after having 3 mcs in a row) not really sure what to expect, anyone had anything similar? Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated!

Sending out positive thoughts xxx

urd · 12/03/2010 13:39

Hi all, what a week I've had , have not had time to catch up on thread will sit down tonight and read through it properly so sorry not to namecheck.
Well it was my Birthday on Weds - the big 40 and my DD Birthday yesterday (7).To be honest I was absolutely dreading this week, not because of hitting the big 40, but becauseof the MC wasn't up for socialising. Well went back to work on Tues and everyone was brilliant, they had balloons up and really made an effort, they all knew what had happened so probably didn't know what to do for the best, but it was great. We had a glass of champagne and they really took my mind off things. I was going to phone in sick again in the morning, I'm so glad I didn't.My family were great too, really made an effort. My mum has been so great throughout all this. She bought me some chinese lanterns because we watched them all going up in the air New Years Eve (they say you say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new as you let them off). Iknew in my heart why she had bought them.Any way had a lovely two days. My DD had a lovely Birthday, her and my DS(11) never knew about the MC, We found out at the 12 week scan, no heartbeat, we were going to tell them that night- never mind one day.On the night of our Birthdays we let off 2 chinese lanterns which the kids loved. When they were in bed me and my DH got another one out and wroteon it, something that I read on another thread which has stayed with me:
"No name, no face, no date of birth,
No hour of death, no mound of earth,
You never breathed, kicked or cried,
But to us you lived and died."

We let it off, had some tears but it felt right. I'm not writing this to make anyone feel sad, it just helped us, maybe it can help someone else.
We will try and look forward now, I felt so desperate for the last two weeks but this week I feel fine. I know some weeks are going to be bad and vice versa, but if your'e sitting there sad today- happier times will come your way.

Here's to a few more POSITIVES this week. Take care all.xx

VivClicquot · 12/03/2010 13:36

Afternoon ladies - hope we're all looking forward to the weekend.

So as you know, appeared on Sat/Sun but only lasted until Monday lunchtime. Very light and very quick. Since yesterday morning, I've had a dull and uncomfortable ache on the left side of my pelvis, near where my ovaries would be. Any ideas what it might be?

Just called the doctors to make an appointment but the earliest they can get me in is Tuesday. Obviously I'm not thinking it's pregnancy due to negative test last week and then onset of , but obviously due to my history (and the fact that we're desperately TTC) I'm a bit concerned. Don't want to google for fear of scaring myself silly...

xxx

Goodluckbear · 12/03/2010 10:26

Ah Mummy369 - I'm sure it never rains but it pours!!

Friday is pastry day, tuck in. They are virtual pastries, so you can eat lots.

Time to break it down:

  • Two hours until lunch (will buy something nice and special as is Friday)
  • Then two hours to afternoon tea (nice cup of tea and a biscuit)
  • Then two more hours until home time (going to have a nice glass of red when I get home)

Suddenly the day is not so poo!!

Hippy your consultant sounds like my plumber, knows eff all. In fact, maybe he is my plumber in his day job or something. Have a rant at him before you pay, in fact, give me his number and I'll do it, am feisty today!! Giving him a virtual jab to the eyes right now.

Big wave to everyone else, sorry not to namecheck!!

xxxxxxxxx

HappyGirl1 · 12/03/2010 10:09

Good Morning Ladies, hope we are all feeling some / even a small bit of positivity today as it's Friday :-)

Sparklyrainbow thinking of you lots, take it really easy and i dont know but somehow it slowly gets better

I'm feeling a very small bit more positive, i got a positive on ov test last night and myself and DH managed to SWI.. even if it doesn't work I think it's a big hurdle as we were both quite nervous so fingers crossed, now back to the waiting game.. such a small chance it would happen with only one SWI but i can't help but hope

wannabeamum · 11/03/2010 22:53

sparklyrainbow I can't offer any advice at the mo but wanted to let you know that I too mc-ed on valentines day and so far no RTD here either - I'm expecting another 3 week wait or so? Going from what I have heard and I too am feeling a bit low at the mo and feeling fat- maybe it's our hormone levels and come sat we will feel better? Hope so, thinking of you xx

Mummy369 · 11/03/2010 22:32

sparklyrainbow that's ok - will have to name change in a couple of weeks anyway to 3 6 10, but can't go backwards!

sparklyrainbow · 11/03/2010 21:57

269 Mummy369 oops, sorry!

sparklyrainbow · 11/03/2010 21:55

Hi all

Hippy consultant sounds crap, would be tempted to complain to someone maybe? Not sure who or how that works mind...

Hi to everyone new (this thread moves so quickly can?t seem to keep up with new names), will just say ElfMum your last RTD was the same as mine, I mc at 8,2, started Valentines Day and now waiting to see what happens, the mc bleeding lasted a week and cycle really is WTF, don?t think I have ovulated or that I?m approaching a RTD*, have no signs of anything as far as I've noticed! I had a natural mc (never again), can anyone offer experience of how long it took for everything to get back to normal?

*Much prefer RTD to AF as you may have noticed

Mummy269 - why does everything go wrong, couldn?t agree more. Have had enough of it recently: mc, dog in vets repeatedly and has had to have 2 general anaesthetics, and was told Monday that someone in my department of four at work will be made redundant and that the three posts with responsibility are being merged (so one person gets the higher role and the others become mainscale). Timing is rubbish, was told Monday. Had just begun to feel a little bit more positive after the mc, start of some nicer weather and feeling like maybe there was some hope and now I?ve been knocked back to feeling miserable and worried ? and I can?t get motivated to do anything and am feeling stressed/like I can't cope and really tired again. Grrrr. The fact I also put a bit of weight on doesn?t help how miserable I am feeling .

Good news barren, glad everything is ok. Here?s hoping for some sticky beans for us all x

barrenbrook · 11/03/2010 19:45

ElmMum, welcome sorry you are here and sorry for your loss. You will find solace here, the ladies are faboolus.

AF is Aunt Flo but we are currently campaigning to replace it with or RTD (red tide of doom)!

SarahMumtoAlex Hope you're OK and that the last was just a blip. Thinking of you.

DH got results from Docs today and apparently he has good sperm count and motility but the morphology isn't brilliant. She said this isn't anything to worry about as I'm getting pg, the beans just aren't sticking.

Good to know we're both OK, slightly irritating that the beans aren't sticking in my slack womb though !
