Ok fellow ditherers, as we have filled up one thread (and still not made too many firm decisions) here's another one for us to continue to procrastinate and worry on.

Here's to more monitoring of relative green and redness, mutual support and occassional chivving, discussion of everything baby or not baby related, and perhaps even our first BFP...?

tk maxx is my happy hunting ground! never know what amazing stuff one can find the next moment!

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 23:07

Not neccessarily this one but that kind of feel I like for beds. I like them to feel both clean and cozy (not always easy with the cats sleeping on our pillow's or wriggling into it!)

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 23:05

My friend swears by TK Maxx. Never looked for home stuff in there, just loitered by the shoes and then got flummoxed at the rails and rails of jumbled up clothes.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 23:03

Love all of this but the muted candy bedlinen.

And I am LOVING those stripes!

Hmmm, may need to curb the stripe lust so I don't end up with headache inducing decor!

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 23:03

tk maxx great for posh bedding on budget i find. not always guaranteed that you'll find something but that's the fun of it

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 22:59

Is that panelling on the wall in that pic? I am not sure what DH would say, but I quite like it.

I have to say though, I cannot bear scatter cushions! They look good when the bed is made but then they end up on the floor or in the way or both!

Love some of the Toast interiors things. The bedding especially. We got most of ours from Ikea and it's okay but it would be wonderful to have some 'posh' stuff!

Will try find some examples but may be back empty handed as laptop is being a bit too slow for my lack of patience...

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 22:58

eek i meant this. thats what comes of posting without previewing.

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 22:57

oh my god i could spend HOURS on the stripes on Collection&productid=Kilo Collection this site!
in stripe heaven right now!

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 22:54

and the lovely colour combination here. not a fan of blue walls though generally but somehow the yellow punches it with warmth.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 22:53

I am all for things that are easy to care for, especially in places where the dog goes! We need to be able to measure up in the kitchen to get an idea of what to put where but have been compiling some pics of styles we like. I also am keen on the idea of making a blind, stripy of course, for the window.

And I LOVE Belfast sinks!

My god I want to move! Come on you buyers!!

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 22:49

love the look of this bedroom here and this.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 22:00

Hmm, that could work well actually.

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 21:57

here is the glass alternative- perspex sheet prices- check the tabulator at the bottom.
all you would have to do is paste wallpaper, tthen drill perspex on top.
3mm think clear perspex, 3050 mm x 2030 mm, gloss finish looks like £155.22.
the only thing i'm thinking is the perspex would have to be fitted on nicely to avoid a space for mould to grow. hence probably better not to use contoured wallpaper which could potentially leave a small space between the paper and the perspex.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 21:49

Ad break.

A chandelier in the bathroom is exactly what I was planning on!

Shame the horses wallpaper isn't on the website for Farrow and Ball. We want to have that - but limited to half the wall with white panelling on the other half - with the seperate shower and bath with feet. I like the idea, as the majority of it will be black and white, of having a colourful chandelier.

I also LOVE glass spashbacks rather than tiles but that's unfortunately too expensive (at least £800-900 from what I can gather.)

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 21:49

ooh blitz street sounds interesting.
our house escaped the blitz but the row next to it got bombed out of existence.
i can't imagine how terrifying it mut have been.

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 21:40

{ obtusely carries on with decor ideas }
they used a stencil here but the same thing could be done with wallpaper and a sheet of transparent pespex on top, as a backsplash behind the washbasin.
some great stencilling ideas here but the same thing could be replicated with wallpaper.i particular i thought with the green and white wall and the tongue and groove panelling and the red chandelier is really nice. you could consider a chandelier in the bathroom- looks so luxurious!!

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 21:32

Hi SeaGreen, back properly after Blitz Street - thanks!

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 21:29

Out of the blue drinky thing. He is the most conventional and, well, normal person you could ever hope to meet. Very steady indeed.

Which made it all the weirder.

I think I was semi negative about the possible baby planning. Lots of 'we're fine as we are' 'don't want to complicate things' 'like the fact I don't wee when I laugh' - that kind of thing.

Glad it's not just me who pretends to be far redder than they actually are!

SeaGreen · 10/05/2010 21:28

Just want to say confused in the blitz of sites I will no doubt post, please don?t feel obliged to say something is nice or you like it, out of politeness- decor is so highly subjective- different strokes for different folks!
Bathroom colour combos here and a lovely bright bathroom here if brights are to your taste. here is a beautiful before and after bathroom job ? I personally find this colour beautiful in a bathroom!!

HoneyPetal · 10/05/2010 21:26

The tickle was....odd. Have you picked up any vibes on other occasions or is it an out of the blue drinky thing?

What did you say to the baby planning? Did you agree? I know exactly what you mean about just ranting on and being more negative than you feel. I've totally done that myself a couple of times this month alone.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 21:15

Indeed. On both points too.

Not sure what else to add really!

HoneyPetal · 10/05/2010 20:57

Bloody hell.

On both points.

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 20:54

Think it ought to be okay now it's slightly out the way. Can still discuss (only if want to, obviously) but didn't want the original (and recognisible) first post too easy to see!

confuseddoiordonti · 10/05/2010 20:52

That'll do. As long as the original nitty gritty post is far away from where I (we? hopefully we) will be typing it's okay.

Sorry about that gals, but sure you can see why!

HoneyPetal · 10/05/2010 20:52

Good lord, do we need a new page, then??
