Neeko · 23/02/2010 10:37

LBM Glad you had a good time in Edinburgh. Will that be your last holiday as a family of four (and a half)? Hope the class goes well today.

4ever Hope that right now you're gazing at your DD on the screen and being reassured that she is perfect.

MLS Have to agree on the breastpumps. Makes me feel a bit queasy!

4everhopeful · 23/02/2010 07:01

Weeble weeble wobble wobble...

littlebellsmum · 22/02/2010 22:17

Don't know about logging back in rubbish but cropping messages - lo was supposed to be Hello!

littlebellsmum · 22/02/2010 22:16

lo lovely ladies!

We had a lovely time in Edinburgh - went to the castle, museum, gallery, mus of childhood ( twice!), Britania, the park that MLS mentioned and swimming every day as the apartment had a pool. Had lunches out everyday and didn't spend a fortune - all in all a lovely break. The kids loved going on the sleeper train but , cosy as it was, we got little sleep!
Also went with another family , so didn't need to cook everynight or wash up at all - bliss in my mind! However I came back with a stinky cold and felt rotten all weekend - there is nothing worse than being pregnant and having a cold. Normally my remedy of choice is lots of hot toddys or lemsip if I'm really desperate - obviously they are off the agenda and lemon and honey isn't the same without the brandy! However sadly I felt well enough to go to work today.
Final me bit - I have my first antenatal refresher class tomorrow which is a bit but finally I am starting to look pregnant not just plain fat, which is a relief.

And now, to everyone else - barbie - more congrats, hope you are enjoying every early cuddle, they are really special and nothing beats them.

Cupcake and neeko - re breast pumps - I have had both an electric and also a manual. To be honest, they were much of a muchness - the electric was a bit more aggressive but certainly didn;t get more milk out than the manual. This time I think I'll contact the NCT and see if I can hire one of their industrial ones, if I decide I need one - might be worth looking in your area to see if the have any near you?

Iggy How much mat leave is really up to you and when you start. My choice was dictated by money and also by wanting to have as much time off after the baby arrived and so for my first 2, I worked to 37 weeks and then went back when they were both about 5 months old. This time, I'm doing around the same. I would love to have finished earlier, especially as DS arrived 2 days after I finished work ()and also as I@m so much more tired but finance/ circumstance ditates otherwise.

4ever Fingers crossed for tomorrow - enjoy seeing your little girl again. Mine has been a wriggly one again today - I'm hoping she will wriggle at the right time for DD to feel the wriggle , she is so excited about it. She said the other day that she hopes the baby comes soon - I'd been lying on the seette at bed time and I think she wants her mummy back who takes her to bed and has a little chat with her!

Hello to all the poor knackered yummy mummies - vjay, blue and annie - I think the pregnancy tiredness is just training for the baby tiredness which is a whole new level!
Anyway, got to go - DH has just spent all evening trying to put DS's new bike together and has managed it. But the learning here is to go secodn hand everytime as you don't need to worry about construction!

MLS good luck for Wednesday - all the signs sound good, espcially your lovely accupuncture lady

Hi to everyone else - will be back for more personals tomorrow

MummyLovesSadie · 22/02/2010 22:13

What the hell is going on with all this logging back in malarkey???

MummyLovesSadie · 22/02/2010 22:12

Phew, I was about to start thinking you really are superwoman!

VJay · 22/02/2010 21:36

mls of cousre I get it online

MummyLovesSadie · 22/02/2010 21:00

Forgot to mention Vjay, thanks for your hand on Wednesday. Do you go to the shops for your food shopping or get it online..... please tell me you get it online?!

I think we need some new recruits on our thread.

MummyLovesSadie · 22/02/2010 20:57

Hello lovely chatty ladies, God I'm knackered. I don't know how single mothers cope.

Neeko glad you are making the most of the start of your mat leave. I bet you crossed loads off your list today. With regard to breast pumps, I found my electric one much better than the manual one I had. You can actually hire them from the nct - personally I think that is wrong on every level but that's just my opinion!

Barbie how many hours have you spent gazing at that little doll-face of yours.

4ever I'll be thinking of you at 10.30 tomorrow. I'm sure everything is going to be just fine. Yes I did tell my parents, they never go overboard anymore when I tell them I'm pregnant as I've told them that four times & only have one take-home-baby. I'm going on my own on Wednesday - I'm happy for it to be like that as I don't want to have to chat inanely to anyone & I'll be able to get into 'the zone'!

Blue I loved being able to have the freedom to do whatever I wanted when I started my mat leave. I remember being in a lift in a shopping centre & a couple looked at my massive bump & asked when I was due. I had to think about it & I said "Errrrr today actually"!

Gracie I'd love one of those cd's if that's ok, shall I send you my address on Facebook? How is the breastfeeding going now?

Cupcake good luck with the house hunting - you must be absolutely fed-up with it now.

Iggy I planned to leave work 2 weeks before my due date but left four weeks before instead. I was on crutches as basically all of the ligaments in my feet collapsed & I had to commute all the way from Surrey to NW London. I planned on taking a year off but never went back! I really didn't find the heat a problem in the Summer. We spent a week in Tunisia in June when I was 6 months pregnant & it was fine.

I find it funny that so many of you hate having your bumps touched - I used to love it! My gag reflex has kicked in big-time, I was nearly sick when I was brushing my teeth this morning, yay!

Just watching 'Enders & I want to cry! Why did they have to kill Bradders? It's so sad. I have an 'Enders spoiler that my Mum told me this weekend so look away now if you don't want to know about it..... Lucy gets pregnant & Jane wants to adopt the baby!

I had an afternoon session of my acupuncture today as I had nobody to look after dd. I took her with me & my lovely acupuncturist spent ages doing her sticker-books with her & then gave her a Chinese back massage with my dd lying on one of those massage tables with her little face in a hole - too cute! Apparently my pregnancy pulses are very strong & my 'girl pulse' is slippery (wtf) so that now indicates a girl!

VJay · 22/02/2010 19:32

Lol neeko that's me

Neeko · 22/02/2010 18:46

Good luck on the wotsit/house hunt tonight Cupcake and please do ask your MW friend. I quite fancy the Medela swing one but it's £80!

Blue Get some cold teabags for your eyes too. Hope you've had your chocolate fix by now.

Vjay I have a very funny mental image of you with Ajay in a slig and your arms being stretched for miles towards 4ever and MLS

I wonder how Barbie is. Can't wait to hear from her.

cupcakefairy · 22/02/2010 16:59

Wow you've been chatty ladies today!

iggy I haven't really had any strangers touching my bump yet, only my sisters (and dh obviously!) but can imagine I would find it soooo wrong! Def get one of those tshirts I'm planning on 3 weeks off before baby I think (still haven't properly decided, slightly in denial )

Neeko I have no idea re breast pumps, I was gonna call my mw friend for her advice on electric vs manual but the electric ones are quite expensive!

4ever massive hand holds for tomorrow, and yay on buying even more baby stuff

I have been dying for a massive bag of cheese puffs/wotsits since yesterday so think a trip to tesco on the way home is in order gross I know!!

We are seeing a house just a couple of streets down from us tonight..looks v nice but we're both not that keen to stay in the area we're in as it's a bit rough...but I guess we can't have everything!!

bluesatinsash · 22/02/2010 16:49

Just popping in quickly, 4ever here's my hand for tomorrow , and mls here's my other hand for Wednesday, now who wants to hold Ajay for me?

Neeko · 22/02/2010 16:28

Blue you always sound soo chilled - are you? Thanks for the advice. Think I may ask my brother for some Boots vouchers (He's nipping my head about a present for the baby) and put them towards it. Have had tea breaks, chocolate breaks, crisp breaks...
Did you phone about Ben's christening yet?

Iggy I agree with Blue about really enjoying my time off before DD was born. A year off sounds amazing!

4ever have a notion for mini toblerones now!
